The Waring distribution is an important two-parameter discrete distribution, commonly used in fields such as ecology, linguistics, and information science, where heavy tails are often observed. In this paper, we propose a new goodness-of-fit test for the Waring distribution, which is established through the hazard rate and a linear equivalent definition of the Waring distribution. We establish an asymptotic Chi-square null distribution for the proposed test and show that it is more powerful than classical methods in simulation studies. Finally, we apply the test to analyze the authorships of published papers on computer science.

The focus of this paper is on estimating the stress concentration factor of circular hollow section KK-joints with different geometric parameters and subsequently assessing the effectiveness of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) wrapping for repairing joints with cracks. Different geometric parameters, such as θ (brace inclination angle), γ (the ratio of the outer diameter to the wall thickness of the chord), and τ (the thickness ratio of the brace to the chord), were studied to investigate changes in stress concentration using numerical simulation. The results indicated that the stress concentration factor was most sensitive to changes in θ, followed by γ. Subsequently, the effect of crack length and depth was analyzed to simulate cracks in joints subjected to reciprocating load. The results showed that changing D from T/16 to T/2 (where T is the thickness of the chord) can cause more stress concentration, with an average of 8.37%. Next, damaged joints were wrapped in carbon fiber-reinforced polymer as a repair. Analysis of the effects of different layers and directions of polymer wrap revealed that even six layers of wrapping effectively reduced the stress concentration compared to the initial model. Finally, based on the results of parametric analysis and nonlinear fitting, a calculation formula for the stress concentration factor suitable for KK-joints under axial loads is proposed.

Abstract Background The early accurate diagnoses for autoimmune encephalitis (AE) and infectious encephalitis (IE) are essential since the treatments for them are different. This study aims to discover some specific and sensitive biomarkers to distinguish AE from IE at early stage to give specific treatments for good outcomes. Results We compared the host gene expression profiles and microbial diversities of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from 41 patients with IE and 18 patients with AE through meta-transcriptomic sequencing. Significant differences were found in host gene expression profiles and microbial diversities in CSF between patients with AE and patients with IE. The most significantly upregulated genes in patients with IE were enriched in pathways related with immune response such as neutrophil degranulation, antigen processing and presentation and adaptive immune system. In contrast, those upregulated genes in patients with AE were mainly involved in sensory organ development such as olfactory transduction, as well as synaptic transmission and signaling. Based on the differentially expressed genes, a classifier consisting of 5 host genes showed outstanding performance with an area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) of 0.95. Conclusions This study provides a promising classifier and is the first to investigate transcriptomic signatures for differentiating AE from IE by using meta-transcriptomic next-generation sequencing technology.

The two-parameter Waring is an important heavy-tailed discrete distribution, which extends the famous Yule-Simon distribution and provides more flexibility when modelling the data. The commonly used EFF (Expectation-First Frequency) for parameter estimation can only be applied when the first moment exists, and it only uses the information of the expectation and the first frequency, which is not as efficient as the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE). However, the MLE may not exist for some sample data. We apply the profile method to the log-likelihood function and derive the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the MLE of the Waring parameters. We use extensive simulation studies to compare the MLE and EFF methods, and the goodness-of-fit comparison with the Yule-Simon distribution. We also apply the Waring distribution to fit an insurance data.

