The development of light-field imaging principles has provided new insights and directions for diagnostic multi-physical fields. The light-field camera, based on the principles of light-field imaging, captures the angle information of incident light rays, through a micro-lens array between the main lens and the sensor. Researchers have developed various multi-physics diagnostic techniques based on the principles of light-field imaging. Firstly, the light-field particle image velocimetry (LF-PIV) technique was introduced. It utilized a light-field camera to capture particle images of a complex three-dimensional flow field. Applying three-dimensional calibration, reconstruction and cross-correlation algorithms subsequently gene-rated the three-dimensional velocity field. It ensures measurement accuracy while capturing a three-dimensional three-component velocity field. Moreover, it effectively reduces the device size for velocity field measurements within constrained spaces. Secondly, the application of light-field cameras in the field of shape measurements was introduced. The light-field camera can capture three-dimensional point cloud information of the object′s surface by a single camera and a single shot. This not only significantly reduces measurement time but also simplifies imaging equipment, enabling three-dimensional topography measurement of film-cooling holes. Thirdly, applying light-field camera in the field of temperature measurement can simplify spectral separation methods, leading to the streamlining of temperature measurement systems. Finally, the light-field multi-physics diagnostic technology was summarized, and the endoscopic light-field and meta-lens-based light-field diagnostic technology was prospected.

Abstract Background ​The applicability of laparoscopy to nonmetastatic T4a patients with gastric cancer remains unclear due to the lack of high-quality evidence. The purpose of this study was to compare the survival rates of laparoscopic gastrectomy (LG) versus open gastrectomy (OG) for these patients through a meta-analysis of reconstructed individual participant data from propensity score-matched studies. Methods PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane library and CNKI were examined for relevant studies without language restrictions through July 25, 2023. Individual participant data on overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) were extracted from the published Kaplan-Meier survival curves. One-stage and two-stage meta-analyses were performed. In addition, data regarding surgical outcomes and recurrence patterns were also collected, which were meta-analyzed using traditional aggregated data. Results Six studies comprising 1860 patients were included for analysis. In the one-stage meta-analyses, the results demonstrated that LG was associated with a significantly better DFS (Random-effects model: P = 0.027; Restricted mean survival time [RMST] up to 5 years: P = 0.033) and a comparable OS (Random-effects model: P = 0.135; RMST up to 5 years: P = 0.053) than OG for T4a gastric cancer patients. Two-stage meta-analyses resulted in similar results, with a 13% reduced hazard of cancer-related death (P = 0.04) and 10% reduced hazard of overall mortality (P = 0.11) in the LG group. For secondary outcomes, the pooled results showed an association of LG with less estimated blood loss, faster postoperative recovery and more retrieved lymph nodes. Conclusion Laparoscopic surgery for patients with nonmetastatic T4a disease is associated with a potential survival benefit and improved surgical outcomes.

Evaluation of landslide susceptibility is essential to planning of land and space utilization. For this purpose, the paper presents a case study from Fugu County, Shaanxi Province, China. Firstly, the geological environment and current state of landslides in Fugu County were investigated. Then, slope, aspect, terrain relief, curvature, lithology, land type, and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) were considered as the landslide susceptibility condition factors, and the correlation between these carried out by using Multicollinearity Analysis method. Next, landslide and non-landslide samples were divided into training samples and testing samples according to the sample ratios of 8/2, 7/3, 6/4, and 5/5, respectively. The landslide susceptibility mapping was carried out by using Random Forest (RF) model and Frequency Ratio coupled with Random Forest (FR-RF) model, respectively. Lastly, the landslide density (LD), landslide frequency ratio (LFR), the area under the curve (AUC) of the receiver operator, and other indicators were used to validate the rationality, accuracy, and performance of the landslide susceptibility maps produced from different models and ratios. The results indicated that all maps are reasonable, except the map when ratio is 5/5. For each map, regardless of ratios, the LD and LFR are the greatest in the zones classed as having a very high susceptibility, followed by those with a high, moderate, low, and very low classes.In the Random Forest (RF) model, when the training test set is not at the same time its in the area of extremely high sensitivity of LD and the size of the FR value respectively 7/3 (201.026) ​> ​8/2 (154.440) ​> ​6/4 (93.696) >5/5 (136.364) and 7/3 (4.806) ​> ​8/2 (3.692) ​> ​6/4 (3.260) ​> ​5/5 (2.240); in the Frequency Ratio coupled with Random Forest (FR-RF) model, Inall the training test sets the size of the proportion of LD and FR value respectively 7/3 (145.693) ​> ​6/4 (127.151) ​> ​5/5 (122.857) ​> ​8/2 (113.263) and 7/3 (3.334) ​> ​6/4 (3.073) ​> ​5/5 (2.811) ​> ​8/2 (2.592). What else, from the comparison of ROC curves, when ratio is 7/3, the accuracy of the two models is higher than that of other ratios. Similarly, the results of the ensemble model (A combination of two models with different learning abilities.) are not more reasonable than the results of the single model, which reflects that the combination of a weaker learner model (Frequency Ratio model here) with a stronger learner model (Random Forest model here) can diminish the performance of the stronger model.

The mountainous areas of the Loess Plateau in China are crisscrossed with ravines, fragile ecological environment, and frequent landslide hazards. Landslides often cause building collapses and casualties, seriously affecting the sustainability of economic and social development in the region. In order to study the damage of loess landslides to village and town buildings, the paper takes the Xingwang landslide in Fugu County, Shaanxi Province, China as an example, and uses discrete element method and finite element method to study the dynamic process of landslide and its damage to houses. Firstly, the geological characteristics of the landslide were identified by means of investigation, surveying, engineering exploration and geotechnical testing. Secondly, a three-dimensional numerical model of the landslide area was established by using the particle flow code system (PFC3D). Finally, the entire movement process of the landslide was simulated, and the impact damage to houses induced from landslide was analyzed and predicted. The results show that the whole movement of the landslide lasted a total of 180 s, with a maximum average velocity of 2.01 m/s and a maximum average displacement of 73.7 m. The first and second rows of houses located at the foot of the landslide will suffer serious damage, with most bricks displacement ranging from 0.1 to 2.5 m and a maximum displacement of 10.3 m, posing a serious safety risk to the houses. Only a portion of the third row houses will be damaged, and the fourth row houses will not be threatened by landslide. By comparing with the prediction results of other methods and the current situation of buildings deformation, the results of this paper have a certain credibility. This study provides a numerical method for quantitative assessment of the risk and building damage for loess landslide, which can be used as a reference. It also provides technical support for formulating hazard prevention and reduction plans for the Xingwang landslide.

