Abstract Background Individuals with schizophrenia require prolonged antipsychotic medication treatment. But more than 50% of individuals with schizophrenia experience adverse medication experiences during their antipsychotic treatments. Such individuals often adjust or discontinue medication, leading to disease relapse and impaired social functioning. Psychiatric nurses should pay close attention to the medication experiences of individuals with schizophrenia. This research explore the relationship between medication burden and medication experience, as well as the mediating effect of medication belief in stable patients with schizophrenia. Methods A convenience sample of hospitalized stable patients with schizophrenia were selected from Daqing Third Hospital and Baiyupao Hospital from September 2023 to December 2023. A survey was conducted with them using a questionnaire consisting of general information questionnaire, The Subjective Well-being Under Neuroleptic Treatment Scale(SWN), The Living with Medicines Questionnaire(LMQ), Beliefs about Medicines Questionnaire-Specific (BMQ-Specific). Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between LMQ, BMQ-Specific and SWN scores, and multiple linear regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of medication experience in patients with schizophrenia. AMOS 24.0 was used to construct the structural equation modeling(SEM), and the mediation effect of the SEM was tested using Bootstrap method. Results According to the sample size calculation requirements of structural equation model, a total of 300 samples were required in this study, and 400 effective questionnaires were actually collected in this study, which met the sample size requirements for constructing structural equation models. Abstract Ultra-high-rise buildings require high concrete bearing capacity. Ordinary concrete often fails to meet the project requirements. Admixture of admixtures in concrete is a means of solution. Currently, studies on the incorporation of basalt fiber (BF) and fly ash (FA) in concrete are relatively mature. However, research on incorporating nano-Titanium Carbide (nano-TiC) in concrete is still relatively scarce, which has a lot of room for development. To further improve the mechanical properties of concrete, BF, and FA synergized with nano-TiC were incorporated into concrete to produce TBF concrete in this study. And Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the mechanical properties of concrete. The collapse and compressive deformation damage characteristics of concrete were analyzed. The microstructure of the cement matrix was analyzed by the SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). An optimization model of the TBF concrete craving function was developed. Optimized ratios with compressive, split tensile, and flexural strengths as response objectives were obtained, and the accuracy of the optimized ratios was investigated using the same experimental conditions. The results of the study showed that FA increased the collapse of concrete, while nano-TiC and BF decreased the collapse of concrete. Under uniaxial compression, nano-TiC, FA, and BF together incorporated into concrete can improve its compressive damage state. Moderate amounts of nano-TiC, BF, and FA could improve the mechanical properties of concrete. Their optimal mixing ratio admixtures were 0.88%, 0.24%, and 5.49%, respectively. And the measured values under the same conditions were compared with the predicted values. The maximum difference in compressive strength was 6.09%. The maximum difference in split tensile strength was 7.14%. The maximum difference in flexural strength was 8.45%. This indicated that the accuracy of the RSM optimization model was good. A moderate amount of nano-TiC, FA, and BF could improve the densification of concrete.

Abstract The Absorption-addiction model suggests that people worship celebrities to compensate for some personal or social defects, so poor mental state is related to celebrity worship. The current study aimed to explore the underlying mechanisms influencing celebrity worship. A total of 1,147 participants (aged 19–26 years) completed online questionnaires to assess social anxiety, mobile phone dependence, parental income and celebrity worship. Results showed that: (1) social anxiety, socioeconomic status (SES) and celebrity worship were positively correlated; (2) Social anxiety affected celebrity worship through mobile phone dependence; (3) SES played a moderating role in the mediation model. At higher levels of SES, individuals with high social anxiety showed reduced dependence on mobile phones. These findings highlight the importance of mobile phone dependence and family SES in celebrity worship. Additionally, the findings demonstrated that females are more likely to pay attention to celebrities, but the greater SES and reduced mobile phone dependence can mitigate their celebrity addiction.

The load-bearing capacity of a building is influenced by the strength of the concrete. However, when faced with complex environments, ordinary concrete is not always adequate. The strength of concrete can be enhanced by incorporating additives into it. At this point, the study of adding basalt fiber (BF) and nano-SiO2 (NS) to concrete is pretty advanced. Still, research on the incorporation of nano-TiC (NT) into concrete is limited. In order to study the effect of NT, BF, and NS on the strength of concrete, in this paper, these materials were incorporated into concrete and NSF concrete was made by semi-dry mixing. And the concrete was analyzed for slump, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength, and modulus of elasticity. The optimization of the mechanical characteristics of concrete was conducted using response surface methodology (RSM), and the microstructure of concrete was used for analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). To develop a thirst function optimization model based on NSF concrete, parallel experiments were used to verify the accuracy of the optimization results. The research findings show that NS, NT, and BF reduced the slump of concrete. Adding NT, NS, and BF in moderate amounts can enhance the mechanical characteristics of the concrete. The material’s optimal proportions for mixing were 0.85% for NT, 0.11% for BF, and 1.94% for NS. The optimized concrete has a maximum error of 9.03% in compressive strength, 9.30% in split tensile strength, and 9.82% in flexural strength.