Summary: Background: Severe community-acquired pneumonia (SCAP) results in high mortality as well as massive economic burden worldwide, yet limited knowledge of the bio-signatures related to prognosis has hindered the improvement of clinical outcomes. Pathogen, microbes and host are three vital elements in inflammations and infections. This study aims to discover the specific and sensitive biomarkers to predict outcomes of SCAP patients. Methods: In this study, we applied a combined metagenomic and transcriptomic screening approach to clinical specimens gathered from 275 SCAP patients of a multicentre, prospective study. Findings: We found that 30-day mortality might be independent of pathogen category or microbial diversity, while significant difference in host gene expression pattern presented between 30-day mortality group and the survival group. Twelve outcome–related clinical characteristics were identified in our study. The underlying host response was evaluated and enrichment of genes related to cell activation, immune modulation, inflammatory and metabolism were identified. Notably, omics data, clinical features and parameters were integrated to develop a model with six signatures for predicting 30-day mortality, showing an AUC of 0.953 (95% CI: 0.92–0.98). Interpretation: In summary, our study linked clinical characteristics and underlying multi-omics bio-signatures to the differential outcomes of patients with SCAP. The establishment of a comprehensive predictive model will be helpful for future improvement of treatment strategies and prognosis with SCAP. Background and objectivesDisease severity and prognosis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) disease with other viral infections can be affected by the oropharyngeal microbiome. However, limited research had been carried out to uncover how these diseases are differentially affected by the oropharyngeal microbiome of the patient. Here, we aimed to explore the characteristics of the oropharyngeal microbiota of COVID-19 patients and compare them with those of patients with similar symptoms.MethodsCOVID-19 was diagnosed in patients through the detection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Characterization of the oropharyngeal microbiome was performed by metatranscriptomic sequencing analyses of oropharyngeal swab specimens from 144 COVID-19 patients, 100 patients infected with other viruses, and 40 healthy volunteers.ResultsThe oropharyngeal microbiome diversity in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection was different from that of patients with other infections. Prevotella and Aspergillus could play a role in the differentiation between patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection and patients with other infections. Prevotella could also influence the prognosis of COVID-19 through a mechanism that potentially involved the sphingolipid metabolism regulation pathway.ConclusionThe oropharyngeal microbiome characterization was different between SARS-CoV-2 infection and infections caused by other viruses. Prevotella could act as a biomarker for COVID-19 diagnosis and of host immune response evaluation in SARS-CoV-2 infection. In addition, the cross-talk among Prevotella, SARS-CoV-2, and sphingolipid metabolism pathways could provide a basis for the precise diagnosis, prevention, control, and treatment of COVID-19.

In this study, 90 finite-element models are used to explore the behaviour of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforced joints under combined in-plane bending (IPB) and axial load (AX). The effects of joint geometry, FRP layer count, and AX levels of the chord or brace are considered. Three typical failure modes are observed: chord plastic failure, brace plastic failure, and brace buckling failure. Increasing the number of FRP layers can ensure that failure is chord-related failure in a ductility manner rather than the unexpectedly brace-related brittle failure. Depending on the stress distribution of fibres, FRP reinforcement can restrict the deformation of joints subjected to complex loading patterns. Moreover, added FRP layers efficiently reduce the effect of brace AX on the IPB resistance. Finally, a modified strength equation is established, including the influence of FRP reinforcement, chord AX, and brace AX.

Previous research has confirmed that the newly proposed pentagonal three–four strut hybrid cable dome exhibits superior static performance compared to traditional cable domes, though its dynamic characteristics still require further study. Cable domes are wind-sensitive structures, and the results of a wind-induced vibration analysis are beneficial for the selection and construction of cable domes. In this study, a finite element model of a new open-type cable dome with a span of 120 m is established. The MATLAB 2017a programming language is employed to simulate pulsating winds, followed by a nonlinear dynamic analysis to analyze the wind-induced vibrations of the structure. The reliability of the pulsating wind model is confirmed by comparing the simulated spectrum with the target spectrum. Moreover, a wind-induced vibration time history analysis is performed to obtain the node displacement and internal force of components wind vibration coefficients, aiding in the approximation of pulsating winds with average winds in a wind-resistant design. Furthermore, a parametric analysis is carried out, ranking nodes and components based on sensitivity. The result shows that the structure exhibits the strongest wind resistance when the rise–span ratio is f/l=0.07 and the thickness–span ratio is h/l=0.08. Notably, the outer upper chord node, 2a, and the inner lower chord hoop cable, H1, are identified as the most sensitive node and component within the structure, respectively. Overall, the structure demonstrates excellent wind resistance performance, and the maximum wind vibration coefficient value remains below 3.

