Carbon nanotube films have drawn attention in the past decade as promising substitutes for aluminum or copper used in aircraft lightning strike protection (LSP) systems. Throughout this study, advanced lightweight lightning strike protection (LSP) composites are based on highly conductive super-aligned carbon nanotube films (SA-CNTFs) and a new isolation layer of zirconia fiber paper. The internal damage level of the composite laminate was assessed using a microfocus X-ray system and non-destructive ultrasonic techniques. Results show that the composite laminate comprising SA-CNTFs (1000-layer) and zirconia fiber paper (1-layer) effectively shields CFRP from 100 kA lightning strikes. Furthermore, weight reductions of approximately 44.3% and 10.4% can be achieved, respectively, relative to the isolation layer of glass fibers and quartz fibers. Ring-opening copolymerization (ROCP) of benzylsulfonyl macroheterocyclosiloxane (BSM) and five different cyclosiloxanes was systematically investigated. A general approach for the synthesis of benzylsulfonyl-containing silicone copolymers with various substituents, including methyl, vinyl, ethyl, and phenyl, was developed herein. A series of copolymers with variable incorporation (from 6 % to 82 %) of BSM were obtained by modifying the comonomer feed ratio and using KOH as the catalyst in a mixed solvent of dimethylformamide and toluene. The obtained copolymers exhibited various composition-dependent properties and unique viscoelasticity. Notably, the surface and fluorescent characteristics as well as the glass transition temperatures of the copolymers could be tailored by varying the amount of BSM. Unlike typical sulfone-containing polymers, such as poly(olefin sulfone)s, the prepared copolymers displayed excellent thermal and hydrolytic stability. In this work, cystine-glucose Maillard conjugates were composited with Cu 1.8 S microspheres (Cu 1.8 S-cgmc) to achieve higher sensitivity for the colorimetric analysis. Enhanced peroxidase-like activity was obtained in Cu 1.8 S-cgmc with a carbon elemental ratio of 1.83% compared to bare Cu 1.8 S. The catalytic activity of Cu 1.8 S-cgmc followed Michaelis-Menten kinetic behavior. The Michaelis-Menten constants of Cu 1.8 S-cgmc on the substrate was over 2-fold lower than that of the bare Cu 1.8 S, indicating the higher affinity of Cu 1.8 S-cgmc. The adsorption equilibrium constant of Cu 1.8 S-cgmc on the substrate was 9.89-fold higher than that of bare Cu 1.8 S based on thermodynamic investigations. The conjugated structure and carboxyl, hydroxyl and amino groups on Cu 1.8 S-cgmc improved its hydrophilicity and adsorption on the substrate. The affinity-improved Cu 1.8 S-cgmc was applied as a peroxidase mimic in colorimetric detection with promoted sensitivity. Compared to bare Cu 1.8 S, Cu 1.8 S-cgmc had a 25.5-fold and 19.8-fold lower LOD for H 2 O 2 and glutathione, respectively. The Cu 1.8 S-cgmc-based colorimetric method showed excellent sensitivity and accuracy in practical colorimetric detection.
