Abstract

This research aims to analyze parents' communication styles in forming a positive selfconcept in generation z teenagers in Polonia subdistrict, as well as analyzing what factors support the formation of positive self-concept in generation z teenagers and to find effective communication styles in forming a positive selfconcept in Generation Z teenagers. In this research, researchers used the Communication Style theory initiated by Norton in Liliweri (2011). This research uses a qualitative approach to analyze the finding data which is then developed into research results. Researchers use data collection techniques through interviews, observation and supported by documentation. Researchers used data analysis using the Miles Huberman and Saldana method which includes data condensation, data display, and then drawing conclusions. Researchers obtained data from the Polonia sub-district, where there were more parents working in government than private sector employees, 50 were civil servants and 25 were private workers. After experiencing data saturation, the researcher involved 5 informants. The research results that researchers found were that several parents with different professional backgrounds used communication styles, including dominant style, dramatic style, open style, friendly style, attentive style, expensive style, and controversial style as dominant communication styles that shape self-concept positive in Generation Z teenagers. 21. Deep circumscribed morphea: A case report.

Abstract

Idiopathic sclerotic skin illnesses are included under the term "morphea", sometimes known as localized scleroderma. Deep induration of the skin and subcutaneous tissue that extends to the underlying muscle and bone is a feature of the morphea subtype known as "deeply circumscribed morphea. Improving the long-term result requires early diagnosis, accurate evaluation, and efficient therapy. We report a case of a 3-year-old boy with a 2-year history of multiple erythematous to violaceous plaques with subcutaneous atrophy on the buccal, oral, mental, and neck area. He has difficulty of swallowing large pieces of food. A skin biopsy confirmed the diagnosis and showed the usual morphology of morphea. The patient was administrated tapered systemic corticosteroid for 20 weeks and oral Methotrexate course for 24 weeks. There was clinical improvement of the lesions clinically with decreased hyperpigmentation of the lesions, regression of the induration and no difficulty of swallowing. The patient is still being followed to assess progression of the lesions and disease activity. Skin biopsy results and typical clinical symptoms are often used to diagnose morphea. Early diagnosis and treatment are required to reduce harm, such as aesthetic sequelae and functional impairment, that may be caused by uninterrupted exercise. Treatment depends on the depth of lesion involvement and the extent of the disease, focuses primarily on limiting disease activity. Morphea may be self-limited, but frequently has a remitting, relapsing or chronic course, resulting in significant disease burden over time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

A good and healthy environment is a basic right of every Indonesian citizen as mandated in Article 28H of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Abstract

Background: After a history of exposure to the suspected material and a thorough physical examination, the diagnosis of occupational contact dermatitis (OCD) is commonly suspected. During the initial consultation, essential information involving the above is frequently neglected. Purpose: To evaluate the clinical manifestations of OCD cases in health workers and analyze the factors that influence OCD cases in health workers at the isolation ward of Dr. Soetomo Surabaya Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The sample selection was done through purposive sampling. Accessible population that met the inclusion criteria and did not have exclusion criteria were included as research samples. The target population was healthcare workers in the Special Isolation Ward of Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya. The accessible population was healthcare workers who performed hand hygiene activities and used Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the Special Isolation Ward of Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya. The research subjects were healthcare workers who worked in the Special Isolation Ward. Result: The research results showed a strong and significant correlation between atopic history and the occurrence of contact dermatitis due to poor skin barrier function and decreased tolerance. The study also found that there was no significant correlation between atopic history and the severity level of OCD. There was a significant difference in transepidermal water loss (TEWL) values in the lesion and non-lesion areas, both on the palmar and dorsal aspects of the hand. Moisturizer is an important component in managing hand dermatitis as it can repair and maintain the skin's protective barrier. Conclusion

Abstract

Objective: This study scrutinizes the communication processes between the Lake Toba Authority Agency (BPODT) and the Sigapiton indigenous community concerning land conflict amid Toba Caldera Resort's (TCR) development. Method: Employing qualitative methodology involving observations, interviews, and data triangulation, the research evaluates the communication strategies and their impact on stakeholders. Result: Findings reveal significant communication gaps between BPODT and the Sigapiton community. BPODT's communication lacks informativeness, relevance to the community's interests, consistency in conveying benefits, and transparency about TCR development's positive and negative impacts. This deficiency in communication leads to conflicts arising from differing message interpretations, especially regarding land acquisition. Conclusion: This study concludes that BPODT's need to enhance corporate social responsibility communication, ensuring informativeness, relevance, consistency, and transparency. It highlights the importance of objective, fact-based messaging and the need for alignment with community interests for sustainable conflict resolution and improved stakeholder engagement.
