Purpose: The main objective of the article is to cover the main directions of development of competences of logistics employees and explore researchers different points of view. Design/methodology/approach: The research in the article consist of a systematic literature review described by Czakon (2015). All steps of the literature review were conducted from August to November 2024. Findings: The Author based on literature review will point out the differences in the perception of competences logistics employees. Research limitations/implications: The limitations include the adopted methodology and research strategy for the studies analysed and the restriction to only one database of scientific publications (Scopus). It is necessary to repeat the research presented in this article to conduct a comparative analysis, expanding the database of analysed studies, whether by including additional databases of scientific publications or by changing the research criteria. Practical implications: the paper will have no practical implications. Social implications: Building awareness of the need to introduce changes in the measurement employee competence level. This is due to the fact that not only experience and track records or academic qualification, but also soft skills and cultural fit refers are increasingly important in building a company's competitive advantage. Background/Objectives: Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) is a known cause of acute kidney injury in children, but there are few recent reports on its epidemiology and outcome. We aimed to investigate trends in the incidence and the long-term outcomes of both Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli -HUS (STEC-HUS) and atypical HUS (aHUS) in Poland over the last 12 years (2012—2023), based on the Polish Pediatric HUS and Pediatric Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) Registries. Methods: A total of 436 patients (301 with STEC-HUS and 135 with aHUS) were included. Results: The incidence of STEC-HUS increased during the observation period, with a mean of 3.9 cases per million age-related population (marp). The incidence of aHUS was relatively constant with a mean of 1.8/marp. The majority of patients fully recovered, although kidney sequelae were observed at 5-year follow-ups in 31% of children with STEC-HUS, 57% of aHUS subjects in the pre-eculizumab era, and 37% of aHUS subjects who had received eculizumab. The overall mortality rate was 2% for STEC-HUS and 3.7% for aHUS, with no deaths reported in children on eculizumab and mortality mainly attributed to neurological damage. A decreasing incidence of chronic kidney disease stage 5 (CKD5) due to HUS was observed. Conclusions: Despite an unchanging incidence of aHUS and an increasing incidence of STEC-HUS, the kidney outcomes of both diseases have improved significantly over the last 12 years. Mortality from HUS has dropped due to improved symptomatic treatment and the introduction of anti-C5 therapy. The development of CKD5 in childhood as a consequence of HUS has become exceptional. The impact of obesity on kidney injury and the development of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is well documented. Unfortunately, the early stages of CKD are asymptomatic, leading to a delayed diagnosis and a worse prognosis. There is a need for more sensitive indicators of kidney damage than those currently used. We aimed to assess the usefulness of serum t-CAF, urinary netrin-1, α-GST, π-GST, calbindin, and calprotectin as biomarkers of early kidney damage in obese children and to investigate the relationship between these indicators and the degree of obesity. A total of 125 simple obese, normoalbuminuric children and 33 non-obese children as controls were selected. Patients were divided into 2 subgroups according to SDS BMI (I: 2 ≤ 4, II: >4). Serum t-CAF was significantly higher in the obese group compared to the controls, as were urinary α-GST, netrin-1, π-GST, and calprotectin. No difference was found between the two obese groups. In normoalbuminuric obese children and adolescents without significant metabolic disorders, serum t-CAF may be a new biomarker for the early detection of renal dysfunction, and urinary netrin-1, α-GST, π-GST, and calprotectin may be better indicators for the detection of early tubular damage, independent of the severity of obesity. Purpose: The main objective of the article is to identify what actions companies take in the context of customer expectations to reduce CO2 emissions. Design/methodology/approach: The results will be based on empirical research in the part concerning customer orientation in a research sample of 250 companies. The research was conducted in the first quarter of 2023. Findings: We will indicate the activities that companies are implementing, will be implemented, and those that they will avoid, in order to meet the expectations of environmentally-oriented customers. Research limitations/implications: Facing the green transition, the activities of companies in supply chains are changing dynamically. On the one hand, this is due to the fact that we adapt to changing legal regulations, and on the other hand, because of the expectations of customers. Of course, the year 2050, by which the European Union declared climate neutrality, is not without significance. Therefore, it is necessary to repeat the research presented in this article to conduct a comparative analysis, which may be the source of an interesting scientific discussion. Practical implications: Identification of activities carried out by companies as part of the policy for low-carbon logistics in supply chains. The ability to observe changes introduced by other companies that are important to customers in order to gain a competitive advantage. Social implications: Building awareness of the need to introduce changes in the operations of enterprises by meeting customer expectations in the field of low-carbon emissions. This is due to the fact that not only economic values, but also ecological and social values are increasingly important when deciding whether to buy the offered good / use a specific service. Originality/value: The processes taking place in companies towards low emissions are important for customers, who are paying more and more attention to a pro-ecological lifestyle. Eosinophilic cystitis (EC) is a rare inflammatory disease of unclear etiopathology and various clinical presentations. We present a case of a 10-year old boy who was referred to our center because of acute kidney injury. The imaging diagnostic showed hydronephrosis, irregular thickening and infiltration of the posterior bladder wall. During cystoscopy, no ureter orifices were identified. Based on histopathological examination of bladder biopsy specimens, EC in an acute phase was diagnosed. To our knowledge the presented case is the first where EC led to post-renal acute kidney injury requiring hemodialysis. In the article we describe the diagnostic difficulties, therapy, clinical outcomes, and patient's follow-up. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
