Geothermal resources have a very broad development prospect owing to their clean nature; accurate evaluation of their potential is an important basis for the realization of fine zoning and large-scale efficient development. Here, a geothermal evaluation system is established based on reservoir, cap-rock, transportation-system, heat-source, and water-source data. The entropy weight Technique Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Analytic Hierarchy Process - Technique Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (AHP-TOPSIS) methods are used to evaluate geothermal resources in Eryuan County, and the evaluation results are superimposed with equal weights, and combined with the Moran index, to determine the geothermal exploration potential. Our results show that geothermal resources in Eryuan County are abundant, being concentrated in Liantie Township, Qiaohou Town, junction of Sanying and Cibihu towns, and junction of Fengyu and Yousuo towns. The Moran index indicates that there is significant geothermal accumulation, with high geothermal values mainly distributed around the water system. Three types of geothermal models are established based on control factors. The first one is controlled by the combination of reservoir and cap rock, while the second one is controlled by heat source and the third one is controlled by the combination of reservoir and cap rock and heat source. The junctions of Sanying and Cibihu towns, and Fengyu and Yousuo towns, are evaluated to have high geothermal potential, and these may become the next favorable directions for geothermal exploration in Eryuan County.

This study aimed to explore the impact of aggregate spray-seeding (ASS) restoration measures on the soil proteobacterial community. Using environmental DNA sequencing, we analyzed the proteobacterial communities in the soils of 3 natural vegetation (NV) plots, 3 traditional afforestation (TA) plots, and 12 spray-seeding restoration (SR) plots located on Triangle Island in Zhuhai city, China, during both the summer and winter seasons. We estimated the metabolic function, nutritional type, and life strategy of Proteobacteria through the FAPROTAX and rrnDB databases. Our findings demonstrated that Proteobacteria was the predominant phylum (relative abundance = 40.1–48.4%) in the soil bacterial communities across all three treatments. The relative abundance of Alphaproteobacteria ranged from 28.5% to 38.1%, which was significantly greater (2.6–10.3 times, p < 0.05) than that of Betaproteobacteria or Gammaproteobacteria. Most (90%) proteobacterial genera and all rhizobial genera found in the NV and TA soils were also present in the SR soil, but there were distinct differences in the proteobacterial community structures between the SR soil and NV/TA soil. Across all seasons and treatments, the proteobacterial communities were related to functions such as ureolysis, nitrogen fixation, nitrate reduction, and hydrocarbon degradation. The relative abundance of Proteobacteria associated with chitinolysis was greater in the SR soil than in the NV and TA soils. Among the overall proteobacterial community, the chemoheterotrophic, chemoautotrophic, and phototrophic bacteria accounted for 65–77%, 19–31%, and less than 5%, respectively. Alphaproteobacteria tended to be K strategic, while Betaproteobacteria and Gammaproteobacteria tended to be r strategic. The soil pH, organic carbon content, and nitrogen content were significantly correlated with the metabolic function and nutritional type of the soil Proteobacteria according to the Mantel test results. In conclusion, the application of the ASS technique can effectively restore the biodiversity, metabolic function, and nutritional-type structure of the soil proteobacterial community. Additionally, this study highlights that certain metabolic functions of the proteobacterial community in SR soil undergo changes in response to the use of certain restoration materials. These findings suggest that the targeted addition of specific repair materials can modulate soil microorganism functionality and provide a valuable theoretical foundation for ecological restoration engineering practices.

Abstract The determination of reference points for telescopes is crucial for obtaining the local‐tie vector for a multi‐technology co‐located station. Traditional methods suffer from labor‐intensive fieldwork, long execution cycles, and systematic errors due to the incident angle of the total station's laser beam on the prism. In this paper, we propose an algorithm aligning the prism pointing vector with the prism‐to‐total station vector and introduce a pan‐tilt platform and the Tianma VGOS telescope for sub‐millimeter unmanned reference point monitoring. Our results show that the prototype system based on the pan‐tilt achieves a formal error of ±100 μm (1σ) in reference point positions with just 2.5 hr of automated monitoring. The consistency of reference point positions is comparable to the local control network accuracy. Single‐direction observations may introduce a deviation of ±1 mm in the reference point compared to multiple direction observations. Preliminary experiments on the Tianma VGOS telescope have also shown that this system can efficiently automate the monitoring of prism scatter points (one measurement every minute) and achieve sub‐millimeter horizontal precision in reference point positions within a single day.

In order to further promote the application and development of unmanned aviation in the manned field, and reduce the difficulty that airlines cannot avoid due to unexpected factors such as bad weather, aircraft failure, and so on, the problem of restoring aircraft routes has been studied. To reduce the economic losses caused by flight interruption, this paper divides the repair problem of aircraft operation plans into two sub problems, namely, the generation of flight routes and the reallocation of aircraft. Firstly, the existing fixed-point iteration method proposed by Dang is used to solve the feasible route generation model based on integer programming. To calculate quickly and efficiently, a segmentation method that divides the solution space into mutually independent segments is proposed as the premise of distributed computing. The feasible route is then allocated to the available aircraft to repair the flight plan. The experimental results of two examples of aircraft fault grounding and airport closure show that the method proposed in this paper is effective for aircraft route restoration.