Steam curing can accelerate the hydration reaction rate of concrete, enhancing the production efficiency of prefabricated T-beams. Excessive temperature differences during steam curing could lead to early cracking of concrete and affect the durability of structures. This paper conducted experiments and numerical simulations to study the variation law of the early-age temperature field of T-beams concrete, and the aim was to seek effective steam curing schemes. The time-history law of early-age temperature variation of T-beam under the coupling effect of hydration heat and ambient temperature was measured. The early-age temperature field of T-beam during steam curing was simulated by ABAQUS and UMATHT subroutine. The effect of steam curing parametric on the early-age temperature field was discussed by five steam curing schemes. The conclusions indicated that under the effect of steam curing, the temperature difference between the interior and the surface of T-beam concrete decreased. The early temperature variation of T-beam was mostly influenced by the thermostatic temperature and thermostatic time. When the thermostatic time is set to 5 h and the thermostatic temperature exceeds 60 °C, there will be a temperature difference of over 25 °C between the surface of the T-beam and the ambient environment, which can cause cracking of the concrete surface. When the thermostatic temperature is set to 50 °C, it is recommended that the thermostatic time should not exceed 10 h.

Abstract Background Distal gastrectomy (DG) is a commonly used surgical procedure for gastric cancer (GC), with three reconstruction methods available: Billroth I, Billroth II, and Roux-en-Y. In 2018, our team published a systematic review to provide guidance for clinical practice on the optimal reconstruction method after DG for GC. However, since then, new evidence from several randomized controlled trials (RCTs) has emerged, prompting us to conduct an updated systematic review and network meta-analysis to provide the latest comparative estimates of the efficacy and safety of the three reconstruction methods after DG for GC. Method This systematic review and network meta-analysis update followed the PRISMA-P guidelines and will include a search of PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library for RCTs comparing the outcomes of Billroth I, Billroth II, or Roux-en-Y reconstruction after DG for patients with GC. Two independent reviewers will screen the titles and abstracts based on predefined eligibility criteria, and two reviewers will assess the full texts of relevant studies. The Bayesian network meta-analysis will evaluate various outcomes, including quality of life after surgery, anastomotic leakage within 30 days after surgery, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, major postoperative complications within 30 days after surgery, incidence and severity of bile reflux, and loss of body weight from baseline. Ethics and dissemination The review does not require ethical approval. The findings of the review will be disseminated through publication in an academic journal, presentations at conferences, and various media outlets. INPLASY registration number INPLASY2021100060.

Robots execute diverse load operations, including carrying, lifting, tilting, and moving objects, involving load changes or transfers. This dynamic process can result in the shift of interactive operations from stability to instability. In this paper, we respond to these dynamic changes by utilizing tactile images captured from tactile sensors during interactions, conducting a study on the dynamic stability and instability in operations, and propose a real-time dynamic state sensing network by integrating convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for spatial feature extraction and long short-term memory (LSTM) networks to capture temporal information. We collect a dataset capturing the entire transition from stable to unstable states during interaction. Employing a sliding window, we sample consecutive frames from the collected dataset and feed them into the network for the state change predictions of robots. The network achieves both real-time temporal sequence prediction at 31.84 ms per inference step and an average classification accuracy of 98.90%. Our experiments demonstrate the network’s robustness, maintaining high accuracy even with previously unseen objects.

BackgroundThe concepts of “individualization” and “preventive treatment” should be incorporated into the precise diagnosis and treatment of coronary heart disease (CHD). Both hemodynamics and Chinese medicine constitution studies align with these two concepts.MethodsThis study utilized data from 81 patients with CHD, including 12 patients with balanced constitution (BC), 20 patients with blood stasis constitution (BSC), 17 patients with phlegm-dampness constitution (PDC), 15 patients with qi-deficiency constitution (QDC), and 17 patients with other constitutions. Clinical data provided information on the patients' blood property, heart function, degree of coronary stenosis, coronary hemodynamics, and so on. These parameters were compared between patients with balanced constitution vs. biased constitutions as well as between those with blood stasis constitution, phlegm-dampness constitution, and qi-deficiency constitution.ResultsCompared to biased constitution (BC), patients with balanced constitution exhibited lower total cholesterol (TC) levels and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels. Additionally, they had lighter stenosis degrees in the Left anterior descending branch (LAD) and Left circumflex branch (LCX) branches. The hemodynamic condition of the LAD and LCX was better for those with balanced constitution; however there was no difference in heart function. Among the groups categorized by blood stasis, phlegm dampness or qi deficiency constituions, patients classified under phlegm dampness had higher levels of LDL compared to those classified under blood stasis or qi deficiency, while patients classified under qi deficiency had higher levels of blood glucose compared to those classified under blood stasis or phlegm dampness. Hemodynamic environments also differed among the LAD and LCX for each group but there were no significant differences observed in heart function or degree of coronary stenosis among these three groups.ConclusionThe balanced constitution demonstrates superior blood property, degree of coronary artery stenosis, and coronary hemodynamics compared to the biased constitution. Furthermore, among the three constitutions with CHD, variations in blood property and certain hemodynamic parameters are observed. These findings emphasize the significant clinical value of incorporating physical factors into the diagnosis and treatment of patients with CHD.

Objectives: Off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB) surgery is controversial in part because of the surgeon’s experience, which correlates with how the surgeon is trained. Because the training model of OPCAB is not uniform, the quality control in the training process seems to be more important and needs to be further discussed. Methods: Nine surgeons accepted and completed an OPCAB training course at a single center to become independent surgeons. This training program is characterized by 6 progressive levels supervised by experienced trainers. In total, 2307 consecutive cases of OPCAB performed by the 9 trainee surgeons were analyzed for monitoring and evaluation in quality control. The funnel plots and cumulative summation (CUSUM) analysis method were used to evaluate the performance of each surgeon. Results: The mortality and complications of each surgeon were all within the 95% confidence interval of funnel plots. The CUSUM learning curves of first 3 trainees was analyzed and showed that the trainees need to complete approximately 65 cases to cross the CUSUM learning curve to reach a steady state. Conclusions: The trainees can directly receive the OPCAB training course under the guidance of experienced surgeons with a rigorous schedule. It is feasible to perform quality control by funnel plots and CUSUM method in OPCAB surgery to ensure the safety of the training course.

In recent years, data has become one of the most important resources in the digital economy. Unlike traditional resources, the digital nature of data makes it difficult to value and contract. Therefore, establishing an efficient and standard data-transaction market system would be beneficial for lowering cost and improving productivity among the parties in this industry. Although numerous studies have been dedicated to the issue of complying with data regulations and other data-transaction issues such as privacy and pricing, little work has been done to provide a comprehensive review of these studies in the fields of machine learning and data science. To provide a complete and up-to-date understanding of this topic, this review covers the three key issues of data transaction: data rights, data pricing, and privacy computing. By connecting these topics, this paper provides a big picture of a data ecosystem in which data is generated by data subjects such as individuals, research agencies, and governments, while data processors acquire data for innovational or operational purposes, and benefits are allocated according to the data’s respective ownership via an appropriate price. With the long-term goal of making artificial intelligence (AI) beneficial to human society, AI algorithms will then be assessed by data protection regulations (i.e., privacy protection regulations) to help build trustworthy AI systems for daily life.

