The unique anisotropic properties of colloidal quantum wells (CQWs) make them highly promising as components in nanocrystal-based devices. However, the limited performance of green and blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs) based on CQWs has impeded their practical applications. In this study, we tailored alloy CdZnSe core CQWs with precise compositions via direct cation exchange (CE) from CdSe CQWs with specific size, shape, and crystal structure and utilized hot-injection shell (HIS) growth to synthesize CdZnSe/ZnS core/shell CQWs exhibiting exceptional optoelectronic characteristics. This approach enabled us to successfully fabricate green and blue LEDs manifesting superior performance compared to previously reported solution-processed CQW-LEDs. Our devices demonstrated a remarkable peak external quantum efficiency (20.4% for green and 10.6% for blue), accompanied by a maximum brightness 347,683 cd m-2 for green and 38,063 cd m-2 for blue. The high-performance represents a significant advancement for nanocrystal-based light-emitting diodes (Nc-LEDs) incorporating anisotropic nanocrystals. The vision-language tracking task aims to perform object tracking based on various modality references. Existing Transformer-based vision-language tracking methods have made remarkable progress by leveraging the global modeling ability of self-attention. However, current approaches still face challenges in effectively exploiting the temporal information and dynamically updating reference features during tracking. Recently, the State Space Model (SSM), known as Mamba, has shown astonishing ability in efficient long-sequence modeling. Particularly, its state space evolving process demonstrates promising capabilities in memorizing multimodal temporal information with linear complexity. Witnessing its success, we propose a Mamba-based vision-language tracking model to exploit its state space evolving ability in temporal space for robust multimodal tracking, dubbed MambaVLT. In particular, our approach mainly integrates a time-evolving hybrid state space block and a selective locality enhancement block, to capture contextual information for multimodal modeling and adaptive reference feature update. Besides, we introduce a modality-selection module that dynamically adjusts the weighting between visual and language references, mitigating potential ambiguities from either reference type. Extensive experimental results show that our method performs favorably against state-of-the-art trackers across diverse benchmarks.

Dirac notation is widely used in quantum physics and quantum programming languages to define, compute and reason about quantum states. This paper considers Dirac notation from the perspective of automated reasoning. We prove two main results: first, the first-order theory of Dirac notation is decidable, by a reduction to the theory of real closed fields and Tarski's theorem. Then, we prove that validity of equations can be decided efficiently, using term-rewriting techniques. With the advancement of artificial intelligence, 3D human pose estimation-based systems for sports training and posture correction have gained significant attention in adolescent sports. However, existing methods face challenges in handling complex movements, providing real-time feedback, and accommodating diverse postures, particularly with occlusions, rapid movements, and the resource constraints of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, making it difficult to balance accuracy and real-time performance. To address these issues, we propose GTA-Net, an intelligent system for posture correction and real-time feedback in adolescent sports, integrated within an IoT-enabled environment. This model enhances pose estimation in dynamic scenes by incorporating Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN), Temporal Convolutional Networks (TCN), and Hierarchical Attention mechanisms, achieving real-time correction through IoT devices. Experimental results show GTA-Net's superior performance on Human3.6M, HumanEva-I, and MPI-INF-3DHP datasets, with Mean Per Joint Position Error (MPJPE) values of 32.2mm, 15.0mm, and 48.0mm, respectively, significantly outperforming existing methods. The model also demonstrates strong robustness in complex scenarios, maintaining high accuracy even with occlusions and rapid movements. This research focuses on real-time monitoring and analysis of track and field athletes, addressing the limitations of traditional monitoring systems in terms of real-time performance and accuracy. We propose an IoT-optimized system that integrates edge computing and deep learning algorithms. Traditional systems often experience delays and reduced accuracy when handling complex motion data, whereas our method, by incorporating a SAC-optimized deep learning model within the IoT architecture, achieves efficient motion recognition and real-time feedback. Experimental results show that this system significantly outperforms traditional methods in response time, data processing accuracy, and energy efficiency, particularly excelling in complex track and field events. The rapid development of large language models (LLMs), like ChatGPT, has resulted in the widespread presence of LLM-generated content on social media platforms, raising concerns about misinformation, data biases, and privacy violations, which can undermine trust in online discourse. While detecting LLM-generated content is crucial for mitigating these risks, current methods often focus on binary classification, failing to address the complexities of real-world scenarios like human-AI collaboration. To move beyond binary classification and address these challenges, we propose a new paradigm for detecting LLM-generated content. This approach introduces two novel tasks: LLM Role Recognition (LLM-RR), a multi-class classification task that identifies specific roles of LLM in content generation, and LLM Influence Measurement (LLM-IM), a regression task that quantifies the extent of LLM involvement in content creation. To support these tasks, we propose LLMDetect, a benchmark designed to evaluate detectors' performance on these new tasks. LLMDetect includes the Hybrid News Detection Corpus (HNDC) for training detectors, as well as DetectEval, a comprehensive evaluation suite that considers five distinct cross-context variations and multi-intensity variations within the same LLM role. This allows for a thorough assessment of detectors' generalization and robustness across diverse contexts. Our empirical validation of 10 baseline detection methods demonstrates that fine-tuned PLM-based models consistently outperform others on both tasks, while advanced LLMs face challenges in accurately detecting their own generated content. Our experimental results and analysis offer insights for developing more effective detection models for LLM-generated content. Polaronic effects involving stabilization of localized charge character by structural deformations and polarizations have attracted considerable investigations in soft lattice lead halide perovskites. However, the concept of polaron assisted nonlinear photonics remains largely unexplored, which has a wide range of applications from optoelectronics to telecommunications and quantum technologies. Here, we report the first observation of the polaronic state assisted saturable absorption through subbandgap excitation with a redshift exceeding 60 meV. By combining photoluminescence, transient absorption measurements and density functional theory calculations, we explicate that the anomalous nonlinear saturable absorption is caused by the transient picosecond timescale polaronic state formed by strong carrier exciton phonon coupling effect. The bandgap fluctuation can be further tuned through exciton phonon coupling of perovskites with different Young's modulus. This suggests that we can design targeted soft lattice lead halide perovskite with a specific structure to effectively manipulate exciton phonon coupling and exciton polaron formation. These findings profoundly expand our understanding of exciton polaronic nonlinear optics physics and provide an ideal platform for developing actively tunable nonlinear photonics applications.