BackgroundDue to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese university students may have increased mobile phone dependence, a habitual behavior in the student population and a risk factor for depressive symptoms. Therefore, this study explored the association between mobile phone dependence and depressive symptoms in Chinese university students in the post-pandemic era. It also investigated the effects of different types and categories of mobile phone Internet content preferences. In particular, this study examined whether mobile phone dependence mediates the relationship between absolute preference (AP) for mobile phone Internet content and depressive symptoms, and whether relative preference (RP) for mobile phone Internet content moderates the association between mobile phone dependence and depressive symptoms.MethodsA cross-sectional study of Chinese university students recruited through Credamo was conducted in February–March, 2023. Participants completed the Mobile Phone Internet Content Preference Questionnaire, Self-rating Questionnaire for Adolescent Problematic Mobile Phone Use, and Center for Epidemiological Survey, Depression Scale. Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, and analyses of mediation and moderation effects. The final sample comprised 1,602 students (709 males).ResultsWe found a positive association between mobile phone dependence and depressive symptoms. The mediating role of mobile phone dependence between AP for mobile phone Internet content and depressive symptoms differed according to the type and category of content. Meanwhile, different types and categories of RP for mobile phone Internet content moderated the association between mobile phone dependence and depressive symptoms in opposite directions.ConclusionOur results highlight the interrelationships among mobile phone Internet content preferences, mobile phone dependence, and depressive symptoms in Chinese university students. For different types and categories of mobile phone Internet content preferences, we propose distinct preventive measures to alleviate students’ depressive symptoms.

Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) is one of the basic mechanisms of myocardial ischemia. Myocardial contrast echocardiography (MCE) is a bedside technique that utilises microbubbles which remain entirely within the intravascular space and denotes the status of microvascular perfusion within that region. Some pilot studies suggested that MCE may be used to diagnose CMD, but without further validation. This study is aimed to investigate the diagnostic performance of MCE for the evaluation of CMD. MCE was performed at rest and during adenosine triphosphate stress. ECG triggered real-time frames were acquired in the apical 4-chamber, 3-chamber, 2-chamber, and long-axis imaging planes. These images were imported into Narnar for further processing. Eighty-two participants with suspicion of coronary disease and absence of significant epicardial lesions were prospectively investigated. Thermodilution was used as the gold standard to diagnose CMD. CMD was present in 23 (28%) patients. Myocardial blood flow reserve (MBF) was assessed using MCE. CMD was defined as MBF reserve < 2. The MCE method had a high sensitivity (88.1%) and specificity (95.7%) in the diagnosis of CMD. There was strong agreement with thermodilution (Kappa coefficient was 0.727; 95% CI: 0.57–0.88, p < 0.001). However, the correlation coefficient (r = 0.376; p < 0.001) was not high.

Arrhythmia is one of the common cardiovascular diseases. Nowadays, many methods identify arrhythmias from electrocardiograms (ECGs) by computer-aided systems. However, computer-aided systems could not identify arrhythmias effectively due to various the morphological change of abnormal ECG data. This paper proposes a deep method to classify ECG samples. Firstly, ECG features are extracted through continuous wavelet transform. Then, our method realizes the arrhythmia classification based on the new lightweight context transform blocks. The block is proposed by improving the linear content transform block by squeeze-and-excitation network and linear transformation. Finally, the proposed method is validated on the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve a high accuracy on arrhythmia classification.

Abstract Purpose Compressed Sensing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CS-MRI) is a promising technique to accelerate dynamic cardiac MR imaging (DCMRI). For DCMRI, the CS-MRI usually exploits image signal sparsity and low-rank property to reconstruct dynamic images from the undersampled k-space data. In this paper, a novel CS algorithm is investigated to improve dynamic cardiac MR image reconstruction quality under the condition of minimizing the k-space recording. Methods The sparse representation of 3D cardiac magnetic resonance data is implemented by synergistically integrating 3D total generalized variation (3D-TGV) algorithm and high order singular value decomposition (HOSVD) based Tensor Decomposition, termed k-t TGV-TD method. In the proposed method, the low rank structure of the 3D dynamic cardiac MR data is performed with the HOSVD method, and the localized image sparsity is achieved by the 3D-TGV method. Moreover, the Fast Composite Splitting Algorithm (FCSA) method, combining the variable splitting with operator splitting techniques, is employed to solve the low-rank and sparse problem. Two different cardiac MR datasets (cardiac perfusion and cine MR datasets) are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. Results Compared with the state-of-art methods, such as k-t SLR, 3D-TGV, HOSVD based tensor decomposition and low-rank plus sparse method, the proposed k-t TGV-TD method can offer improved reconstruction accuracy in terms of higher peak SNR (PSNR) and structural similarity index (SSIM). The proposed k-t TGV-TD method can achieve significantly better and stable reconstruction results than state-of-the-art methods in terms of both PSNR and SSIM, especially for cardiac perfusion MR dataset. Conclusions This work proved that the k-t TGV-TD method was an effective sparse representation way for DCMRI, which was capable of significantly improving the reconstruction accuracy with different acceleration factors.

