Doctoral dissertation brings comprehensive compilation of health and disease problematics in the context of education. Its goal is to contribute to todays scientific discourse of the health phenomenon, provide overview of until now scattered findings and to enrich present knowledge with results of instrumental case study. Work is based on findings from many sciences, however unifying overview stems from phenomenology. First section is theoretical-methodology study of health, disease and quality of life. Second part is an essay about the relationship between health and education. Third part is an empirical study of subjective health of a pupil. Outputs from these three parts lead to the conclusive theory, that can too be thought of - as a result of qualitative research - as a new hypothesis: education is the key determinant of human health. The presented thesis, Human Health from the Perspective of Integral Anthropology, comprises six chapters. The introductory chapter is focused on theoretical questions of health and illness. Special focus is given to subject matter in the context of biological as well as social anthropology. These two disciplines are established in Europe as Integral Anthropology. Chapter further contains selected definitions of health. Next chapter is focused on health in relation to quality of life and meaningfulness of life. This chapter refers to the measurement of quality of life, cues and life targets, intrinsic faith and V. E. Frankl's logo therapy. The topic of the third chapter is illness of human life. This chapter discusses the concept of illness, disease and sickness, as well as bio-psychosocial and spiritual model of illness and civilization diseases. This bachelor's thesis is called Sleep and the consequences of its lack on university students. The work is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part are mentioned general characteristics of sleep, history, circadian rhythms, phases and meaning of sleep. Furthermore, attention is also paid to selected sleep disorders, possible causes, and finally the consequences that can occur during sleep deprivation. The practical part is carried out with the help of semi-structured interviews with respondents, followed by an analysis of the interviews, a comparison of individual data and a discussion in which the answers to the research questions are summarized and the results compared with the professional literature. The main goal was to find out the consequences of lack of sleep on university students, when it was found that the most common problems are with attention, memory and mood changes, as well as greater susceptibility to diseases. A partial goal investigated the possible causes that contribute to impaired sleep on university students. The research showed that the most common causes were stress and caffeine. This bachelor thesis is mainly focused on human papillomaviruses (HPV viruses), cervical cancer and primary prevention against HPV viruses. In the theoretical part, basic information about these viruses is described - from their history, epidemiology, risk factors that support the spread of viruses, to the ways of transmission of HPV infection and the division of HPV viruses according to their level of danger. The work also describes selected diseases caused by HPV viruses. Specifically, the work describes "less serious" genital warts (their epidemiology and incidence, mode of transmission and the way to treat or prevent this disease). A significant part of the work is devoted to cervical cancer as a disease caused by high-risk types of HPV viruses. The course of the disease and its individual phases are described in the thesis - from precancerous stages of cervical cancer to cervical cancer itself. The bachelor thesis deals with the concept of nature trails and their use in environment al education. In the theoretical part, I will focus primarily on the general characteristic, which appears similarly in publications. Above all, it is the basic definition of nature trails, types of nature trails, rules for creating information panels and what each nature trail should contain. F urthermore, the contribution and function of nature trails as described in printed, documented literature will appear in the thesis. This thesis examines awareness of cyberbullying in adolescent children. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In part one, the reader is introduced to the basic concepts related to bullying and cyberbullying, including the types, forms and platforms on which cyberbullying can take place. It then describes who is involved in the whole process of cyberbullying and also outlines the legislative provisions. The paper also focuses on prevention and sources of help for victims of cyberbullying. Adolescents' attitudes towards cyberbullying, their awareness of cyberbullying and their level of condemnation of cyberbullying are described. In the second, practical part, the level of awareness of adolescents was investigated by means of a quantitative questionnaire survey in three main areas: the adolescents' knowledge of basic concepts, their knowledge of cyberbullying prevention and their level of cyberbullying condemnation. A total of 116 questionnaires were used for the subsequent evaluation, where the average age of the respondents was 13.1 years. The presented diploma thesis deals with the position of the introducing teacher and looks at the problems of beginning teachers. Today, this position is often mentioned not only in connection with the teacher's career growth, but mainly in connection with the large leaving of beginning teachers after their first years in education. The theoretical part focuses not only on the definition of a beginning teacher and description of their adaptation period, but also on professional opinions and information about the their personality. Furthermore, the theoretical part dwells on the challenges and shortcomings of beginning teachers, which are associated with entry into practice. The final chapters of the theoretical part are devoted to the very position of the introducing teacher. The content of their work and role at school are described there. The practical part focuses on the experiences of beginning teachers with their adaptation period and their introducing teacher. Environmental grief among students of the Faculty of Education at the Charles University The abstract of the bachelot thesis This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the environmental grief, which is a complex of emotions that can be caused by environmental changes and issues connected to them. The theoretical part aims to define and summarize this phenomenon, which can be traced already in the 1970's literature and has recently become a frequently discussed topic. In Czechia, this topic is dealt with by scholars such as Hana Librová, Jan Krajhanzl, Bohuslav Binka or Zdeňka Voštová. The practical part focuses on how students of the Pedagogical Faculty at Charles University approach this phenomenon. By the method of the questionnaire, it was found that they are aware of environmental changes and that the stance of almost half of the respondents regarding the future of the Earth is rather pessimistic. Furthermore, many respondents experience discomfort connected to uncertainty and worries, and one-third of respondents are even inclined to mild anxiety. Despite these aspects, the questionnaire research shows that most students don't adjust their lives to become more environmentally friendly.