Building upon the analytical study of the structural configuration and prestress state of the drum-shaped quad-strut cable dome, we conducted further investigation into its structural configuration. By employing the nodal equilibrium equations to solve the prestress state analysis of the cable dome, we compared the effects of two different cable laying methods on the prestress state of the cable dome structure. These methods include equal length of the radial horizontal projection of the upper chord ridge cables and equal radial chord length of the upper chord ridge cables. The analysis results show that the radial length of the top chord and its corresponding radial horizontal projection length of the cable dome structure can effectively reflect the trend of the prestress state of the structural configuration. Furthermore, by using a rise-to-span ratio of 0.11 as a threshold, the cable dome configuration is categorized into the flat spheroidal structural configuration and the small hemispheroidal structural configuration. When the structure is analyzed using a small rise-to-span ratio, the difference in prestress calculations between the two structural configurations is found to be less than 10%. Additionally, the structure exhibits a more uniform distribution of prestress, with the prestress gradually increasing from the inner circle to the outer circle. However, when the rise-to-span ratio increases, the difference between the prestress calculation results of the two configurations also increases, emphasizing the need to deploy upper chord ridge cables based on equal radial chord lengths (arc lengths). The research presented in this paper provides a novel insight into the structural topological form and prestress state calculation of cable domes with this configuration.

A finite element (FE) analysis of corroded circular hollow section T-joints repaired using grouted clamps is presented in this study. To ensure an accurate simulation, experiments on a T-joint with uniform corrosion and an intact T-joint with grouted clamp are reproduced separately using an FE model. The experimental and FE modeling results correlate closely, displaying similar failure behaviors and load–displacement responses. Subsequently, a total of 56 FE T-joint models with varying degrees of corrosion on the chord, repaired by grouted clamp, were then analyzed numerically. The corrosion was artificially applied to the chord’s outer surface at depths of 10%, 20%, and 30% of the chord’s thickness. The models also account for variations in joint geometry, dictated by parameters β and γ, which range from 0.565 to 0.678 and from 21 to 28, respectively. Furthermore, grouted clamp’s properties were examined, including sleeve length, thickness, strength, as well as the thickness and strength of the grout, in relation to the complexity of the repair. The grouted clamp demonstrated significant repair capability, increasing the ultimate strength of the corroded joint by up to 2.23 times. Reinforcements that are both thicker and longer substantially enhance the joint’s ultimate strength. However, inappropriate repair construction results in an abrupt termination of the load–displacement curve and a brittle failure phenomenon outside reinforced chord region. Additional weight from the grouted clamp requires reasonable control, and sleeve overlapping ratio should be guaranteed to be greater than 0.7. The joint bearing capacity can be efficiently increased by thicker grouts and sleeves only in ductile failure cases. The confinement effect and mechanism of the grouted clamp in joint deformation were visually analyzed as stress distribution from FE analysis results. Finally, a prediction equation is proposed to estimate the static strength of the repaired joint through regression analysis.

The high morbidity of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) brings on a panic around the world. COVID-19 is associated with sex bias, immune system, and preexisting chronic diseases. We analyzed the gene expression in patients with COVID-19 and in their microbiota in order to identify potential biomarkers to aid in disease management. A total of 129 RNA samples from nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal, and anal swabs were collected and sequenced in a high-throughput manner. Several microbial strains differed in abundance between patients with mild or severe COVID-19. Microbial genera were more abundant in oropharyngeal swabs than in nasopharyngeal or anal swabs. Oropharyngeal swabs allowed more sensitive detection of the causative SARS-CoV-2. Microbial and human transcriptomes in swabs from patients with mild disease showed enrichment of genes involved in amino acid metabolism, or protein modification via small protein removal, and antibacterial defense responses, respectively, whereas swabs from patients with severe disease showed enrichment of genes involved in drug metabolism, or negative regulation of apoptosis execution, spermatogenesis, and immune system, respectively. Microbial abundance and diversity did not differ significantly between males and females. The expression of several host genes on the X chromosome correlated negatively with disease severity. In this way, our analyses identify host genes whose differential expression could aid in the diagnosis of COVID-19 and prediction of its severity via non-invasive assay.