Abstract Background Pecto-intercostal fascial block (PIFB) provides analgesia for cardiac median sternotomy, but many patients complain of severe drainage pain that cannot be covered by PIFB. Rectus sheath block (RSB) has been attempted to solve this problem, but whether PIFB combined with RSB can achieve better analgesia is uncertain. Methods This was a single-center randomized controlled trial at Peking University People’s Hospital from September 22, 2022 to December 21, 2022. Patients undergoing elective cardiac surgery with a median sternotomy were randomized at a 1:1 ratio to receive either bilateral PIFB and RSB (PIFB + RSB group) or PIFB (PIFB group). The primary outcome was intravenous opioid consumption within 24 h after surgery. Secondary outcomes included opioid consumption within 48 h, postoperative pain scores, time to extubation, and length of stay in the hospital. Interleukin (IL)-6, IL-10, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α before and the first 24 h after surgery were measured. Results A total of 54 patients were analyzed (27 in each group). Intravenous opioid consumption within 24 h after surgery was 2.33 ± 1.77 mg in the PIFB + RSB group vs 3.81 ± 2.24 mg in the PIFB group (p = 0.010). Opioid consumption within 48 h after surgery was also reduced in the PIFB + RSB group (4.71 ± 2.71 mg vs 7.25 ± 3.76 mg, p = 0.006). There was no significant difference in pain scores, time to extubation, length of stay in hospital, or the levels of IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-α between the two groups. Conclusions The combination of PIFB and RSB reduced postoperative intravenous opioid consumption until 48 h after cardiac surgery. Salting pretreatment is an effective method to improve the quality of frozen fish. This study investigated the quality changes and proteomic profile differences of frozen yellowfin tuna fillets pretreated with ultrasound-assisted salting (UAS) and static salting (SS). This study was centered on three aspects: physicochemical indicators’ determination, histological observation, and proteomic analysis. The results showed that UAS significantly increased yield, salt content, and water-holding capacity (WHC), decreased total volatile base nitrogen (TVBN) compared to SS (p < 0.05), and significantly increased water in the protein matrix within myofibrils. Histological observations showed that the tissue cells in the UAS group were less affected by frozen damage, with a more swollen structure and rougher surface of myofibrils observed. Furthermore, 4D label-free proteomics revealed 56 differentially abundant proteins (DAPs) in UAS vs. NT comparison, mainly structural proteins, metabolic enzymes, proteasomes, and their subunits, which are associated with metabolic pathways such as calcium signaling pathway, gap junction, actin cytoskeletal regulation, and necroptosis, which are intimately associated with quality changes in freeze-stored tuna fillets. In brief, UAS enhances the potential for the application of salting pretreatment to improve frozen meat quality, and 4D label-free proteomics provides knowledge to reveal the potential links between quality and molecular changes in processed frozen meat to optimize future UAS meat processing.

Objectives: Assess the prevalence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) of vascular intestinal disorders (VID) from 1990 to 2019.Methods: This study conducted a secondary data analysis utilizing the Global Burden of Diseases Study 2019. The prevalence, mortality and DALYs of VID were analyzed by sex, age and socio-demographic index (SDI), respectively. Analyses were performed by using R software.Results: Globally, the number of prevalent VID cases increased from 100,158 (95% uncertainty interval: 89,428–114,013) in 1,990–175,740 (157,941–198,969) in 2019. However, the age-standardized rates (ASR) of VID prevalence declined from 2.47 (95% uncertainty interval: 2.24–2.76) per 100,000 population to 2.21 (1.98–2.48) per 100,000 population between 1990 and 2019. Furthermore, the ASR of mortality also decreased from 1990 to 2019. Between 1990 and 2019, the regions with high and high-middle level exhibited the highest diseases burden.Conclusion: Globally, the diseases burden associated with VID demonstrated a decline from 1990 to 2019. However, concerted efforts are still required to enhance measures to combat VID within countries categorized as high and high-middle SDI.

BackgroundTo date, several studies have compared the surgical and oncological outcomes of local excision (LE) and radical excision (RE) for rectal gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), but some have limited numbers of small series. This protocol outlines the planned scope and methods for a systematic review and meta-analysis that will compare the surgical and oncological outcomes of LE and RE in patients with rectal GISTs.MethodsThis protocol is presented in accordance with the PRISMA-P guideline. PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library and Wanfang database will be systematically searched. Furthermore, reference lists of all included articles will be screened manually to add other eligible studies. We will include randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and non-randomized studies (NRS) in this study. The primary outcomes evaluated will be R0 resection rate and disease-free survival, while the secondary outcomes will contain overall survival, length of stay, tumor rupture rate and complications. Two reviewers will independently screen and select studies, extract data from the included studies, and assess the risk of bias of the included studies. Preplanned subgroup analyses and sensitivity analyses are detailed within this protocol. The strength of the body of evidence will be assessed using GRADEDiscussionThis review and meta-analysis will provide a comprehensive evaluation of the current evidence concerning the application of LE and RE in patients with rectal GISTs. BackgroundMachine learning radiomics models are increasingly being used to predict gastric cancer prognoses. However, the methodological quality of these models has not been evaluated. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the methodological quality of radiomics studies in predicting the prognosis of gastric cancer, summarize their methodological characteristics and performance.MethodsThe PubMed and Embase databases were searched for radiomics studies used to predict the prognosis of gastric cancer published in last 5 years. The characteristics of the studies and the performance of the models were extracted from the eligible full texts. The methodological quality, reporting completeness and risk of bias of the included studies were evaluated using the RQS, TRIPOD and PROBAST. The discrimination ability scores of the models were also compared.ResultsOut of 283 identified records, 22 studies met the inclusion criteria. The study endpoints included survival time, treatment response, and recurrence, with reported discriminations ranging between 0.610 and 0.878 in the validation dataset. The mean overall RQS value was 15.32 ± 3.20 (range: 9 to 21). The mean adhered items of the 35 item of TRIPOD checklist was 20.45 ± 1.83. The PROBAST showed all included studies were at high risk of bias.ConclusionThe current methodological quality of gastric cancer radiomics studies is insufficient. Large and reasonable sample, prospective, multicenter and rigorously designed studies are required to improve the quality of radiomics models for gastric cancer prediction.Study registrationThis protocol was prospectively registered in the Open Science Framework Registry (https://osf.io/ja52b).

