The potential threat of global warming in the 21st century is on the ecosystem through many aspects, including the negative impact of rising global temperature on the health of humans and animals, especially domestic animals. The damage caused by heat stress to animals has been more and more significant as the worldwide climate continues to rise, along with the breeding industry’s expanding scale and stocking density, and it has become the most important stress-causing factor in southern China. In this review, we described the effects of heat stress on animal immune organs and immune system. The much-debated topic is how hyperthermia affects the tight junction barrier. Heat stress also induces inflammation in the body of animals causing low body weight and loss of appetite. This review also discussed that heat stress leads to hepatic disorder, and it also damages the intestine. The small intestine experiences ischemia, and the permeability of the intestine increases. Furthermore, the oxidative stress and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathways have a significant role in stress-induced cellular and organ injury. The study has shown that MAPK activity in the small intestine was increased by heat stress. Heat stress caused extreme small intestine damage, enhanced oxidative stress, and activated MAPK signaling pathways.

The complexation between cucurbit[8]uril, Q[8], and isonicotinic acid has been studied using 1H NMR spectroscopy, UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The results revealed that the 2:1 inclusion complex (4-PA)2@Q[8]·25H2O is formed, with two guests simultaneously encapsulated in the hydrophobic cavity; the mean planes of the guests are 3.535 Å apart. Background Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) is a promising therapeutic modality for esophageal achalasia worldwide. However, clinical failure and adverse events of POEM have still been concerned. Aim To compare the efficacy and safety of a novel mark-guided POEM with standard POEM. Methods A total of 133 patients with esophageal achalasia who underwent POEM from May 2013 to May 2019 were enrolled in this retrospective study. Of the 133 patients, there were 64 patients in the mark-guided POEM group and 69 patients in the standard POEM group. The clinical success, procedural duration and adverse events were compared between the two groups at 3 mo, 12 mo and 24 mo postoperatively. Results Characteristic baseline was similar in the mark-guided POEM group and standard POEM group. The clinical success was comparable between the two groups, ranging from 92% to 98%, at 3 mo, 12 mo and 24 mo postoperatively (all P > 0.5). Eckart score, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Questionnaire score and SF-36 score were not different between the two groups after treatment (all P > 0.05). No severe adverse events occurred in the two groups. However, mark-guided POEM required shorter procedural duration, and less use of proton pump inhibitors and lower incidence of reflux symptoms than the standard POEM (all P Conclusion Mark-guided POEM and standard POEM were both effective and safe for the treatment of esophageal achalasia. However, the mark-guided POEM was characterized by shorter procedural duration, less use of proton pump inhibitors and lower incidence of reflux symptoms.

Current guidelines recommend temporary cessation of clopidogrel for 7-10 days for patients on clopidogrel undergoing colonoscopy with polypectomy. However, recent prospective randomized controlled trials have advocated for uninterrupted clopidogrel, due to similar post-polypectomy bleeding (PPB) rates with and without continued clopidogrel therapy. Thus, a meta-analysis was conducted to assess the risk of PPB rate in patients on continued clopidogrel therapy. Systemically identified publications were used to compare the rate of PPB in patients on continued clopidogrel therapy with those who had interrupted clopidogrel therapy. The primary outcome was the incidence of PPB. The secondary outcomes were immediate PPB, delayed PPB and serious cardio-thrombotic events. This study has been registered in PROSPERO (no. CRD42018118325). A total of five studies were identified, which included 655 patients in the continued clopidogrel group and 6620 patients in the control group. There was an increased risk of PPB with continued clopidogrel [P=0.0003; risk ratio (RR), 1.96; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.36-2.83). The rate of immediate PPB was slightly higher in the continued clopidogrel group (5.77% vs. 1.77%, respectively), but was not statistically significant (P=0.06; RR, 1.57; 95%CI, 0.98-2.51). The rate of delayed PPB was increased in the continued clopidogrel group (P=0.0008; RR, 3.10; 95%CI, 1.60-5.98). However, no significant difference in serious cardio-thrombotic events was observed within 30 days (P=0.74; RR, 0.78; 95%CI, 0.18-3.40). Although continued clopidogrel therapy decreased the incidence of serious cardio-thrombotic events, the risk of delayed PPB was increased. Therefore, endoscopists should make all preparations to prevent bleeding in the perioperative period for patients at high thrombotic risk and on continued clopidogrel therapy, if polypectomy cannot be reasonably postponed.

