Abstract

In this work, we establish relations between DNA sequences with missing subsequences (the forbidden words) and the generalized Cantor sets. Various examples associated with some generalized Cantor sets, including Hao’s frame representation and the generalized Sierpinski Set, along with their fractal graphs, are also presented in this work.

Abstract

In this paper, in terms of the Frechet normal cone, we establish exact separation results for finitely many disjoint closed sets in an Asplund space, which supplement the extremal principle and some fuzzy separation theorems. As an application, we provide a new optimality condition for a constraint optimization problem in terms of Frechet subdifferential and Frechet normal cone.

Abstract

The Lévy curve is one of the classic self-similar fractal curves which are traditionally defined and described as dynamic processes. By rewriting its iterated function system (IFS) as a form of binary representation, an analytical expression of the Lévy curve is obtained. Further discussions on its properties, especially the Hölder condition and proving its continuous-but-nowhere-differentiability, are possible with this analytical expression. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Hilbert scan is a continuous scanning method without self-intersecting, while well preserving locality in two dimensional spaces. These properties make it a good choice for applications like image compression and digital image scrambling. To broaden the scope of the curve's applications, we obtain the analytic expressions of the mutated Hilbert-type curve described by J.R. Nicholas and X. Liu. And from their analytic expressions we can construct more mutated Hilbert-type curves and Hilbert curves on rectangular regions, as well as their analytic expressions. The method used to design these curves allows the construction of a variety of Hilbert-type curves and obtains their analytic expressions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