The drum-shaped honeycomb-type cable dome departs from traditional concepts and incorporates the idea of multiple strut configurations. It is the most diverse type of cable dome structure. Both cables and struts serve as the main load-bearing components. Analyzing the effects of local component failure is crucial for designing large-scale cable domes able to resist continuous collapse. A numerical analysis model using the ANSYS finite element method with a 120 m span is established. Dynamic analysis methods are employed to study the response of structural internal forces and displacements during the failure of different component types. By defining the internal force dynamic coefficient and change coefficient, the structural continuity collapse resulting from component failure is determined based on computational results and observation of structural deformations. Furthermore, the importance of the various components within the overall structure is classified. The research findings indicate that the failure of individual components does not cause overall instability of the structure. The importance level of the ring cables and some upper chord ridge cables is higher than that of the inclined cables. Class a struts have a higher importance level than class b struts. Additionally, the importance level of outer ring components is higher than that of inner ring components.

Background: There is an urgent need to evaluate the clinical value of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) based rapid tests (Leakection) for a quick and relatively accurate diagnosis of prelabor rupture of membranes (PROM), especially atypical PROM, in the emergency setting. This is a retrospective study. The data collection was planned after all the index test and reference standard were performed retrospectively. Methods: A total of 267 pregnant women complaining of increased vaginal effusion were recruited. For preliminary diagnoses, patients were examined by observing posterior vault pooling and by performing nitrazine tests and Leakection tests. PROM was subsequently confirmed with a clinical diagnosis consisting of both patient history and the results of a panel of tests. The sensitivity and specificity of posterior vault pooling, Leakection from the posterior vault and the nitrazine test in the emergency setting were retrospectively reported to evaluate their power of diagnosis in PROM. Results: One hundred thirty-two patients were diagnosed with PROM, and 135 patients were found not to have PROM. When samples were collected from the posterior vault, Leakection had a sensitivity of 97.0%, a specificity of 91.1%, and a false negative rate of 3.0%. In contrast, the nitrazine test had a sensitivity of 68.9%, a specificity of 100.0%, and a false negative rate of 31.1%. Conclusions: Leakection is a noninvasive and inexpensive rapid test for the screening and diagnosis of PROM with both high sensitivity and specificity. This test can greatly aid in the clinical diagnosis of PROM, especially atypical PROM, in the emergency setting.

BackgroundOvarian carcinoma is one of the most common gynecologic malignancies, cisplatin resistance has become a key obstacle to the successful treatment of ovarian cancer because ovarian carcinomas are liable to drug resistance. To find an effective drug carrier is an urgent need.MethodsExosomes and loading-cisplatin exosomes are isolated using differential centrifugation and characterized by transmission, electron, nanoparticle tracking analysis. The anti-cancer effect of cisplatin was detected under the circumstance of delivered by exosomes or without exosomes in vitro and in vivo. Using proteome analysis and bioinformatics analysis, we further discovered the pathways in exosomes delivery process. We employed a con-focal immunofluorescence analysis, to evaluate the effects of milk-exosomes deliver the cisplatin via avoiding endosomal trapping.ResultsExosomes and exosome-cisplatin were characterized including size, typical markers including CD63, Alix and Tsg101. The anti-cancer effect of cisplatin was enhanced when delivered by exosome in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistic studies shown that exosomes deliver cisplatin mostly via clathrin-independent endocytosis pathway. Exosomes deliver cisplatin into cisplatin-resistant cancer cells clathrin-independent endocytosis and enhance the anti-cancer effect through avoiding endosome trapping.ConclusionCisplatin could be delivered by exosome through clathrin-independent endocytosis, and could evade the endosome trapping, diffused in the cytosol evenly. Our study clarifies the mechanism of exosomes mediated drug delivery against resistant cancer, indicates that exosomes can be a potential nano-carrier for cisplatin against cisplatin resistant ovarian cancer, which validates and enriches the theory of intracellular exosome trafficking.