BackgroundHepatic hemangioma is among the most common benign liver lesions. However, giant pedunculated hepatic hemangiomas are exceptionally rare and associated with additional risks, such as torsion.Case presentationWe present the case of a 63-year-old female patient who presented with abdominal distension and pain. Barium meal examination and gastroscopy revealed a large, smooth-surfaced submucosal bulge located at the fundus of the stomach. Subsequent MRI examination identified a mass measuring approximately 6.4 x 7 cm in the left upper abdomen. Surgical intervention was planned for mass removal. However, intraoperative exploration revealed the origin of the mass to be the liver, and subsequent histopathological examination confirmed it as a hemangioma.ConclusionWe systematically summarized the characteristics of our case along with 31 previously reported cases. Giant pedunculated hepatic hemangiomas typically occur in the left lobe of the liver. Due to their atypical presentation, a combination of imaging methods such as ultrasound, CT, and/or MRI is essential for accurate diagnosis. Furthermore, surgical intervention is recommended due to the potential risks of bleeding, rupture, and torsion.

As a typical representative of micro/nano-textured silicon, black silicon has excellent light absorption properties and is gradually surfacing as a substitute for standard silicon in photoelectric devices. Black silicon overcomes the limitations of traditional silicon-based devices, which are unable to achieve infrared light detection at wavelengths >1100 nm and have low quantum efficiency and sensitivity in ultraviolet light detection. In this article, the recent theoretical and experimental breakthroughs in near-infrared and ultraviolet detection using black silicon are summarized in detail. First, black silicon and the techniques for its fabrication are introduced. Then, the application of enhanced black silicon photodetectors within or above the bandgap limit and black silicon fabricated using different methods in infrared detection is discussed. In principle, infrared detection using black silicon is achieved by jointly utilizing element doping, localized surface plasmon resonance effect, and heterojunction formation. In addition, the application of black silicon in ultraviolet detection is also introduced. Ultraviolet detection is realized by an induced junction and the self-built electric field between black silicon and aluminum oxide. Finally, the increasingly growing potential of black silicon in near-infrared and ultraviolet detection applications, such as infrared night vision imaging, signal detection, ultraviolet light intensity monitoring, and national defense early warning, is further discussed.

Capacitive sensors show promising applications for human–computer interface due to their potential capabilities of both pressure and proximity sensing. However, the sensitivity loss at large strain and the complicated process of fabrication technology limit related applications. Herein, inspired by gradient and hierarchical structures in biological systems and using porous materials with different stiffness, a capacitive flexible sensor with both proximity and pressure sensing abilities is proposed. Such hierarchical structures effectively reduce the attenuation of sensitivity as the pressure increases, realizing an ultrawide detection range with high sensitivity. A theoretical mathematical model is developed and the corresponding capacitive sensor is fabricated by using the high‐performance porous impregnated dust‐free paper as the electrode and expandable polyethylene (EPE)/loofah‐like polyurethane sponge (LPS) as double‐layer porous dielectric. This sensor has an ultrawide detection range up to 3000 kPa with a significantly low sensitivity loss of 0.0195% kPa−1 and the noncontact sensing mode reaches a sensing range up to 28 cm (0.122 cm−1). Notably, a strategy is provided to design the high sensitivity sensor over an ultrawide detection range from approaching to pressuring, and eventually its promising application is presented as human–computer interaction.

The study of landslide dynamic process and impact damage has important theoretical and practical significance for landslide risk quantitative assessment. Taking Fenghuang Street landslide in Ningqiang County, Shaanxi Province, China as an example, the dynamic process of landslide and its damage to brick-concrete structure buildings are predicted by using discrete element method. Firstly, a three-dimensional numerical landslide model is established by means of the particle flow code system (PFC3D), which is based on landslide investigation, surveying, engineering exploration and geotechnical testing. Secondly, the whole process of landslide deformation, failure, movement and impact damage was simulated, and the velocity, displacement and impact force of the landslide in the motion process were quantitatively studied. Thirdly, the building model (brick-concrete structure) located at the foot of the landslide was constructed by PFC3D and finite element software (Midas/gen), respectively. The characteristics of deformation and displacement of the buildings after the landslide impact are analyzed, and the impact damage of the landslide is predicted. The results show that the rear edge of Fenghuang Street landslide first deforms and fails, and the leading edge is gradually pushed out. After the locking section of the front edge is broken, the landslide begins to slide as a whole, which is a typical push landslide. The main sliding time of the landslide is about 30 s, the maximum average velocity is 3.2 m/s, and the maximum displacement is about 40 m. After the landslide hits the building, the building is displaced in the moving direction of the landslide, and the wall of the building impacted by the landslide is destroyed, resulting in an collapse evident. The relevant research methodologies and findings in this paper can provide a reference for the risk assessment of the same type of landslides, especially the quantitative assessment of the vulnerability for the brick-concrete buildings at risk.

Abstract Background There are limited data on the clinical benefits of adding surgical resection in patients with recurrent or metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). This protocol outlines the planned scope and methods for a systematic review and meta-analysis update that will compare the clinical outcomes of surgical resection combined with tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) with TKI treatment alone in patients with recurrent or metastatic GISTs. Methods This review will update a previously published systematic review by our team. This protocol is presented in accordance with the PRISMA-P guideline. PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials will be systematically searched and supplemented by a secondary screening of the references of all included studies. We will include randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and non-randomized studies (NRS) in this review update. The outcomes evaluated will be overall survival and progression-free survival. Two reviewers will independently screen and select studies, extract data from the included studies, and assess the risk of bias of the included studies. Data extracted from RCTs and NRS will be analysed and reported separately. Preplanned subgroup analyses and sensitivity analyses are detailed within this protocol. The strength of the body of evidence will be assessed using GRADE. Discussion This systematic review and meta-analysis update will provide a current assessment of the evidence for the role of surgery in patients with recurrent or metastatic advanced GISTs. These findings will be used by the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) GIST guideline recommendations on surgical treatment for recurrent or metastatic advanced GIST patients in China. Abstract Background Recently, convalescent plasma (CP) transfusion was employed for severe or critically ill patients with coronavirus disease-2019. However, the benefits of CP for patients with different conditions are still in debate. To contribute clinical evidence of CP on critically ill patients, we analyze the characteristics and outcomes of patients with or without CP transfusion. Methods In this cohort study, 14 patients received CP transfusion based on the standard treatments, whereas the other 10 patients received standard treatments as control. Clinical characteristics and outcomes were analyzed. The cumulative survival rate was calculated by Kaplan–Meier survival analysis. Results Data analysis was performed on 24 patients (male/female: 15/9) with a median age of 64.0 (44.5–74.5) years. Transient fever was reported in one patient. The cumulative mortality was 21% (3/14) in patients receiving CP transfusion during a 28-day observation, whereas one dead case (1/10) was reported in the control group. No significant difference was detected between groups in 28-day mortality (P = 0.615) and radiological alleviation of lung lesions (P = 0.085). Conclusion In our current study, CP transfusion was clinically safe based on the safety profile; however, the clinical benefit was not significant in critically ill patients with more comorbidities at the late stage of disease during a 28-day observation. In this work, a capacitive pH sensor consisting of Ta2O5 functional film is designed and fabricated by employing MEMS-based procedures. The Ta2O5 thin film has an amorphous microstructure, and its surface roughness is less than 3.17 nm. A signal processing circuit and a software filtering algorithm are also designed to measure the pH value, thus improving the detection accuracy and anti-interference ability. Good linearity (R2 = 0.99904) and sensitivity (63.12 mV/pH) are recorded for the proposed sensing element in the range of pH 2~12. In addition, the sensor’s drift and hysteresis are equal to 5.1 mV and 5.8 mV, respectively. The enhanced sensing performance in combination with the facile miniaturization process, low fabrication cost, and suitability for mass production render the fabricated sensor attractive for applications where pH change measurements in a water environment are required.