We generalized Herrera's definition of complexity factor for static spherically symmetric fluid distributions to Rastall-Rainbow theory of gravity. For this purpose, an energy-dependent equation of motion is employed in accordance with the principle of gravity's rainbow. It is found that the complexity factor appears in the orthogonal splitting of the Riemann curvature tensor, and measures the deviation of the value of the active gravitational mass from the simplest system under the combined corrections of Rastall and rainbow. In the low-energy limit, all the results we have obtained reduce to the counterparts of general relativity when the non-conserved parameter is taken to be one. We also demonstrate how to build an anisotropic or isotropic star model using complexity approach. In particular, the vanishing complexity factor condition in Rastall-Rainbow gravity is exactly the same as that derived in general relativity. Large Multimodal Models (LMMs) have achieved significant progress by extending large language models. Building on this progress, the latest developments in LMMs demonstrate the ability to generate dense pixel-wise segmentation through the integration of segmentation models.Despite the innovations, the textual responses and segmentation masks of existing works remain at the instance level, showing limited ability to perform fine-grained understanding and segmentation even provided with detailed textual cues.To overcome this limitation, we introduce a Multi-Granularity Large Multimodal Model (MGLMM), which is capable of seamlessly adjusting the granularity of Segmentation and Captioning (SegCap) following user instructions, from panoptic SegCap to fine-grained SegCap. We name such a new task Multi-Granularity Segmentation and Captioning (MGSC). Observing the lack of a benchmark for model training and evaluation over the MGSC task, we establish a benchmark with aligned masks and captions in multi-granularity using our customized automated annotation pipeline. This benchmark comprises 10K images and more than 30K image-question pairs. We will release our dataset along with the implementation of our automated dataset annotation pipeline for further research.Besides, we propose a novel unified SegCap data format to unify heterogeneous segmentation datasets; it effectively facilitates learning to associate object concepts with visual features during multi-task training. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our MGLMM excels at tackling more than eight downstream tasks and achieves state-of-the-art performance in MGSC, GCG, image captioning, referring segmentation, multiple and empty segmentation, and reasoning segmentation tasks. We provide well-founded semantics for a quantum programming language Qwhile-hp with heap manipulations, where allocation statements follow a dirty pattern, meaning that newly allocated qubits can nondeterministically assume arbitrary initial states. To thoroughly characterize heap manipulations in the quantum setting, we develop a quantum BI-style logic that includes interpretations for separating implication ($-\mkern-3mu*$) and separating conjunction ($*$). We then adopt this quantum BI-style logic as an assertion language to reason about heap-manipulated quantum programs and present a quantum separation logic which is sound and relatively complete. Finally, we apply our framework to verify the correctness of various practical quantum programs and to prove the correct usage of dirty ancilla qubits.

