Laparoscopic resection of colon cancer in the elderly is one of the common surgical operations, but hypothermia during operation is very harmful to elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic colon cancer surgery. Even the occurrence of mild hypothermia will cause significant damage to patients. This article reviews studies about the effect of hypothermia on the elderly patients, the causes of hypothermia and perioperative nursing measures, and provide reference for improving perioperative nursing quality and surgical safety of laparoscopic resection of colon cancer in the elderly. This paper summarized the perioperative nursing management for a patient who underwent surgical excision of Adrenocortical adenoma. Comprehensive interventions including preoperative preparation, postoperative vital signs observation, appropriate catheter maintenance, prevention of complications were carried out to reduce the surgical risks, relieve mental stress and pain, and improve the recovery of the patient. Motivation Understanding causal effects is a fundamental goal of science and underpins our ability to make accurate predictions in unseen settings and conditions. While direct experimentation is the gold standard for measuring and validating causal effects, the field of causal graph theory offers a tantalizing alternative: extracting causal insights from observational data. Theoretical analysis has shown that this is indeed possible, given a large dataset and if certain conditions are met. However, biological datasets, frequently, do not meet such requirements but evaluation of causal discovery algorithms is typically performed on synthetic datasets, which they meet all requirements. Thus, real-life datasets are needed, in which the causal truth is reasonably known. In this work we first construct such a large-scale real-life dataset and then we perform on it a comprehensive benchmarking of various causal discovery methods. Results We find that the PC algorithm is particularly accurate at estimating causal structure, including the causal direction which is critical for biological applicability. However, PC does only produces cause-effect directionality, but not estimates of causal effects. We propose PC-NOTEARS (PCnt), a hybrid solution, which includes the PC output as an additional constraint inside the NOTEARS optimization. This approach combines PC algorithm's strengths in graph structure prediction with the NOTEARS continuous optimization to estimate causal effects accurately. Background: Depression of adolescents seriously affects their mental health as well as the formation and development of sound personality. According to Family Systems Theory, individuals' mental health is closely related with external (e.g. domestic violence) and internal factor (e.g. self-evaluation). The formation mechanism of depression needs deep investigation in order to provide better educational intervention for students and promote their healthy development., Aim: The study examined the relationship among domestic violence, depression, and self-evaluation., Methods: The data were collected from 1,011 Chinese adolescents ( M age  = 12.04 ± 1.71) by the questionnaire of Family Violence Scale, Depression Questionnaire, and Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale., Results: We found domestic violence and depression were significantly positively correlated ( r  = .25, p  < .001); self-evaluation was significantly negatively correlated with domestic violence ( r  = -.26, p  < .001) and depression ( r  = -.50, p  < .001). Moreover, domestic violence could directly and positively predict depressed psychology, and could also indirectly predict depressed psychology through the mediating effect of self-evaluation., Conclusion: The level of depression of adolescents was closely related with domestic violence and self-evaluation. And self-evaluation played a mediating role between domestic violence and self-evaluation.

Objective: To investigate the expression and significance of NOD1 (nucleotide oligomerization domain 1) and its downstream factors in placenta, fetal membrane and plasma of pregnancies with premature rupture of membranes (PROM)., Methods: 60 cases of PROM pregnancies were recruited, including 30 cases of preterm premature rupture of membranes (< 37 weeks) and 30 cases of mature premature rupture of membranes (≥ 37 weeks); 30 healthy pregnancies in the same period were selected as a control group (gestational weeks ≥ 37 weeks). Western blot was used to detect the expression of NOD1, receptor interacting protein 2 (RIP2) and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) in placenta and fetal membrane tissues of the three groups. Immunohistochemistry staining was used to investigate the protein levels of NOD1 in the placenta and fetal membrane of three groups of pregnancies. Reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) demonstrated the expression of NOD1, RIP2, and NF-κB mRNA in placenta, fetal membrane, and plasma of the three groups. The content of NOD1 in plasma was detected by ELISA., Results: Western blot analysis showed that the expressions of NOD1, RIP2 and NF-κB in the placenta and fetal membrane of the preterm PROM group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.01). Furthermore, the increased levels of NOD1, RIP2 and NF-κB protein in placenta and fetal membrane of mature PROM group were more dramatic than those in the preterm PROM group (P < 0.05). The immunohistochemical staining showed that the staining intensity of NOD1 in placenta and fetal membranes of mature PROM group was stronger those that in the preterm PROM group, and the staining intensity of the former two groups was significantly higher than that of the control group. RT-qPCR detection showed that the mRNA expressions of NOD1, RIP2 and NF-κB in placenta, fetal membrane and plasma of preterm PROM group were significantly higher than in the control group (P < 0.01). In addition, NOD1, RIP2 and NF-κB mRNA levels in the placenta, fetal membranes and plasma of mature PROM group were further increased compared with preterm PROM group (P < 0.01); ELISA assay revealed that the levels of NOD1 in plasma of the mature PROM group, preterm PROM group and control group were (8.34±0.16), (6.82±0.11) and (0.92±0.08) ng/mL, respectively. In the mature PROM group, the content of NOD1 in plasma was increased compared with preterm PROM group (P < 0.05), and plasma NOD1 in both the mature PROM group and preterm PROM group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.01)., Conclusions: Premature rupture of membranes leads to increaseh mRNA and protein levels of NOD1, RIP2 and NF-κB in placenta, fetal membrane, and peripheral blood, which triggers an inflammatory response and increases the severity of PROM., Competing Interests: None., (IJCEP Copyright © 2018.)