Abstract Malignant transformation of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) is correlated with poor prognosis; however, the underlying biological mechanism is not well understood. In the present study, low-risk (LR) GISTs, GISTs categorized as high-risk based on tumor size (HBS), and on mitotic rate (HBM) were collected for RNA sequencing. Candidate hub lncRNAs were selected by Oncomine analysis. Expression of a selected hub lncRNA, DNM3OS, and its correlation with patients’ prognosis were analyzed using FISH staining, followed with the determination of function and underlying mechanism. Our results revealed a series of key pathways and hub lncRNAs involved in the malignant transformation of GISTs. Oncomine analysis revealed a tight association between clinical signatures and DNM3OS and suggested that DNM3OS is a hub lncRNA that is involved in the Hippo signaling pathway. In addition, DNM3OS was upregulated in HBS, HBM, and HBS/M GIST and correlated with worse prognosis in patients with GISTs. In addition, DNM3OS promoted GIST cell proliferation and mitosis by regulating the expression of GLUT4 and CD36. Collectively, these results improve our understanding of the malignant transformation of GISTs and unveil a series of hub lncRNAs in GISTs.

Abstract The efficacy of agents targeting epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in patients with various cancers was well elucidated. However, the safety profile of EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR‐TKIs) has not been systematically investigated. This meta‐analysis aimed to evaluate the safety profile of EGFR‐TKIs in patients with cancer. A systematic search of PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library databases, ASCO, and ESMO abstracts were conducted. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that compared safety profile of EGFR‐TKIs with placebo were included. The end points included treatment‐related adverse events (AEs), treatment discontinuation, and toxic death. Twenty‐eight RCTs containing 17,800 patients were included. The analyses showed that the most frequently observed all‐grade AEs in patients treated with EGFR‐TKIs were diarrhea (53.7%), rash (48.6%), mucositis (46.5%), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) increased (38.9%), and skin reaction (35.2%). The most common high‐grade (grade ≥3) AEs were mucositis (14.8%), pain (8.2%,), metabolism and nutrition disorders (7.4%), diarrhea (6.2%), dyspnea (6.1%), and hypertension (6.1%). The incidence of serious AEs, treatment discontinuation, and toxic death due to AEs were 18.2%, 12.36%, and 3.0%, respectively. Pooled risk ratio (RR) showed that the use of EGFR‐TKIs was associated with an increased risk of developing AEs. Subgroup analysis indicated that the risk of AEs varied significantly according to tumor type, generation line, and drug type. Our meta‐analysis indicates EGFR‐TKIs was associated with a significant increased risk of a series of unique AEs. Early detection and proper management of AEs are important to reduce morbidity, avoid treatment discontinuation, and improve patient quality of life. Objective: After coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery, the main causes of poor instant patency of left internal mammary arteries (LIMAs) are competitive flow and anastomotic stenosis, but how to determine the cause of LIMA non-patency without interfering with the native coronary artery is still a difficult problem to be solved urgently.Methods: In this study, a 0D-3D coupled multiscaled CABG model of anastomotic stenosis and competitive flow was constructed. After calculation, the flow waveform of the LIMA was extracted, and the waveform shape, common clinical parameters (average flow, PI, and DF), and graft flow FFT ratio results (F0/H1 and F0/H2) were analyzed.Results: For LIMA, these three common clinical parameters did not differ significantly between the anastomotic stenosis group and competitive flow group. However, the waveform shape and FFT ratio (especially F0/H2) of the competitive flow group were significantly different from those of the anastomotic stenosis group. When the cause was competitive flow, there was systolic backflow, and F0/H2 was too high (>14.89). When the cause was anastomotic stenosis, the waveform maintained a bimodal state and F0/H2 was in a normal state (about 1.17).Conclusion: When poor instant patency of the LIMA is found after CABG, the causes can be determined by graft flow waveform shape and F0/H2.

Oat is considered as a moderately salt-tolerant crop that can be used to improve saline and alkaline soils. Previous studies have focused on short-term salt stress exposure, and the molecular mechanisms of salt tolerance in oat have not yet been elucidated. In this study, the salt-tolerant oat cultivar Vao-9 and the salt-sensitive oat cultivar Bai5 were treated with 6 days of 0 and 150 mmol L−1 salt stress (nNaCl:nNa2SO4 = 1:1). Label-Free technology was then used to analyze the differentially expressed proteins in leaves under 0 and 150 mmol L−1 salt stress. The obtained results indicated that total of 2,631 proteins were identified by mass spectrometry in the four samples. The salt-tolerant cultivar Vao-9 mainly enhances its carbohydrate and energy metabolism through the pentose and glucuronate interconversions, and carbon fixation pathways in prokaryotes, thereby reducing the damage caused by salt stress. In addition, the down-regulation of ribosomes expression and the up-regulated expression of HSPs and CRT are all through the regulation of protein synthesis in response to salt stress. However, GABA metabolism presents a different synthesis pattern in Bai5 and Vao-9. The main KEGG function of differential expressed protein (DEP) in Bai5 is classified into protein processing in the endoplasmic reticulum, estrogen signaling pathway, antigen processing and presentation, longevity regulating pathway-multiple species, arginine and proline metabolism, beta-alanine metabolism, vitamin B6 metabolism, salmonella infection, chloroalkane and chloroalkene degradation, and limonene and pinene degradation. Moreover, the main KEGG functions of DEP in Vao-9 are classified as ribosome and carbon fixation pathways in prokaryotes, pentose and glucuronate interconversions, GABA ergic synapse, and taurine and hypotaurine metabolism. The results obtained in this study provide an important basis for further research on the underlying mechanisms of salt response and tolerance in oat and other plant species.