This case report presents a 72-year-old male patient who presented with exertional dyspnea for over 10 years, which had progressively worsened over the past 4 months. Transthoracic echocardiography revealed severe aortic and mitral regurgitation, with a left ventricular ejection fraction of 37% and a left ventricular end-diastolic diameter of 64 mm. Despite receiving long-term optimal medical management, there was no improvement in symptoms or severity of valvular regurgitation. Given the relatively high surgical risk associated with double valve replacement in this elderly patient and his preference for minimally invasive procedures, a one-stage transapical aortic valve replacement and transcatheter mitral valve repair using the edge-to-edge technique were planned. The patient was discharged 8 days post-procedure without any complications. At 1-month follow-up, the patient's New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional class had improved to grade II.

Abstract Intelligent recognition methods for classifying non-stationary and non-invasive epileptic diagnoses are essential tools in neurological research. Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals exhibit better temporal characteristics in the detection of epilepsy compared to radiation medical images like computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as they provide real-time insights into the disease’ condition. While classical machine learning methods have been used for epilepsy EEG classification, they still often require manual parameter adjustments. Previous studies primarily focused on binary epilepsy recognition (epilepsy vs. healthy subjects) rather than as ternary status recognition (continuous epilepsy vs. intermittent epilepsy vs. healthy subjects). In this study, we propose a novel deep learning method that combines a convolution neural network (CNN) with a long short-term memory (LSTM) network for multi-class classification including both binary and ternary tasks, using a publicly available benchmark database on epilepsy EEGs. The hybrid CNN-LSTM automatically acquires knowledge without the need for extra pre-processing or manual intervention. Besides, the joint network method benefits from memory function and stronger feature extraction ability. Our proposed hybrid CNN-LSTM achieves state-of-the-art performance in ternary classification, outperforming classical machine learning and the latest deep learning models. For the three-class classification, in the method achieves an accuracy, specificity, sensitivity, and ROC of 98%, 97.4, 98.3% and 96.8%, respectively. In binary classification, the method achieves better results, with ACC of 100%, 100%, and 99.8%, respectively. Our dual stream spatiotemporal hybrid network demonstrates superior performance compared to other methods. Notably, it eliminates the need for manual operations, making it more efficient for doctors to diagnose during the clinical process and alleviating the workload of neurologists.

While genetic and environmental factors have been shown as predictors of children’s reading ability, the interaction effects of identified genetic risk susceptibility and the specified environment for reading ability have rarely been investigated. The current study assessed potential gene–environment (G×E) interactions on reading ability in 1477 school-aged children. The gene–environment interactions on character recognition were investigated by an exploratory analysis between the risk single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), which were discovered by previous genome-wide association studies of developmental dyslexia (DD), and parental education (PE). The re-parameterized regression analysis suggested that this G×E interaction conformed to the strong differential susceptibility model. The results showed that rs281238 exhibits a significant interaction with PE on character recognition. Children with the “T” genotype profited from high PE, whereas they performed worse in low PE environments, but “CC” genotype children were not malleable in different PE environments. This study provided initial evidence for how the significant SNPs in developmental dyslexia GWA studies affect children’s reading performance by interacting with the environmental factor of parental education.

Abstract KIAA0319, a well-studied candidate gene, has been shown to be associated with reading ability and developmental dyslexia. In the present study, we investigated whether KIAA0319 affects reading ability by interacting with the parental education level and whether rapid automatized naming (RAN), phonological awareness and morphological awareness mediate the relationship between KIAA0319 and reading ability. A total of 2284 Chinese children from primary school grades 3 and 6 participated in this study. Chinese character reading accuracy and word reading fluency were used as measures of reading abilities. The cumulative genetic risk score (CGS) of 13 SNPs in KIAA0319 was calculated. Results revealed interaction effect between CGS of KIAA0319 and parental education level on reading fluency. The interaction effect suggested that individuals with a low CGS of KIAA0319 were better at reading fluency in a positive environment (higher parental educational level) than individuals with a high CGS. Moreover, the interaction effect coincided with the differential susceptibility model. The results of the multiple mediator model revealed that RAN mediates the impact of the genetic cumulative effect of KIAA0319 on reading abilities. These findings provide evidence that KIAA0319 is a risk vulnerability gene that interacts with environmental factor to impact reading abilities and demonstrate the reliability of RAN as an endophenotype between genes and reading associations.