The efficient and selective detection of isomers is an attractive but challenging area. In this study, a supramolecular fluorescent probe based on cucurbit[8]uril (Q[8]) and a pyrene-based derivative (G) was prepared, which effectively recognized and removed o-nitrophenol (o-NP) from a mixture of nitrophenol isomers. The newly designed probe G@Q[8] was characterized by NMR spectroscopy, fluorescence emission and UV-Vis spectroscopy, and its host-guest properties in aqueous solution were investigated. The results revealed that the system forms a stable inclusion complex with a stoichiometric ratio of 1:1, which was accompanied by a distinct fluorescence enhancement of G. Moreover, it was employed for the rapid detection of nitrophenol isomers where o-NP showed a dramatical quenching efficiency with a detection limit of 1.53 × 10

A 92-year-old woman complained of dysphagia and vomit for 4 days without previous disease history. We use the transparent cap empty esophageal solid foods.

Background. Ascites is a common clinical finding caused by many different diseases, so we developed a technique termed single orifice percutaneous endoscopic surgery (SOPES) which can access peritoneal cavity through the contralateral McBurney’s point or umbilicus to seek the underlying causes. In this study, we describe the initial clinical experience of SOPES and compare the application of two accesses. Methods. This is a retrospective study performed between 2007 and 2018. Patients with ascites of unknown origin who underwent these two kinds of SOPES were included. Main outcomes were measured by diagnostic accuracy, complication rate, procedure time, time till stitches removal, length of hospital stay, and hospital cost. Results. 148 patients successfully undergone SOPES via the contralateral McBurney’s point (IM group, n = 70 ) or the umbilicus (UM group, n = 78 ). 63 patients in the IM group and 71 patients in the UM group reached clear diagnosis (90.0% vs. 91.0%, p = 0.831 ). The overall complication rate was 5.4%, while the UM group was higher than the IM group (10.3% vs. 0%, p = 0.017 ). All complications were resolved after medical treatment, and no mortality resulted from this procedure. The procedure time and the time until stitches removal in the UM group were longer than that in the IM group. There were no significant differences in length of hospital stay and hospital cost between the two groups. Conclusions. SOPES, which combines the strength of minimally invasive single orifice incision and flexible angles of examination and instrumentation, is a newly developed flexible endoscopic surgical modality that provides new important clinical valuable in evaluation of ascites of unknown origin. Moreover, SOPES via the contralateral McBurney’s point was safer than the umbilicus approach.

BACKGROUND Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common chronic non-organic disease of the digestive system. Berberine (BBR) has been used to treat patients with IBS, but the underlying therapeutic mechanism is little understood. We believe that BBR achieves its therapeutic effect on IBS by preventing stress intestinal inflammation and visceral hypersensitivity and reducing bowel motility. AIM To test the hypothesis that BBR achieves its therapeutic effect on IBS by preventing subclinical inflammation of the intestinal mucosa and reducing visceral hypersensitivity and intestinal motility. METHODS IBS was induced in rats via water avoidance stress (WAS). qRT-PCR and histological analyses were used to evaluate the levels of cytokines and mucosal inflammation, respectively. Modified ELISA and qRT-PCR were used to evaluate the nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) signal transduction pathway. Colorectal distention test, gastrointestinal transit measurement, Western blot, and qRT-PCR were used to analyze visceral sensitivity, intestinal motility, the expression of C-kit (marker of Cajal mesenchymal cells), and the expression of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its receptor TrkB. RESULTS WAS led to mucosal inflammation, visceral hyperalgesia, and high intestinal motility. Oral administration of BBR inhibited the NF-κB signal transduction pathway, reduced the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines [interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, interferon-γ, and tumor necrosis factor-α], promoted the expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10 and transforming growth factor-β), and improved the terminal ileum tissue inflammation. BBR inhibited the expression of BDNF, TrkB, and C-kit in IBS rats, leading to the reduction of intestinal motility and visceral hypersensitivity. The therapeutic effect of BBR at a high dose (100 mg/kg) was superior to than that of the low-dose (25 mg/kg) group. CONCLUSION BBR reduces intestinal mucosal inflammation by inhibiting the intestinal NF-κB signal pathway in the IBS rats. BBR reduces the expression of BDNF, its receptor TrkB, and C-kit. BBR also reduces intestinal motility and visceral sensitivity to achieve its therapeutic effect on IBS.

