Abstract Laser-based light detection and ranging (LIDAR) offers a powerful tool to real-timely map spatial information with exceptional accuracy and owns various applications ranging from industrial manufacturing, and remote sensing, to airborne and in-vehicle missions. Over the past two decades, the rapid advancements of optical frequency combs have ushered in a new era for LIDAR, promoting measurement precision to quantum noise limited level. For comb LIDAR systems, to further improve the comprehensive performances and reconcile inherent conflicts between speed, accuracy, and ambiguity range, innovative demodulation strategies become crucial. Here we report a dispersive Fourier transform (DFT) based LIDAR method utilizing phase-locked Vernier dual soliton laser combs. We demonstrate that after in-line pulse stretching, the delay of the flying pulses can be identified via the DFT-based spectral interferometry instead of temporal interferometry or pulse reconstruction. This enables absolute distance measurements with precision starting from 262 nm in single shot, to 2.8 nm after averaging 1.5 ms, in a non-ambiguity range over 1.7 km. Furthermore, our DFT-based LIDAR method distinctly demonstrates an ability to completely eliminate dead zones. Such an integration of frequency-resolved ultrafast analysis and dual-comb ranging technology may pave a way for the design of future LIDAR systems.

This study investigated the impact of three different fertilization modes (traditional [FP1], one-time application of organic and inorganic fertilizer [FP2], and one-time application of inorganic fertilizer [OPT]) on the quality of japonica rice (O. sativa ssp. japonica) during storage under a rice–crab co-culture system. A field study was conducted, with rice samples collected every two months over a one-year storage period for quality analysis. The results showed that protein accumulated with increasing the amount of nitrogen fertilization, whereas amylose content and eating quality showed the opposite trend, further causing changes in rice quality during storage. After 12 months of storage, the FP2 group had the highest breakdown value (1972.50); its chalkiness degree (6.15), setback value (−788.5), and malondialdehyde content (2.03 μmol/g) were the lowest. These results indicated that FP2 treatment improved the appearance quality and starch pasting properties of rice. Additionally, the head milled rice rate improved in all fertilization treatment groups, while the eating quality scores in the FP1 and OPT groups, as well as the pH of rice soup in all fertilization treatment groups, decreased. Overall, the initial harvest of rice treated with FP2 boasted high quality and maintained superior appearance, eating, and nutritional qualities throughout storage. These findings show that FP2 may be an ideal fertilization mode under an ecological rice–crab co-culture system.

Abstract A twice‐input variable‐resolution single‐side switching scheme without reset energy is proposed for successive approximation register (SAR) analogue‐to‐digital converters (ADCs). The proposed switching scheme is based on semi‐resting DAC technology to design a four‐array architecture capable of handling twice the swing of the signal input while reducing the capacitor array size. The technique of top‐plate sampling and monotonic shift is utilized so that no switching energy is generated for the first three comparisons. The proposed scheme utilizes full‐capacitor split, bridged switch, and C‐2C dummy capacitor technology, which reduces average switching energy consumption by 99.8% compared to conventional schemes and enables ADC variable resolution function, making the SAR ADC more suitable for IoT applications.

The necrotrophic fungus, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, employs an array of cell wall-degrading enzymes (CWDEs), including cellulase, to dismantle host cell walls. However, the molecular mechanisms through which S. sclerotiorum degrades cellulose remain elusive. Here, we unveil a novel secretory cellobiohydrolase, SsdchA, characterized by a signal peptide and a Glyco_hydro_7 (GH7) domain. SsdchA exhibits a robust expression of during early infection stages. Interestingly, colony morphology and growth rates remain unaffected across the wild-type, SsdchA deletion strains and SsdchA overexpression strains on potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium. Nevertheless, the pathogenicity and cellobiohydrolase activity decreased in the SsdchA deletion strains, but enhanced in the SsdchA overexpression strains. Moreover, the heterologous expression of SsdchA in Arabidopsis thaliana leads to reduced cellulose content and heightened susceptibility to S. sclerotiorum. Collectively, our data underscore the pivotal role of the novel cellobiohydrolase SsdchA in the pathogenicity of S. sclerotiorum.

Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials, such as graphene, MoS2, and MAX, have attracted increasing research attention in recent years due to their unique structural and performance advantages. However, their complex production processes and equipment requirements are significant issues affecting their widespread use. Here, with an exfoliation strategy using three-roll milling, we present a simple, cost-effective, and extensible method to produce multilayer graphene, BN, MoS2, and Ti3AlC2 nanosheets. The roller and phenolic resin created three kinds of forces on the layered 2D materials, i.e., shear forces, compressive forces, and adhesive forces, which exfoliated layered materials from their edges and surfaces into nanosheets. Subsequently, the exfoliated materials were ultrasonically washed with alcohol, treated with ultrasonic vibration, and centrifuged to obtain 2D nanomaterials. The easy operation and high yield are attractive for research based on the construction of high-performance 2D nanosheet-based devices at low cost. Herein, the obtained multilayer graphene and MoS2 nanosheets were used as anode materials of sodium/potassium-ion batteries, respectively, to test their electrochemical properties. Better performances are obtained compared with their primary bulk materials.

Abstract In recent years, successive approximation register (SAR) analogue‐to‐digital converters (ADCs) have been widely applied in Internet of Things (IoT) sensor devices. To reduce the power consumption of ADCs, a bridged‐switch energy‐efficient switching scheme for SAR ADCs with a 2× input range is proposed. Due to the use of top‐plate sampling, overall shift and bridged switch, the energy consumption of the first three comparisons and reset is zero, meanwhile the energy consumption of the fifth comparison is greatly reduced. The proposed switching scheme has an average energy consumption of 13.084CVref2, which reduces the switching energy by 99.04% compared to the conventional switching scheme. The proposed switching scheme can achieve a 2× input range with the same supply voltage, effectively reducing ADC power consumption and making it more suitable for IoT applications.