The massive accumulation of graphite tailings causes serious environmental pollution, mainly from heavy metal pollution. Therefore, this article introduces a method of using graphite tailings as a high-content main material, cement as a small component of the auxiliary cementitious material, and clay as a substitute for cement. The compressive strength and permeability of graphite tailing–solidified material (GT, GT–Clay) were tested, and the effect of clay partially replacing cement as an auxiliary cementitious agent on GT–Clay performance was compared. In addition, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP) was used to analyze the effect of the graphite tailing placement time on the heavy metal content, as well as the changes in the GT heavy metal leaching concentration and its heavy metal content under outdoor freeze–thaw conditions. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to elucidate the microstructural changes in the GT–Clay. The experimental results show that, as the substitution of clay for cement increased from 0 to 50%, the compressive strength of the 90% GT–Clay gradually decreased, and the permeability also increased. The compressive strength of 95% GT–Clay did not show significant changes, but the permeability increased, and when mixed with quicklime, gypsum, and silica fume, the permeability decreased. The Ni and As in graphite tailings fluctuated significantly with the placement time. The heavy metal leaching concentrations of the 90% GT and 95% GT were below the standard limit, and Cd, As, and Ni in GT were potential sources of pollution. The analysis of the microscopic test results showed that the hydration products of the GT–Clay included ettringite, Ca(OH)2, and calcium silicate hydrates. The hydration product stabilized and filled the gaps between the tailing particles, thereby cementing them together. Not only did it improve the mechanical strength of GT, it also reduced the permeability and heavy metal leaching rate. This study provides a new analytical approach to applying graphite tailings for environmental treatment.

IntroductionTranscatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is the first-line treatment for patients with moderate-to-high surgical risk of severe aortic stenosis. Paravalvular leakage (PVL) is a serious complication of TAVR, and aortic valve calcification contributes to the occurrence of PVL. This study aimed to investigate the effect of location and quantity of calcification in the aortic valve complex (AVC) and left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) on PVL after TAVR.MethodWe performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the effect of quantity and location of aortic valve calcification on PVL after TAVR using observational studies from PubMed and EMBASE databases from inception to February 16, 2022.ResultsTwenty-four observational studies with 6,846 patients were included in the analysis. A high quantity of calcium was observed in 29.6% of the patients; they showed a higher risk of significant PVL. There was heterogeneity between studies (I2 = 15%). In the subgroup analysis, PVL after TAVR was associated with the quantity of aortic valve calcification, especially those located in the LVOT, valve leaflets, and the device landing zone. A high quantity of calcium was associated with PVL, regardless of expandable types or MDCT thresholds used. However, for valves with sealing skirt, the amount of calcium has no significant effect on the incidence of PVL.ConclusionOur study elucidated the effect of aortic valve calcification on PVL and showed that the quantity and location of aortic valve calcification can help predict PVL. Furthermore, our results provide a reference for the selection of MDCT thresholds before TAVR. Soil fungal communities play crucial roles in mediating the functional associations between above- and belowground components during forest restoration. Forest restoration shapes the alterations in plant and soil environments, which exerts a crucial effect on soil fungal assemblages. However, the changes, assembly processes, and driving factors of soil fungi communities during tropical forest restoration are still uncertain. We used Illumina high-throughput sequencing to identify the changes of soil fungal communities across a tropical secondary forest succession chronosequence (i.e., 12-, 42-, and 53-yr stages) in Xishuangbanna. During forest restoration, the dominant taxa of soil fungi communities shifted from r- to K-strategists. The relative abundance of Ascomycota (r-strategists) decreased by 10.0% and that of Basidiomycota (K-strategists) increased by 4.9% at the 53-yr restoration stage compared with the 12-yr stage. From the 12-yr to 53-yr stage, the operational taxonomic unit (OTU), abundance-based coverage estimator (ACE), Chao1, and Shannon index of fungal communities declined by 14.5–57.4%. Although the stochastic processes were relatively important in determining fungal assemblages at the late stage, the fungal community assembly was dominated by deterministic processes rather than stochastic processes. The shifts in soil properties resulting from tropical forest restoration exerted significant effects on fungal composition and diversity. The positive effects of microbial biomass carbon, readily oxidizable carbon, and soil water content explained 11.5%, 9.6%, and 9.1% of the variations in fungal community composition, respectively. In contrast, microbial biomass carbon (40.0%), readily oxidizable carbon (14.0%), and total nitrogen (13.6%) negatively contributed to the variations in fungal community diversity. Our data suggested that the changes in fungal composition and diversity during tropical forest restoration were primarily mediated by the positive or negative impacts of soil carbon and nitrogen pools.