Recent works have demonstrated the effectiveness of retrieval augmentation in the Event Argument Extraction (EAE) task. However, existing retrieval-based EAE methods have two main limitations: (1) input length constraints and (2) the gap between the retriever and the inference model. These issues limit the diversity and quality of the retrieved information. In this paper, we propose a Compressive Memory-based Retrieval (CMR) mechanism for EAE, which addresses the two limitations mentioned above. Our compressive memory, designed as a dynamic matrix that effectively caches retrieved information and supports continuous updates, overcomes the limitations of the input length. Additionally, after pre-loading all candidate demonstrations into the compressive memory, the model further retrieves and filters relevant information from memory based on the input query, bridging the gap between the retriever and the inference model. Extensive experiments show that our method achieves new state-of-the-art performance on three public datasets (RAMS, WikiEvents, ACE05), significantly outperforming existing retrieval-based EAE methods., Comment: 15 pages

Visual Question Answering (VQA) is a challenging task that requires systems to provide accurate answers to questions based on image content. Current VQA models struggle with complex questions due to limitations in capturing and integrating multimodal information effectively. To address these challenges, we propose the Rank VQA model, which leverages a ranking-inspired hybrid training strategy to enhance VQA performance. The Rank VQA model integrates high-quality visual features extracted using the Faster R-CNN model and rich semantic text features obtained from a pre-trained BERT model. These features are fused through a sophisticated multimodal fusion technique employing multi-head self-attention mechanisms. Additionally, a ranking learning module is incorporated to optimize the relative ranking of answers, thus improving answer accuracy. The hybrid training strategy combines classification and ranking losses, enhancing the model's generalization ability and robustness across diverse datasets. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the Rank VQA model. Our model significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art models on standard VQA datasets, including VQA v2.0 and COCO-QA, in terms of both accuracy and Mean Reciprocal Rank (MRR). The superior performance of Rank VQA is evident in its ability to handle complex questions that require understanding nuanced details and making sophisticated inferences from the image and text. We present InstantStyleGaussian, an innovative 3D style transfer method based on the 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) scene representation. By inputting a target-style image, it quickly generates new 3D GS scenes. Our method operates on pre-reconstructed GS scenes, combining diffusion models with an improved iterative dataset update strategy. It utilizes diffusion models to generate target style images, adds these new images to the training dataset, and uses this dataset to iteratively update and optimize the GS scenes, significantly accelerating the style editing process while ensuring the quality of the generated scenes. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our method ensures high-quality stylized scenes while offering significant advantages in style transfer speed and consistency.

The diverse isotopic anomalies of meteorites demonstrate that the protoplanetary disk was composed of components from different stellar sources, which mixed in the disk and formed the planetary bodies. However, the origin of the accretion materials of different planetary bodies and the cosmochemical relationship between these bodies remain ambiguous. The noncarbonaceous (NC) planetary bodies originate from the inner solar system and have isotopic compositions distinct from those of the carbonaceous (CC) bodies. We combined Ca, Ti, Cr, Fe, Ni, Mo, and Ru isotopic anomalies to develop a quantitative two-endmember mixing model of the NC bodies. Correlations of the isotopic anomalies of different elements with different cosmochemical behaviors originate from the mixing of two common endmembers. Using this mixing model, we calculated the isotopic anomalies of NC bodies for all the considered isotopes, including the isotopic anomalies that are difficult to measure or have been altered by spallation processes. The mixing proportion between the two endmembers in each NC body has been calculated as a cosmochemical parameter, which represents the compositional relationship of the accretion materials between the NC bodies. Using the calculated mixing proportions, the feeding zones of the NC bodies could be estimated. The estimated feeding zones of NC bodies indicate a large population of interlopers in the main asteroid belt and an indigenous origin of Vesta. The feeding zones estimated in different planet formation scenarios indicate that the orbits of Jupiter and Saturn during formation of terrestrial planets were likely to be more circular than their current ones.