With the increasingly severe problem of soil salinization worldwide, exploring the molecular mechanism of salt tolerance of super hybrid rice has become an important scientific issue. In this study, the super hybrid rice Chaoyou1000 was used as the focus of attention, and the conventional rice Huanghuazhan was used as the control to explore the molecular mechanism of salt tolerance in super hybrid rice. The joint analysis of transcriptome and metabolome found 4661 DEGs, of which 2130 were up-regulated and 2531 were down-regulated; 70 named differential metabolites were found in the positive ion mode, and 32 were found in the negative ion mode. KEGG enrichment analysis showed that the carbohydrate metabolism-related pathways enriched by DEGs and differential metabolites were “starch and sucrose metabolism”, “galactose metabolism”, “glyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism”, and “citrate cycle (TCA cycle)”. Specifically, we found that some critical genes involved in carbohydrate metabolism, such as LOC4330753, LOC4325448, and LOC4341069, were up-regulated; some key metabolites, such as cis-aconitate, sucrose, and raffinose, were up-regulated. The difference in the expressions of these critical genes and metabolites between the two varieties is one of the most important reasons for the high resistance of Chaoyou1000. In addition, this study found that a large number of DEGs had a strong correlation with D-pipecolic acid, niveusin C, Gly-Val Ala-Ile, 2-(3-hydroxyphenyl)ethanol 1′-glucoside, 2,6-dimethyl-7-octene-1,6-diol 8-O-glucoside, (+)-syringaresinol, 2-indanone, 2-keto-6-acetamidocaproate, 3-dehydroquinate, IRETOL, and estrone glucuronide, suggesting that these genes and corresponding metabolites may exist with functional associations and regulatory relationships. The results of this study will provide a reference for the breeding of salt-tolerant rice.

A 9-10-bit adjustable and energy-efficient switching scheme for SAR ADC with one-LSB common-mode voltage variation is proposed. Based on capacitor-splitting technology and common-mode conversion techniques, the proposed switching scheme reduces the DAC switching energy by 96.41% compared to the conventional scheme. The low complexity and the one-LSB common-mode voltage offset of this scheme benefit from the simultaneous switching of the reference voltages of the capacitors corresponding to the positive array and the negative array throughout the entire reference voltage switching process, and the reference voltage of each capacitor in the scheme does not change more than two voltages. The post-layout result shows that the ADC achieves the 54.96 dB SNDR, the 61.73 dB SFDR, and the 0.67 μw power consumption with the 10-bit mode and the 48.33 dB SNDR, the 54.17 dB SFDR, and the 0.47 μw power consumption with the 9-bit mode in a 180 nm process with a 100 kS/s sampling frequency.

The conversion of solar energy into hydrogen using photocatalysts is a pivotal solution to the ongoing energy and environmental challenges. In this study, inverse opal (IO) ZnIn2S4 (ZIS) with varying pore sizes is synthesized for the first time via a template method. The experimental results indicate that the constructed inverse opal ZnIn2S4 has a unique photonic bandgap, and its slow photon effect can enhance the interaction between light and matter, thereby improving the efficiency of light utilization. ZnIn2S4 with voids of 200 nm (ZIS–200) achieved the highest hydrogen production rate of 14.32 μ mol h−1. The normalized rate with a specific surface area is five times higher than that of the broken structures (B–ZIS), as the red edge of ZIS–200 is coupled with the intrinsic absorption edge of the ZIS. This study not only developed an approach for constructing inverse opal multi–metallic sulfides, but also provides a new strategy for enriching efficient ZnIn2S4–based photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution from water.

The first full demonstration of a high-efficiency phase-locking mechanism was accomplished in the millimeter-wave (mm wave) bands. Two modular Ka-band coaxial magnetrons were fabricated and phase-locked. The coaxial magnetron consisted of a conventional structure and a carefully designed coupling port that included an RF window. The coupling ports of two magnetrons were connected by coupling bridges to phase lock the coaxial magnetrons in zero-phase and π-phase difference mode, reaching phase-locking efficiencies of 93.4% and 95.6%, respectively. Two phase-locking modes were both verified by a mode detection system based on a symmetrical E-plane T-junction and a high bandwidth, high sample rate oscilloscope. Signals from the oscilloscope confirmed that phase-locking occurred after 25 ns and was reproducible from pulse to pulse. With higher power and more coaxial magnetrons in arrays, 1 MW may be achievable at Ka-band.

Although the internal electric field (IEF) of bismuth oxyiodide (BiOI) is acknowledged as a potent driving force for efficient charge separation, enhancing the intensity of IEF remains a challenge. Herein, highly crystalline BiOI nanosheets with I‐rich surface are employed to intensify IEF and direct the charge migration. In comparison to I‐poor BiOI nanosheets, which possess Bi−O layer termination and I‐defects, the I‐rich BiOI demonstrates 62.5‐fold improvement in IEF intensity to its well‐developed high crystalline structure, and its IEF direction is reversed by the surface I‐rich layers. This intensified IEF of I‐rich BiOI induces numerous holes (h+) to migrate to the surface of primary exposed (001) facets and electrons (e−) to the lateral facets efficiently, resulting in efficient charge separation spatially. Additionally, the surface accumulates h+ and superoxide radicals and acts in synergy to enhance the photodegradation of phenol. The photocatalytic activity of the I‐rich BiOI is found to be approximately fivefold and threefold higher than that of I‐poor BiOI under full spectra and visible light, respectively. Herein, the manipulation of IEF through surface and bulk structure regulation of BiOI for efficient charge separation is discussed, expecting to rationally improve photocatalytic performances.

We present an interesting approach named as pumping ionizing gating (PIG) for the generation of isolated attosecond pulses (IAPs). In this regime, a short laser is used to ionize a preexisting gas grating, creating a fast-extending plasma grating (FEPG) having an ionization front propagating with the velocity of light. A low-intensity long counterpropagating pump pulse is then reflected by a very narrow region of the ionization front, only where the Bragg conditions for resonant reflection is satisfied. Consequently, the pump reflection is confined within a subcycle region called PIG, and forms a wide-band coherent IAP in combination with the frequency up-conversion effect due to the plasma gradient. This approach results in a new scheme to generate IAPs from long picosecond pump pulses. Three-dimensional (3D) simulations show that a 1.6 ps, 1 µm pump pulse can be used to generate a 330 as laser pulse with a peak intensity approximately 33 times that of the pump and a conversion efficiency of around 0.1%. These results highlight the potential of the PIG method for generating IAPs with high conversion efficiency and peak intensity.

