Affective computing (AC) has been regarded as a relevant approach to identifying online learners' mental states and predicting their learning performance. Previous research mainly used one single-source data set, typically learners' facial expression, to compute learners' affection. However, a single facial expression may represent different affections in various head poses. This study proposed a dual-source data approach to solve the problem. Facial expression and head pose are two typical data sources that can be captured from online learning videos. The current study collected a dual-source data set of facial expressions and head poses from an online learning class in a middle school. A deep learning neural network using AlexNet with an attention mechanism was developed to verify the syncretic effect on affective computing of the proposed dual-source fusion strategy. The results show that the dual-source fusion approach significantly outperforms the single-source approach based on the AC recognition accuracy between the two approaches (dual-source approach using Attention-AlexNet model 80.96%; single-source approach, facial expression 76.65% and head pose 64.34%). This study contributes to the theoretical construction of the dual-source data fusion approach, and the empirical validation of the effect of the Attention-AlexNet neural network approach on affective computing in online learning contexts.

This study uses the event study method to study and analyse the impact of the release of policy information related to the COVID-19 epidemic on the changes in the stock prices of listed companies of property service enterprises in China. The results show that the Hong Kong capital market has been greatly affected by the release of policy information related to the COVID-19 epidemic. Additionally, the study demonstrates that the policy effect of the introduction of policy information related to the COVID-19 epidemic exists in the short term, and that the effectiveness of policy information related to the COVID-19 epidemic will change over time.

Immunosuppression is a major hallmark of tumor progression in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Cluster of differentiation 147 (CD147), an important pro‐tumorigenic factor, is closely linked to NSCLC immunosuppression. However, the role of CD147 di‐methylation in the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) remains unclear. Here, di‐methylation of CD147 at Lys148 (CD147‐K148me2) is identified as a common post‐translational modification (PTM) in NSCLC that is significantly associated with unsatisfying survival outcomes among NSCLC sufferers, especially those in the advanced stages of the disease. The methyltransferase NSD2 catalyzes CD147 to generate CD147‐K148me2. Further analysis demonstrates that CD147‐K148me2 reestablishes the immunosuppressive TME and promotes NSCLC progression. Mechanistically, this modification promotes the interaction between cyclophilin A (CyPA) and CD147, and in turn, increases CCL5 gene transcription by activating p38‐ZBTB32 signaling, leading to increased NSCLC cell‐derived CCL5 secretion. Subsequently, CD147‐K148me2‐mediated CCL5 upregulation facilitates M2‐like tumor‐associated macrophage (TAM) infiltration in NSCLC tissues via CCL5/CCR5 axis‐dependent intercellular crosstalk between tumor cells and macrophages, which is inhibited by blocking CD147‐K148me2 with the targeted antibody 12C8. Overall, this study reveals the role of CD147‐K148me2‐driven intercellular crosstalk in the development of NSCLC immunosuppression, and provides a potential interventional strategy for PTM‐targeted NSCLC therapy. AbstractDatafication, the process where users’ actions online are pervasively recorded, tracked, aggregated, analysed, and exploited by online services in multiple ways, is becoming increasingly common today. However, we know little about how children, especially non-Western children, perceive such practices. Through one-to-one semi-structured interviews with 36 children aged 11–14 from Chinese middle schools, we examined how Chinese children perceive datafication practices. We identified three knowledge gaps in children’s current perceptions of datafication practices online, including their lack of recognition of (i) their data ownership, (ii) data being transmitted across platforms, and (iii) datafication could go beyond video recommendation and include inferences and profiling of their personal aspects. Through contextualising these observations within the Chinese context and its unique online ecosystem, we identified cultural traits in Chinese children’s perceptions of datafication. Purpose: The primary purpose of this study was to explore the audiovisual speech perception strategies.80.23.47 adopted by normal-hearing and deaf people in processing familiar and unfamiliar languages. Our primary hypothesis was that they would adopt different perception strategies due to different sensory experiences at an early age, limitations of the physical device, and the developmental gap of language, and others. Method: Thirty normal-hearing adults and 33 prelingually deaf adults participated in the study. They were asked to perform judgment and listening tasks while watching videos of a Uygur-Mandarin bilingual speaker in a familiar language (Standard Chinese) or an unfamiliar language (Modern Uygur) while their eye movements were recorded by eye-tracking technology. Results: Task had a slight influence on the distribution of selective attention, whereas subject and language had significant influences. To be specific, the normal-hearing and the 10 deaf participants mainly gazed at the speaker's eyes and mouth, respectively, in the experiment; moreover, while the normal-hearing participants had to stare longer at the speaker's mouth when they confronted with the unfamiliar language Modern Uygur, the deaf participant did not change their attention allocation pattern when perceiving the two languages. Conclusions: Normal-hearing and deaf adults adopt different audiovisual speech perception strategies: Normal-hearing adults mainly look at the eyes, and deaf adults mainly look at the mouth. Additionally, language and task can also modulate the speech perception strategy.

The primary challenge in treating esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is resistance to chemotherapy. Cancer stem cell (CSC) is the root cause of tumor drug resistance. Therefore, targeting CSCs has been considered promising therapeutic strategy for tumor treatment. Here, we report that circMALAT1 was significantly upregulated in ESCC CSC‐like cells and primary tumors from ESCC patients. Clinically, there was a positive correlation between circMALAT1 expression and ESCC stage and lymph node metastasis, as well as poor prognosis for ESCC patients. In vitro and in vivo functional studies revealed that circMALAT1 promoted CSC‐like cells expansion, tumor growth, lung metastasis and drug resistance of ESCC. Mechanistically, circMALAT1 directly interacted with CSC‐functional protein Musashi RNA Binding Protein 2 (MSI2). CircMALAT1 inhibited MSI2 ubiquitination by preventing it from interacting with β‐transducin repeat containing protein (BTRC) E3 ubiquitin ligase. Also, circMALAT1 knockdown inhibited the expression of MSI2‐regulating CSC‐markers c‐Myc in ESCC. Collectively, circMALAT1 modulated the ubiquitination and degradation of the MSI2 protein signaling with ESCC CSCs and accelerated malignant progression of ESCC. Summary: Non‐small‐cell lung cancer (NSCLC), which has a high rate of metastatic spread and drug resistance, is the most common subtype of lung cancer. Therefore, NSCLC patients have a very poor prognosis and a very low chance of survival. Human cancers are closely linked to regulated cell death (RCD), such as apoptosis, autophagy, ferroptosis, pyroptosis, and necroptosis. Currently, small‐molecule compounds targeting various types of RCD have shown potential as anticancer treatments. Moreover, RCD appears to be a specific part of the antitumor immune response; hence, the combination of RCD and immunotherapy might increase the inhibitory effect of therapy on tumor growth. In this review, we summarize small‐molecule compounds used for the treatment of NSCLC by focusing on RCD and pharmacological systems. In addition, we describe the current research status of an immunotherapy combined with an RCD‐based regimen for NSCLC, providing new ideas for targeting RCD pathways in combination with immunotherapy for patients with NSCLC in the future.