This study was conducted to investigate oropharyngeal microbiota alterations during the progression of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) by analyzing these alterations during the infection and clearance processes of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The diagnosis of COVID-19 was confirmed by using positive SARS-CoV-2 quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). The alterations in abundance, diversity, and potential function of the oropharyngeal microbiome were identified using metatranscriptomic sequencing analyses of oropharyngeal swab specimens from 47 patients with COVID-19 (within a week after diagnosis and within two months after recovery from COVID-19) and 40 healthy individuals. As a result, in the infection process of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the healthy individuals, the relative abundances of Prevotella, Aspergillus, and Epstein–Barr virus were elevated; the alpha diversity was decreased; the beta diversity was disordered; the relative abundance of Gram-negative bacteria was increased; and the relative abundance of Gram-positive bacteria was decreased. After the clearance of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the healthy individuals and patients with COVID-19, the above disordered alterations persisted in the patients who had recovered from COVID-19 and did not return to the normal level observed in the healthy individuals. Additionally, the expressions of several antibiotic resistance genes (especially multi-drug resistance, glycopeptide, and tetracycline) in the patients with COVID-19 were higher than those in the healthy individuals. After SARS-CoV-2 was cleared, the expressions of these genes in the patients who had recovered from COVID-19 were lower than those in the patients with COVID-19, and they were different from those in the healthy individuals. In conclusion, our findings provide evidence that potential secondary infections with oropharyngeal bacteria, fungi, and viruses in patients who have recovered from COVID-19 should not be ignored; this evidence also highlights the clinical significance of the oropharyngeal microbiome in the early prevention of potential secondary infections of COVID-19 and suggests that it is imperative to choose appropriate antibiotics for subsequent bacterial secondary infection in patients with COVID-19.

Summary: Pathological examination is the gold standard for cancer diagnosis, and breast tumor cells are often found in clusters. We report a case study on one triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patient, analyzing tumor development, metastasis, and prognosis with simultaneous DNA and RNA sequencing of pathologist-defined cell clusters from multiregional frozen sections. The cell clusters are isolated by laser capture microdissection (LCM) from primary tumor tissue, lymphatic vessels, and axillary lymph nodes. Data are reported for a total of 97 cell clusters. A combination of tumor cell-cluster clonality and phylogeny reveals 3 evolutionarily distinct pathways for this patient, each associated with a unique mRNA signature, and each correlated with disparate survival outcomes. Hub gene analysis indicates that extensive downregulation of ribosomal protein mRNA is a potential marker of poor prognosis in breast cancer.

Q fever is a worldwide zoonosis caused by Coxiella burnetii (Cb). From January 2018 to November 2019, plasma samples from 2,382 patients with acute fever of unknown cause at a hospital in Zhuhai city of China were tested using metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS). Of those tested, 138 patients (5.8%) were diagnosed with Q fever based on the presence of Cb genomic DNA detected by mNGS. Among these, 78 cases (56.5%) presented from Nov 2018 to Mar 2019, suggesting an outbreak of Q fever. 55 cases with detailed clinical information that occurred during the outbreak period were used for further analysis. The vast majority of plasma samples from those Cb-mNGS-positive patients were positive in a Cb-specific quantitative polymerase chain reaction (n = 38) and/or indirect immunofluorescence assay (n = 26). Mobile phone tracing data was used to define the area of infection during the outbreak. This suggested the probable infection source was Cb-infected goats and cattle at the only official authorized slaughterhouse in Zhuhai city. Phylogenic analysis based on genomic sequences indicated Cb strains identified in the patients, goat and cattle were formed a single branch, most closely related to the genomic group of Cb dominated by strains isolated from goats. Our study demonstrates Q fever was epidemic in 2018-2019 in Zhuhai city, and this is the first confirmed epidemic of Q fever in a contemporary city in China.

There was an outbreak of Dengue fever on September 5, 2019, in Hainan Province, which has not been endemic for 28 years. We aim to describe the clinical and epidemiological features of the 2019 outbreak in Hainan Province and identify the cause. All type 1 Dengue fever cases that occurred in this outbreak of Hainan exhibited mild clinical symptoms. The epidemiological investigations indicate that the outbreak might originate from workers in the Xiuying area, Haikou City, form a concentrated outbreak, and then spread out. Bayesian phylogenies results and epidemiological data were used to infer a likely series of events for the dengue virus’s potential spread and trace the possible sources. The strains’ sequences were close to a sequence from the nearby Guangdong province, supporting the hypothesis that the dengue virus was imported from Guangdong province and then spread across Hainan province. Furthermore, it is interesting that two other strains didn’t group with this cluster, suggesting that additional introduction pathways might exist. The study indicated that the dengue fever epidemic presented two important modes in Hainan. Firstly, epidemics prevalence was caused by imported cases, and then endogenous epidemics broke out in the natural epidemic focus.

