Abstract

At the current stage, the rapid Development of autonomous driving has made object detection in traffic scenarios a vital research task. Object detection is the most critical and challenging task in computer vision. Deep learning, with its powerful feature extraction capabilities, has found widespread applications in safety, military, and medical fields, and in recent years has expanded into the field of transportation, achieving significant breakthroughs. This survey is based on the theory of deep learning. It systematically summarizes the Development and current research status of object detection algorithms, and compare the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of the two types of algorithms. With a focus on traffic signs, vehicle detection, and pedestrian detection, it summarizes the applications and research status of object detection in traffic scenarios, highlighting the strengths, limitations, and applicable scenarios of various methods. It introduces techniques for optimizing object detection algorithms, summarizes commonly used object detection datasets and traffic scene datasets, along with evaluation criteria, and performs comparative analysis of the performance of deep learning algorithms. Finally, it concludes the development trends of object detection algorithms in traffic scenarios, providing research directions for intelligent transportation and autonomous driving.

Abstract

As the global population grows, achieving Zero Hunger by 2030 presents a significant challenge. Vertical farming technology offers a potential solution, making the path planning of agricultural robots in vertical farms a research priority. This study introduces the Vertical Farming System Multi-Robot Trajectory Planning (VFSMRTP) model. To optimize this model, we propose the Elitist Preservation Differential Evolution Grey Wolf Optimizer (EPDE-GWO), an enhanced version of the Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) incorporating elite preservation and differential evolution. The EPDE-GWO algorithm is compared with Genetic Algorithm (GA), Simulated Annealing (SA), Dung Beetle Optimizer (DBO), and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The experimental results demonstrate that EPDE-GWO reduces path length by 24.6%, prevents premature convergence, and exhibits strong global search capabilities. Thanks to the DE and EP strategies, the EPDE-GWO requires fewer iterations to reach the optimal solution, offers strong stability and robustness, and consistently finds the optimal solution at a high frequency. These attributes are particularly significant in the context of vertical farming, where optimizing robotic path planning is essential for maximizing operational efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and improving the scalability of farming operations. Abstract

With the rapid growth in urban construction in Malaysia, road breakage has challenged traditional manual inspection methods. In order to quickly and accurately detect the extent of road breakage, it is crucial to apply automated road crack detection techniques. Researchers have long studied image-based road crack detection techniques, especially the deep learning methods that have emerged in recent years, leading to breakthrough developments in the field. However, many issues remain in road crack detection methods using deep learning techniques. The field lacks state-of-the-art systematic reviews that can scientifically and effectively analyze existing works, document research trends, summarize outstanding research results, and identify remaining shortcomings. To conduct a systematic review of the relevant literature, a bibliometric analysis and a critical analysis of the papers published in the field were performed. VOSviewer and CiteSpace text mining tools were used to analyze and visualize the bibliometric analysis of some parameters derived from the articles. Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of different moisture contents of clay (13%, 15%, 17%, 19%, and 21%) and different coatings on the ability to reduce negative skin friction during a large-scale shear test. Four coating treatments of the concrete surface were investigated, i.e., no treatment, coating with a paraffin-oil mixture, coating with a polymer nanomaterial, and coating with paint. The results showed that when the moisture content of the clay was slightly larger than that of the plastic limit, the ability to reduce negative skin friction was the best, and the performance was similar for the paraffin-oil mixture, the polymer nanomaterial, and the paint. When the moisture content of the clay was lower than that of the plastic limit, the paraffin-oil mixture provided the best performance. The position of the neutral point can be determined by different methods, and the negative skin friction of piles should be reduced by applying coatings that are most suitable to different conditions.

50. Research on Corrosion Damage and Bearing Characteristics of Bridge Pile Foundation Concrete under a Dry-Wet-Freeze-Thaw Cycle

Abstract

This study investigated the corrosion damage and bearing characteristics of bridge pile foundations under a dry-wet-freeze-thaw cycle of composite salt in an alpine salt marsh area using an in situ test, laboratory test, and numerical simulations. The in situ test showed that the dry-wet-freeze-thaw cycle has little effect on the quality of the concrete specimens and rebar. The area of the rebar at a depth of 0.25 m had the highest corrosion rate of 91%. The application of epoxy resin on the surface improved erosion resistance. After one year of outdoor dry-wet-freeze-thaw cycle test, due to the interaction of compound salts, the quality of specimens is reduced under the denudation of chloride ions, while the mass of specimens is increased by the corrosion products formed under the joint action of carbonate and sulfate, resulting in less obvious change of specimen quality, the antierosion coefficient of the specimens decreased, the maximum loss rate of compressive strength was 38.2%, and the pile foundation began to deteriorate. The laboratory test showed that expansive substances, such as Friedel salt, appeared in the concrete specimens of pile foundation during 225 cycles of dry-wet-freeze-thaw cycles, the relative dynamic elastic modulus was reduced by 60.9%, the antierosion coefficient was reduced to 0.51, and the compressive strength loss rate was 65.9%. As such, the pile foundation was seriously damaged. The numerical simulation shows that, with an increase of the peeling thickness and the corrosion depth, the bearing capacity of the pile foundation will gradually decrease after 8 years. Without maintenance, the bearing capacity of a pile foundation will decrease by 34.45% in the 20th year.