The deep carbonate buried hills are widely distributed in the Nanpu Sag of Bohai Bay Basin. They have experienced multiple stages of tectonic movement and show a tectonic pattern of alternating sub-sags and uplifts. Exploration discoveries have been achieved in multiple structural belts and layers. In recent years, with the deepening of exploration, many exploratory wells deployed on the slope belt and the downdip area were failed, and the exploration of deep buried hills has stagnated. To clarify the potential and exploration direction of buried hills, on the basis of improvement of seismic data, starting from the three major accumulation elements of hydrocarbon supply window and supply mode, high-quality reservoir type and trap type, the re-evaluation of accumulation conditions and the re-understanding of main controlling factors of accumulation were carried out. The deep Paleozoic carbonate buried hills in the Nanpu Sag develop multiple sets of reservoir-caprock assemblages, [JP] with good physical properties, high-quality source rocks, and favorable hydrocarbon accumulation conditions. Oil and gas enrichment is controlled by multiple factors such as hydrocarbon supply mode, window, type of trap and reservoir, and there are various types of oil and gas reservoirs. The hydrocarbon supply window controls the formation of hydrocarbon accumulation, the type of trap determines the type of oil and gas reservoir, and the dominant reservoirs formed by fault fracture-supergenic karst and fracture-burial karst generated by multi-stage karstification control the enrichment and high yield. The comprehensive evaluation of the accumulation conditions shows that the slope area and the trough area of the Nanpu No. 1 and No. 2 structural belts as well as the inner Cambrian buried hills of the Nanpu No. 2 and Nanpu No. 3 structural belts are important directions for the next exploration. Through the integrated application of geological research and exploration technology, several favorable[JP] exploration targets have been classified and evaluated. Overall breakthroughs have been made in the exploration of carbonate buried hills in the Nanpu Sag, and good exploration results have been achieved.

Abstract Background Calcific aortic valve stenosis (CAVS) represents a serious health threat to elderly patients. Post-stenotic aortic dilation, a common feature in CAVS patients, might progress into aneurysm and even dissection, potential consequences of CAVS, and predicts a poor prognosis. This study sought to investigate the association of lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), an inflammatory biomarker, with severe post-stenotic aortic dilation in a case–control study in Chinese population. Materials and methods 208 consecutive patients with CAVS were recruited retrospectively in a case–control study in Chinese population, from July 1, 2015 to June 31, 2018. LMR was statistically analyzed using the ROC curve and binary logistic regression analyses for its prognostic value in severe post-stenotic aortic dilation. The thermal fatigue behavior of multicomponent Al-7Si-0.3Mg alloys in four different treatment states at typical temperature amplitudes 20 °C→350 °C was studied. The morphology of the second phase particles and crack propagation, and distribution characteristics of dislocations in the thermal fatigue specimens of multicomponent Al-7Si-0.3Mg alloys, were analyzed by optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX spectrum), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The influencing factors, the process, and the mechanism of thermal fatigue crack propagation were mainly studied. The results show that under the same temperature amplitude, the thermal fatigue properties and dislocation densities of the new aluminum alloy and the new aluminum alloy under T6 heat treatment are significantly higher than that of the multicomponent Al-7Si-0.3Mg alloy in cast and refined and modified treatment. The crack growth of thermal fatigue specimen depends on three factors: the temperature amplitude, oxidation, and residual stress. The process of thermal fatigue crack propagation mainly experiences crack initiation and the formation of microcracks, but only a few microcracks continue to expand rapidly or preferentially expand into main cracks. The mechanism of thermal fatigue crack propagation is mainly under the action of thermal stress, the crack tip undergoes a cycle of repeated alternation of sharpening → passivation → sharpening, and the crack continues to move forward from its tip intermittently in the way of propagation → stopping → propagation until fracture failure.

ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to evaluate the association between Type D personality and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in patients with hypertension.MethodsA total of 324 subjects with hypertension were included in the study. All of them completed questionnaires on demographic characteristics, Type D personality Scale, Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). The Type D personality effect was analyzed as both dichotomous and continuous methods.ResultsThe incidence of MCI was 56.5% in hypertensive individuals. Background: We aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of additional ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) with mesalazine, compared to mesalazine alone in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC). The mechanism was evaluated by monitoring the changes of IL-23-IL-17 axis and the intestinal microflora. Methods: In this prospective, single center study, patients with UC were randomly assigned to the Mesalazine group (n=20) or the UDCA + Mesalazine group (n=20). Mayo score and Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire (IBDQ), and fecal samples for 16S rRNA sequencing and blood samples for IL-23 and IL-17 ELISA were collected for analysis. Results: Mayo scores and IBDQ score of the UDCA + Mesalazine group were significantly better than those of the Mesalazine group (P = 0.015 and P < 0.001, respectively). At post-treatment week 4, IL-23 and IL-17 levels were significantly lower in the UDCA + Mesalazine group compared to those in the Mesalazine group (both P < 0.038). In patients with UC after treatment, Firmicutes in the UDCA + Mesalazine group was higher than those in the Mesalazine group (P < 0.001). The UDCA + Mesalazine group showed lower percentage of Proteobacteria compared to those in the Mesalazine group (P < 0.001). Conclusion: Additional UDCA could provide better therapeutic effects than mesalazine alone, possibly due to the change of IL-23 and IL-17 and the proportional distribution of intestinal microflora.