Inland surface water plays an important role in global carbon cycling, which responds to transformation between dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) and dissolved organic carbon (DOC). Studies have shown that algae in karst lakes and reservoirs can convert DIC to organic matter (OM) and form stable carbon sinks via photosynthesis. However, the pathways of conversion of inorganic carbon to organic carbon during algal growth remain unclear and need further investigation. In this study, spectroscopic techniques were applied to investigate the variations in algal organic matter (AOM) composition in the growth metabolism of Chlorella vulgaris and Scenedesmus obliquus under simulated karst water condition. The results showed that algal extracellular organic matter (EOM) contained high DIC concentration during the adaptation phase, which formed the carbon source for algal photosynthesis. In addition, DOC in algae increased after entering the stationary phase, while more OM was released into water. As algal growth proceeded, the amino groups in EOM were consumed to produce more aromatic protein-like material, while more lipid material was produced in intracellular organic matter (IOM). The spectral characterization results could intuitively determine AOM dynamics in different growth stages of algae, which can be used for establishing effective approaches for detecting organic carbon variations and responding to regional carbon cycling in karst water.

Proteins secreted by Gram-negative bacteria are tightly linked to the virulence and adaptability of these microbes to environmental changes. Accurate identification of such secreted proteins can facilitate the investigations of infections and diseases caused by these bacterial pathogens. However, current bioinformatic methods for predicting bacterial secreted substrate proteins have limited computational efficiency and application scope on a genome-wide scale. Here, we propose a novel deep-learning-based framework—DeepSecE—for the simultaneous inference of multiple distinct groups of secreted proteins produced by Gram-negative bacteria. DeepSecE remarkably improves their classification from nonsecreted proteins using a pretrained protein language model and transformer, achieving a macro-average accuracy of 0.883 on 5-fold cross-validation. Performance benchmarking suggests that DeepSecE achieves competitive performance with the state-of-the-art binary predictors specialized for individual types of secreted substrates. The attention mechanism corroborates salient patterns and motifs at the N or C termini of the protein sequences. Using this pipeline, we further investigate the genome-wide prediction of novel secreted proteins and their taxonomic distribution across ~1,000 Gram-negative bacterial genomes. The present analysis demonstrates that DeepSecE has major potential for the discovery of disease-associated secreted proteins in a diverse range of Gram-negative bacteria. An online web server of DeepSecE is also publicly available to predict and explore various secreted substrate proteins via the input of bacterial genome sequences.

The existing Beijing Pingguoyuan Subway Station was extended through a extension project. The excavation for the extension was located directly above the existing station. Complex interactions exist between the existing structure and the retaining pile wall of the excavation. Based on this project, three-dimensional finite element models were established to investigate the mechanical characteristics of the embedded and non-embedded retaining pile walls. A parametric analysis was performed for both types of pile walls. The stress and deformation characteristics of the retaining pile walls and existing structures were analyzed. The results show that when the bottom of the non-embedded retaining pile walls are connected to the existing structure, the uplift of the existing structure is essentially constant; however, the maximum displacement of the pile is increased by approximately 2.7 times, and the bending moment of the pile is reduced to 57.1% of the connection condition. As the distance between the embedded retaining pile wall and the existing station increases, the uplift of the existing station increases linearly, whereas the soil between the pile and the station exhibits a non-linear increasing trend. The displacement of the embedded retaining pile wall increases as the inner force decreases. When the distance is greater than 4.7 m, the displacement and force of the pile remains essentially unchanged. The effect of the pile embedded depth on the force and deformation of the pile is mainly observed in the lower part of the pile. As the embedded depth increases, the maximum displacement decreases by approximately 16.9%, the maximum bending moment decreases, and the maximum negative bending moment increases. The key contribution of this research is to provide a prediction method for the mechanical behaviors of a expansion project. The findings from the study also provide industry practitioners with a comprehensive guide regarding the specific applications of the construction technology of a deep excavation structure overlying an existing subway station.

Tidal hydrology has an important effect on anaerobic carbon decomposition in estuary wetlands. However, it remains unclear how soil anaerobic CO2 production responds to change in tidal hydrology. We differentiated anaerobic CO2 production of freshwater marsh soil exposed to different tidal hydrology in the Yellow River estuary wetland. For this purpose, soil cores of a freshwater marsh with no-tidal hydrology were translocated to and cultured in the three tidal salt marshes with different tidal hydrology, respectively. Over 16-month culture, change in tidal hydrology significantly affected properties and anaerobic CO2 production of freshwater marsh soil. Exposure to tidal hydrology had increased pH and electrical conductivity (EC) of freshwater marsh soil, while decreased organic carbon (TOC), dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and C:N ratios. Anaerobic CO2 production of freshwater marsh soil showed a significantly reduction after exposed to different tidal hydrology conditions, with the corresponding mean decreasing from 2.53 μgC·g−1·d−1 under the no-tidal hydrology to 1.09–2.10 μgC·g−1·d−1 under the different tidal hydrology. Soil anaerobic CO2 production were negatively correlated with pH and EC, and positively correlated with TOC, DOC and C:N ratios, with a total 92.6% explanation of soil properties for the change in anaerobic CO2 production. The results suggest that soil anaerobic CO2 production of freshwater marsh soil might be inhibited when exposed to seawater intrusion due to the rise of salt and the decrease of substrate quality.