A low-power SAR ADC with capacitor-splitting energy-efficient switching scheme is proposed for wearable biosensor applications. Based on capacitor-splitting, additional reference voltage Vcm, and common-mode techniques, the proposed switching scheme achieves 93.76% less switching energy compared to the conventional scheme with common-mode voltage shift in one LSB. With the switching scheme, the proposed SAR ADC can lower the dependency on the accuracy of Vcm and the complexity of digital control logic and DAC driver circuits. Furthermore, the SAR ADC employs low-noise and low-power dynamic comparators utilizing multi-clock control, low sampling error sampling switches based on the bootstrap technique, and dynamic SAR logic. The simulation results demonstrate that the ADC achieves a 61.77 dB SNDR and a 78.06 dB SFDR and consumes 4.45 μW of power in a 180 nm process with a 1 V power supply, a full-swing input signal frequency of 93.33 kHz, and a sampling rate of 200 kS/s.

A hybrid energy-efficient, area-efficient, low-complexity switching scheme in SAR ADC for biosensor applications is proposed. This scheme is a combination of the monotonic technique, the MSB capacitor-splitting technique, and a new switching method. The MSB capacitor-splitting technique, as well as the reference voltage Vaq allow for more options for reference voltage conversion, resulting in higher area savings and higher energy efficiency. In a capacitor array, the circuit performs unilateral switching during all comparisons except for the second and last two comparisons, reducing the difficulty in designing the drive circuit. The proposed switching scheme saves 98.4% of the switching energy and reduces the number of unit capacitors by 87.5% compared to a conventional scheme. Furthermore, the SAR ADC employs low-noise and low-power dynamic comparators utilizing multi-clock control, low-sampling error-sampling switches based on the bootstrap technique, and dynamic SAR logic. The simulation results demonstrated that the proposed SAR ADC achieves 61.51 dB SNDR, 79.21 dB SFDR and consumes 0.278 μW of power in a 180 nm process with a 1 V power supply, a full swing input signal frequency of 23.33 kHz, and a sampling rate of 100 kS/s.

In recent years, due to the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT), various sensors have come to be in great demand for IoT devices. Analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) act as an important part of receivers in sensors. To improve the uptime of IoT devices, a bridged-switch energy-efficient switching scheme for successive approximation register (SAR) ADCs with a low-complexity capacitor drive circuit is proposed. The technique of top-plate sampling and closed-loop charge recycling is used in the proposed switching scheme so that neither the first nor the second comparison consumes switching energy. The third comparison uses bridge switches to connect the subarray to the main array, effectively reducing switching’s energy consumption. Only the least significant bit (LSB) is dependent on the accuracy of Vcm; thus, the last comparison consumes little switching energy. The proposed switching scheme achieves an average switching energy value of 47.5 CV2ref, which is 96.52% lower than that of the conventional capacitor switching scheme and reduces the area by 75%. The other major circuit modules employed are bootstrapped switches, a fully dynamic comparator, and dynamic SAR logic. The proposed ADC was simulated under the conditions of 180 nm CMOS process and 1 MS/s, resulting in a 9.8-bit effective number of bits (ENOB), a signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SNDR) of 60.76 dB, a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of 69.85 dB, a power consumption of 14.7 μW, and a figure of merit (FoM) of 16.55 fJ/conv.-step.

Nano-photonic devices based on 2D materials offer a potential solution for the miniaturization of optical computing technologies. Here, the authors demonstrate the implementation of high-speed logic operations via the all-optical generation and electrical control of multiple plasmon polaritons in a hybrid graphene device.

Purpose – This paper aims to address the longitudinal control problem for person-following robots (PFRs) for the implementation of this technology. Design/methodology/approach – Nine representative car-following models are analyzed from PFRs application and the linear model and optimal velocity model/full velocity difference model are qualified and selected in the PFR control. Findings – A lab PFR with the bar-laser-perception device is developed and tested in the field, and the results indicate that the proposed models perform well in normal person-following scenarios. Originality/value – This study fills a gap in the research on PRFs longitudinal control and provides a useful and practical reference on PFRs longitudinal control for the related research.

Ultraintense short-period infrared laser pulses play an important role in frontier scientific research, but their power is quite low when generated using current technology. This paper demonstrates a scheme for generating an ultraintense few-cycle infrared pulse by directly compressing a long infrared pulse. In this scheme, an infrared picosecond-to-nanosecond laser pulse counterpropagates with a rapidly extending plasma grating that is created by ionizing an undulated gas by a short laser pulse, and the infrared laser pulse is reflected by the rapidly extending plasma grating. Because of the high expansion velocity of the latter, the infrared laser pulse is compressed in the reflection process. One- and two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations show that by this method, a pulse with a duration of tens of picoseconds in the mid- to far-infrared range can be compressed to a few cycles with an efficiency exceeding 60%, thereby making ultraintense few-cycle infrared pulses possible.

PurposeThe present study aims to identify factors related to anastomotic leakage before esophagectomy and to construct a prediction model.MethodsA retrospective analysis of 285 patients who underwent minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE). An absolute shrinkage and selection operator was applied to screen the variables, and predictive models were developed using binary logistic regression.ResultsA total of 28 variables were collected in this study. LASSO regression analysis, combined with previous literature and clinical experience, finally screened out four variables, including aortic calcification, heart disease, BMI, and FEV1. A binary logistic regression was conducted on the four predictors, and a prediction model was established. The prediction model showed good discrimination and calibration, with a C-statistic of 0.67 (95% CI, 0.593–0.743), a calibration curve fitting a 45° slope, and a Brier score of 0.179. The DCA demonstrated that the prediction nomogram was clinically useful. In the internal validation, the C-statistic still reaches 0.66, and the calibration curve has a good effect.ConclusionsWhen patients have aortic calcification, heart disease, obesity, and a low FEV1, the risk of anastomotic leakage is higher, and relevant surgical techniques can be used to prevent it. Therefore, the clinical prediction model is a practical tool to guide surgeons in the primary prevention of anastomotic leakage.