Abstract Background Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BM-MSC) has been shown to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). However, excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) increases the apoptosis of BM-MSCs, leading to poor survival and engraft efficiency. Thus, improving the ability of BM-MSCs to scavenge ROS may considerably enhance the effectiveness of transplantation therapy. Mammalian Ste20-like kinase 1 (Mst1) is a pro-apoptotic molecule which increases ROS production. The aim of this study is to uncover the underlying mechanisms the effect of Mst1 inhibition on the tolerance of BM-MSCs under H2O2 condition. Methods Mst1 expression in BM-MSCs was inhibited via transfection with adenoviruses expressing a short hairpin (sh) RNA directed against Mst1 (Ad-sh-Mst1) and exposure to H2O2. Cell viability was detected by Cell Counting Kit 8 (CCK-8) assay, and cell apoptosis was analyzed by Annexin V-FITC/PI, Caspase 3 Activity Assay kits, and pro caspase 3 expression. ROS level was evaluated by the ROS probe DCFH-DA, mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm) assay, SOD1/2, CAT, and GPx expression. Autophagy was assessed using transmission electron microscopy, stubRFP-sensGFP-LC3 lentivirus, and autophagy-related protein expression. The autophagy/Keap1/Nrf2 signal in H2O2-treated BM-MSC/sh-Mst1 was also measured. Results Mst1 inhibition reduced ROS production; increased antioxidant enzyme SOD1/2, CAT, and GPx expression; maintained ΔΨm; and alleviated cell apoptosis in H2O2-treated BM-MSCs. In addition, this phenomenon was closely correlated with the autophagy/Keap1/Nrf2 signal pathway. Moreover, the antioxidant pathway Keap1/Nrf2 was also blocked when autophagy was inhibited by the autophagy inhibitor 3-MA. However, Keap1 or Nrf2 knockout via siRNA had no effect on autophagy activation or suppression. Conclusion Mst1 inhibition mediated the cytoprotective action of mBM-MSCs against H2O2-induced oxidative stress injury. The underlying mechanisms involve autophagy activation and the Keap1/Nrf2 signal pathway. Graphical abstract

Abstract Background The acute kidney injury (AKI) remains a frequent complication following open thoracic aortic surgery (OTAS) and worsens the postoperative prognosis. It remains unclear that whether the predictors of AKI following OTAS are different in the patients with or without acute aortic syndrome (AAS). Methods Preoperative and intraoperative variables were compared between the patients with or without AKI, and were further analyzed for identifying the potential predictors of postoperative AKI. Subgroup analysis was conducted in the patients with or without AAS, respectively. Results AKI after OTAS occurred in 57.6% of the overall cohort, 70.1% of the patients with AAS and 46.7% of the patients without AAS. There are significant differences between crude oil properties and enrichment horizon across the Gaoliu Fault in the Gaoshangpu area of the Nanpu Sag.Oils are mainly enriched in the third member of Shahejie Formation (Es3) to the north of the Gaoliu Fault, and are characterized by a high wax content.However, oils are mainly enriched in the Minghuazhen, Guantao and Dongying formations to the south of the Gaoliu Fault, and are normal crude oils with a low wax content. The biomarkers and compound specific isotopes of crude oils from different layers show that the origin of the high wax content oils in the Es3 is different from that of the oils to the south of the Gaoliu Fault. The former is derived from the source rocks of the Es34 and the latter is sourced from the third member of the Dongying Formation (Ed3) in the Linque Sub-Sag to the south of the Gaoliu Fault. The source rocks of the Es34 contain abundant terrigenous higher plants and lower hydrobionts, which provide the wax source. The microbe reformation, low thermal evolution degree and abnormal high pressure in the Es3 are key factors in the formation, migration and preservation of high wax oils.

Background: The post-operative acute kidney injury (AKI) represents a common complication in the Acute Debakey Type I Aortic Dissection (ADTIAD) and predicts a poorer prognosis. The clinical evidence is scarce supporting the predictive value of the pre-operative lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) in post-operative AKI in ADTIAD.Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, 190 consecutive patients with ADTIAD enrolled for surgical treatment between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2018. The diagnosis of AKI followed the Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes guidelines (KDIGO). Pre-operative LMR and other possible risk factors were analyzed for their prognostic value in the post-operative AKI in ADTIAD.Results: The subjects were assigned to the low-LMR and high-LMR groups according to the median value of pre-operative LMR. For post-operative AKI, the incidence and the severity in the low-LMR group were statistically different from that of the high-LMR group. Besides, the lower LMR was statistically associated with the more extended ICU stay and intubation time and higher incidences of ischemic stroke and in-hospital mortality. Additionally, in the multivariable analysis, the pre-operative LMR was an independent predictor for post-operative AKI in ADTIAD. A predictive model for post-operative AKI in ADTIAD was established incorporating LMR.Conclusions: LMR is an independent prognostic indicator incorporated into the predictive model with other risk factors to predict the post-operative AKI in ADTIAD.