Metal distribution in different wetlands under the complex influence of natural and anthropogenic activities in the Liaohe Delta was analyzed to better protect and manage delta areas. Ninety-six soil samples were collected from six wetland types, and the levels, depth distributions, risk, and influencing factors of metals (i.e., As, Cd, Cr, Ni, Cu, Pb, Zn, Mn, Al, and Fe) were analyzed. The results showed that the concentrations of As, Cd, Cr, Ni, Zn, and Al in more than 70% of the soil samples were higher than the background value of Liaoning Province. The concentration of As decreased with distance from the estuary, while that of Cr was higher downstream of Liaohe. The spatial distributions of Cd, Ni, Cu, Pb, and Zn were similar. The concentrations of most metals in the topsoil were higher than those in the subsoil. According to the Nemerow pollution index, higher pollution was observed in the area far away from the Liaohe River and Bohai Sea for the topsoil layer, while for the subsoil layers, higher pollution was observed in the area near the Liaohe estuary. The correlation analysis showed that the wetland type was clearly correlated with Cd, Cu, Al, and S. The concentrations of Cd, Pb, Zn, C, N, P, and S and the electrical conductivity obviously decreased with soil depth, while the concentration of Mn was positively correlated with soil depth. Mn was negatively correlated with total organic carbon (TOC), total nitrogen (TN), and total phosphorus (TP), whereas Cd, Pb, and Zn showed positive correlation with TOC, TN, and total sulfur (TS). Although methylmercury (MeHg) has been recognized as a typical heavy metal posing huge damages to various life processes of fish, the response mechanisms of marine fish at early life stages (ELSs) to MeHg is still poorly understood. In this study, non-targeted liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) based metabolomic and transcriptomic approaches were used to explore response mechanisms of juvenile flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) to long-term sublethal MeHg exposure (0 and 1.0 μg L-1; 30 d). After exposure, growth parameters of flounder were significantly decreased. Metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses of liver tissue showed obvious difference about biological pathways and identified biomarkers (around 2502 genes and 16 secondary metabolites). Those significantly differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and their enriched pathways were mainly related to immune response, oxidative stress, lipids metabolism, glycometabolism, amino acid and nucleotide metabolism and regulation of protein processes, while those identified secondary metabolites were mainly enriched in tryptophan metabolism, biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids, linoleic acid metabolism and glutathione metabolism. Additionally, multi-omic method was used to explore response mechanisms of key pathways under MeHg stress. In this regard, only 57 DEGs and 6 secondary metabolites were significantly enriched in 7 pathways to constitute an integrated regulatory network, including glutathione metabolism, thyroid hormone synthesis, linoleic acid metabolism, biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids, tryptophan metabolism pathway, serotonergic synapse and African trypanosomiasis. Above all, we could speculate that antioxidative function, lipids metabolism, nervous system and amino acid metabolism were the more sensitive targets in response to MeHg stress, which were conductive to deeply understand the response mechanisms of fish at ELSs under MeHg exposure. Those identified biomarkers could also be widely used for toxicological studies of pollutants and ecological risks monitoring.

Tidal creeks have attracted considerable attention in estuary wetland conservation and restoration with diverse micro-habitats and high hydrological connectivity. Bacterial communities act effectively as invisible engines to regulate nutrient element biogeochemical processes. However, few studies have unveiled the bacterial community structures and diversities of micro-habitats soils on the tidal creek section. Our study selected three sections cross a tidal creek with obviously belt-like habitats “pluff mudflat – bare mudflat – Tamarix chinensis community – T. chinensis-Suaeda salsa community– S. salsa community” in the Yellow River estuarine wetland. Based on soil samples, we dissected and untangled the bacterial community structures and special bacterial taxa of different habitats on the tidal creek section. The results showed that bacterial community structures and dominant bacterial taxa were significantly different in the five habitats. The bacterial community diversities significantly decreased with distance away from tidal creeks, as well as the dominant bacteria Flavobacteriia and δ-Proteobacteria, but in reverse to Bacteroidetes and Gemmatimonadetes. Moreover, the important biomarkers sulfate-reducing bacteria and photosynthetic bacteria were different distributions within the five habitats, which were closely associated with the sulfur and carbon cycles. We found that the bacterial communities were heterogeneous in different micro-habitats on the tidal creek section, which was related to soil salinity, moisture, and nutrients as well as tidal action. The study would provide fundamental insights into understanding the ecological functions of bacterial diversities and biogeochemical processes influenced by tidal creeks.

