Based on the data of China's A-share listed companies from 2007 to 2021, this paper conducts a multidimensional statistical analysis on the confirmation and impairment of M&A(M&A) goodwill of listed companies from the perspective of industry and region. The results of statistical analysis show that:(1) On the whole, the changes of goodwill related indicators can be divided into three stages: small M&A in the budding stage; the sharp increase of goodwill and risk of its impariment in the boom stage; the order and standardization in the stable stage.(2) In terms of industry, the number of listed companies in the Manufacturing Industry was the largest, and their goodwill changes were the most representative. Goodwill in Culture, Sport and Entertainment and Health and Social Work was of low quality and high risk. Hotel and Catering Sectors, Mining and Transportation, Storage and Postal Services were the "goodwill-high-quality" industries. Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry and Fishery, Scientific Research and Technical Services, and Comprehensive Service belonged to the "goodwill-conservative" industries.(3) In terms of region, North China, led by the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei economic circle, was the leader in China's M&A market. In the budding stage, there was little confirmation for goodwill and provision for goodwill impairment in regions outside North China. During the boom stage, goodwill related indicators rose sharply in all regions. In the stable stage, the value of goodwill in each region did not change much, but the average value of provision for goodwill impairment increased, especially in northeast China and central China.

Background: Cannabidiol (CBD) and Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the two major constituents of cannabis with contrasting mechanisms of action. THC is the major psychoactive, addiction-promoting, and psychotomimetic compound, while CBD may have opposite effects. The brain effects of these drugs alone and in combination are poorly understood. In particular, the striatum is implicated in the pathophysiology of several psychiatric disorders, but it is unclear how THC and CBD influence striato-cortical connectivity. Aims: To examine effects of THC, CBD, and THC + CBD on functional connectivity of striatal sub-divisions (associative, limbic and sensorimotor). Method: Resting-state functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) was used across two within-subjects, placebo-controlled, double-blind studies, with a unified analysis approach. Results: Study 1 ( N = 17; inhaled cannabis containing 8 mg THC, 8 mg THC + 10 mg CBD or placebo) showed strong disruptive effects of both THC and THC + CBD on connectivity in the associative and sensorimotor networks, but a specific effect of THC in the limbic striatum network which was not present in the THC + CBD condition. In Study 2 ( N = 23, oral 600 mg CBD, placebo), CBD increased connectivity in the associative network, but produced only relatively minor disruptions in the limbic and sensorimotor networks. Outcomes: THC strongly disrupts striato-cortical networks, but this effect is mitigated by co-administration of CBD in the limbic striatum network. Oral CBD administered has a more complex effect profile of relative increases and decreases in connectivity. The insula emerges as a key region affected by cannabinoid-induced changes in functional connectivity, with potential implications for understanding cannabis-related disorders, and the development of cannabinoid therapeutics.

The structural and electronic modifications of χ-Fe5C2 by MgO contribute to the high selectivity towards lower olefins and the high catalyst stability.

Background Social cognition as a transdiagnostic construct between major depressive disorder (MDD) and schizophrenia (SCZ) is not well understood. This may be attributed to the variability of social cognitive measures indexing the same construct. This study aims to compare emotion recognition and theory of mind domains, known to be impaired in SCZ, between MDD and SCZ. Methods Three groups of participants (NTotal = 150) were enrolled in this study: MDD (n = 51), SCZ (n = 50) and healthy controls (HC; n = 49). Emotion recognition was assessed on the Bell Lysaker Emotion Recognition Task (BLERT) and Penn Emotion Recognition Task (ER40); theory of mind was measured on The Awareness of Social Inference Test (TASIT). Mixed ANCOVAs were utilised to compare social cognitive performance across the groups. Results SCZ performed poorer in all 3 social cognition tasks compared to both MDD and HC. No statistically significant difference in social cognitive performance was observed between MDD and HC. Conclusions This study serves as an effort towards employing the same standardised social cognitive measures for direct comparison of performance patterns across diagnostic groups. Future work is needed to extend this in larger samples of different illness severity and diagnostic categories.