This diploma thesis will focus on school bullying, the readiness of beginning teachers to address this issue. The aim of the thesis is to describe and characterize the readiness of beginning teachers from the Karlovy Vary and Pilsen regions to solve school bullying. The theoretical part contains the definition of partial concepts of school bullying. It points out the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of bullying at the primary school level. It also explains the concept of beginning teacher, deals with the professional training of teachers, the key output of teacher training - professional competencies. Last but not least, it points to shortcomings in the professional training of teachers towards practice. The empirical part will analyze the research of beginning teachers in the Karlovy Vary and Pilsen regions. The evaluation was based on a questionnaire survey of 79 respondents and the results show that most of the interviewed beginning teachers do not feel relevantly prepared to address the issue of school bullying in practice. The results also point to huge differences between graduates of different universities. The aim of the work was to reveal the differences between teachers in the city and in the countryside and to compare their lifestyle, we were interested in aspects of life of both groups, their eating habits and the way they spend their free time. The work deals with a healthy lifestyle, its aspects and the relationship to the teaching profession. It consists of a theoretical and research part. The theoretical part introduces the essence of a healthy lifestyle, so it focuses primarily on what a healthy lifestyle is and how to achieve it. For this reason, it was necessary to obtain information on all factors affecting a healthy lifestyle, which is diet, drinking regime, exercise, sleep, but also mental balance and the ability to withstand stress. One of the chapters deals with this, which also brings the connection between stress and burnout syndrome and informs about the possibilities and techniques of defense against it. The research part was created using a questionnaire that monitored the lives of teachers, their habits and quality of lifestyle, compared the differences between teachers in the city and in the village. Consumption of energy drinks by pupils at a selected lower secondary school ABSTRACT The presented bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of energy drinks consumption by pupils at a selected lower secondary school. The concept energy drink is described in the introduction to the theoretical part of the thesis. Furthemore, the theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to the description of the most common components in energy drinks. Subsequently, the thesis focuses mainly on the amount of sweeteners in selected energy drinks on the Czech market. In the practical part of the thesis there is a questionnaire survey investigated among pupils at the lower secondary school in Český Brod, where their general awareness of energy drinks is ascertained. This bachelor thesis deals with activisitional and leisure activities in three selected retirement homes in the Vysočina Region. Specifically, it concerns SeniorCentrum SeneCura Humpolec, Domov Jeřabina Pelhřimov and Domov důchodců Proseč-Obořiště. The aim of the thesis is to describe activities offered in these retirement homes and which of them are most frequently used by the clients, or what activities would clients welcome in the offer. Furthermore, the aim is to compare the offer of the activities and their use. The theoretical part introduces the basic terms related to this issue. The practical part first describes and then compares the three selected facilities. The last part of the thesis is the research, which was conducted qualitatively, using semi-structured interviews with clients of the selected facilities. The results of the research showed that clients in the selected retirement homes most often participate in physical activities, canis therapy, music therapy and occasional outdoor sessions. The range and use of activities did not differ much between facilities, with unique differences highlighted in the thesis.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the knowledge of lower secondary students of a selected school about dental hygiene. The theoretical part is focused mainly on the prevention of dental caries and dental aids. There is also described the anatomy of the oral cavity, the morphology of the teeth, the structure of the teeth, the structure of the teeth as a whole and the most common diseases caused by insufficient or incorrectly performed oral hygiene. The practical part is mediated by a questionnaire survey, which took place in the 9th grade of primary school in Havlíčkův Brod. The aim was to find out what knowledge the students have about dental hygiene, dental aids and teeth in relation to the subjects of health education and natural history. The second partial goal was to find out what is their most common source of information about dental hygiene. The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the pupils of this school have a satisfactory knowledge of dental hygiene, but the anatomical knowledge about the teeth and the problems caused by the insufficient hygiene of the oral cavity is less satisfactory. The diploma thesis deals with the students' health literacy of the 6th to 9th grade students of the elementary school and its influence on their lifestyle. The goal of the thesis was to determine the level of health literacy of students, their lifestyle and whether their knowledge and skills of health area affect their lifestyle. The diploma thesis has two parts, theoretical and practical. The content of the theoretical part includes chapters related to health, health literacy and its models, influencing factors and lifestyle. Furthermore, the theoretical part deals with the developmental specifics of the 6th to 9th grades students. The practical part includes a short description of the school where the research was implemented. The investigation was carried out using quantitative research - questionnaire survey method and qualitative research - interviews with students. There were 67 participants aged between 11 and 15. Students demonstrated a very good level of theoretical knowledge in health literacy. The results of the research showed that the transfer of this knowledge to the real life is not ideal for some students, yet there is considerable effort to improve their lifestyle.