It has been widely accepted that developmental dyslexia (DD) exhibits deficits in reading and spelling. However, the role of phonology and semantics in reading and spelling in dyslexia has not been systematically investigated. In Experiment 1, 45 Chinese children with DD and 43 age-matched controls read two tests with Chinese characters. One test controlled character's familiarity and regularity, and the other test controlled character's phonological consistency and semantic transparency. In Experiment 2, 43 Chinese children with DD and 41 controls spelled a sublist of characters in the two tests in Experiment 1. Our results support two main facts. Firstly, typically developing Chinese children can utilize more lexical or semantic information in reading characters when phonetic regularity or consistency in characters are absent, but Chinese children with DD cannot, indicating an impairment in the division of labor between phonology and semantics in reading in Chinese DD. Secondly, the division of labor between phonology and semantics in spelling have different patterns in Chinese DD compared with controls. Controls utilize semantics as a compensation for the absence of phonetic regularity or consistency when spelling characters, while children with DD do not, indicating an impairment in the division of labor between phonology and semantics in spelling in Chinese DD. The research supports the triangle model and provides empirical evidence for the division of labor between phonology and semantics in reading and spelling in Chinese children with and without reading disabilities.

Amino acid metabolism plays an important role in controlling blood pressure by regulating the production of NO and ROS. The present study examined amino acid levels in the serum of Dahl SS rats and SS.13BN rats fed a low or high salt diet. We observed that 8 of 27 amino acids responded to a high salt diet in SS rats. Thus, we hypothesized that a defect in amino acids may contribute to the development of salt-induced hypertension. L-phenylalanine was used to treat SS rats with a low or high salt diet. The results demonstrated that L-phenylalanine supplementation significantly enhanced the serum nitrite levels and attenuated the high salt-induced hypertension in SS rats. Low levels of BH4 and nitrite and the impaired vascular response to acetylcholine were rescued by L-phenylalanine supplementation. Moreover, increased GTP cyclohydrolase (GCH1) mRNA, levels of BH4 and nitrite, and reduced superoxide production were observed in the kidneys of hypertensive SS rats with L-phenylalanine. The antihypertensive effects of L-phenylalanine might be mediated by enhancing BH4 biosynthesis and decreasing superoxide production from NO synthase, thereby protecting vascular and kidney function with reduced ROS and elevated NO levels. The present study demonstrated that L-phenylalanine supplementation restored vascular function, suggesting L-phenylalanine represented a potential target to attenuate high salt-sensitive hypertension through GCH1-BH4.

Background/Aims: Previous studies have examined the associations between the single nucleotide polymorphism in the Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) gene and development of calcific aortic valve stenosis (CAVS). The association between functional SNP in 3’UTR of PON1 and the risk of CAVS, however, is unclear. In this study, we investigated the role of SNP in the regulation of PON1 expression via miR-616, as well as the association of SNP with the risk of CAVS. Methods: Two hundred and sixteen patients with CAVS and 243 CAVS-free participants were recruited in this study.They all obtained transthoracic echocardiogram and the ejection fraction (EF) and aortic valve area were recorded and analyzed. The PON1 expression were measured by western blot, Quantitative Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction were used to examine the transcriptional activity of miR-616 and PON1. Differences between CVAS patients and controls in terms of genotype frequency distribution and the estimates of Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were evaluated using chi-square tests. Logistic regression modeling was used to determine the association between the independent effect of rs3735590 SNP and the interaction between genotype, PON1 activity, and other covariates on lipids and CAVS risk. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS, version 17.0.1 for Windows (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL). A p value of < 0 .05 was considered significant for all analyses. Results: This study confirmed that PON1 is a validated target gene of miR-616 in liver cells. The relative quantification representing the expression of PON1 mRNA and the serum level of PON1 protein was decreased in the TT genotype. Abstract Background Aortic dissection (AD) represents a clinically uncommon aortic pathology which predicts a dismal prognosis if not promptly treated. In acute Debakey type I AD (ADIAD), aortic lesion extends from aortic root to even distal abdominal aorta among which aortic arch and its three main branches still remain a great surgical challenge for repair and reconstruction. Several decades have witnessed the painstaking efforts of cardiovascular surgeons across the globe for optimizing the surgical procedures, from total or hemi-arch replacement, “elephant trunk” technique to branched stent graft. However, operative mortality and morbidity still remain to be reduced and surgical strategy is to be advanced and simplified, particularly the repair and reconstruction of aortic arch and supra-aortic vessels. Methods In this paper, we reviewed the relevant literature concerning recent advances in surgical intervention of aortic arch and summarized our opinions in the application of branched stent graft in ADIAD. Results The operative strategy for acute Debakey type I aortic dissection still remain to be advanced and simplified, especially the repair and reconstruction of aortic arch and supra-aortic vessels. For selection of branched stent grafts, the anatomic features and pathological changes of diseased arch are the crucial factors for clinical decision making. Conclusions Branched stent graft is potentially an effective alternative for the treatment of type I AD with diseased aortic arch and supra-aortic vessels. The selection of branched stent grafts still remains to be further discussed in large-scale studies in the future.