A method is proposed for compressing laser pulses by fast-extending plasma gratings (FEPGs), which are created by ionizing a hypersonic wave generated by stimulated Brillouin scattering in a background gas. Ionized by a short laser pulse, the phonon forms a light-velocity FEPG to fully reflect a resonant pump laser. As the reflecting surface moves with the velocity of light, the reflected pulse is temporally overlapped and compressed. One- and two-dimensional fully kinetic particle-in-cell simulations with a laser wavelength of 1 µm show that in this regime, a pump pulse is compressed from 10–40 ps to 7–10 fs (i.e., a few optical cycles), with a two-dimensional transfer efficiency up to 60%. This method is a promising way to produce critical laser powers while avoiding several significant problems that arise in plasma-based compressors, including an unwanted linear stage, major plasma instabilities, and the need for seed preparation.

Pitaya is an important fresh-cut product in the global fruit market. The health benefits of fresh-cut red pitaya fruit are attributed to its unique phenolic content and other antioxidants, but the fruit is highly susceptible to spoilage which causes a decline in nutritional quality. In this study, we monitored changes in quality and phenolic compounds of pitaya fruit treated with gaseous ozone during storage at 8 ± 2°C for 4 days. Compared with the control group, ozone treatment was an effective strategy for preserving quality by controlling the growth of microorganisms, preventing weight loss and softening, and improving the content of soluble solids and titratable acids. The results showed that ozone induced the accumulation of phenolic compounds while maintaining the quality. The content of phenolic compounds in fresh-cut pitaya was positively correlated with antioxidant activity. Ultra-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray tandem mass spectrometry was used to fingerprint the phenolic metabolites and metabolomic analysis identified 26 phenolic compounds. The majority of these were phenylpropanoids, and the key metabolic pathways were phenylpropane metabolism and flavonoid synthesis. This study illustrated the mechanism by which of ozone prolongs the shelf life of fresh-cut pitaya fruit and validated ozone as a valuable phenolic inducer and regulator of antioxidant activity, positively influencing the potential health benefits of fresh-cut products.

Abstract An ultrathin porous triphenylamine–perylene diimide (PDI) polymer photocatalyst with photooxidative ability was prepared. Triphenylamine–PDI oxidizes 1,2,3,4‐tetrahydroisoquinoline to 3,4‐dihydroisoquinoline with a yield of 84% and selectivity of 92% under the following conditions: room temperature, ambient air, aqueous solution and 420 nm irradiation. The yield was 62% higher than that of mesoporous g‐C3N4 and 72% higher than that of self‐assembled PDI. The high yield and enhanced catalytic activity of the triphenylamine–PDI were attributed to the introduction of the electron‐donating triphenylamine motif into PDI, thereby forming a donor–acceptor structure, which greatly promotes the separation of photogenerated charges. In addition, the triphenylamine–PDI with high crystallinity of was conducive to fast charge transport. Triphenylamine–PDI was also applicable to other N‐heterocyclic substrates. Moreover, using aqueous media and air as oxidant are consistent with green chemistry, and the photocatalyst can be recycled after the reaction.

Abstract. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can be caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, and has led to millions of deaths among more than 100 million infected people around the world according to the declaration from World Health Organization. Dysregulated immune response of both the innate and adaptive immune systems is subsistent on COVID-19 patients, of which the degree are associated with disease severity, lung damage and long term functional disability. Current treatment options have included antiretroviral drugs, anti-inflammatory factors, antibodies, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and convalescent plasma therapy. More recently, mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy has been explored for the management and control of COVID-19, particularly with the aim of preventing or at least mitigating respiratory co-morbidities. Though the safety and efficacy of stem cell therapy have been validated in multiple phase I–III clinical trials, to date, no standardized stem cell preparation, administration dosage or interval, product QA/QC testing, storage, transportation, or disposal protocols have been established. The present paper proposes a systematic methodology that addresses all the foregoing process steps and evaluation criteria for the efficacious and safe administration of MSCs in the treatment of patients infected with COVID-19.

Background: Uveal melanoma (UVM) is a rare cancer that shows sex difference in incidence and survival, with little previous report for the underlying mechanism. Methods: This study used the SEER data (1974–2016) for an age-dependent analysis on sex difference in UVM, and further used the TCGA-UVM genomics dataset for analyzing the differential gene expression profiles in tumors from men and women. Results: Our results demonstrate a sex difference in older age (≥40 years) but not in younger patients, with men exhibiting a higher incidence rate than women. However, younger women have shown a continuous increasing trend since 1974. Examining the 11 major oncogenes and tumor suppressors in UVM revealed that EIF1AX showed a significant sex difference in mRNA accumulation and copy number variation, with female tumors expressing higher levels of EIF1AX and exhibiting more variations in copy numbers. EIF1AX mRNA levels were significantly inversely correlated with EIF1AX copy numbers in female tumors only, but not in male tumors. Differential gene expression analysis at the whole genomic level identified a set of 92 protein-coding and 16 RNA-coding genes which exhibited differential expression in men and women (fold of change cutoff at 1.7, adjusted p value < 0.05, FDR < 0.05). Network analysis showed significant difference in immune response and in disulfide bond formation, with EGR1/EGR2 and PDIA2 genes as regulators for immune response and disulfide bond formation, respectively. The melanocortin pathway which is linked to both melanin synthesis and obesity seems to be altered with unclear significance, as the sex difference in POMC, DCT/TYRP2, and MRAP2 was observed but with no clear direction. Conclusion: This study reveals possible mechanisms for the sex difference in tumorigenesis of UVM which has potentials for better understanding and prevention of UVM.

Abstract This letter proposes a current bias circuit that improves the thermal stability of the 5G power amplifier (PA) in the GaAs HBT process. A diode and resistor scheme combined with a diode‐connected HBTs scheme are employed to generate temperature‐related voltages of which the temperature coefficients (TC) are inversely proportional to the sizes of devices. Those multi‐TC voltages are able to compensate for the equal‐but‐opposite TC of HBTs in the current mirrors so as to generate different zero‐to‐absolute‐temperature (ZTAT) currents at the same time. The experimental results show that the TC of the proposed bias circuit has 4% error for a 5.5 V supply from –5 to 95°C. Compared with the traditional bias circuit, the variation of output power of the proposed bias circuit is reduced from 11% to 8% and the variation of PAE is reduced from 7% to 5%. The proposed bias circuit, which has no requirement for matching, can perform effective temperature compensation for PAs in the single‐transistor GaAs HBT process.