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of homosexuality in the context of its current situation in Czech society and in connection with the education of secondary school students. The theoretical part of the thesis is mainly focused on a thorough mapping of the Czech Republic homosexual environment, from explaining the basic terminology related to the topic, explaining the essence of homosexuality in connection with related circumstances, to analyzing the human-rights aspect and placing the issue of homosexuality into a secondary school education program. The aim of the practical part is to find out what students are aware of the topic also in the context with secondary (or primary) education or preventive activities at school. This as described is implemented on the basis of quantitative research, and as a method of data collection a questionnaire was chosen. The analysis of the data shows that high school students have a good knowledge of the issue, however it is probably not based on a secondary or primary education due to the fact, that the topic of homosexuality wasn't discussed in the curriculum or prevention programs, as a one-fifth of the respondents said. This thesis discusses the topic of supporting the mental resilience of lower-secondary school students. It starts with a brief summary of the protective and risk factors and adolescent stress situations characteristics followed by a thorough overview of methods for development and further strengthening of mental resilience. Next, it describes the role of mental health in curricular documents. The work aims to develop a preventive program, put it in practice at a selected secondary school and evaluate its efficiency using repetitive questionnaires. The program further includes a thorough description of the methodology with attachments for teachers, who will guide the students throughout the program, as well as a portfolio for the student participants. Despite the burgeoning interest in foreign language learning and teaching practices, the research on English teachers' job satisfaction has remained rather scarce, particularly in the Czech context. The current diploma thesis, hence, has aimed to provide insights into the determinants of job satisfaction, with respect to English teachers working at primary and secondary schools. The thesis is categorized into two parts, a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part of the study covers the term job satisfaction. It identifies and analyzes existing research to present definitions and major theories and to provide guidance and basis for the research. Then, it expounds both international and Czech literature on job satisfaction among teachers, highlighting the need for conducting the research. The practical part displays the methodology, covering data collection tools and the sample selection. Next, the findings are presented and discussed to shed light on the issue and to recommend adjustments in the subject matter to improve and prosper English language education in the Czech Republic. This diploma thesis focuses on stress factors and their possible effect on the teachers in a selected school. The theoretical part describes stressful and risk factors, which negatively influence the occupation of a teacher and therefore affect teachers' mental health. Not only stress and stressful situations are described in this chapter but also their causes and possible techniques to manage them. This part also deals with occupational burnout and its most common causes. Further, the occupational burnout prevention and relaxation techniques to avoid the burnout are described. The last important topic in the theoretical part is mental hygiene and how is mental hygiene perceived. This topic also concentrates on principles of mental hygiene, which are considered to be a tool for supporting mental health and can help avoid the mentioned syndrome. The focus of the thesis is self-education as a part of the professional activity of a primary school teacher. A brief definition of a teacher according to the Education Act and the competencies of a pedagogical staff. The following chapters concern on self- education, self-esteem and self-knowledge, which are the key qualities that are needed in self-knowledge process. The aim of the paper is to demonstrate the important role of continuous self-education as an integral part of the teacher's competencies applied in everyday pedagogical activities. The predominant part of the paper is devoted to the practical part carried out by mixed research, followed by the questionnaire survey aimed at finding out opinions on the area of teacher self-education at the Prague primary school, an analysis of these questionnaires follows. The sample of three teachers was chosen out of the total number of 13 respondents, with whom their motivations, forms, methods, time-consuming self-education, or obstacles preventing, them from self- education were ascertained in the form of in-depth interviews. The diploma thesis deals with the topic of life satisfaction of children. Theoretical part of the thesis characterizes the term well-being according to various authors and the issues of its Czech translation. Theoretical part also explains approaches to well-being, its components and predictors. The diploma thesis characterizes the term life satisfaction and its predictors as well. In addition, this thesis summarizes the approaches to measurement of life satisfaction of both adults and children. The crucial part of the thesis is the presentation of selected international and Czech researches carried out in the Czech Republic. The main aim of the thesis is to compare methodologies of these researches with respect to the description of research sample, data collection and measurement of life satisfaction. The thesis also aims to compare the results of selected studies and find out whether Czech children are satisfied or not. The theoretical part of this diploma thesis focuses on defining psychohygiene. The principles of psychohygiene are presented, such as efficient use of time, healthy diet, sufficient exercise, etc. Furthermore, the term stress is defined and explained in more detail by stressors that can burden teachers in a kindergarten. The position of a teacher in a kindergarten, his personality and competences are scrutinized here. The practical part is focused on a qualitative research. Using the case study defined here, the workplace of a private kindergarten is examined in detail using an observation method. Another method in the research is a questionnaire for pedagogical staff in two branches of kindergartens and nurseries. Based on the findings, a conclusion is drawn regarding the psychohygiene of teachers. The aim of the work is to reveal the positives and negatives that affect teachers in this kindergarten and to find out how aware they are about psychohygiene.