Air source heat pumps (ASHPs) are widely used in various types of buildings in different regions of China. Considering the significant differences in the characteristics in heat source side and user side, providing different products for different zones is an effective strategy to promote the systematic development of the ASHP technology. To realize the goal of energy conservation, standard rating conditions are extremely important. The principles for determining the standard rating conditions based on a two-side (heat source/user side) multi-grade (different conditions) method were proposed along with the development of related standards. Therefore, the establishment of standard rating condition is introduced and summarized systematically. For heat source side, the standard rating conditions for heating were classified into four types according to the lowest ambient temperature (−25, −12, −2, 7 °C), while for cooling they were constant (35 °C). For user side, the conditions for supply air (20/27 °C for heating/ cooling), floor heating (35 °C), radiator (50 °C), fan coil unit (41/7 °C for heating/cooling), domestic hot water (55 °C), and industrial use were also determined. This study introduced the implications on ASHP by different standard rating conditions, especially the technical requirements, which indicated the necessity of providing different system cycles and compressors. The energy savings and economic benefits were also evaluated. The primary energy saving rate reached 15.3% and 41.6% compared with coal heating and conventional ASHP respectively by using low ambient temperature ASHP. The results showed that these standards have been satisfactorily developed.

We studied the millihertz quasi-periodic oscillation (mHz QPO) in the 2020 outburst of the Be/X-ray binary 1A 0535+262 using Insight-HXMT data over a broad energy band. The mHz QPO is detected in the 27-120 keV energy band. The QPO centroid frequency is correlated with the source flux, and evolves in the 35-95 mHz range during the outburst. The QPO is most significant in the 50-65 keV band, with a significance of ~ 8 sigma, but is hardly detectable (120 keV) energy bands. Notably, the detection of mHz QPO above 80 keV is the highest energy at which mHz QPOs have been detected so far. The fractional rms of the mHz QPO first increases and then decreases with energy, reaching the maximum amplitude at 50-65 keV. In addition, at the peak of the outburst, the mHz QPO shows a double-peak structure, with the difference between the two peaks being constant at ~0.02 Hz, twice the spin frequency of the neutron star in this system. We discuss different scenarios explaining the generation of the mHz QPO, including the beat frequency model, the Keplerian frequency model, the model of two jets in opposite directions, and the precession of the neutron star, but find that none of them can explain the origin of the QPO well. We conclude that the variability of non-thermal radiation may account for the mHz QPO, but further theoretical studies are needed to reveal the physical mechanism., 13 pages, 7 figures. A series of trimetallic Pt–Sn–Ce catalysts supported on chloride Al₂O₃ was prepared by a sequential impregnation method and applied for n-heptane reforming and characterized by several techniques, including N₂ physiosorption, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction, CO chemisorption, ammonia temperature-programmed desorption, pyridine desorption Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy. We have demonstrated that the introduction of Ce can promote isomerization reactions by suppressing undesirable hydrogenolysis reactions, whereas it does not significantly influence the dehydrocyclization reactions. The characterization results show that CeOₓ can enhance the reducibility of Pt species via enhancing the Pt dispersion. In addition, Ce increases the proportion of medium-strength acid sites, which does not only promote isomerization activity, but also suppresses the undesirable reactions such as hydrogenolysis and cracking.

A series of uniform microspheres of spinel-type Mn-doped ferrites (MnxFe3-xO4) with different Fe/Mn ratios were employed for the Fischer-Tropsch-to-olefins reaction (FTO). The highest selectivity of 54.4% and the space-time-yield (STY) of 73.0g·kgcat−1·h−1 to lower olefins (C2-4=) were achieved over an Fe-Mn catalyst with 13 wt% Mn. A panoramic view of structure evolution of MnxFe3-xO4 was revealed using multiple in/ex situ techniques. We demonstrated that the expansion of lattice spacing induced by Mn exerted remarkable effects on the stabilization of MnxFe1-xO and e-Fe2C during activation and reaction. Moreover, Mn endows Fe catalysts with strong surface basicity and consequently enhances the adsorption and dissociation of CO; while weakening the H availability and readsorption of olefinic intermediates. In addition, the impeded carburization of MnxFe1-xO and the reduction in particle size of catalysts jointly contribute to the volcano curve in the catalytic activity. The insights presented could guide the rational design of high performance catalysts via heteroatom doping.