This article proposes a voltage-to-frequency converter (VFC) design using unipolar metal-oxide thin film transistor (TFT) technology. The proposed VFC has an integrator and Schmitt trigger based structure. This structure has the advantages of constant power consumption, full-swing output, and low circuit complexity compared to the early designs. To verify the proposed design, SmartSpice simulation based on a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) model whose parameters are turned to fix the measured characteristics of our indium tin oxide- (ITO-) stabilized ZnO TFTs is carried out. The ITO-stabilized ZnO TFT has a single-gate staggered structure. Its typical field-effect mobility, threshold voltage, on/off current ratio, and subthreshold-slope are 14.5 cm2/Vs, 0.5 V, $1.2{\mathrm {\times }} 10^{8}$ , and 77 mV/decade, respectively. Simulation results show that the proposed VFC has maximum linearity error less than 1.8%, tuning sensitivity about 1 kHz/V, and power consumption less than $130~{\mu }\text{W}$ even under device variations. These performances are competitive compared to the state-of-the-arts. When configured to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), 6 bit resolution and 14 S/s sampling rate can be realized. These results indicate that the VFC can find potential applications in flexible large-area low-voltage sensor interfaces for quasi-static signals.

The digital twin can reconstruct the scenes of real traffic operation of inland waterways in virtual space, giving birth to new ideas for the digital transformation and upgrading of water safety management. Aiming at the problems of video fragmentation, sub-system data separation and untimely emergency response in the current inland waterway safety monitoring, this paper proposes a new method for reconstructing and applying a digital twin of inland waterways based on 3D video fusion which consists of four parts: (1) Combining drone tilt photography and BIM modeling technology to construct a three-dimensional scene model of inland waterways; (2) Proposing a multi-channel video three-dimensional registration and rendering method to integrate in real time discrete surveillance videos of different angles of view with three-dimensional scene model to establish the spatial correlation between different video images in the scene; (3) Integrating multi-source IoT sensing data to form a scene of digital twin of inland waterways; (4) Exploring innovative application methods for water safety management based on digital twins to meet the water safety management requirements and business logic of inland waterways. A certain segment of the Changhu Shen Line was selected for demonstration and application. The application results show that the construction and application of digital twins for inland waterways combined with 3D video reduces the pressure on managers to understand real-time video footage and improves the efficiency of daily monitoring, evidence collection, and emergency response.

Abstract This letter proposes a unipolar thin‐film transistor (TFT)‐based amplifier design that can provide enhanced DC offset suppression. The amplifier consists of an input AC coupling network and a capacitor bootstrap amplifier. By making the first pole of the input AC‐coupling network coincide with that of the capacitor bootstrap amplifier, a DC offset suppression capability of 40 dB/dec, which is 2× higher than that of the prior arts, can be obtained. An implementation is also proposed and a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) TFT model whose parameters are turned to fit the measured data of our metal‐oxide TFT is used to simulate the circuit. Simulation results show that the implementation has 31 dB midband gain, 0.5 Hz–5 kHz bandwidth, 300 μW power consumptions, and the expected 40 dB/dec DC offset suppression. This design is suitable for applications that need to block large DC interference, such as sensor readout amplifiers.

Abstract 3D hosts are promising to extend the cycle life of lithium metal anodes but have rarely been implemented with lean electrolytes thus impacting the practical cell energy density. To overcome this challenge, a 3D host that is lightweight and easy to fabricate with optimum pore size that enables full utilization of its pore volume, essential for lean electrolyte operations, is reported. The host is fabricated by casting a VGCF (vapor‐grown carbon fiber)‐based slurry loaded with a sparingly soluble rubidium nitrate salt as an additive. The network of fibers generates uniform pores of ≈3 µm in diameter with a porosity of 80%, while the nitrate additive enhances lithiophilicity. This 3D host delivers an average coulombic efficiency of 99.36% at 1 mA cm−2 and 1 mAh cm−2 for over 860 cycles in half‐cell tests. Full cells containing an anode with 1.35‐fold excess lithium paired with LiNi0.8Mn0.1Co0.1O2 (NMC811) cathodes exhibit capacity retention of 80% over 176 cycles at C/2 under a lean electrolyte condition of 3 g Ah−1. This work provides a facile and scalable method to advance 3D lithium hosts closer to practical lithium‐metal batteries.

Abstract Background China carried out a comprehensive drug price reform (CDPR) in 2017 to control the growing expense of drug effectively and reduce the financial burden of inpatients. However, early studies in pilot regions found the heterogeneity in the effectiveness of CDPR from different regions and other negative effects. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the reform on medical expenses, medical service utilisation and government financial reimbursement for inpatients in economically weaker regions. Methods Shihezi was selected as the sample city, and 238,620 inpatients, who were covered by basic medical insurance (BMI) and had complete information from September 2016 to August 2018 in public hospitals, were extracted by cluster sampling. An interrupted series design was used to compare the changing trends in medical expenses, medical service utilisation and reimbursement of BMI for inpatients before and after the reform. The more sensory channels are equipped in a virtual assembly system, the more real users feel in the whole system, however, most of the existing virtual assembly systems are based on the natural interaction method of one or two sensory channels. Thus, this paper proposes a novel virtual assembly system integrating multi-sensory channels, including gesture interaction, Chinese speech interaction, tactile interaction, 3D display and real-time display of real environment pictures in the virtual environment. To improve the operability of the virtual environment, we analyze the parallel virtual assembly sequence on the basis of two-hand interaction, and the assembly priority is prompted based on UI interface. For ease of operation, we present a method of viewpoint control based on gesture interaction and the coordinate threshold of spatial position. A hierarchical bounding box collision detection algorithm based on volume difference is proposed to improve the efficiency of collision feedback and collision avoidance. In addition, the power equipment models are exhibited in the virtual scene, as the exhibits of the virtual roaming process. Finally, to evaluate the training effect of this system, a comparative experiment is designed to compare the participants' experience and the effect of assembly training. The experimental results show that the virtual assembly system of natural interaction with multi-sensory channels is flexible and immersive.