Iron is an important element and its biogeochemical processes are vital to the matter and energy cycles of wetland ecosystems. Hydrology greatly controls characteristics of soil property and plant community in wetlands, which can regulate the behavior of iron and its oxides. However, it remains unclear how the spatial distribution of iron and its forms in estuarine wetlands responses to hydrological conditions. Five typical plant communities along a naturally hydrological gradient in the Yellow River Estuary wetland, including Phragmites australis in freshwater marsh (FPA), Phragmites australis in salt marsh (SPA), Tamarix chinensis in salt marsh (TC), Suaeda salsa in salt marsh (SS) and Spartina alterniflora in salt marsh (SA), as sites to collect soil samples. The total iron (FeT) and three iron oxides (complexed iron, Fep; amorphous iron, Feo; free iron, Fed) in samples were determined to clarify the spatial distribution of iron and explore its impact factors. The mean contents of FeT, Fep, Feo and Fed were 28079.4, 152.0, 617.2 and 8285.3 mg⋅kg–1 of soil at 0–40 cm depth in the different sites, respectively. The means were significantly different across communities along the hydrological gradient, with the higher values for SA on the upper intertidal zone and for SPA on the lower intertidal zone, respectively. Iron and its forms were positively correlated with the total organic carbon (TOC), dissolved organic carbon (DOC), total nitrogen (TN) and clay, and negatively correlated with electrical conductivity (EC). The indexes of iron oxides (Fep/Fed, Feo/Fed and Fed/FeT) were also different across communities, with a higher value for SA, which were positively correlated with soil water content (WC) and TOC. The results indicate that a variety of plant community and soil property derived from the difference of hydrology might result in a spatial heterogeneity of iron in estuarine wetlands.

This study investigated the individual and synergy effects of tetracycline (TC) and zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) accumulation on both short-term and long-term nitrogen removal processes in the bench-scale sequencing batch reactors (SBR). During short-term (10 hour) analysis, the removal rates of NH4+-N in 0.1 mg·L−1 ZnO-NPs (98.3%), 5 mg·L−1 TC (97.5%), and the co-addition reactor (96.9%) were significantly higher (P < 0.05) than the control reactor (94.4%) at minimum dosages. Ammonification processes were inhibited by the increasing dosage of ZnO-NPs (≥ 5 mg·L−1) and TC (≥ 15 mg·L−1) due to the cumulative toxic interference. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation with the co-addition of ZnO-NPs and TC promoted NH4+-N removal, and nitrification processes might be enhanced by UV exposure through the produced hydroxyl radicals (·OH) from ZnO-NPs. In the long-term operation, the effect of 0.1 mg·L−1 ZnO-NPs on nitrogen removal was negligible even over 15 days. Although NH4+-N removal rates were initially decreased, they recovered with the prolongation of dosages and operating time due to self-adjustment and the existence of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) in activated sludge. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis revealed that the absence of —CH3 may explain the inhibition of NH4+-N removal during TC accumulation. Research results can be served as indications for the understanding of the synergistic effects of ZnO-NPs and TC on the performance of biological treatments used in wastewater systems.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Hermetia illucens larvae meal (HI) on the growth performance and intestinal barrier function of weaned pigs. To achieve this, 72 weaned pigs [28-day-old, 8.44 ± 0.04 kg body weight (BW)] were randomly assigned to three dietary treatments: basal diet (negative control, NC), zinc oxide-supplemented diet (positive control, PC), and HI-supplemented diet [100% replacement of fishmeal (FM), HI], for 28 days in the presence of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC). The results showed that HI and PC increased (p < 0.05) the average daily gain (ADG) and average daily feed intake (ADFI) of weaned pigs from day 1 to 14, and decreased diarrhea incidence from day 1 to 28. Additionally, HI increased (p < 0.05) claudin-1, occludin, mucin-1 (MUC-1), and MUC-2 expression, goblet cell number, and secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA) concentration in the intestine of weaned pigs. Compared with NC, HI downregulated (p < 0.05) interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and IL-8 expression, and upregulated IL-10, transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), antimicrobial peptide [porcine β defensin 1 (pBD1), pBD2, protegrin 1-5 (PG1-5)] expression in the jejunum or ileum. Moreover, HI decreased (p < 0.05) toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2), phosphorylated nuclear factor-κB (p-NF-κB), and phosphorylated mitogen-activated protein kinase (p-MAPK) expression, and increased sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) expression in the ileum. Additionally, HI increased histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) expression and acetylation of histone 3 lysine 27 (acH3k27) in the ileum. Furthermore, HI positively influenced the intestinal microbiota composition and diversity of weaned pigs and increased (p < 0.05) butyrate and valerate concentrations. Overall, dietary HI improved growth performance and intestinal barrier function, as well as regulated histone acetylation and TLR2-NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathways in weaned pigs.

This study considers the phenomenology of ‘islandness’ by analysing the experiences of tourists, islanders, and migrant tourism workers on two Chinese islands in the South China Sea. Although we begin by presuming place to be a phenomenological concept centring on ‘being-in-the-world’, we find that people’s experiences both on and off the islands of Dong’ao and Wailingding engender a desire to ‘be-in-many-worlds’ at once. Findings drawn from three months of ethnographic fieldwork suggest that while tourists privilege ‘being-at-the-seaside’, long-term residents prioritize being both ‘on’ and ‘off’ the island. Meanwhile, migrant tourism workers’ sense of islandness emerges from ‘being-at-the- seaside’ and ‘being-on-the-island’. In all cases, we find that islands challenge people’s desires to dwell in just one specific place to which they have an attachment. We argue that this liminal place attachment arises partly because the physical geography ofislands, being surrounded by the sea, facilitates movement and may prompt a longing for elsewhere. Our findings have consequences for the phenomenology of place, which assumes that people have an innate desire to be somewhere. Yet thinking through and from islands shows that people equally wish to be somewhere else, too. The manifold human experiences of islandness underscore the need for a more relational phenomenology of place based not just on ‘being-in-the-world’, but rather ‘in-many-worlds’ at once.

