Abstract

Nucleotides, such as uridine 5′‐monophosphate (5′‐UMP) and cytidine 5′‐monophosphate (5′‐CMP), are heavily demanded as food additives, dietary supplements, and medicinal intermediates. Although enzymatic phosphorylation is an effective approach to producing these nucleosides, its practical application is challenging due to the need for the expensive enzymes and coenzyme guanosine‐5′‐triphosphate (GTP). Here we prepared biocompatible calcium‐based nanoflowers incorporated with cascade enzymes, uridine‐cytidine kinase (UCK) and acetate kinase (ACK), for the production of nucleotides. The spatial distribution of these enzymes was optimized to maximize their catalytic performances. The most active nanoflowers (Ca3(PO4)2& ACK)& UCK that display the rate‐limiting enzyme UCK on the outer layer were used in a packed‐bed reactor for continuous synthesis of 5′‐UMP and 5′‐CMP. The catalytic performance of the catalyst retained over 80% within 10 h, showing good operational stability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

29. An optimal energy-efficient scheduling with processing speed selection and due date constraint in a single-machine environment.

Abstract

To relive the pressure of electricity grid during the peak period, time-of-use (TOU) pricing strategy has been implemented in industries to encourage manufacturers to transfer some processing tasks from peak periods to non-peak periods, and the due date of each job cannot be violated. Under these contexts, this paper addresses a speed-scaling single machine scheduling problem with due date constraint to minimize the total electricity cost (TEC). More precisely, the main innovative works are described as follows: (1) seven critical problem properties (including four theorems and three lemmas) based on different processing time window forms are formally derived; and (2) a property-based genetic algorithm (PGA) with hybrid initialization method is designed according to the characteristics of the studied problem. In the numerical experiments, the Taguchi method of design-of-experiment is employed to seek the optimal combination of four key parameters in PGA. Subsequently, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed hybrid initialization method and problem properties are separately demonstrated by randomly generated 20 instances. After that, compared with other two traditional scheduling strategies, the proposed energy-efficient strategy can save at least 16% of TEC on average. Next, a relaxation coefficient (CR) is designed to measure the intrinsic link between TEC and the instance parameters (i.e. the due date and normal processing time). Finally, a real case is presented to verify the benefits of the proposed PGA algorithm and variable processing speeds, and the results show that the newly generated scheduling scheme based on the proposed PGA can reduce up to 46.36% of TEC compared with the existing company's scheduling scheme. 44. When Auditors Say 'No,' Does the Market Listen?

Abstract

Previous research on whether the market responds to auditors' opinions has provided mixed results. We revisit this issue in China, where individual investors who are more likely to neglect value-relevant information dominate the stock market. In addition to going concern opinions (GCOs), China permits modified audit opinions (MAOs) on violations of accounting standards or disclosure rules (GAAP/DISC MAOs), providing an opportunity not available in the literature to enrich the study of audit-opinion pricing. We find that, ceteris paribus, MAO recipients underperform in the future and have a higher incidence of adverse outcomes such as misreporting and stock delisting, and the market reacts negatively to MAOs during the short window around MAO disclosure. Importantly, MAO disclosure is not followed by negative long-term stock returns, suggesting stock price adjustments to MAOs are speedy and unbiased. These findings hold for both GCOs and GAAP/DISC MAOs. Together, our findings support the informativeness of audit opinions and cast doubt on the argument that investors inefficiently price audit opinions due to information-processing bias.

Abstract

In order to achieve the accurate trajectory tracking for a high-speed tracked vehicle in off-road conditions in the case where it is known that the desired trajectory is a large curvature curve, new research directions are being developed. In the framework of the Model Predictive Control (MPC) algorithm, the simplified ideal kinematics model of the tracked vehicle that ignores the sliding steering characteristics is applied to reduce the iterative solution time under high-speed driving conditions. By adjusting the weight coefficients of the objective function, the trajectory tracking accuracy is improved. This research is based on an unmanned electric drive tracked vehicle and carries out simulation experiments. Through real vehicle experiment, the control sequence of the experienced driver under the certain scene is collected, and then the vehicle control experience of human is obtained. Through simulation experiment, the vehicle tracking errors under different MPC weight coefficients of different curvature curves are obtained. In addition, the tracking control sequence is compared with the driver's control data. By the data analysis, the sensitivity of each weight coefficient to the tracking accuracy and how to create a driving mode that is closer to human by adjusting the weighting coefficients are determined.