Abstract Background Casticin, an isoflavone compound extracted from the herb Fructus Viticis, has demonstrated anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities and properties. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects and mechanisms of casticin in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells and to determine its potential for targeted use as a medicine. Methods NPC cells were used to perform the experiments. The CCK‑8 assay and colony formation assays were used to assess cell viability. Flow cytometry was used to measure the cell cycle and apoptosis analysis (annexin V/PI assay). A three-dimensional (3D) tumour sphere culture system was used to characterize the effect of casticin on NPC stem cells. In silico molecular docking prediction and high-throughput KINOME scan assays were used to evaluate the binding of casticin to phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), including wild-type and most of mutants variants. We also used the SelectScreen assay to detect the IC50 of ATP activity in the active site of the target kinase. Western blotting was used to evaluate the changes in key proteins involved cell cycle, apoptosis, stemness, and PI3K/protein kinase B (AKT) signalling. The effect of casticin treatment in vivo was determined by using a xenograft mouse model. Results Our results indicate that casticin is a new and novel selective PI3K inhibitor that can significantly inhibit NPC proliferation and that it induces G2/GM arrest and apoptosis by upregulating Bax/BCL2 expression. Moreover, casticin was observed to affect the self-renewal ability of the nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell lines, and a combination of casticin with BYL719 was observed to induce a decrease in the level of the phosphorylation of mTORC1 downstream targets in BYL719-insensitive NPC cell lines. Conclusion Casticin is a newly emerging selective PI3K inhibitor with potential for use as a targeted therapeutic treatment for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Accordingly, casticin might represent a novel and effective agent against NPC and likely has high potential for combined use with pharmacological agents targeting PI3K/AKT.

This work outperforms the previous literatures by proposing a delay-cell-controlled voltage control oscillator (VCO) design for common unipolar, single-gate, and enhancement-mode thin-film transistor (TFT) technologies. A design example with InZnO TFTs is simulated to verify the proposed design. The design example has a 500 μW power consumption, 0.7 mm2 area, 3.8 kHz–8 kHz output frequency range, 600 Hz/V tuning sensitivity, and 4% maximum linear error. This design may have the potential to be used for flexible, low cost, and moderate speed sensor readout interfaces.

This paper presents a 10-bit successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter with energy-efficient low-complexity switching scheme, automatic ON/OFF comparator and automatic ON/OFF SAR logic for biomedical applications. The energy-efficient switching scheme achieves an average digital-to-analog converter switching energy of 63.56 CVref2, achieving a reduction of 95.34% compared with the conventional capacitor switching scheme for CDACs. With the switching scheme, the ADC can lower the dependency on the accuracy of Vcm and complexity of DAC control logic and DAC driver circuit. Moreover, dynamic circuits and automatic ON/OFF technology are used to reduce power consumption of comparator and SAR logic. The prototype is designed and fabricated in a 180 nm CMOS with a core size of 500 μm × 300 μm (0.15 mm2). It consumes 7.6 nW at 1 kS/s sampling rate and 1.8-V supply with an achieved signal-to-noise-and distortion ratio of 45.90 dB and a resulting figure of merit of 51.7 fJ/conv.-step.

A DAC switching scheme that combines energy efficiency and resolution reconfigurability is proposed. Compared with the conventional switching scheme, the proposed scheme achieves 93.8%, 96.1%, and 97.3% switching energy saving in 8-bit, 9-bit, and 10-bit modes, respectively. Based on the proposed switching scheme, an 8–10-bit resolution-reconfigurable SAR ADC for biosensor applications is designed. The ADC consists of resolution-reconfigurable binary-weighted capacitive DAC, a two-stage full dynamic comparator, sampling switch, and the resolution-control SAR logic. Simulated in 180 nm CMOS process and 100 kS/s sampling rate, the ADC achieves the 46.80/53.89/60.14 dB signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SNDR), the 55.22/62.51/73.09 dB spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) and the 0.81/0.91/1.01 μW power consumption in 8/9/10-bit mode, respectively.

ABSTRACT The enhancement of rice production numbers can be achieved by using quality rice cultivars and fertilizers. The double rice cropping model has given rise to an important rice production system in southern China. Exploring the possibility of whether hybrid vigor could make a substantial contribution to early and late season rice production, and how the heterosis expression of hybrid rice functions under different levels of fertilizer application is of great significance. The objective of this study was to evaluate the grain yield and associated plant traits of popular hybrid and inbred rice varieties with large–scale promotion under conditions of customary (high) and combined (low) fertilization in the early and late seasons of 2017–18 in Changsha County, Hunan Province, China. We found that hybrid rice varieties displayed their respective advantages in the early and late rice seasons, but the advantages in their relative yield traits varied. The leading advantages of early season rice were effective panicle number per hill (EPN), 1000–grain weight (KGW), harvest index (HI), yield, and nitrogen use efficiency (NUE), whereas in late season rice, the foremost advantages were grain number per panicle (GNP), HI, yield, and NUE. The EPN was the prime advantage of early season hybrid rice with a short growth period, and the GNP was the main advantage of late season hybrid rice with a long growth period. Notably, the main yield advantage of hybrid rice was stronger under combined (low) fertilization than under customary (high) fertilization. Hence, high yield can be achieved by selecting the best hybrid rice varieties supported by combined fertilization (lower fertilizer use with higher efficiency).

Abstract For an economical use of solar energy, photocatalysts that are sufficiently efficient, stable, and capable of harvesting light are required. Composite heterostructures composed of noble metals and semiconductors exhibited the excellent in catalytic application. Here, 1D Ag/Au/AgCl hollow heterostructures are synthesized by galvanic replacement reaction (GRR) from Ag nanowires (NWs). The catalytic properties of these as-obtained Ag/Au/AgCl hollow heterostructures with different ratios are investigated by reducing 4-nitrophenol (Nip) into 4-aminophenol (Amp) in the presence of NaBH4, and the influence of AgCl semiconductor to the catalytic performances of Ag/Au bimetals is also investigated. These hollow heterostructures show the higher catalytic properties than pure Ag NWs, and the AgCl not only act as supporting materials, but the excess AgCl is also the obstacle for contact of Ag/Au bimetals with reactive species. Moreover, the photocatalytic performances of these hollow heterostructures are carried out by degradation of acid orange 7 (AO7) under UV and visible light. These Ag/Au/AgCl hollow heterostructures present the higher photocatalytic activities than pure Ag NWs and commercial TiO2 (P25), and the Ag/Au bimetals enhance the photocatalytic activity of AgCl semiconductor via the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) and plasmon resonance energy transfer (PRET) mechanisms. The as-synthesized 1D Ag/Au/AgCl hollow heterostructures with multifunction could apply in practical environmental remedy by catalytic manners. Graphical abstract

