The article is devoted to the specifics of stressing adjectives in the collection of poetry by Vasyl Stus “Palimpsest: Favorites”. It was found that the adjective has its own accentuation peculiarities, which are associated with the emphasis on the corresponding verb bases. The most quantitatively represented in poetry are passive participles, formed from the infinitive of verbs of the perfect (rarely - imperfect) form with the suffixes-н- (-ен-,-єн-), -т-, used in the attributive function. Three accent types of stress are defined: prefix, root and suffix. About forty participles are recorded with an accented prefix -ви, which is typical for the Ukrainian language. The root accent type of passive and active adjectives, mainly prefix-suffix, which corresponds to the modern Ukrainian literary norm, is most quantitatively represented. The suffix accent type is also quite widely represented. It is established that unprefixed adjectives and the corresponding prefix formations do not differ in emphasis, which is an accentuative feature of the participle. In his poetry Vasyl Stus uses rare lexemes, dialect words and creates individual authorial innovations with their own accents that diversify, enhance meaning and give a special sound, for example: зво́мплений, ненатлий, розпроклятущий, розкошланий, розколошканий, самосебезмертвілий, сліпосяйний, осонцений, сторозтриклятий, схарапуджений etc. Since the forms of active verbs of the present tense are not peculiar to modern Ukrainian literary language, words with suffixes -ч-, -щ-, which are formed from the bases of present tense intransitive verbs with suffixal stress, are not highly represented in the poetic speech of Vasyl Stus: будучий, живлющий, колючий, летючий, мигтючий, невсипущий, сліпучий, співучий, ходячий. It is determined that unprefixed adjectives and the corresponding prefix formations do not differ in emphasis, which is an accentuative feature of the adjective. Accentuation analysis of participles in the poetry by Vasyl Stus shows that the artist widely uses participles in idiosyncrasy, as well as creates individual authorial lexemes, which emphasize the accent types of modern Ukrainian literary language. At the same time, participle stress reflects real language practice., У статті висвітлено особливості наголошування дієприкметників у збірці поезії Василя Стуса "Палімпсест: Вибране". З'ясовано, що дієприкметник має свої акцентуаційні особливості, які пов'язані з наголошуванням відповідних дієслівних основ. Визначено три акцентні типи наголошування: префіксальне, кореневе та суфіксальне. Установлено, що безпрефіксні дієприкметники та відповідні префіксальні утворення наголосом не відрізняються. Василь Стус творить індивідуально-авторські лексеми, які своїм наголошенням відповідають акцентним типам сучасної української літературної мови. Водночас наголошування дієприкметників відображає реальну мовну практику.

У статті на матеріалі фольклорних текстів проаналізовано деякі тенденції наголошування в західнополіських говірках. Some tendencies of accentuation on the material of the records of local folklore and modern dialectological data analysed іn the article.

У статті розглянуто особливості акцентуації дієслів із суфіксом -и- в поетичному мовленні Лесі Українки у порівнянні із сучасною українською літературною нормою та поетичним мовленням кінця XIX – початку XX століття. З’ясовано стилістичне навантаження наголосу в дієсловах із суфіксом -и-, представлених двома акцентними типами: кореневим і суфіксально-кореневим у мові поетичних творів Лесі Українки. Проаналізовано варіантне наголошування дієслів, зумовлене художньо-поетичними ситуаціями та неусталеністю наголосу того часу.The article deals with the specific features of accentuation of verbs with the suffix -y- in the poetic speech of Lesya Ukrainka. The peculiarities are compared with the modern Ukrainian literary norm and the poetic speech of the XIXth – XXth centuries. The research shows the stylistic load of an accent in the analyzed verbs. In Lesya Ukrainka’s poetry these verbs are represented with two types of accentuation: root and root-suffix. The lack of stability and artistic-poetic situations determined the variant accentuation.

Studies of children’s use of intonation in reference are few in number but are diverse in terms of theoretical frameworks and intonational parameters. In the current review, I present a re-analysis of the referents in each study, using a three-dimension approach (i.e., referential givenness-newness, relational givenness-newness, contrast), discuss the use of intonation at two levels (phonetic, phonological), and compare findings from different studies within a single framework. The patterns stemming from these studies may be limited in generalisability but can serve as initial hypotheses for future work. Furthermore, to shed light on the role of input in the acquisition of intonational encoding of referents, I examine caregivers’ use of intonation in reference in infant direct speech. In addition, I discuss how future research can advance our knowledge of these issues.
