6. MCDHGN: heterogeneous network-based cancer driver gene prediction and interpretability analysis.

Abstract

Motivation Accurately predicting the driver genes of cancer is of great significance for carcinogenesis progress research and cancer treatment. In recent years, more and more deep-learning-based methods have been used for predicting cancer driver genes. However, deep-learning algorithms often have black box properties and cannot interpret the output results. Here, we propose a novel cancer driver gene mining method based on heterogeneous network meta-paths (MCDHGN), which uses meta-path aggregation to enhance the interpretability of predictions. Results MCDHGN constructs a heterogeneous network by using several types of multi-omics data that are biologically linked to genes. And the differential probabilities of SNV, DNA methylation, and gene expression data between cancerous tissues and normal tissues are extracted as initial features of genes. Nine meta-paths are manually selected, and the representation vectors obtained by aggregating information within and across meta-path nodes are used as new features for subsequent classification and prediction tasks. By comparing with eight homogeneous and heterogeneous network models on two pan-cancer datasets, MCDHGN has better performance on AUC and AUPR values. Additionally, MCDHGN provides interpretability of predicted cancer driver genes through the varying weights of biologically meaningful meta-paths. Abstract

The article researches is devoted to five core personality traits. Evidence of this theory has been grow-ing for many years, beginning with the research of D. W. Fiske (1949) and later expanded upon by other researchers including Norman (1967), Smith (1967), Goldberg (1981), and McCrae & Costa (1987). The «Big five» are broad categories of personality traits. While there is a significant body of literature supporting this five-traits model of personality, researchers don’t always agree on the exact labels for each dimension. It is important to note that each of the five personality traits represents a range between two extremes. For ex¬ample, extraversion represents a continuum between extreme extraversion and extreme introversion. In the real world, most people lie somewhere in between the two polar ends of each dimension. In the world of psychology research, personality is a little more complicated. The definition of personality can be complex, and the way it is defined can influence how it is understood and measured. According to the researchers at the Personality Project, personality is: «the coherent pattern of affect, cognition, and desires (goals) as they lead to behavior» (Revelle, 2013). In the words of the American Psychological Association (APA), personality is: «individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving» (APA, 2017). Speech codec should keep good quality in various conditions such as diverse channel, different speakers and background noises. When transmission environment is poor and the channel coding could not effectively control error occurrences, error concealment will be applied. Generally speaking, error concealment is based on extrapolation method or repetition method in which the speech coding parameters are extrapolated or repeated from the parameters of the surrounding good frame received. This paper focuses on speech coding standard Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) and two points are discussed: the value of pitch lag when consecutive frames are lost and the recovery of codebook gain for good frames after continuous bad frames. Objective and subjective experimental results confirm that the proposed algorithm could achieve better speech quality.
