Early diagnosis and professional intervention can help children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) return to normal life. However, the scarcity and imbalance of professional medical resources currently prevent many autistic children from receiving the necessary diagnosis and intervention. Therefore, numerous paradigms have been proposed that use computer technology to assist or independently conduct ASD interventions, with the aim of alleviating the aforementioned problem. However, these paradigms often lack a foundation in clinical intervention methods and suffer from a lack of personalization. Addressing these concerns, we propose ASD-Chat, a social intervention system based on VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program) and powered by ChatGPT as the backbone for dialogue generation. Specifically, we designed intervention paradigms and prompts based on the clinical intervention method VB-MAPP and utilized ChatGPT's generative capabilities to facilitate social dialogue interventions. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed system achieves competitive intervention effects to those of professional interventionists, making it a promising tool for long-term interventions in real healthcare scenario in the future.

Manipulating quantum states is at the heart of quantum information processing and quantum metrology. Landau-Zener Rabi oscillation (LZRO), which arises from a quantum two-level system swept repeatedly across the avoided crossing point in the time domain, has been suggested for widespread use in manipulating quantum states. Cold atom is one of the most prominent platforms for quantum computing and precision measurement. However, LZRO has never been observed in cold atoms due to its stringent requirements. By compensating for the linear drift of the clock laser and optimizing experimental parameters, we successfully measured LZRO on the strontium atomic optical clock platform under both fast and slow passage limits within $4$ to $6$ driving periods. Compared to previous results on other platforms, the duration of the plateau is $10^4$ times longer in the optical lattice clock. The experimental data also suggest that destructive Landau-Zener interference can effectively suppress dephasing effects in the optical lattice clock, paving the way for manipulating quantum states against various environmental effects in cold atomic systems.

Real-time Bidding (RTB) advertisers wish to \textit{know in advance} the expected cost and yield of ad campaigns to avoid trial-and-error expenses. However, Campaign Performance Forecasting (CPF), a sequence modeling task involving tens of thousands of ad auctions, poses challenges of evolving user interest, auction representation, and long context, making coarse-grained and static-modeling methods sub-optimal. We propose \textit{AdVance}, a time-aware framework that integrates local auction-level and global campaign-level modeling. User preference and fatigue are disentangled using a time-positioned sequence of clicked items and a concise vector of all displayed items. Cross-attention, conditioned on the fatigue vector, captures the dynamics of user interest toward each candidate ad. Bidders compete with each other, presenting a complete graph similar to the self-attention mechanism. Hence, we employ a Transformer Encoder to compress each auction into embedding by solving auxiliary tasks. These sequential embeddings are then summarized by a conditional state space model (SSM) to comprehend long-range dependencies while maintaining global linear complexity. Considering the irregular time intervals between auctions, we make SSM's parameters dependent on the current auction embedding and the time interval. We further condition SSM's global predictions on the accumulation of local results. Extensive evaluations and ablation studies demonstrate its superiority over state-of-the-art methods. The structure of quantum mechanics forbids a bipartite scenario for masking quantum information, however, it allows multipartite maskers. The Latin squares are found to be closely related to a series of tripartite maskers. This adds another item, significantly different from the original no-cloning theorem, to the no-go theorems. On the other hand, anyonic excitations in two dimensions exhibit exotic collective behaviors of quantum physics, and open the avenue of fault-tolerant topological quantum computing. Here, we give the Latin-square construction of Abelian and Ising anyons %of in the Kitaev model and study the maskable space configuration in anyonic space. The circling and braiding of Kitaev anyons are masking operations on extended hyperdisks in anyonic space. This paper addresses the important need for advanced techniques in continuously allocating workloads on shared infrastructures in data centers, a problem arising due to the growing popularity and scale of cloud computing. It particularly emphasizes the scarcity of research ensuring guaranteed capacity in capacity reservations during large-scale failures. To tackle these issues, the paper presents scalable solutions for resource management. It builds on the prior establishment of capacity reservation in cluster management systems and the two-level resource allocation problem addressed by the Resource Allowance System (RAS). Recognizing the limitations of Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) for server assignment in a dynamic environment, this paper proposes the use of Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), which has been successful in achieving long-term optimal results for time-varying systems. A novel two-level design that utilizes a DRL-based algorithm is introduced to solve optimal server-to-reservation assignment, taking into account of fault tolerance, server movement minimization, and network affinity requirements due to the impracticality of directly applying DRL algorithms to large-scale instances with millions of decision variables. The paper explores the interconnection of these levels and the benefits of such an approach for achieving long-term optimal results in the context of large-scale cloud systems. We further show in the experiment section that our two-level DRL approach outperforms the MIP solver and heuristic approaches and exhibits significantly reduced computation time compared to the MIP solver. Specifically, our two-level DRL approach performs 15% better than the MIP solver on minimizing the overall cost. Also, it uses only 26 seconds to execute 30 rounds of decision making, while the MIP solver needs nearly an hour.