The mass-independent isotopic signatures of planetary bodies have been widely used to trace the mixing and transport processes in planet formation. The observed isotopic variations among meteorites have been further linked to the modeled mass-weighted mean initial semimajor axes, assuming a spatial isotopic gradient in the inner protoplanetary disk. However, nucleosynthetic isotopic anomalies of nonvolatile elements and mass-independent oxygen isotopic variation ($\Delta ^{17}$O) show different relationships with distance from the Sun. Therefore, it is crucial to know whether isotopes were distributed systematically with heliocentric distance. In this study, we performed N-body simulations on compositional mixing during the collisional accretion and migration of planetary bodies to investigate the spatial distributions of Cr and O isotopes in the inner protoplanetary disk. The modeled mass-weighted mean initial semimajor axes of the parent bodies of noncarbonaceous (NC) meteorites and terrestrial planets were used to calculate the isotopic compositions of these bodies. Our simulations successfully reproduced the observed nucleosynthetic Cr isotopic anomaly among Earth, Mars, and the NC meteorite parent bodies, consistent with a spatial gradient of isotopic anomalies in the inner disk. Asteroids originating from different regions in the inner disk were transported to the main belt in our simulations, resulting in the Cr isotopic anomaly variation of the NC meteorite parent bodies. However, the $\Delta ^{17}$O distribution among the terrestrial planets and the NC meteorite parent bodies could not be reproduced assuming a $\Delta ^{17}$O gradient. The absence of a $\Delta ^{17}$O gradient reflects that the oxygen isotopic mass-independent fractionation might have altered the spatial distribution of the nucleosynthetic $\Delta ^{17}$O variation before protoplanets formed.

Long time series forecasting aims to utilize historical information to forecast future states over extended horizons. Traditional RNN-based series forecasting methods struggle to effectively address long-term dependencies and gradient issues in long time series problems. Recently, SegRNN has emerged as a leading RNN-based model tailored for long-term series forecasting, demonstrating state-of-the-art performance while maintaining a streamlined architecture through innovative segmentation and parallel decoding techniques. Nevertheless, SegRNN has several limitations: its fixed segmentation disrupts data continuity and fails to effectively leverage information across different segments, the segmentation strategy employed by SegRNN does not fundamentally address the issue of information loss within the recurrent structure. To address these issues, we propose the ISMRNN method with three key enhancements: we introduce an implicit segmentation structure to decompose the time series and map it to segmented hidden states, resulting in denser information exchange during the segmentation phase. Additionally, we incorporate residual structures in the encoding layer to mitigate information loss within the recurrent structure. To extract information more effectively, we further integrate the Mamba architecture to enhance time series information extraction. Experiments on several real-world long time series forecasting datasets demonstrate that our model surpasses the performance of current state-of-the-art models.

Food is a rich and varied dimension of cultural heritage, crucial to both individuals and social groups. To bridge the gap in the literature on the often-overlooked regional diversity in this domain, we introduce FoodieQA, a manually curated, fine-grained image-text dataset capturing the intricate features of food cultures across various regions in China. We evaluate vision-language Models (VLMs) and large language models (LLMs) on newly collected, unseen food images and corresponding questions. FoodieQA comprises three multiple-choice question-answering tasks where models need to answer questions based on multiple images, a single image, and text-only descriptions, respectively. While LLMs excel at text-based question answering, surpassing human accuracy, the open-sourced VLMs still fall short by 41% on multi-image and 21% on single-image VQA tasks, although closed-weights models perform closer to human levels (within 10%). Our findings highlight that understanding food and its cultural implications remains a challenging and under-explored direction.