Background Over the past years, only few cases of follicular lymphoma diagnosed by laparoscopy have been reported in the world. Since follicular lymphoma related ascites often causes occult disease and lacks specific clinical manifestations, it is often difficult to identify the cause by routine laboratory tests and imaging methods. Diagnostic experience is not sufficient and more cases need to be accumulated for further analysis. Case summary Ascites due to unknown reasons often causes problems for clinical diagnosis and treatment. In this paper, we report one case with ascites in whom the reason causing ascites was not identified through routine examination. Laparoscopic examination of the celiac lesions and histological examination of the lesions were performed and the final diagnosis was peritoneal follicular lymphoma. Conclusion Laparoscopic abdominal examination is of great significance for the definite diagnosis of ascites due to an unknown reason.

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided minimally invasive tissue acquisition can be performed by two approaches as follows: Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) and endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB). These have been evolved into leading approaches and widely used for the histological diagnosis of tumors in the gastrointestinal tract and adjacent organs. However, the role of EUS-FNA and EUS-FNB in disease diagnosis and evaluation remains controversial. Although the incidence of surgery-associated complications remains low, the consequences of needle tract seeding can be serious or even life-threatening. Recently, increasing case reports of needle tract seeding are emerging, especially caused by EUS-FNA. This complication needs serious consideration. In the present work, we integrated these case reports and the related literature, and summarized the relevant cases and technical characteristics of needle tract seeding caused by EUS-FNA and EUS-FNB. Collectively, our findings provided valuable insights into the prevention and reduction of such serious complication.

Experiments were conducted on cotton fabric to study the characteristics of upward flame spread including flame front, pyrolysis front, flame height, pyrolysis height. Samples of cotton fabric were 1.80 m high and 1.35m wide, with thickness of 0.44 mm, 0.42 mm, 0.28 mm and 0.30 mm. It shows that: the evolutions of flame front, pyrolysis front, burnout front conform to a non-linear relation, and the speed of upward flame spread is not constant, but inconstantly accelerated. The flame height and pyrolysis height have a relation with the thickness of the thin fuels. A linear relation between flame height, pyrolysis height and time was observed appreciably in the two former tests, a power function with power value of 1.4~1.7 in the two latter tests, which accords with the fact that the upward flame spread of the thinner cotton fabric is faster than that of the thicker ones. The correlation between flame height and pyrolysis height is consistent with the power function Hf = αHpn. In the four upward flame spread experiments, the coefficient α varies within the range of 1.4 ~1.7 and the power coefficient n is equivalent to 1 approximately. Not affected by the thickness, the correlation between flame height and pyrolysis height is a linear function approximately.

Full-scale experiments using two 4-door sedan passenger cars, placed side by side in the reverse direction, were carried out to establish the burning behavior and describe the spread of fire to adjacent car. The temperature was measured by thermocouples. Radiant heat flux was measured with heat flux gauge placed at a distance of 5 m, at the right side of the car. Four cameras were placed inside the car and in the fire test room recording burning behavior during the test. Engine compartment was ignited by a sponge dipped with little gasoline. During the experiment, the ignition was initiated in the engine compartment of car I and approximately 20 min were enough time for fire to spread into the second car. Fully-developed burning of two cars occurred at 29 min. It was observed that the flame spread through car roof faster than through the bottom of car compartment. The fire followed a slow rate spread from engine compartment to car cab. The temperature inside the car peaked at the point of 900 °C. The peak smoke temperatures at every location were measured at the range of 89–285 °C. The smoke production at the time of 11 min to 15 min 50 s of fire was 1.76 m 3 /s, which was obtained through indirect calculation method.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are reported to play critical roles in various cancers. Recently, mounting miRNAs are found to exert oncogenic or tumor inhibitory role in gastric cancer (GC), however, their potential molecular mechanism in GC remains ill-defined. Currently, we aimed to elucidate the functional and mechanistic impacts of a novel miRNA on GC cellular process. The significant down-regulation of miR-876-5p in GC cells attracted our attention. In function, we performed gain-of-function assays and found that miR-876-5p overexpression repressed proliferative, anti-apoptotic and migratory abilities and epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) of GC cells. By applying bioinformatics prediction and mechanism experiments, we verified that miR-876-5p could double-bind to the 3′ untranslated regions (3′UTRs) of Wnt family member 5A (WNT5A) and melanogenesis associated transcription factor (MITF), thus regulating their mRNA and protein levels. Both WNT5A and MITF were highly expressed in GC cells. Additionally, we conducted loss-of-function assays and confirmed the oncogenic roles of WNT5A and MITF in GC. Finally, rescue assay uncovered a fact that miR-876-5p suppressed GC cell viability and migration, but induced cell apoptosis via targeting WNT5A and MITF. Taken together, we might offer a valuable evidence for miR-876-5p role in GC development.