Detection of pulmonary nodules by CT is used for screening lung cancer in early stages.omputer aided diagnosis (CAD) based on deep-learning method can identify the suspected areas of pulmonary nodules in CT images, thus improving the accuracy and efficiency of CT diagnosis. The accuracy and robustness of deep learning models. Method:In this paper, we explore (1) the data augmentation method based on the generation model and (2) the model structure improvement method based on the embedding mechanism. Two strategies have been introduced in this study: a new data augmentation method and a embedding mechanism. In the augmentation method, a 3D pixel-level statistics algorithm is proposed to generate pulmonary nodule and by combing the faked pulmonary nodule and healthy lung, we generate new pulmonary nodule samples. The embedding mechanism are designed to better understand the meaning of pixels of the pulmonary nodule samples by introducing hidden variables. Result: The result of the 3DVNET model with the augmentation method for pulmonary nodule detection shows that the proposed data augmentation method outperforms the method based on generative adversarial network (GAN) framework, training accuracy improved by 1.5%, and with embedding mechanism for pulmonary nodules classification shows that the embedding mechanism improves the accuracy and robustness for the classification of pulmonary nodules obviously, the model training accuracy is close to 1 and the model testing F1-score is 0.90.Conclusion:he proposed data augmentation method and embedding mechanism are beneficial to improve the accuracy and robustness of the model, and can be further applied in other common diagnostic imaging tasks.

The bone age, reflecting the degree of development of the bones, can be used to predict the adult height and detect endocrine diseases of children. Both examinations of radiologists and variability of operators have a significant impact on bone age assessment. To decrease human intervention , machine learning algorithms are used to assess the bone age automatically. However, conventional supervised deep-learning methods need pre-labeled data. In this paper, based on the convolutional auto-encoder with constraints (CCAE), an unsupervised deep-learning model proposed in the classification of the fingerprint, we propose this model for the classification of the bone age and baptize it BA-CCAE. In the proposed BA-CCAE model, the key regions of the raw X-ray images of the bone age are encoded, yielding the latent vectors. The K-means clustering algorithm is used to obtain the final classifications by grouping the latent vectors of the bone images. A set of experiments on the Radiological Society of North America pediatric bone age dataset (RSNA) show that the accuracy of classifications at 48-month intervals is 76.15%. Although the accuracy now is lower than most of the existing supervised models, the proposed BA-CCAE model can establish the classification of bone age without any pre-labeled data, and to the best of our knowledge, the proposed BA-CCAE is one of the few trails using the unsupervised deep-learning method for the bone age assessment.

Abnormalities of the sewage pipe network will affect the normal operation of the whole city. Therefore, it is important to detect the abnormalities early. This paper propose an early abnormal-detection method. The abnormalities are detected by using the conventional algorithms, such as isolation forest algorithm, two innovations are given: (1) The current and historical data measured by the sensors placed in the sewage pipe network (such as ultrasonic Doppler flowmeter) are taken as the overall dataset, and then the general dataset is detected by using the conventional anomaly detection method to diagnose the anomaly of the data. The anomaly refers to the sample different from the others samples in the whole dataset. Because the definition of anomaly is not through the algorithm, but the whole dataset, the construction of the whole dataset is the key to propose the early abnormal-detection algorithms. (2) A bagging strategy for a variety of conventional anomaly detection algorithms is proposed to achieve the early detection of anomalies with the high precision and recall. The results show that this method can achieve the early anomaly detection with the highest precision of 98.21%, the recall rate 63.58% and F1-score of 0.774.