In recent years, with the development of artificial intelligence, deep learning model has achieved initial success in ECG data analysis, especially the detection of atrial fibrillation. In order to solve the problems of ignoring the correlation between contexts and gradient dispersion in traditional deep convolution neural network model, the hybrid attention-based deep learning network (HADLN) method is proposed to implement arrhythmia classification. The HADLN can make full use of the advantages of residual network (ResNet) and bidirectional long–short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) architecture to obtain fusion features containing local and global information and improve the interpretability of the model through the attention mechanism. The method is trained and verified by using the PhysioNet 2017 challenge dataset. Without loss of generality, the ECG signal is classified into four categories, including atrial fibrillation, noise, other, and normal signals. By combining the fusion features and the attention mechanism, the learned model has a great improvement in classification performance and certain interpretability. The experimental results show that the proposed HADLN method can achieve precision of 0.866, recall of 0.859, accuracy of 0.867, and F1-score of 0.880 on 10-fold cross-validation.

When constructing open excavation and adding stories on the upper part of an existing station structure, the new foundation pit contacts with the existing station at zero distance; subsequently, the construction has a greater impact than that of other close constructions. To explore the cross-impact of new and existing structures on open excavation and story-adding above the existing station, in this study, through numerical simulation and field measurement, we analyze the deformation law of the existing station and foundation pit retaining structure in the excavation and story-adding construction above the existing station. The following conclusions are obtained. The excavation of the upper foundation pit leads to the overall uplift of the existing station, and the sidewall exhibits an internal extrusion trend, which is caused by an increase in the horizontal load on the station caused by the unloading of the vault and expansion of the formation plastic zone. Affected by the existing station structure, some foundation pit retaining structures are end-suspended piles; the bottoms of the end-suspended pile slips are evident. This study offers control measures for the primary support connection between the pile bottom and initial retention and protection of the existing station, deep hole grouting reinforcement of the stratum behind the pile, and reserving earth berm at the pit bottom to reduce the deformation of the end-suspended pile. The research results can provide a reference for constructing the added story of a subway transfer station.

Abstract Background One of the major limitations of MRI is its slow acquisition speed. To accelerate data acquisition, partially parallel imaging (PPI) methods have been widely used in clinical applications such as sensitivity encoding (SENSE) and generalized autocalibrating partially parallel acquisitions (GRAPPA). SENSE is a popular image-domain partially parallel imaging method, which suffers from residual aliasing artifacts when the reduction factor goes higher. Undersampling the k-space data and then reconstruct images with artificial sparsity is an efficient way to accelerate data acquisition. By exploiting artificial sparsity with a high-pass filter, an improved SENSE method is proposed in this work, termed high-pass filtered SENSE (HF-SENSE). Methods First, a high-pass filter was applied to the raw k-space data, the result of which was used as the inputs of sensitivity estimation and undersampling process. Second, the adaptive array coil combination method was adopted to calculate sensitivity maps on a block-by-block basis. Third, Tikhonov regularized SENSE was then used to reconstruct magnetic resonance images. Fourth, the reconstructed images were transformed into k-space data, which was filtered with the corresponding inverse filter. Results Both simulation and in vivo experiments demonstrate that HF-SENSE method significantly reduces noise level of the reconstructed images compared with SENSE. Furthermore, it is found that HF-SENSE can achieve lower normalized root-mean-square error value than SENSE. Conclusions The proposed method explores artificial sparsity with a high-pass filter. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed HF-SENSE method can improve the image quality of SENSE reconstruction. The high-pass filter parameters can be predefined. With this image reconstruction method, high acceleration factors can be achieved, which will improve the clinical applicability of SENSE. This retrospective study (HF-SENSE: an improved partially parallel imaging using a high-pass filter) was approved by Institute Review Board of 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University (ethical approval number 2018–314). Participant for all images have informed consent that he knew the risks and agreed to participate in the research.

Nested Delft 3D and Hydrus 1D models were applied to simulate variations in the hydrological process of tidal creeks, soil water, and salt transport in the soil profile of the reconstruction area in the Yellow River Delta under six gate dam scenarios. The results showed that the gate dam set up near the sea area was more conducive to reducing the variation range of water depth in the reconstruction area. The water depth changes in scenarios with 6 m gate valves were higher than those with 3 m sluice valves in the same gate dam location. The variations in surface water salinity, cumulative flooding time, flooding frequency, and cumulative infiltration in each scenario were similar to those for water depth. Rapid changes in soil water and salt content occurred in each scenario in periods without flooding. The fluctuation of soil salt content in different soil layers was contrary to the changes in soil water content. The overall difference in the soil salt contents and soil water content of the soil profile in scenarios with a gate dam near the sea was relatively larger than that of those with a gate dam near the shore. Obvious differences in both the soil water content and soil salt content between scenarios with 3 m and 6 m gate valves were not observed. Our results contribute to the understanding of the function of gate dams in controlling soil water and salt content in coastal wetlands.