The establishment of structure-performance relationship of catalysts during a full life cycle is highly desirable for catalyst design and understanding of nature of active sites. As a case study, lower olefins synthesis directly from CO2 hydrogenation (CTO) was performed over iron catalyst and the catalyst structure evolution during its life cycle has been comprehensively studied. Particularly, operando techniques allow direct observation of the continuous phase transition during activation (Fe2O3 → Fe5C2), reaction and deactivation (Fe5C2 → Fe3O4), and regeneration (Fe3O4 → Fe5C2) process, respectively. After a combined CO2-CO regeneration, 91.8% of the initial activity and 97.7% of the initial C2–C4 olefins selectivity were recovered. Our results indicate that the Fe5C2 phase is the active phase for C2–C4 olefins production. The iron carbide phases are irreversibly oxidized to Fe3O4 under CTO conditions, which is the major factor responsible for the catalyst deactivation. This study not only reveals the dynamic structure evolution of iron catalyst during the full life cycle in CTO, but also endows deep insight into the underlying deactivation mechanism.

IntroductionThe course of schizophrenia illness is characterised by recurrent relapses which are associated with adverse clinical outcomes such as treatment-resistance, functional and cognitive decline. Early identification is essential and relapse prevention remains a primary treatment goal for long-term management of schizophrenia. With the ubiquity of devices such as smartphones, objective digital biomarkers can be harnessed and may offer alternative means for symptom monitoring and relapse prediction. The acceptability of digital sensors (smartphone and wrist-wearable device) and the association between the captured digital data with clinical and health outcomes in individuals with schizophrenia will be examined.Methods and analysisIn this study, we aim to recruit 100 individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders who are recently discharged from the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Singapore. Participants are followed up for 6 months, where digital, clinical, cognitive and functioning data are collected while health utilisation data are obtained at the 6 month and 1 year timepoint from study enrolment. Associations between digital, clinical and health outcomes data will be examined. A data-driven machine learning approach will be used to develop prediction algorithms to detect clinically significant outcomes. Study findings will inform the design, data collection procedures and protocol of future interventional randomised controlled trial, testing the effectiveness of digital phenotyping in clinical management of individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders.Ethics and disseminationEthics approval has been granted by the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Domain Specific Review Board (DSRB Reference no.: 2019/00720). De-nitrogen of organic contaminants in industrial wastewater is a great challenge for environmental remediation. In this work, alumina-supported bimetallic Fe-Cu catalysts were synthesized using a sol-gel method and exhibited high performance in catalytic degradation of nitrobenzene (NB). The bimetallic 5Fe2.5Cu-Al2O3 catalyst showed a 100% NB (100 ppm) removal within 1 h, which was superior to the NB degradation efficiency over monometallic Fe and Cu catalysts. With combination of the catalytic performance and the characterization results of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and H2-temperature-programmed reduction, we proposed that the synergistic effect between Fe and Cu species played a vital role in promoting the reduction of Fe3+ to Fe2+, thus enhancing the generation of hydroxyl radicals ( OH) and the degradation efficiency of NB. To elucidate the degradation pathway, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and dynamic ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy were used to detect the intermediates during the degradation process. The results indicated that the degradation predominantly occurred via electrophilic addition of aromatic ring by OH, followed by the ring opening reaction and mineralization reaction. Moreover, NB can be efficiently decomposed into less stable aniline, which is apt to degrade. This work has not only made significant progress on the development of high-performance catalysts for the degradation of NB, but also provided a deep understanding of the mechanism for NB degradation.

Hydrogen-rich gas production from catalytic steam gasification of coal was investigated in the presence of iron ore in a vertical fixed bed reactor. The addition of iron ore significantly promoted the H2 yields. The effects of operation parameters (upper zone temperature, lower zone temperature, steam concentration, and iron to coal ratio) on the yield of selected gaseous products (H2 and CO) during catalytic steam gasification, were studied using Taguchi method. The results of signal-to-noise ratio indicated that steam concentration and iron to coal ratio were the most important parameters in determining the yield of H2 and CO, respectively. Semi-quantification X-ray diffraction analysis of iron ores indicated that increase in steam concentration intensified the oxidization of low valence iron compounds to Fe3O4. In addition, formation of Fe3O4 was also favored with increasing reaction temperatures (600 °C–900 °C). However, the formation of Fe3O4 was inhibited at higher reaction temperature (1000 °C) due to the destruction of porous structures of the iron ore.