The initial and induced anisotropy has a significant effect on the mechanical properties of soft soil in preloading engineering. However, there is a lack of unified research methods for the initial and induced anisotropy. Discrete element method is adopted in this study, and the length-width ratio of particles is used as the quantitative evaluation index. Five types of initial anisotropy samples with different deposition angles are generated. The effects of initial anisotropy and induced anisotropy on the mechanical properties of soft soil are studied by vertical and horizontal loading. At the micro level, the contact form and rotation angle of particles are examined from the point of view of particles, and the development trend of coordination number and contact normal to anisotropy is studied from the point of view of contact. The relationship between shear strength index and anisotropy is explored. The results show that initial and induced anisotropy influences the mechanical properties of the samples. When the loading direction is perpendicular to the soft soil deposition direction, the soil mass has the maximum peak strength. In the particle contact form, the proportion of surface contact gradually increases with loading. The initial modulus and shear strength are influenced. The coordination number and contact normal anisotropy have different evolutions under the influence of particle contact form, and tend to be stable at the later loading stage. In terms of shear strength parameters, the initial anisotropy will increase the cohesion of the sample, and the induced anisotropy will mainly change the internal friction angle, which is consistent with the law of shear strength.

The effects of foliar application of spermidine (Spd) on the physiological aspects of salt-stressed oat seedlings were studied under greenhouse conditions. At the seedling stage, the salt-sensitive variety, namely, Caoyou 1 and the salt-tolerant variety, namely, Baiyan 2 were treated with 70 and 100 mM of salt, followed by the foliar application of 0.75 mM Spd or distilled water. Results showed that Spd application increased the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), and ascorbate peroxidase (APX), and reduced the rate of O2⋅– production and the accumulation of H2O2 and malondialdehyde (MDA). In addition, it increased the level of zeatin riboside (ZR) and the content of endogenous polyamines. The application of Spd increased the contents of soluble sugar, soluble protein, and free proline and helped maintain the osmotic balance of oat leaves. At the same time, foliar Spd treatment helped in maintaining the ion nutrition balance. Specifically, it reduced the content of Na+ and thereby stabilized the ratio of Na+/K+, Na+/Ca2+, and Na+/Mg2+. The effects of Spd application were more obvious for the salt-sensitive cultivar Caoyou 1 and under the lighter 70 mM salt stress.

Affected by the abrupt changes of load and unregulated first-stage rectifiers, it is difficult for the output voltage of the isolated DC-DC converter with traditional proportional-integral (PI) control to meet the needs of industrial applications such as automotive electrophoretic painting. A voltage response improving the method based on a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) is proposed in this study for the output voltage mutation of DC converter caused by load mutation. By detecting the output voltage deviation and load current value, the RBF model gives the compensation amount of the duty ratio to enhance the PI controller to speed up the voltage regulation and improve voltage response. For the six-pulse voltage ripple introduced by the unregulated rectifier in the previous stage, a delay link is adopted, where the compensation amount of the duty ratio and its delay time are reasonably designed to reduce the ripple value. The experimental test platform is built, and the proposed method is verified. The results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the output voltage response and ripple as well as improve the output voltage quality of the DC converter, which is of certain engineering application value.

The outermost surface of wool comprises a scale layer which hinders certain fabric processing steps and shrink resistance properties of wool fabrics. How to remove surface scale layer without causing severe damage has been an important topic in wool research for decades. In this study, polyurethane was used to prepare the modified protease (MP), the highest activity was obtained at 50°C and pH 7 for the MP. MP was used to treat the surface of ultrafine wool. The resultant surface morphology, chemical groups, and mechanical performance of the treated wool fabrics were evaluated.

Abstract Background With the ageing of China’s population, the incidence and mortality of coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CAD) is increasing year by year, which brings a heavy burden to the family and society [1]. We aimed to analyse the strategy of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in the right coronary artery and to compare the haemodynamic characteristics of the sequential grafts with those of single grafts and to observe the patency rate of those grafts for 1 week after the operation. Methods A total of 242 patients (178 men, mean age 62.6 ± 8.8 years) underwent right coronary artery bypass grafting in our hospital from October 2016 to January 2019. The blood flow (Q, ml/min), pulsatility index (PI) and related parameters of the grafts were measured and recorded by TTFM during the CABG. The patency of the grafts was evaluated by coronary computed tomography (CT) for 1 week after the operation. Results The most common material used for the graft in the right coronary system of CABG is the greater saphenous vein (92.3%), followed by the radial artery (5.5%) and the internal mammary artery (1.9%). The highest frequency target of the right coronary artery is the posterior descending artery (PDA) (47.6%), followed by the right main coronary artery (RCA) (29.1%) and the posterior branch of the left ventricle (PL) (23.3%). The proportion of single grafts was the highest for the right coronary artery in CABG (178 cases, 67.9%), followed by a graft of the PDA-PL (42 cases, 16.0%) and other sequential grafts among the different coronary artery systems (including the system of the left anterior descending artery (LAD) and the left circumflex (LCX)). Whether there were sequential grafts of the PDA-PL or other sequential grafts among the different systems of the coronary artery, the instantaneous flow of a group of sequential grafts was higher than that of a single graft, and the difference had statistical significance (P

Abstract Objective There is no consensus on the best choice between high- and low-viscosity bone cement for percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP). This study aimed to compare the clinical and radiological outcomes and leakage between three cements with different viscosities in treating osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. Methods This is a prospective study comparing patients who were treated with PVP under local anesthesia: group A (n = 99, 107 vertebrae) with high-viscosity OSTEOPAL V cement, group B (n = 79, 100 vertebrae) with low-viscosity OSTEOPAL V cement, and group C (n = 88, 102 vertebrae) with low-viscosity Eurofix VTP cement. Postoperative pain severity was evaluated using the visual analog scale. Cement leakage was evaluated using radiography and computed tomography. Results There was no significant difference in the incidence of cement leakage between the three groups (group A 20.6%, group B 24.2%, group C 20.6%, P = 0.767). All three groups showed significant reduction in postoperative pain scores but did not differ significantly in pain scores at postoperative 2 days (group A 2.01 ± 0.62, group B 2.15 ± 0.33, group C 1.92 ± 0.71, P = 0.646). During the 6 months after cement implantation, significantly less reduction in the fractured vertebral body height was noticed in group B and group C than in group A (group A 19.0%, group B 8.1%, group C 7.3%, P = 0.009). Conclusions Low-viscosity cement has comparable incidence of leakage compared to high-viscosity cement in PVP for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. It also can better prevent postoperative loss of fractured vertebral body’s height.