To study metal enrichment and identify the influencing factors, 106 surface soils were collected in the Yellow River delta, including ten vegetation types. Concentrations of 10 different metals, including As, Cd, Cr, Ni, Cu, Pb, Zn, Mn, Al, Fe, and physicochemical properties pH, salinity, particle size were detected. The pH value was 7.35~9.17, and the salinity was in the range of 0.01~2.00%. The average value of silt was 76.18%, which was the main particle size for 99% of the samples. The mean concentrations of As, Cd, Cr, and Ni were higher than the background value of Shandong Province or the background value of yellow soil in China. A higher concentration of Fe occurred in Phragmites australis (mean concentration 2.50%) and paddy field. The concentrations of Cd, Cr, Ni, Cu, Pb and Zn were lower in the Suaeda salsa soil. The Nemerow pollution index indicated that 79% of all samples showed low-level metal pollution, and 7% of all samples showed moderate-level metal pollution. In the areas with higher salinity, the concentrations of As were higher, while the concentrations of Cd and Ni were lower. The correlation analysis showed that with increasing pH, the concentrations of As and Zn decreased significantly. The metal concentrations had a significant positive correlation with clay, except for As.

This study focuses on the relationship between the material system and information. Wiener said, “Information is information, not matter or energy”. So far, what information is still a problem for the philosophy of information. This paper will recognize and define information from a new special perspective where information is understood or defined as the form of interaction between different layers of the material system, and demonstrate this idea based on the modern complexity system theory.

Trophic state index (TSI) can assess lake trophic status and trace in-situ metabolism, exhibiting a high potential in explaining autochthonous carbon dioxide (CO2) in aquatic environments. However, there remains a knowledge gap in how TSI links to the partial pressure of CO2 (pCO2) generated and consumed in lakes. Here we explored the temporal variations of lake pCO2 and TSI, as well as their linkages in a karst plateau lake. Lake pCO2 ranged from 90.1 to 7169.3 μatm and was significantly high in the post-wet period (2534.3 ± 1637.9 μatm). Over 58% of samples were found to be supersaturated in CO2 with respect to the atmospheric equilibrium (410 μatm). Biological and hydrological processes regulated lake trophic status, resulting in mesotrophic state (30 50) in the drought and initial-wet periods. Coupled carbonate dissolution and photosynthesis consumed the pCO2, whereas groundwater and respiration contributed the pCO2 in the karst lake. Our results highlighted that lake TSI could decipher trophic status and further partially explain the pCO2 dynamics and sources.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of protein restriction and subsequent protein realimentation on the body composition, gut microbiota and metabolite profiles of piglets. Fifty weaned piglets were randomly assigned to two treatments: a normal protein (NP) group (20% crude protein (CP)) or a low protein (LP) group (16% CP) with five animals per pen and five pens per group. Treatment diets were fed for 14 d during the protein restriction phase, and then all pigs were fed the same nursery diets with a normal CP level (19% CP) during the protein realimentation phase until they reached an average target body weight (BW) of 25 ± 0.15 kg. At day 14 and the end of the experiment, one piglet close to the average BW of each pen was slaughtered to determine body composition, microbial composition and microbial metabolites. Results showed that there was no difference (p > 0.05) in the experimental days to reach target BW between the LP and NP groups. The average daily gain (ADG) and gain:feed ratio (G:F) during the protein restriction phase as well as BW at day 14, were significantly decreased (p < 0.05) in the LP group compared with the NP group. However, there were no significant differences (p > 0.05) during the protein realimentation phase and the overall experiment. Similarly, piglets in the LP group showed a significantly decreased body protein content (p < 0.05) at day 14, but not (p > 0.05) at the end of the experiment. The relative abundance of Parabacteroides, Butyricicoccus, Olsenella, Succinivibrio and Pseudoramibacter were significantly increased (p < 0.05), while the relative abundance of Alloprevotella and Faecalicoccus were significantly decreased (p < 0.05) in the LP group at day 14. At the end of the experiment, the piglets in the LP group showed a higher (p < 0.05) colonic relative abundances of Parabacteroides, unidentified Christensenellaceae and Caproiciproducens, and a lower (p < 0.05) relative abundance of unidentified Prevotellaceae, Haemophilus, Marvinbryantia, Faecalibaculum, Neisseria and Dubosiella than those in the NP group. Metabolomics analyses indicated that tryptophan metabolism and vitamin metabolism were enriched in the LP group at day 14, and glycerophospholipid metabolism and fatty acid esters of hydroxy fatty acid metabolism were enriched at the end of the experiment. Moreover, Spearman’s correlation analysis demonstrated that the microbial composition was highly correlated with changes in colonic metabolites. Collectively, these results indicated that protein restriction and subsequent realimentation lead to compensatory growth and compensatory protein deposition in piglets and contribute to animal intestinal health by altering the gut microbiota and its metabolites.