Grassland tourism is a very popular leisure activity in many parts of the world. However, the presence of people in these areas causes disturbance to the local environment and grassland resources. This study analyzes the composition, diversity, and productivity under different levels of disturbance of the plant communities in the Kangxi Grassland Tourist Area and the Yeyahu Wetland Nature Reserve of Beijing, China. It aims to identify indicators of plant communities and their responses to different levels of disturbance. Our analysis shows that the plant community density and coverage have a certain compensatory increase under disturbed conditions. With the increase in disturbances, more drought-tolerant species have appeared (increased by 5.7%), some of which have become the grazing-tolerance indicator species in the trampled grazed area (TGA). For plant community productivity, biomass and height are good indicators for distinguishing different disturbances (p < 0.05). In addition, several diversity indices reveal the change of plant communities from different perspectives (three of the four indices were significant at the p < 0.05 level). For soil parameters, soil water content and organic matter concentration help to indicate different disturbance levels (the former has a 64% change). Moreover, the standard deviation of the plant community and soil parameters is also a good indicator of their spatial variability and disturbance levels, especially for the TGA. Our analysis confirms that the indicators of productivity, diversity, and soil parameters can indicate the disturbance level in each subarea from different perspectives. However, under disturbed conditions, a comprehensive analysis of these indicators is needed before we can accurately understand the state of health of the plant community.

Background/Aims: The kidney plays a critical role in the control of blood pressure and its elevation in salt-induced hypertension. Mitochondrial dysfunction, especially in energy metabolism, has been associated with hypertension. Here, we aimed to investigate mitochondrial function and metabolic features in renal mitochondria of Dahl salt-sensitive (SS) rats to gain further insight into the relationship between mitochondrial metabolism and predisposition to hypertension. Methods: In this study, SS rats fed low-salt (LS) or high-salt (HS) diets were used to investigate mitochondrial function and metabolism including mitochondrial enzyme activities, pyridine nucleotides, metabolites, and oxidative stress by biochemical analysis and gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC-MS). Results: Significantly lower activity levels of fumarase, isocitrate dehydrogenase and succinyl-CoA synthetase were observed in renal mitochondria of SS rats compared with SS.13BN control rats fed LS diets. Intra-mitochondrial pyridine nucleotide content and mitochondrial metabolism were adversely affected in SS rats. In accordance with this, reduced ATP production, Δψm, and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were also observed in mitochondria of the renal medulla and cortex of SS rats. Moreover, ATP production was further impaired and oxidative stress was increased, confirming that the mitochondria of SS rats fed HS diets were dysfunctional compared to those of rats fed LS diets. Conclusions: Our data demonstrated that the renal mitochondria of SS rats exhibited complicated metabolic alteration and dysfunction in low-salt diets, and high-salt diets aggravated these dysfunctions. Thus, these results may be associated with renal dysfunction, which, in turn, would help in understanding the development of salt-sensitive hypertension.

Abstract Background Aorto-left ventricular tunnel (ALVT) is a rare congenital extracardiac channel that connects the ascending aorta to the left ventricle. To our knowledge, no case has been thus far reported as ALVT with both anomalous origin of right coronary artery (AORCA) and bicuspid aortic valve (BAV). Case presentation We reported a case of a 5-year-old female diagnosed as ALVT with accompanying AORCA and BAV which had been previously misdiagnosed as aortic regurgitation (AR) triggered by BAV. Additionally, a special modality of ALVT was confirmed in this case during the surgery in which the tunnel was formed by the separation between the roots of two aortic leaflets during the diastolic period. Conclusions ALVT with both AORCA and BAV is clinically uncommon and the aberrant tunnel in ALVT can be formed by the gap between the roots of two aortic leaflets. Besides, ALVT with BAV might easily lead to an inaccurate diagnose as aortic regurgitation caused by BAV. Cardiac surgeons should be alerted for differential diagnosis of ALVT with BAV and isolated bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) causing aortic regurgitation (AR).