Understanding the reason for emotional support response is crucial for establishing connections between users and emotional support dialogue systems. Previous works mostly focus on generating better responses but ignore interpretability, which is extremely important for constructing reliable dialogue systems. To empower the system with better interpretability, we propose an emotional support response generation scheme, named $\textbf{E}$motion-Focused and $\textbf{S}$trategy-Driven $\textbf{C}$hain-$\textbf{o}$f-$\textbf{T}$hought ($\textbf{ESCoT}$), mimicking the process of $\textit{identifying}$, $\textit{understanding}$, and $\textit{regulating}$ emotions. Specially, we construct a new dataset with ESCoT in two steps: (1) $\textit{Dialogue Generation}$ where we first generate diverse conversation situations, then enhance dialogue generation using richer emotional support strategies based on these situations; (2) $\textit{Chain Supplement}$ where we focus on supplementing selected dialogues with elements such as emotion, stimuli, appraisal, and strategy reason, forming the manually verified chains. Additionally, we further develop a model to generate dialogue responses with better interpretability. We also conduct extensive experiments and human evaluations to validate the effectiveness of the proposed ESCoT and generated dialogue responses. We explore the bound neutrons decay into invisible particles (e.g., $n\rightarrow 3 \nu$ or $nn \rightarrow 2 \nu$) in the JUNO liquid scintillator detector. The invisible decay includes two decay modes: $ n \rightarrow { inv} $ and $ nn \rightarrow { inv} $. The invisible decays of $s$-shell neutrons in $^{12}{\rm C}$ will leave a highly excited residual nucleus. Subsequently, some de-excitation modes of the excited residual nuclei can produce a time- and space-correlated triple coincidence signal in the JUNO detector. Based on a full Monte Carlo simulation informed with the latest available data, we estimate all backgrounds, including inverse beta decay events of the reactor antineutrino $\bar{\nu}_e$, natural radioactivity, cosmogenic isotopes and neutral current interactions of atmospheric neutrinos. Pulse shape discrimination and multivariate analysis techniques are employed to further suppress backgrounds. With two years of exposure, JUNO is expected to give an order of magnitude improvement compared to the current best limits. Cardiac computed tomography (CT) has emerged as a major imaging modality for the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiovascular diseases. High temporal resolution is essential to ensure diagnostic accuracy. Limited-angle data acquisition can reduce scan time and improve temporal resolution, but typically leads to severe image degradation and motivates for improved reconstruction techniques. In this paper, we propose a novel physics-informed score-based diffusion model (PSDM) for limited-angle reconstruction of cardiac CT. At the sampling time, we combine a data prior from a diffusion model and a model prior obtained via an iterative algorithm and Fourier fusion to further enhance the image quality. Specifically, our approach integrates the primal-dual hybrid gradient (PDHG) algorithm with score-based diffusion models, thereby enabling us to reconstruct high-quality cardiac CT images from limited-angle data. Client selection significantly affects the system convergence efficiency and is a crucial problem in federated learning. Existing methods often select clients by evaluating each round individually and overlook the necessity for long-term optimization, resulting in suboptimal performance and potential fairness issues. In this study, we propose a novel client selection strategy designed to emulate the performance achieved with full client participation. In a single round, we select clients by minimizing the gradient-space estimation error between the client subset and the full client set. In multi-round selection, we introduce a novel individual fairness constraint, which ensures that clients with similar data distributions have similar frequencies of being selected. This constraint guides the client selection process from a long-term perspective. We employ Lyapunov optimization and submodular functions to efficiently identify the optimal subset of clients, and provide a theoretical analysis of the convergence ability. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed strategy significantly improves both accuracy and fairness compared to previous methods while also exhibiting efficiency by incurring minimal time overhead.

Multiple imputation (MI) models can be improved by including auxiliary covariates (AC), but their performance in high-dimensional data is not well understood. We aimed to develop and compare high-dimensional MI (HDMI) approaches using structured and natural language processing (NLP)-derived AC in studies with partially observed confounders. We conducted a plasmode simulation study using data from opioid vs. non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) initiators (X) with observed serum creatinine labs (Z2) and time-to-acute kidney injury as outcome. We simulated 100 cohorts with a null treatment effect, including X, Z2, atrial fibrillation (U), and 13 other investigator-derived confounders (Z1) in the outcome generation. We then imposed missingness (MZ2) on 50% of Z2 measurements as a function of Z2 and U and created different HDMI candidate AC using structured and NLP-derived features. We mimicked scenarios where U was unobserved by omitting it from all AC candidate sets. Using LASSO, we data-adaptively selected HDMI covariates associated with Z2 and MZ2 for MI, and with U to include in propensity score models. The treatment effect was estimated following propensity score matching in MI datasets and we benchmarked HDMI approaches against a baseline imputation and complete case analysis with Z1 only. HDMI using claims data showed the lowest bias (0.072). Combining claims and sentence embeddings led to an improvement in the efficiency displaying the lowest root-mean-squared-error (0.173) and coverage (94%). NLP-derived AC alone did not perform better than baseline MI. HDMI approaches may decrease bias in studies with partially observed confounders where missingness depends on unobserved factors.