Abstract Background Owing to the high patency, the use of the left internal mammary artery (LIMA) for left anterior descending artery (LAD) grafting has been a cornerstone of coronary artery bypass grafting surgery (CABG). However, for some patients whose LIMA cannot be used, surgeons have to choose other conduit materials to revascularize the LAD. The purpose of this study was to explore the differences in different conduit materials used for LAD in terms of parameters measured by transit-time flow measurement (TTFM) and the early graft patency detected by computed tomography angiography. Methods We retrospectively collected the data of 410 patients who underwent isolated primary OPCAB with intraoperative TTFM data. According to the strategy of the LAD revascularization, 410 patients were assigned to three groups: a left internal mammal artery (LIMA) group (n = 333), a right IMA (RIMA) group (n = 34) and a great saphenous vein (SVG) group (n = 43). The baseline and perioperative blood parameters were compared for the three groups, as well as the early graft patency rates. Results Compared with the LIMA-LAD group, the SVG-LAD group had a significantly higher mean graft flow volume (MGF) (37.15 ± 23.29 vs 29.71 ± 20.94 ml/min, P = 0.036), however, had a lower value of pulse index (PI) (2.07 ± 0.62 vs 2.65 ± 1.01, P0.05). Compared with the RIMA-LAD group, the SVG-LAD group just had a lower value of PI (2.07 ± 0.62 vs 2.56 ± 0.96, P = 0.029). However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of MGF and DF (P>0.05). Compared with the LIMA-LAD group, the RIMA-LAD group had a slightly lower value of DF (70.76 ± 11.87 vs 74.06 ± 7.09, P = 0.018), while there was no difference in terms of MGF and PI between the two groups (P>0.05). The patency rate of the LIMA-LAD group was 98.72% (309/313), that of RIMA-LAD group was 97.06% (33/34), and that of SVG-LAD group was 100%. There was no difference among the three groups in patency rate (P = 0.405). Conclusions SVG-LAD has a higher intraoperative MGF and a lower value of the PI than both LIMA-LAD and RIMA-LAD. RIMA has a higher preoperative blood flow and a lower value of the PI than LIMA; however, there were no significant difference between RIMA grafted to LAD and LIMA grafted to LAD in terms of MGF, PI and DF. In situ skeletonized RIMA did not increase blood flow compared to pedicled LIMA.

Background: The global burden of digestive cancer is expected to increase. Therefore, crucial for the prognosis of patients with these tumors is to identify early diagnostic markers or novel therapeutic targets. There is accumulating evidence connecting histone chaperones to the pathogenesis of digestive cancer. Histone chaperones are now broadly defined as a class of proteins that bind histones and regulate nucleosome assembly. Recent studies have demonstrated that multiple histone chaperones are aberrantly expressed and have distinct roles in digestive cancers. Objective: The purpose of this review is to present the current evidence regarding the role of histone chaperones in digestive cancer, particularly their mechanism in the development and progression of esophageal, gastric, liver, pancreatic, and colorectal cancers. In addition, the prognostic significance of particular histone chaperones in patients with digestive cancer is discussed. Methods: According to PRISMA guidelines, we searched the PubMed, Embase, and MEDLINE databases to identify studies on histone chaperones and digestive cancer from inception until June 2022. Results: A total of 104 studies involving 21 histone chaperones were retrieved. Conclusions: This review confirms the roles and mechanisms of selected histone chaperones in digestive cancer and suggests their significance as potential prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets. However, due to their non-specificity, more research on histone chaperones should be conducted in the future to elucidate novel strategies of histone chaperones for prognosis and treatment of digestive cancer.

Background It is inconclusive whether R1 margin determined by postoperative pathological examination indicates worse long-term survival in gastric cancer (GC) patients after curative intent resection (CIR). Hence, we aimed to systematically pool the conflicting evidence to fill this gap. Methods The present study was performed according to the published protocol and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement. Published studies examining the impact of microscopic margin status on overall survival (OS) and 5-year OS rate in GC were systematically searched in PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases. RevMan 5.3 was used to conduct statistical analysis, and the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluations approach was used to assess the certainty of evidence for each outcome. Results Twenty-three retrospective cohort studies including 19 992 patients were analyzed. The pooled hazard ratio for OS of 14 studies was 2.06 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.61–2.65, low certainty), indicating that R1 margin predicted inferior OS. Subgroup and sensitivity analyses upheld the statistical stability of this finding. The pooled odds ratio (OR) of 14 studies was .21 (95% CI: .17–.26, moderate certainty), demonstrating that the presence of R1 margins was associated with a poorer 5-year OS rate. Sensitivity analyses and most of the subgroup analyses confirmed this finding, except the “esophagogastric junction (EGJ) cancers” subgroup, which included two studies with a pooled OR of .41 (95% CI: .10–1.61). Conclusion R1 margin detected by pathological examination might exhibit a high correlation with poorer OS and 5-year OS rate in GC (except EGJ cancers) patients who underwent CIR. To figure out the effect of R1 margin on survival of different stages and histological types need prospective studies with large sample sizes and standardized methods. What is the best treatment for R1 margin patients also need more in-depth and special research.

ABSTRACT: For the solid blanket concept of helium cooled ceramic breeder (HCCB) demonstration fusion power plant (DEMO), a feasible blanket structure with configuration 2×X is proposed as considering relatively low temperature limit of neutron multiplier beryllium pebbles. Based on that, preliminary design for the typical blanket module of HCCB DEMO has been carried out and verified by thermal-hydraulic analysis and structural analysis. Furthermore, the specific relationship of maximum temperature depended on the surface heating of blanket key part first wall (FW) is also analyzed. Microelectromechanical system (MEMS) pressure sensors have a wide range of applications based on the advantages of mature technology and easy integration. Among them, piezoresistive sensors have attracted great attention with the advantage of simple back-end processing circuits. However, less research has been reported on the performance of piezoresistive pressure sensors in dynamic environments, especially considering the vibrations and shocks frequently encountered during the application of the sensors. To address these issues, this paper proposes a design method for a MEMS piezoresistive pressure sensor, and the fabricated sensor is evaluated in a series of systematic dynamic environmental adaptability tests. After testing, the output sensitivity of the sensor chip was 9.21 mV∙bar−1, while the nonlinearity was 0.069% FSS. The sensor overreacts to rapidly changing pressure environments and can withstand acceleration shocks of up to 20× g. In addition, the sensor is capable of providing normal output over the vibration frequency range of 0–5000 Hz with a temperature coefficient sensitivity of −0.30% FSS °C−1 over the temperature range of 0–80 °C. Our proposed sensor can play a key role in applications with wide pressure ranges, high-frequency vibrations, and high acceleration shocks, as well as guide MEMS-based pressure sensors in high pressure ranges and complex environmental adaptability in their design.