In recent years, much research has been devoted to the evaluation of thin clients; however, few have studied the construction of kernels. Given the current status of mobile communication, biologists obviously desire the deployment of multi-processors, which embodies the natural principles of cyberinformatics. We concentrate our efforts on proving that IPv7 and voice-over-IP are always incompatible [11].

The goal of this study was to provide insight into the pathogenicity of Onchocerca fasciata in Camelus bactrianus to help control onchocerciasis. From November 2015 to January 2016, the prevalence and severity of onchocerciasis were recorded in 152 camels. Nodules containing Onchocerca were collected and observed. Adult parasites were extracted from the nodules and identified via light microscopy as well as by partial sequencing of the cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) gene. The sequences were examined and compared to similar sequences from other Onchocerca species. In total, 80.3% of camels were parasitized. The severity of infection varied, as camels harboured between one and fifteen nodules. The morphology and the cuticle differed in both sexes and displayed considerable variation in the thickness and structure of different body parts. Identification was further confirmed using molecular biology methods. This study provides a comprehensive morphological description of Onchocerca fasciata isolated from camels. The prevalence and intensity of infection (assessed via nodules) varied in the Bactrian camels. The structure of the cuticle was an important morphological feature for species differentiation in Onchocerca. Based on our data, the morphological assessment of O. fasciata represents a reliable method to characterize other Onchocerca species.

Endoscopic biliary sphincterotomy (EST) is commonly performed during therapeutic endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), but is an independent risk factor for post-ERCP pancreatitis, bleeding and duodenal perforation. These are partly ascribed to the electrosurgical current mode used for EST, and currently the optimal current model for EST remains controversial. In this study, we aimed to compare the rate of complications undergoing EST using the Endocut versus the blended current. A systematic search of databases was performed for relevant published and prospective studies including randomized clinical trials (RCTs) to compare Endocut with blended current modes for EST. Data were collected from inception until 1 July 2018, using post-ERCP pancreatitis, bleeding and perforation as primary outcomes. Three RCTs including a total of 594 patients met the inclusion criteria. Our meta-analysis results showed the rate of post-ERCP pancreatitis, primarily mild to moderate pancreatitis, was no different between Endocut versus blended current modes [risk ratio (RR) 0.61, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.25–1.52, P = 0.29]. However, the risk of endoscopically bleeding events, primarily mild bleeding, was lower in studies using Endocut versus blended current (RR 0.54, 95% CI 0.31–0.95, P = 0.03). Notably, none of the patients experienced perforation in these three trials. The rate of post-ERCP pancreatitis was not significantly different when using the Endocut versus blended current during EST. Nevertheless, compared with the blended current, Endocut reduced the incidence of endoscopically evident bleeding; however, the available data were insufficient to assess the perforation risk.

Curcumin has a therapeutic effect on ulcerative colitis, but the underlying mechanism has yet to be elucidated. The aim of the present study was to clarify the possible mechanisms. Dextran sulfate sodium‑induced colitis mice were treated with curcumin via gavage for 7 days. The effects of curcumin on disease activity index (DAI) and pathological changes of colonic tissue in mice were determined. Interleukin (IL)‑6, IL‑10, IL‑17 and IL‑23 expression levels were measured by ELISA. Flow cytometry was used to detect the ratio of mouse spleen regulatory T cells (Treg)/Th17 cells, and western blotting was used to measure the nuclear protein hypoxia inducible factor (HIF)‑1α level. The results demonstrated that curcumin can significantly reduce DAI and spleen index scores and improve mucosal inflammation. Curcumin could also regulate the re‑equilibration of Treg/Th17. IL‑10 level in the colon was significantly increased, while inflammatory cytokines IL‑6, IL‑17 and IL‑23 were significantly reduced following curcumin treatment. No significant difference in HIF‑1α was observed between the colitis and the curcumin group. It was concluded that oral administration of curcumin can effectively treat experimental colitis by regulating the re‑equilibration of Treg/Th17 and that the regulatory mechanism may be closely related to the IL‑23/Th17 pathway. The results of the present study provided molecular insight into the mechanism by which curcumin treats ulcerative colitis.