Knowledge bases are largely developed and utilized in academic and industrial fields, such as DBPedia, VIAF, LoC, Getty, and which are published in the Linked Data format. However, if you want to view different resources on these knowledge bases, you have to switch between different web pages from these resources. Therefore, we proposed a decentralized data hub named SinoPedia, which consists of several linked data services and can re-publish these RDF data in one platform. Firstly, these different Linked Data services include: Linked Data Transformation Service (LDTS), Linked Data Query Service (LDQS), Linked Data Publishing Service (LDPS) and Linked Data Knowledge Service (LDKS). The resource URI is the basis and core of the linked data, thus we will focus on the resource forwarding mechanism in LDPS service which can rewrite resource URI using a global and standard format among knowledge bases. Some knowledge bases were configured in SinoPedia platform in this paper. In addition to the above services, Linked Data Reasoning Service (LDRS) and Linked Data Intelligence Service (LDIS) will be added to the platform in the future. In short, all of these Linked Data Services will form the core framework in order to providing a good linked data application ecosystem.

A broadband generalized sidelobe canceler (Broadband-GSC) application for near-field beamforming is proposed. This approach is implemented in the wavelet domain. Broadband-GSC provides a set of complex, adapted apodization weights for each wavelet subband. The proposed method constrains interference and noise signal to improve the lateral resolution with only one single emission. Performance of the proposed beamforming is tested on simulated data obtained with Field II. Experiments have proved that the new beamforming can significantly increase the image quality compared with delay-and-sum (DAS) and synthetic aperture (SA). Imaging of scattering points show that Broadband-GSC improves the lateral resolution by 43.2% and 58.0% compared with SA and DAS, respectively. Meanwhile，Broadband-GSC reduces the peak sidelobe level by 11.6 dB and 26.4 dB compared with SA and DAS, respectively. Plane wave emission experiment indicates that Broadband-GSC can improve the lateral resolution by 44.2% compared with DAS. Furthermore, the new beamforming introduces the possibility for higher frame-rate and higher investigation depth with increased lateral resolution.

The current is 100 mA, 200 mA, 800 mA, through the force of dishing rotor’s border, it is the biggest place that was established a theoretical model in the flow fields. This is related in the comsol software simulation. At the same time for the dishing rotor sphere of heated, the highest temperature: X part of the border, Y, Z: Magnetic flux density norm (T) 384.3, 32.8, 224.4, 1.2 e-10, for the dishing rotor boundary, the minimum thermal stress field is in the X, Y, Z: Value117.6, 24.7, 24.7, 117.6 e-12.

Climate and human-induced wetland degradation has accelerated in recent years, not only resulting in reduced ecosystem services but also greatly affecting the composition and diversity of wetland plant communities. To date, the knowledge of the differences in community parameters and their successional trends in degraded wetlands remains scarce. Here based on remote sensing images, geographic information system technology, and statistical methods, we produced a successional gradient map of the Yeyahu Wetland Nature Reserve in Beijing, which has experienced a steady decline in water level in recent decades. In addition, we analyzed community composition and diversity along with each identified gradient. The results showed that community diversity decreases while dominance increases with the progress of succession, with the highest diversity occurring during the early stage of succession. Moreover, the community demonstrates greater similarity among subareas during later successional stages, and the similarity coefficients calculated from the important value (IV) of each species are more accurate. Correlation analysis showed that the impact of soil factors on diversity was not significant at a subarea scale, although these nutrients showed an increasing trend with the community succession. Furthermore, the IVs of the dominant species had a particularly significant impact on diversity, showing a significantly negative correlation with diversity indices and a significantly positive correlation with dominance indices. Further analysis showed that the retreat of water level resulted from sustained drought and local human activities was a major extrinsic driving force resulting in observed differences in the community successional stages, which resulted in differences in community composition and diversity. On the other hand, interspecific competition was the main intrinsic mechanism, which significantly influenced the IVs of the dominant species and community diversity. The results of this study could aid in improving the understanding of community composition, diversity, and its successional trends in degraded wetlands.

In remote sensing photogrammetric applications, inner orientation parameter (IOP) calibration of remote sensing camera is a prerequisite for determining image position. However, achieving such a calibration without temporal and spatial limitations remains a crucial but unresolved issue to date. The accuracy of IOP calibration methods of a remote sensing camera determines the performance of image positioning. In this paper, we propose a high-accuracy self-calibration method without temporal and spatial limitations for remote sensing cameras. Our method is based on an auto-collimating dichroic filter combined with a surface micromachining (SM) point-source focal plane. The proposed method can autonomously complete IOP calibration without the need of outside reference targets. The SM procedure is used to manufacture a light transceiver focal plane, which integrates with point sources, a splitter, and a complementary metal oxide semiconductor sensor. A dichroic filter is used to fabricate an auto-collimation light reflection element. The dichroic filter, splitter, and SM point-source focal plane are integrated into a camera to perform an integrated self-calibration. Experimental measurements confirm the effectiveness and convenience of the proposed method. Moreover, the method can achieve micrometer-level precision and can satisfactorily complete real-time calibration without temporal or spatial limitations.