This work proposes a design for a direct-reading conductivity sensor with a parallel symmetrical four-electrode structure, which integrates a silicon-based platinum thin-film strip electrode and a serpentine temperature compensation electrode. The optimal structural parameters of the electrode were determined by finite element simulations performed via COMSOL Multiphysics. Next, the designed conductivity sensor chip was fabricated using MEMS technology, and subsequently, the conductivity measurement circuit was designed to test the fabricated sensor’s performance. In laboratory tests, the optimal AC excitation frequency was observed to be 1.067 kHz, while the maximum measurement range was 0–107.41 mS/cm and the measurement precision in low concentration range (0–76.422 mS/cm) was ±0.1 mS/cm. Furthermore, the maximum measurement error of the sensor evaluated using the National Center of Ocean Standards and Metrology was ±0.073 mS/cm. The designed sensor possesses the characteristics of high accuracy, high range, and miniaturization, and enables real-time reading of conductivity value and temperature compensation, which is of great significance for the on-site observation of the physical parameters of marine environment.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are considered insensitive to radiotherapy. However, a growing number of case reports and case series have shown that some lesions treated by radiotherapy achieved an objective response. The aim of the study was to perform a systematic review of all reported cases, case series, and clinical studies of GISTs treated with radiotherapy to reevaluate the role of radiotherapy in GISTs. A systematic search of the English-written literature was conducted using PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase databases. Overall, 41 articles describing 112 patients were retrieved. The included articles were of low to moderate quality. Bone was the most common site treated by radiotherapy, followed by the abdomen. In order to exclude the influence of effective tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), a subgroup analysis was conducted on whether and which TKIs were concurrently applied with radiotherapy. Results showed that radiotherapy alone or combined with resistant TKIs could help achieve objective response in selected patients with advanced or metastatic GISTs; however, survival benefits were not observed in the included studies. Pain was the most common symptom in symptomatic GISTs, followed by neurological dysfunction and bleeding. The symptom palliation rate was 78.6% after excluding the influence of effective TKIs. The adverse reactions were mainly graded 1–2. Radiotherapy was generally well-tolerated. Overall, radiotherapy may relieve symptoms for GIST patients with advanced or metastatic lesions and even help achieve objective response in selected patients without significantly reducing the quality of life. In addition to bone metastases, fixed abdominal lesions may be treated by radiotherapy. Publication bias and insufficient quality of included studies were the main limitations in this review. Further clinical studies are needed and justified.

Landslide susceptibility mapping is very important for landslide risk evaluation and land use planning. Toward this end, this paper presents a case study in Ningqiang County, Shanxi Province, China. Slope units were selected as the basic mapping units. A traditional statistical certainty factor model (CF), a machine learning support vector machine model (SVM) and random forest model (RF), along with a hybrid CF-SVM model and a CF-RF model were applied to analyze landslide susceptibility. Firstly, 10 landslide conditioning factors were selected, namely slope-angle, altitude, slope aspect, degree of relief, lithology, distance to rivers, distance to faults, distance to roads, average annual rainfall and normalized difference vegetation index. The 23,169 slope units were generated from a Digital Elevation Model and the corresponding 10 conditioning factor layers were produced from both geological and geographical data. Then, landslide susceptibility mapping was carried out using the five models, respectively. Next, the landslide density (LD), frequency ratio (FR), the area under the curve (AUC) and other indicators were used to validate the rationality, performance and accuracy of the models. The results showed that the susceptibility maps produced from the different models were all reasonable. In each map, the LD and FR were greatest in the zones classed as having very high landslide susceptibility, followed by the high, moderate, low and very low landslide susceptibility classes, respectively. From the comparison of the different maps and ROC curves, the RF model based on slope units was the most appropriate for landslide susceptibility mapping in the study area. It was also found that the combination of weaker learner model (CF model here) with a stronger learner model (SVM and RF model here) can impact the applicability of the stronger model.

Clinically, fractional flow reserve (FFR)-guided coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is more effective than CABG guided by coronary angiography alone. However, no scholars have explained the mechanism from the perspective of hemodynamics. Two patients were clinically selected; their angiography showed 70% coronary stenosis, and the FFRs were 0.7 (patient 1) and 0.95 (patient 2). The FFR non-invasive computational model of the two patients was constructed by a 0–3D coupled multiscaled model, in order to verify that the model can accurately calculate the FFR results. Virtual bypass surgery was performed on these two stenoses, and a CABG multiscaled model was constructed. The flow rate of the graft and the stenosis coronary artery, as well as the wall shear stress (WSS) and the oscillatory shear index (OSI) in the graft were calculated. The non-invasive calculation results of FFR are 0.67 and 0.91, which are close to the clinical results, which proves that our model is accurate. According to the CABG model, the flow ratios of the stenosis coronary artery to the graft of patient 1 and patient 2 were 0.12 and 0.42, respectively. The time-average wall shear stress (TAWSS) results of patient 1 and patient 2 grafts were 2.09 and 2.16 Pa, respectively, and WSS showed uniform distribution on the grafts. The OSI results of patients 1 and 2 grafts were 0.0375 and 0.1264, respectively, and a significantly high OSI region appeared at the anastomosis of patient 2. The FFR value of the stenosis should be considered when performing bypass surgery. When the stenosis of high FFR values is grafted, a high OSI region is created at the graft, especially at the anastomosis. In the long term, this can cause anastomotic blockage and graft failure.

The purpose of this study was to identify individual and residency program factors associated with increased suicide risk, as measured by suicidal ideation. We utilized a prospective, longitudinal cohort study design to assess the prevalence and predictors of suicidal ideation in 6,691 (2012-2014 cohorts, training data set) and 4,904 (2015 cohort, test data set) first-year training physicians (interns) at hospital systems across the United States. We assessed suicidal ideation two months before internship and then quarterly through intern year. The prevalence of reported suicidal ideation in the study population increased from 3.0% at baseline to a mean of 6.9% during internship. 16.4% of interns reported suicidal ideation at least once during their internship. In the training dataset, a series of baseline demographic (male gender) and psychological factors (high neuroticism, depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation) were associated with increased risk of suicidal ideation during internship. Further, prior quarter psychiatric symptoms (depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation) and concurrent work-related factors (increase in self-reported work hours and medical errors) were associated with increased risk of suicidal ideation. A model derived from the training dataset had a predicted area under the Receiver Operating Characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.83 in the test dataset. The suicidal ideation risk predictors analyzed in this study can help programs and interns identify those at risk for suicidal ideation before the onset of training. Further, increases in self-reported work hours and environments associated with increased medical errors are potentially modifiable factors for residency programs to target to reduce suicide risk.