BFD model for predicating smoke temperature of large space building can accurately predict the temperature field distribution of the whole process of fire, but the shape coefficient of important parameters in the model is not comprehensive. In this paper, several important factors affecting BFD model had been discussed and the value of shape coefficient (w1/w2) in different fire scenarios had been given. Temperature field distribution under various condition had been gained through simulating more than 20 kinds of fire scenarios by FDS, then the appropriate value of w1/w2 had been determined by fitting of origin. Finding that the fire growth factor has a decisive effect on w1/w2, and same w1/w2 can be used in BFD model in different position below the ceiling under the same fire scenario. Meanwhile that building height and area have little impact on w1/w2 under H>6m or S>1500m2 had been validated again. Therefore, BFD model application has been greatly simplified and the temperature of BFD model using above w1/w2 are in accordance with the results of FDS simulating for large space building. Based on the results obtained, the possibility of applying BFD model into engineering field becomes very high.

Intense yellow-white NaLa(MoO4)2: Dy3+ phosphors co-doped with Li+ ions have been successfully synthesized via facile sol-gel combustion approach. The dependence of the crystal structure and crystallinity, particle morphology, photoluminescence property, fluorescent lifetime and absolute quantum efficiency of the as-prepared phosphors has been investigated. Stable yellow-white emission from 440 nm to 600 nm and higher absolute quantum efficiency were studied on Dy3+ doped NaLa(MoO4)2, Dy3+ and Li+ co-doped NaLa(MoO4)2, respectively. Surprisingly, only a small amount of Li+ can lead to a remarkable increase of the PL intensity and the quantum efficiency. Especially, along with 0.75 mol% Li+ ions induced in the NaLa(MoO4)2: Dy3+ phosphors, the absolute quantum efficiency increased from 13.8% to 22%, and the possible mechanism has been deeply discussed. Outstanding luminescence properties have certified that NaLa(MoO4)2: Dy3+, Li+ phosphors are promising candidates as new yellow-white components for optical devices.

Spon2 is a proto-oncogene matrix protein that plays an essential role in the tumorigenesis and metastasis of gastric cancer. The protein has recently been found to function as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor through the activation of RhoGTPase. Here, computational modeling and bioinformatics analysis were employed to investigate the molecular mechanism and biological implication underlying Spon2 autoinhibition. It is revealed that the binding of PxxP motif to SH domain can stabilize the intramolecular interaction between the N-terminal helix and DH domain of Spon2, thus shifting the protein into an autoinhibitory state. Here, we proposed releasing Spon2 autoinhibition by targeting SH domain with competitive peptide ligands. To verify this notion, the PxxP sequence was adopted as the start to derive an array of efficient SH binders by using a structure-based rational design strategy, which were then substantiated with fluorescence spectroscopy analysis and guanine nucleotide exchange test. Consequently, the obtained peptide ligands were determined to have a moderate or high affinity for SH domain; they can also enhance Spon2 exchange activity by 1.2–6.1 folds, exhibiting a significant correlation with their SH-binding affinity (Pearson’s coefficient = 0.92). In addition, neutral substitution of conserved residues in a high-affinity peptide ligand can largely reduce its Spon2-activating potency, confirming that the designed peptide activates Spon2 by competitively disrupting SH–PxxP interaction.

