Gas insulated switchgear(GIS) is an important electrical power equipment, which has been widely used in power systems. The GIS equipment will be broken due to some unpredictable reasons in use, so it needs regular maintenance and inspection. However, the traditional detection method is heavy in workload and high in risk. Therefore, it is necessary to design a GIS ultrasonic partial discharge detection robot. We study the visual navigation manipulator technology of the GIS ultrasonic partial discharge detection robot. According to the special environment of the substation, a new marker was designed, smeared on the position to be detected. And the corresponding detection algorithm for the marker is proposed. Then we used the binocular stereo camera to obtain the left and right images of the marker, solve the three-dimensional space position of the target position, and guide the manipulator to the target position to complete the ultrasonic signal acquisition. This research will effectively improve the efficiency and safety of GIS equipment inspection.

In this paper, the EP/SrTiO 3 and EPIBaTiO 3 nanocomposite were prepared by adopting SrTiO 3 or BaTiO 3 nanoparticles as fillers respectively. Thermal conductivity, dielectric spectrum, breakdown strength and flashover characteristics of the composites were investigated. The results reveal thermal conductivity and dielectric constant of EP/SrTiO 3 nanocomposite are higher than that of EP/BaTiO 3 nanocomposite with the same mass fraction. Owing to uniform distribution of nanoparticles in the epoxy resin matrix, both EP/SrTiO 3 and EP/BaTiO 3 nanocomposite have an improved breakdown field strength which increase with the mass fraction of filler. Moreover, incorporation of nanoparticles can help repair the potential defects inside the epoxy resin, creating a denser and smoother structure. Flashover experiment on the surface of sample under the microsecond pulse voltage proves that the flashover voltages of the nanocomposite are higher than that of the pure epoxy resin. Flashover voltages of EP/SrTiO 3 are slightly higher than that of EP/BaTiO 3 . To draw a conclusion, filling SrTiO 3 or BaTiO 3 nanoparticles can improve the thermal conductivity and insulating property of epoxy resin, especially the flashover voltage increases significantly. The novel composite would lay a foundation for the development of energy storage material and multifunctional dielectric material.

In order to improve the accuracy of lightning strike fault location and identification based on the distributed traveling wave monitoring system and lightning location system, the location algorithm and recognition algorithm are improved and integrated. The distributed traveling wave monitoring device is regarded as the lightning detection sub-station, and the calculation results of the lightning location system are corrected to get the accurate lightning flashover tower position. The lightning flashover voltage of the positioning tower is calculated based on the lightning current amplitude and the procedure method. After the lightning fault type is predetermined, the recognition calculation based on waveform feature extraction can be carried out. The actual lightning tripping fault and waveform were used to verify, the results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the accuracy of lightning strike fault location and identification.

Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) scheduling for power equipment is based on some types of data in power system, such as the health condition of components, the load level of the substation and Life Cycle Cost (LCC), etc. Due to the lack of necessary data, traditional CBM strategy optimization models are usually established without enough data, and the optimization results are usually difficult to obtain the enough accuracy. With the development of Chinese power industry, the data volume in power system is increasing dramatically in recent years, and the power industry is undoubtedly entering the era of Big Data. To handle and store these increasing data, more and more data management systems have been developed for different application. For example, Energy Management System, Production Management System and Management Information System have been widely applied. The multi-source data in these systems gives an opportunity to improve the accuracy and rationality for CBM optimization results. Thus, it is of great significance to make full use of these data in maintenance strategy optimization process. This paper presents a new approach to optimize the CBM strategy for components in the substation. After analyzing the interconnection relations of different types of components, the substation is divided into different maintenance units, the components in the same unit can be maintained together. To quantitatively evaluate the reliability of the components before and after repaired, two failure rate calculation models based on Health Index (HI) and age reduction factor are established respectively, and all the alternative maintenance strategies for the abnormal components are proposed based on the location and severity of the faults or defects of the components. According to the theory of LCC, the CBM optimization model is established when determines the minimum total cost as the optimization goal during the maintenance period. The total cost consists of the reparation cost, the interruption cost and the maintenance cost. Finally, an application example in a 220 kV substation is proposed, and these multi-source data are fully applied in the optimization process. The calculation results indicate that these types of data have benefit to improve the accuracy and rationality of the optimization results, and the strategy after optimized can obviously improve both the power supply reliability and the economy of the substation.

GIS are widely applied in power systems and lead to severe consequence when accidents take place. Online monitoring on GIS systems is hence necessary. Based on function analysis of the needs of GIS smart condition monitoring, a modeling method, a communication system and data exchanging interfaces, meeting IEC 61850 intrinsic ideas, are presented after research. Implement of sharing and interacting strategies for intelligently-monitored GIS condition information are discussed. Focusing on MMS-based server/client communication mode, Information exchanging principles based on MMS messaging, logs and files are clarified. Server-client information exchanging communication programs are designed and flow-charts of essential functions and client/server are also presented.

As a new method to protect the spark gap from metal particle contamination, the effect of the metal inserted insulator on the controlling behavior of metal particles was investigated in a quasi-uniform electric field. Considering that the inserted metal electrodes can decrease the electric field around the insulator and divert the electrostatic force away from the insulator, the method can be used to prevent the particles from moving toward the insulator so as to reduce the possibility of a breakdown. The inserted metal electrodes can reverse the direction of the particles' horizontal motion. A study on the insulator shape indicates that the inserted metal electrodes can repulse the particle and improve the particle lifting voltage significantly near the vertical surface of the insulator or ribbed insulator. For the insulator with a tilting surface the inserted metal electrodes have little influence on the particle motion. In addition, the size of the inserted electrodes shows a significant effect on the control of particle motion.