The main aim to build models capable of simulating the spreading of infectious diseases is to control them. And along this way, the key to find the optimal strategy for disease control is to obtain a large number of simulations of disease transitions under different scenarios. Therefore, the models that can simulate the spreading of diseases under scenarios closer to the reality and are with high efficiency are preferred. In the realistic social networks, the random contact, including contacts between people in the public places and the public transits, becomes the important access for the spreading of infectious diseases. In this paper, a model can efficiently simulate the spreading of infectious diseases under random contacts is proposed. In this approach, the random contact between people is characterized by the random matrix with elements randomly generated and the spread of the diseases is simulated by the Markov process. We report an interesting property of the proposed model: the main indicators of the spreading of the diseases such as the death rate are invariant of the size of the population. Therefore, representative simulations can be conducted on models consist of small number of populations. The main advantage of this model is that it can easily simulate the spreading of diseases under more realistic scenarios and thus is able to give a large number of simulations needed for the searching of the optimal control strategy. Based on this work, the reinforcement learning will be introduced to give the optimal control strategy in the following work.

The financial time series analysis is important access to touch the complex laws of financial markets. Among many goals of the financial time series analysis, one is to construct a model that can extract the information of the future return out of the known historical stock data, such as stock price, financial news, and e.t.c. To design such a model, prior knowledge on how the future return is correlated with the historical stock prices is needed. In this work, we focus on the issue: in what mode the future return is correlated with the historical stock prices. We manually design several financial time series where the future return is correlated with the historical stock prices in pre-designed modes, namely the curve-shape-feature (CSF) and the non-curve-shape-feature (NCSF) modes. In the CSF mode, the future return can be extracted from the curve shapes of the historical stock prices. By applying various kinds of existing algorithms on those pre-designed time series and real financial time series, we show that: (1) the major information of the future return is not contained in the curve-shape features of historical stock prices. That is, the future return is not mainly correlated with the historical stock prices in the CSF mode. (2) Various kinds of existing machine learning algorithms are good at extracting the curveshape features in the historical stock prices and thus are inappropriate for financial time series analysis although they are successful in the image recognition and natural language processing. That is, new models handling the NCSF series are needed in the financial time series analysis.

The fingerprint classification is an important and effective method to quicken the process and improve the accuracy in the fingerprint matching process. Conventional supervised methods need a large amount of pre-labeled data and thus consume immense human resources. In this paper, we propose a new and efficient unsupervised deep learning method that can extract fingerprint features and classify fingerprint patterns automatically. In this approach, a new model named constraint convolutional auto-encoder (CCAE) is used to extract fingerprint features and a hybrid clustering strategy is applied to obtain the final clusters. A set of experiments in the NIST-DB4 dataset shows that the proposed unsupervised method exhibits the efficient performance on fingerprint classification. For example, the CCAE achieves an accuracy of 97.3% on only 1000 unlabeled fingerprints in the NIST-DB4.

This work develops a multiphase thermomechanical model of porous silica aerogel and implements an uncertainty analysis framework consisting of the Sobol methods for global sensitivity analyses and Bayesian inference using a set of experimental data of silica aerogel. A notable feature of this work is implementing a new noise model within the Bayesian inversion to account for data uncertainty and modeling error. The hyper-parameters in the likelihood balance data misfit and prior contribution to the parameter posteriors and prevent their biased estimation. The results indicate that the uncertainty in solid conductivity and elasticity are the most influential parameters affecting the model output variance. Also, the Bayesian inference shows that despite the microstructural randomness in the thermal measurements, the model captures the data with 2% error. However, the model is inadequate in simulating the stress-strain measurements resulting in significant uncertainty in the computational prediction of a building insulation component., Comment: Jingye Tan and Pedram Maleki contributed equally to this work