INTRODUCTION The Saccharomyces cerevisiae 2.0 project (Sc2.0) aims to modify the yeast genome with a series of densely spaced designer changes. Both a synthetic yeast chromosome arm (synIXR) and the entirely synthetic chromosome (synIII) function with high fitness in yeast. For designer genome synthesis projects, precise engineering of the physical sequence to match the specified design is important for the systematic evaluation of underlying design principles. Yeast can maintain nuclear chromosomes as rings, occurring by chance at repeated sequences, although the cyclized format is unfavorable in meiosis given the possibility of dicentric chromosome formation from meiotic recombination. Here, we describe the de novo synthesis of synthetic yeast chromosome V (synV) in the “Build-A-Genome China” course, perfectly matching the designer sequence and bearing loxPsym sites, distinguishable watermarks, and all the other features of the synthetic genome. We generated a ring synV derivative with user-specified cyclization coordinates and characterized its performance in mitosis and meiosis. RATIONALE Systematic evaluation of underlying Sc2.0 design principles requires that the final assembled synthetic genome perfectly match the designed sequence. Given the size of yeast chromosomes, synthetic chromosome construction is performed iteratively, and new mutations and unpredictable events may occur during synthesis; even a very small number of unintentional nucleotide changes across the genome could have substantial effects on phenotype. Therefore, precisely matching the physical sequence to the designed sequence is crucial for verification of the design principles in genome synthesis. Ring chromosomes can extend those design principles to provide a model for genomic rearrangement, ring chromosome evolution, and human ring chromosome disorders. RESULTS We chemically synthesized, assembled, and incorporated designer chromosome synV (536,024 base pairs) of S. cerevisiae according to Sc2.0 principles, based on the complete nucleotide sequence of native yeast chromosome V (576,874 base pairs). This work was performed as part of the “Build-A-Genome China” course in Tianjin University. We corrected all mutations found—including duplications, substitutions, and indels—in the initial synV strain by using integrative cotransformation of the precise desired changes and by means of a clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 (Cas9)–based method. Altogether, 3331 corrected base pairs were required to match to the designed sequence. We generated a strain that exactly matches all designer sequence changes that displays high fitness under a variety of culture conditions. All corrections were verified with whole-genome sequencing; RNA sequencing revealed only minor changes in gene expression—most notably, decreases in expression of genes relocated near synthetic telomeres as a result of design. We constructed a functional circular synV (ring_synV) derivative in yeast by precisely joining both chromosome ends (telomeres) at specified coordinates. The ring chromosome showed restoration of subtelomeric gene expression levels. The ring_synV strain exhibited fitness comparable with that of the linear synV strain, revealed no change in sporulation frequency, but notably reduced spore viability. In meiosis, heterozygous or homozygous diploid ring_wtV and ring_synV chromosomes behaved similarly, exhibiting substantially higher frequency of the formation of zero-spore tetrads, a type that was not seen in the rod chromosome diploids. Rod synV chromosomes went through meiosis with high spore viability, despite no effort having been made to preserve meiotic competency in the design of synV. CONCLUSION The perfect designer-matched synthetic chromosome V provides strategies to edit sequence variants and correct unpredictable events, such as off-target integration of extra copies of synthetic DNA elsewhere in the genome. We also constructed a ring synthetic chromosome derivative and evaluated its fitness and stability in yeast. Both synV and synVI can be circularized and can power yeast cell growth without affecting fitness when gene content is maintained. These fitness and stability phenotypes of the ring synthetic chromosome in yeast provide a model system with which to probe the mechanism of human ring chromosome disorders. We determined the rock types, the authigenic minerals, the paragenetic sequence, and the origin of dawsonite in pyroclastic rocks from the Yimin Formation of Beier Sag in the Hailar Basin, China. Dawsonite, a diagenetic mineral, is thought to result from a large influx of CO 2 and, therefore, this system represents a natural analogue for in-situ mineral carbon storage. The studied host rocks are mainly tuffs/tuffaceous sandstones which now contain up to 70 vol% authigenic carbonates, including dawsonite, ankerite, and siderite. The initial alteration of the tuffs yielded minor siderite. Kaolinite, illite and mixed illite/smectite then formed as product phases. Dawsonite and quartz subsequently precipitated in response to CO 2 influx apparently coupled to feldspar and perhaps kaolinte dissolution. Dawsonite reaches a maximum 25 vol% of the bulk rock. Mass balance suggests that this CO 2 influx was coupled to the external import of sodium and export of SiO 2 . Ankerite and additional siderite precipitated during the late-stage alkaline diagenesis. The carbon isotope values of the dawsonite are in the range −4.1‰ to −2.2‰, indicating the magmatic origin of the CO 2 . Vitrinite reflectance and thermal gradient constraints suggest that the dawsonite at this location formed at a temperature of ∼75 °C.