Objective: Cervical cancer classification based on human papillomavirus (HPV) infection status is necessary, as the popularity of HPV vaccination is increasing. Hence, this study aimed to explore the clinicopathological features, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of gastric-type endocervical adenocarcinoma (GAS) in west China. Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis and follow-up of patients with GAS who were hospitalized in West China Second University Hospital, a tertiary care center in west China, between September 2019 and April 2021. Results: A total of 16 cases were pathologically diagnosed as GAS at the hospital, most of which had no specific clinical manifestations. Among the 16 cases, 3 cases were confirmed preoperatively. The occurrence of full-layer cervix stroma infiltration, lymphatic vessel infiltration, and lymph node metastasis were 87.5%, 100%, and 50%, respectively. Among all cases, 8 cases were classified as stage III according to the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics 2018 Clinical Staging Standard for cervical cancer. A total of 15 patients underwent a transabdominal or laparoscopic extensive hysterectomy, and the remaining 1 patient was pathologically diagnosed with GAS after a total hysterectomy and afterward underwent bilateral oophorectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection as supplementary surgeries. The follow-up data presented the survival of the 16 patients receiving concurrent chemoradiotherapy after surgery. However, GAS recurred in 3 non-medically-controlled patients among the 16 patients in 3 to 6 months after the treatment. Conclusions: GAS is a rare but highly malignant cancer that usually results in a poor prognosis. A few reports of GAS diagnosis and treatment, especially from developing countries, are available. Hitherto clinical routine screening methods might be insufficient to fulfill the requirements of GAS diagnosis owing to the difficulties in preoperative diagnosis and the probability of misdiagnosis. To reduce the rate of misdiagnosis, repeated deep multisite biopsies, cervical curettage, cervical conization, and hysteroscopy might be helpful in suspicious GAS cases.

Fluid-solid coupling in fractured reservoirs plays a critical role for optimizing and managing in energy and geophysical engineering. Computational difficulties associated with sharp fracture models motivate phase field fracture modeling. However, for geomechanical problems, the fully coupled hydromechanical modeling with the phase field framework is still under development. In this work, we propose a fluid-solid fully coupled model, in which discrete fractures are regularized by the phase field. Specifically, this model takes into account the complex coupled interaction of Darcy-Biot-type fluid flow in poroelastic media, Reynolds lubrication governing flow inside fractures, mass exchange between fractures and matrix, and the subsequent geomechanical response of the solid. An iterative coupling method is developed to solve this multifield problem efficiently. We present numerical studies that demonstrate the performance of our model.

Metabolic profile of follicular fluid (FF) has been investigated to look for biomarkers for oocyte quality. Resolvin E1 (RvE1), a potent pro-resolving mediator, was reported to have protective action in cell function. The study aimed to examine the predictive value of RvE1 for oocyte quality and to explore the cellular mechanism of RvE1 in improving oocyte competence. Metabolic profiles of 80 FF samples showed a higher level of RvE1 in group A (blastocysts scored ≥ B3BC and B3CB according to Gardner's blastocyst scoring system, N = 36) than that of group B (blastocysts scored < B3BC and B3CB, N = 44, P = 0.0018). The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis showed that RvE1 level in FF below 8.96 pg/ml (AUC:0.75; 95%CI: 0.64–0.86; P = 0.00012) could predict poor oocyte quality with specificity of 97.22%, suggesting RvE1 as a potential biomarker to exclude inferior oocytes. Besides, the level of RvE1 was found to be significantly lower in FF than in serum (57.49 to 17.62 pg/ml; P=.0037) and was gradually accumulated in the culture medium of cumulus cells (CCs) during cell culture, which indicated that RvE1 came from both blood exudates and local secretion. The in vitro experiment revealed thecellular mechanism of RvE1 in improvingoocyte qualityby decreasing the cumulus cellapoptotic rate and increasing cell viability and proliferation. It is the first time thatthe role of RvE1 in reproduction is explored. In conclusion, RvE1 is valuable as a potential exclusive biomarker for oocyte selection andplays a role in improving oocyte quality.