Previous studies have clarified that there are certain regularities in the spatial organization of traditional Chinese rural market towns as viewed from the perspective of the economic geography and local society. Nevertheless, the results of some studies concerning distribution patterns and factors influencing these patterns are contradictory, and there are few comprehensive analyses of the influence of interconnected variables. Taishan County in the Pearl River Delta of Guangdong Province is used as an example, and the results of the identification of the distribution pattern of market towns within this county are determined as clustered by using the Voronoi method and the calculated coefficients of variation (Cv). The correlation between the market towns and the physical and social environment is quantified and illustrated through Geographic Information Systems (GIS), logistic regression analysis, and graphic methods, and the application of nuclear density change rates clarifies the development trajectory, which explains the phenomenon of market town clustering with ecological and cultural significance. Overall, the results indicate traditional preferences for sites characterized by low elevation, little slope, proximity to water, and productive agricultural land, while at the local scale, the spatial–temporal arrangement of market towns reflects partitioning and interactions between distinct clans. Further integrating the perspective of environmental history, we propose that the structural relationships of natural ecology, subsistence mode, and social organization crucially constitute the site selection and layout logic of market towns.

Automated detection of road damage (ADRD) is a challenging topic in road maintenance. It focuses on automatically detecting road damage and assessing severity by deep learning. Because of the sparse distribution of characteristic pixels, it is more challenging than object detection. Although some public datasets provide a database for the development of ADRD, their amounts of data and the standard of classification cannot meet network training and feature learning. With the aim of solving this problem, this work publishes a new road damage dataset named CNRDD, which is labeled according to the latest evaluation standard for highway technical conditions in China (JTG5210-2018). The dataset is collected by professional onboard cameras and is manually labeled in eight categories with three different degrees (mild, moderate and severe), which can effectively help promote research of automated detection of road damage. At the same time, a novel baseline with attention fusion and normalization is proposed to evaluate and analyze the published dataset. It explicitly leverages edge detection cues to guide attention for salient regions and suppresses the weights of non-salient features by attention normalization, which can alleviate the interference of sparse pixel distribution on damage detection. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed baseline significantly outperforms most existing methods on the existing RDD2020 dataset and the newly released CNRDD dataset. Further, the CNRDD dataset is proved more robust, as its high damage density and professional classification are more conducive to promote the development of ADRD.

Abstract As the most frequent wound complication, infection has become a major clinical challenge in wound management. To overcome the “Black Box” status of the wound‐healing process, next‐generation wound dressings with the abilities of real‐time monitoring, diagnosis during early stages, and on‐demand therapy has attracted considerable attention. Here, by combining the emerging development of bioelectronics, a smart flexible electronics‐integrated wound dressing with a double‐layer structure, the upper layer of which is polydimethylsiloxane‐encapsulated flexible electronics integrated with a temperature sensor and ultraviolet (UV) light‐emitting diodes, and the lower layer of which is a UV‐responsive antibacterial hydrogel, is designed. This dressing is expected to provide early infection diagnosis via real‐time wound‐temperature monitoring by the integrated sensor and on‐demand infection treatment by the release of antibiotics from the hydrogel by in situ UV irradiation. The integrated system possesses good flexibility, excellent compatibility, and high monitoring sensitivity and durability. Animal experiment results demonstrate that the integrated system is capable of monitoring wound status in real time, detecting bacterial infection and providing effective treatment on the basis of need. This proof‐of‐concept research holds great promise in developing new strategies to significantly improve wound management and other pathological diagnoses and treatments.

Background. Clinical trials are at the cornerstone of evidence-based stem cell therapies, but the quality assessment for designing and conduct these sometimes-complex studies are scarce of evidence. This study is aimed at developing a handy quality assessment tool for stem cell clinical trials, enhancing capacity of the self-regulate overall quality, and participating protection. Methods. The framework of quality assessment tool was based on the PQRS (progress-quality-regulation-scientific) quality assessment tool, and detailed quality indicators were developed by leader group discussion, expert consulting, and literature review. Stem cell clinical trials were retrieved from the International Clinical Trials Registry Platform, and corresponding quality indicators were assessed and extracted. The validity and feasibility of conceptual quality assessment tool were further evaluated by using structural equation modeling. Results. The quality assessment tool for stem cell clinical trials contains four critical quality attributes, including participant protection, scientific value, quality control, and stem cell products, and 9 observed quality indicators. From 11 primary clinical trial registries in the International Clinical Trials Registry Platform, 9410 stem cell trial registrations were identified, and 1036 studies were eligible for publications and protocols screening. After reviewed full text, 37 studies were included in the validity and feasibility evaluation: 32 studies were completed, and 3 studies terminated early. Most of the studies (83.79%) were in the early phase, and 63.16% of the studies were investigator-initiated trial. To further tested for validity, the critical quality attributes and quality indicators (QIs) between expertise further validated by the SEM method, which showed a good fit for the model (chi−square=26.008; P=0.353; TLI=0.967; CFI=0.978; RMSEA=0.048). Compared with exploratory trials, evaluating using the quality assessment tool, confirmatory trials performed similarly in participant protection, scientific value, and quality control, but lower in stem cell products. Conclusions. The results of critical quality attributes and quality indicators between expertise and confirmatory validation analysis are basically consistent, indicating the feasibility and validity of applying this quality assessment tool for overall quality evaluation of stem cell trials.

This paper examines a new technique to improve the figure of merit of laterally vibrating RF-MEMS resonators through an energy-preserving suspended addendum frame structure using finite element analysis. The proposed suspended addendum frame on the sides of the resonant plate helps as a mechanical vibration isolator from the supporting substrate. This enables the resonator to have a low acoustic energy loss, resulting in a higher quality factor. The simulated attenuation characteristics of the suspended addendum frame are up to an order of magnitude larger than those achieved with the conventional structure. Even though the deployed technique does not have a significant impact on increasing the effective electromechanical coupling coefficient, due to a gigantic improvement in the unloaded quality factor, from 4106 to 51,136, the resonator with the suspended frame achieved an 11-folds improvement in the figure of merit compared to that of the conventional resonator. Moreover, the insertion loss was improved from 5 dB down to a value as low as 0.7 dB. Furthermore, a method of suppressing spurious mode is demonstrated to remove the one incurred by the reflected waves due to the proposed energy-preserving structure.