The crux of Referring Video Object Segmentation (RVOS) lies in modeling dense text-video relations to associate abstract linguistic concepts with dynamic visual contents at pixel-level. Current RVOS methods typically use vision and language models pretrained independently as backbones. As images and texts are mapped to uncoupled feature spaces, they face the arduous task of learning Vision-Language (VL) relation modeling from scratch. Witnessing the success of Vision-Language Pretrained (VLP) models, we propose to learn relation modeling for RVOS based on their aligned VL feature space. Nevertheless, transferring VLP models to RVOS is a deceptively challenging task due to the substantial gap between the pretraining task (static image/region-level prediction) and the RVOS task (dynamic pixel-level prediction). To address this transfer challenge, we introduce a framework named VLP-RVOS which harnesses VLP models for RVOS through temporal-aware adaptation. We first propose a temporal-aware prompt-tuning method, which not only adapts pretrained representations for pixel-level prediction but also empowers the vision encoder to model temporal contexts. We further customize a cube-frame attention mechanism for robust spatial-temporal reasoning. Besides, we propose to perform multi-stage VL relation modeling while and after feature extraction for comprehensive VL understanding. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method performs favorably against state-of-the-art algorithms and exhibits strong generalization abilities.

A resonant chain may be formed in a multi-planetary system when ratios of the orbital periods can be expressed as ratios of small integers $T_1:T_2: \cdots :T_N=k_1: k_2: \cdots: k_N$. We investigate the dynamics and possible formation of resonant chain. The appropriate Hamiltonian for a three-planet resonant chain is defined and numerically averaged over the synodic period. The stable stationary solutions (apsidal corotational resonance, ACR) of this system, corresponding to the local extrema of Hamiltonian function, can be searched out numerically. The topology of the Hamiltonian around these ACRs reveals their stabilities. We further construct dynamical maps on representative planes to study the dynamics, and we calculate the deviation ($\chi^2$) of the resonant angle from the uniformly distributed values. Finally, the formation of resonant chain via convergent migration is simulated and stable configurations associated with ACRs are verified. We find that stable ACR families arising from circular orbits always exist for any resonant chain, and they may extend to high eccentricity. Around ACR solutions, regular motion are found in two types of resonant configurations. One is characterised by libration of both the two-body resonant angles and the three-body Laplace resonant angle, and the other by libration of only two-body resonant angles. The Laplace resonance seems not to contribute much to the stability. The resonant chain can be formed via convergent migration, and subsequently the resonant configuration evolves along the ACR families to eccentric orbits. The 1:N mean motion resonances with Neptune are of particular interest because they have two asymmetric resonance islands, where the distribution of trapped objects may bear important clues to the history of the Solar System. To explore the dynamics of these resonances and to investigate whether the imprints left by the early stage evolution can be preserved in the resonances, we conduct a comprehensive analyses on the 1:2 and 1:3 resonances. Adopt mainly the frequency analysis method, we calculate the proper frequencies of the motion of objects in the resonances, with which the secular mechanisms that influence the dynamics are determined. Use the spectral number as an indicator of orbital regularity, we construct dynamical maps on representative planes. By comparing the structures in the maps with the locations of the secular mechanisms, we find that the von-Zeipel-Lidov-Kozai mechanism and the $g=2s$ mechanism destabilize the influenced orbits and portray the overall structure of the 1:2 and 1:3 resonances. The secular resonance $2g-s=s_8$ opens a channel for objects to switch between the leading and trailing resonance islands, which can alter the population ratio between these two islands. The secondary resonances associated with the quasi 2:1 resonance between Uranus and Neptune are also detected, and they introduce more chaos to the motion. The fine dynamical structures of the 1:2 and 1:3 resonances revealed in this paper, combined with knowledge of resonant capture, provide a compelling explanation for the eccentricity distribution of observed Twotinos. Recent mainstream event argument extraction methods process each event in isolation, resulting in inefficient inference and ignoring the correlations among multiple events. To address these limitations, here we propose a multiple-event argument extraction model DEEIA (Dependency-guided Encoding and Event-specific Information Aggregation), capable