In this study, we investigated the effects of football shoes with different collar heights on ankle biomechanics and dynamic postural stability. Fifteen healthy college football players performed anterior and lateral single-leg jump landings when wearing high collar, elastic collar, or low collar football shoes. The kinematics of lower limbs and ground reaction forces were collected by simultaneously using a stereo-photogrammetric system with markers (Vicon) and a force plate (Kistler). During the anterior single-leg jump landing, a high collar shoe resulted in a significantly smaller ankle dorsiflexion range of motion (ROM), compared to both elastic (p = 0.031, dz = 0.511) and low collar (p = 0.043, dz = 0.446) types, while also presenting lower total ankle sagittal ROM, compared to the low collar type (p = 0.023, dz = 0.756). Ankle joint stiffness was significantly greater for the high collar, compared to the elastic collar (p = 0.003, dz = 0.629) and low collar (p = 0.030, dz = 1.040). Medial-lateral stability was significantly improved with the high collar, compared to the low collar (p = 0.001, dz = 1.232). During the lateral single-leg jump landing, ankle inversion ROM (p = 0.028, dz = 0.615) and total ankle frontal ROM (p = 0.019, dz = 0.873) were significantly smaller for the high collar, compared to the elastic collar. The high collar also resulted in a significantly smaller total ankle sagittal ROM, compared to the low collar (p = 0.001, dz = 0.634). Therefore, the high collar shoe should be effective in decreasing the amount of ROM and increasing the dynamic stability, leading to high ankle joint stiffness due to differences in design and material characteristics of the collar types.

Research Highlights: We firstly interpreted nutritional mechanisms involved in growth regulation and phytochemical accumulation in Cyclocarya paliurus (Batal.) Iljinskaja under three inoculant types, and selected bacterial inoculations for multiple purposes of C. paliurus plantation. Co-inoculation with phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) and N2-fixing bacteria (NFB) performed better in growth promotion and nutrient uptake than single bacterial inoculation. Background and Objectives: C. paliurus is a well-known medicinal plant as it accumulates bioactive compounds (BC) such as flavonoids, triterpenoids, and polysaccharides, in its leaves. However, the effects of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) on the growth and BC yields in C. paliurus are not known. To fill this gap, the effects of different inoculants should be examined. Materials and Methods: A pot experiment was conducted and two-year-old C. paliurus seedlings were inoculated with three inoculant types (PSB, NFB, PSB + NFB). After four rounds of inoculation, the growth characteristics and concentrations of flavonoids, triterpenoids, and polysaccharides, as well as the nutrients in soil and leaves, were measured. Results: The inoculations resulted in the elevation of soil available nutrients, with improvements in plant growth, BC yield, and N and P uptake in leaves. However, the changes in BC yields were mainly a result of elevated leaf biomass rather than BC concentrations, and leaf biomass was regulated by C:N:P stoichiometry. Co-inoculation with PSB and NFB was applicable for leaf production, while inocula related to NFB resulted in higher BC yields than PSB and control. Conclusions: Our results implied that bacterial inoculants improved plant growth and BC yield by altering the nutrients in soil and leaves, while three inoculant types showed a different pattern in which co-inoculation with four strains presented a greater performance than single bacterial addition.

Nowadays, computer networks are playing a more and more important role in people’s daily lives. Meanwhile, the security of computer networks has also attracted widespread concern. However, up to now, there is no universal and effective assessment approach for computer network security. Therefore, a novel network security risk assessment approach by combining subjective and objective weights under uncertainty is proposed. In the proposed evaluation approach, the uncertainty of evaluation data is taken into account, which is translated into objective weights through an uncertainty measure. By combining the subjective weights of evaluation criteria and the objective weights of evaluation data, the final weights can be obtained. Then, Dempster–Shafer (D-S) evidence theory and pignistic probability transformation (PPT) are employed to derive a consensus decision for the degree of the network security risk. Two illustrative examples are given to show the efficiency of the proposed approach. This approach of risk assessment, which combines subjective and objective weights, can not only effectively evaluate computer network security, but also be widely used in decision-making.

tRNase Z is the endonuclease responsible for removing the 3'-trailer sequences from precursor tRNAs, a prerequisite for the addition of the CCA sequence. It occurs in the short (tRNase Z(S)) and long (tRNase Z(L)) forms. Here we report the identification and sequence analysis of candidate tRNase Zs from 81 metazoan species. We found that the vast majority of deuterostomes, lophotrochozoans and lower metazoans have one tRNase Z(S) and one tRNase Z(L) genes, whereas ecdysozoans possess only a single tRNase Z(L) gene. Sequence analysis revealed that in metazoans, a single nuclear tRNase Z(L) gene is likely to encode both the nuclear and mitochondrial forms of tRNA 3'-end processing enzyme through mechanisms that include alternative translation initiation from two in-frame start codons and alternative splicing. Sequence conservation analysis revealed a variant PxKxRN motif, PxPxRG, which is located in the N-terminal region of tRNase Z(S)s. We also identified a previously unappreciated motif, AxDx, present in the C-terminal region of both tRNase Z(S)s and tRNase Z(L)s. The AxDx motif consisting mainly of a very short loop is potentially close enough to form hydrogen bonds with the loop containing the PxKxRN or PxPxRG motif. Through complementation analysis, we demonstrated the likely functional importance of the AxDx motif. In conclusion, our analysis supports the notion that in metazoans a single tRNase Z(L) has evolved to participate in both nuclear and mitochondrial tRNA 3'-end processing, whereas tRNase Z(S) may have evolved new functions. Our analysis also unveils new evolutionarily conserved motifs in tRNase Zs, including the C-terminal AxDx motif, which may have functional significance.