Abstract Background Exploiting soil microorganisms in the rhizosphere of plants can significantly improve agricultural productivity; however, the mechanism by which microorganisms specifically affect agricultural productivity is poorly understood. To clarify this uncertainly, the rhizospheric microbial communities of super rice plants at various growth stages were analysed using 16S rRNA high-throughput gene sequencing; microbial communities were then related to soil properties and rice productivity. Results The rhizospheric bacterial communities were characterized by the phyla Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, Chloroflexi, and Verrucomicrobia during all stages of rice growth. Rice production differed by approximately 30% between high- and low-yield sites that had uniform fertilization regimes and climatic conditions, suggesting the key role of microbial communities. Mantel tests showed a strong correlation between soil conditions and rhizospheric bacterial communities, and microorganisms had different effects on crop yield. Abstract In this paper, we present a portable wireless electrocorticography (ECoG) system. It uses a high resolution 32-channel flexible ECoG electrodes array to collect electrical signals of brain activities and to stimulate the lesions. Electronic circuits are designed for signal acquisition, processing and transmission using Bluetooth Low Energy 4 (LTE4) for wireless communication with cell phone. In-vivo experiments on a rat show that the flexible ECoG system can accurately record electrical signals of brain activities and transmit them to cell phone with a maximal sampling rate of 30 ksampling/s per channel. It demonstrates that the epilepsy lesions can be detected, located and treated through the ECoG system. The wireless ECoG system has low energy consumption and high brain spatial resolution, thus has great prospects for future application.

In order to extract the vortex features more accurately, a new method of vortex feature extraction on the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics data is proposed in the current study by combining rotation invariance and predictor-corrector method. There is a limitation in the original rotation invariance, which can only extract the vortex features that perform equal-speed rotations. The limitation is slightly weakened to a situation that the rotation invariance can be used, given that a specific axis is existed in the fluid to replace the axis needed for it. Therefore, as long as the axis exists, the modified rotation invariant method can be used. Meanwhile, the vortex features are extracted by predictor-corrector method. By calculating the cross product of the parallel vector field, the seed candidates of vortex core lines can be obtained, and the real seed points can be gained from the rotation invariant Jacobian. Finally, the seed point and a series of candidates based on the predictor-corrector method are connected to draw the vortex core lines. Compared with the original method, the rotation invariant predictor-corrector method not only expands the application scope, but also ensures the accuracy of extraction. Our method adds the steps of calculating the rotation invariant Jacobian, the performance is slightly lower, but with the increase of the particle number, the performance gradually tends to the original method.

Thin-film piezoelectric-on-silicon (TPoS) microelectromechanical (MEMS) resonators are required to have high Q-factor to offer satisfactory results in their application areas, such as oscillator, filter, and sensors. This paper proposed a phononic crystal (PnC)-reflector composite structure to improve the Q factor of TPoS resonators. A one-dimensional phononic crystal is designed and deployed on the tether aiming to suppress the acoustic leakage loss as the acoustic wave with frequency in the range of the PnC is not able to propagate through it, and a reflector is fixed on the anchoring boundaries to reflect the acoustic wave that lefts from the effect of the PnC. Several 10 MHz TPoS resonators are fabricated and tested from which the Q-factor of the proposed 10 MHz TPoS resonator which has PnC-reflector composite structure on the tether and anchoring boundaries achieved offers a loaded Q-factor of 4682 which is about a threefold improvement compared to that of the conventional resonator which is about 1570.

Narrow linewidth terahertz (THz) generation based on difference frequency generation pumped by an all-fiber parametric light source is reported. A pulse source with an ultra-narrow bandwidth is built up as the pump seed source for the succeeding optical parametric amplification (OPA). A pair of phase-conjugated beams is generated as the seed light through all-fiber OPA. The amplified phase-conjugated light beams are injected into 4-N,N-dimethylamino-4'-N'-methyl-stilbazolium 2,4,6-trimethylbenzenesulfonate (DSTMS) to stimulate the emission of terahertz radiation. A THz source with linewidth less than 512 MHz at 1.748 THz pumped by an all-fiber light source is achieved.

In underwater towing operations, the drag force and vertical offset angle of towropes are important considerations when choosing and setting up towing equipment. The aim of this paper is to study the variation in drag force, vertical offset angle, resistance, and attitude for towing operations with a view to optimizing these operations. An underwater experiment was conducted using a 1:8 scale physical model of a subsea module. A comprehensive series of viscous Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations were carried out based on Reynolds-averaged Navier−Stokes equations for uniform velocity towing. The results of the simulation were compared with experimental data and showed good agreement. Numerical results of the vorticity field and streamlines at the towing speeds were presented to analyze the distribution of vortexes and flow patterns. The resistance components were analyzed based on the numerical result. It was found that the lateral direction was a better direction for towing operations because of the smaller drag force, resistance, and offset angle. Similar patterns and locations of streamlines and vortexes were present in both the longitudinal and lateral directions, the total resistance coefficient decreases at a Reynolds number greater than that of a cylinder.

Prediction of memory performance (remembered or forgotten) has various potential applications not only for knowledge learning but also for disease diagnosis. Recently, subsequent memory effects (SMEs)-the statistical differences in electroencephalography (EEG) signals before or during learning between subsequently remembered and forgotten events-have been found. This finding indicates that EEG signals convey the information relevant to memory performance. In this paper, based on SMEs we propose a computational approach to predict memory performance of an event from EEG signals. We devise a convolutional neural network for EEG, called ConvEEGNN, to predict subsequently remembered and forgotten events from EEG recorded during memory process. With the ConvEEGNN, prediction of memory performance can be achieved by integrating two main stages: feature extraction and classification. To verify the proposed approach, we employ an auditory memory task to collect EEG signals from scalp electrodes. For ConvEEGNN, the average prediction accuracy was 72.07% by using EEG data from pre-stimulus and during-stimulus periods, outperforming other approaches. It was observed that signals from pre-stimulus period and those from during-stimulus period had comparable contributions to memory performance. Furthermore, the connection weights of ConvEEGNN network can reveal prominent channels, which are consistent with the distribution of SME studied previously.