of extracting arguments from all events within a document simultaneouslyThe proposed DEEIA model employs a multi-event prompt mechanism, comprising DE and EIA modules. The DE module is designed to improve the correlation between prompts and their corresponding event contexts, whereas the EIA module provides event-specific information to improve contextual understanding. Extensive experiments show that our method achieves new state-of-the-art performance on four public datasets (RAMS, WikiEvents, MLEE, and ACE05), while significantly saving the inference time compared to the baselines. Recent studies have highlighted the presence of cultural biases in Large Language Models (LLMs), yet often lack a robust methodology to dissect these phenomena comprehensively. Our work aims to bridge this gap by delving into the Food domain, a universally relevant yet culturally diverse aspect of human life. We introduce FmLAMA, a multilingual dataset centered on food-related cultural facts and variations in food practices. We analyze LLMs across various architectures and configurations, evaluating their performance in both monolingual and multilingual settings. By leveraging templates in six different languages, we investigate how LLMs interact with language-specific and cultural knowledge. Our findings reveal that (1) LLMs demonstrate a pronounced bias towards food knowledge prevalent in the United States; (2) Incorporating relevant cultural context significantly improves LLMs' ability to access cultural knowledge; (3) The efficacy of LLMs in capturing cultural nuances is highly dependent on the interplay between the probing language, the specific model architecture, and the cultural context in question. Data generation is recognized as a potent strategy for unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) pertaining semantic segmentation in adverse weathers. Nevertheless, these adverse weather scenarios encompass multiple possibilities, and high-fidelity data synthesis with controllable weather is under-researched in previous UDA works. The recent strides in large-scale text-to-image diffusion models (DM) have ushered in a novel avenue for research, enabling the generation of realistic images conditioned on semantic labels. This capability proves instrumental for cross-domain data synthesis from source to target domain owing to their shared label space. Thus, source domain labels can be paired with those generated pseudo target data for training UDA. However, from the UDA perspective, there exists several challenges for DM training: (i) ground-truth labels from target domain are missing; (ii) the prompt generator may produce vague or noisy descriptions of images from adverse weathers; (iii) existing arts often struggle to well handle the complex scene structure and geometry of urban scenes when conditioned only on semantic labels. To tackle the above issues, we propose ControlUDA, a diffusion-assisted framework tailored for UDA segmentation under adverse weather conditions. It first leverages target prior from a pre-trained segmentor for tuning the DM, compensating the missing target domain labels; It also contains UDAControlNet, a condition-fused multi-scale and prompt-enhanced network targeted at high-fidelity data generation in adverse weathers. Training UDA with our generated data brings the model performances to a new milestone (72.0 mIoU) on the popular Cityscapes-to-ACDC benchmark for adverse weathers. Furthermore, ControlUDA helps to achieve good model generalizability on unseen data.

In this paper, we first establish the separation theorem between a point and a locally geodesic convex set and then prove the existence of a supporting quasi-hyperplane at any point on the boundary of the closed locally geodesic convex set on a Riemannian manifold. As applications, some optimality conditions are obtained for optimization problems with constraints on Riemannian manifolds.

While Transformer-based pre-trained language models and their variants exhibit strong semantic representation capabilities, the question of comprehending the information gain derived from the additional components of PLMs remains an open question in this field. Motivated by recent efforts that prove Multilayer-Perceptrons (MLPs) modules achieving robust structural capture capabilities, even outperforming Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), this paper aims to quantify whether simple MLPs can further enhance the already potent ability of PLMs to capture linguistic information. Specifically, we design a simple yet effective probing framework containing MLPs components based on BERT structure and conduct extensive experiments encompassing 10 probing tasks spanning three distinct linguistic levels. The experimental results demonstrate that MLPs can indeed enhance the comprehension of linguistic structure by PLMs. Our research provides interpretable and valuable insights into crafting variations of PLMs utilizing MLPs for tasks that emphasize diverse linguistic structures., Comment: Accepted by ICASSP 2024