We have studied melt and fluid inclusions in minerals from alkali basalts, mantle xenoliths, and dawsonite-bearing sandstones from the Shuangliao volcanic field in southern Songliao Basin, Northeast China. The inclusions have been investigated using petrographic, geochemical, and laser Raman spectroscopic techniques. Volcanic rocks of the Shuangliao field are predominantly alkali olivine basalts that contain rare mantle xenoliths. Silicate melt and fluid inclusions are common in both olivine phenocrysts and the mantle xenoliths. The fluid inclusions are mainly composed of CO2 with small amounts of CO, CH4, N2, and H2O, which is consistent with an upper mantle origin. CO2 gas reservoirs in the southern Songliao Basin are mostly derived from a mantle–magmatic source. Coeval fluid-inclusion homogenization temperatures, coupled with the thermal burial history, show that the CO2 gas reservoirs in the southern Songliao Basin are Cenozoic (40–63 Ma) and coeval with the magmatism in the Shuangliao volcanic field....

In TCP-IP network environment that can’t provide a reliable guarantee of QoS, congestion and insufficient bandwidth becoming a major bottleneck in network applications, in order to prevent multimedia streaming occupied too many network resources ,leading to the traditional TCP flow can’t be normal transmission, the paper analyzes the RTP protocol QoS control and TCP congestion control mechanism ,directs the phenomenon of multimedia streaming flow seizing the traditional network resources, and proposes a tentative for streaming media rate control algorithm, effectively ensuring the multimedia streaming and traditional TCP flows to friendly coexist and fair competition.

In the paper, based on the results of lean gas furnace temperature field, the study was carried out on firing earthenware. Compared with earthenware which fired with electric furnace, earthenware fired with Low-carbon Catalytic Combustion Furnace was having apparent advantages: exquisite appearance, shorter time of firing it and no pollution, etc. It provides experimental support for ceramics technology further improvement and solves the environmental pollution problem of traditional burners.

The purpose of digital image scrambling technology is to put a meaningful image into a disordered one to enhance the resistance ability against illegal attacks so as to improve security. This paper proposes an image scrambling transformation method based on the idea of inverse transformation in finite integer domain. It includes gray transformation and position transformation. At the same time, it analyzes the security and the scrambling cycle of the proposed method. Experimental results show that the proposed method has a good scrambling effect and a long scrambling cycle; moreover, it is easy to realize.

This paper discusses I/O architecture and key techniques of RAID controller. The main target is insert the request of the RAID module which have split user request into single disk R/D into corresponding I/O disk queue. According the priority and read/write characteristic, we adjust the requests order in response request queue or combination the fore-and-aft small requests into a big request, consequently we implemented the scheduler policy of I/O requests.

Network intrusion detection is one of the hottest research issues on the network security recently. In the paper, three kinds intrusion detection model are introduced. By using Bayesian methods, Fuzzy Decision Engine and Immunity-Based Model, we can improve the performance of intrusion detection system and effectively reduce the false positive alarm. Based on the three models, some drawbacks of NIDS have been analyzed and a new architecture of IDS has been put forward. In this new architecture, IDS are viewed as a function instead of a product.

Accurate calculation of weighted centroid of dBZ (dBZ stands for decibels of reflectivity of a radar signal reflected off a remote object.) is the basis of studying characteristic tracking algorithms on the vector echoes. The authors mainly discussed the calculation methods of weighted centroid of dBZ on vector echo data. Based on the calculation method on raster echo data, some calculation methods of weighted centroid of dBZ on vector echo data were proposed by considering the weights of features’ area and distance from their location to radar center. And then, taking the base reflectivity products of CINRAD/SA weather radar in Meizhou city of China as data sources, the authors transformed this type of echo data into the vector format. In the end, using the vector echo maps above, the weighted centroid of the same area was calculated by the methods above. Comparing the results with the value of the same area on raster echo maps, the calculated results and the sources of error were analyzed and one conclusion was drawn: it is more accurate to take the features’ area and distance to radar center as weights during the calculation of weighted centroid of dBZ on vector echo maps.
