Abstract

The rapid progress of flexible electronics has met the growing need for detecting human movement information in exoskeleton auxiliary equipment. This study provides a review of recent advancements in the design and fabrication of flexible electronics used for human motion detection. Firstly, a comprehensive introduction is provided on various self-powered wearable flexible sensors employed in detecting human movement information. Subsequently, the algorithms utilized to provide feedback on human movement are presented, followed by a thorough discussion of their methods and effectiveness. Finally, the review concludes with perspectives on the current challenges and opportunities in implementing self-powered wearable flexible sensors in exoskeleton technology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The pick-and-place robots with high speed, high precision and high carrying capacity are demanded in industry and logistics. However, there are few 6-DOF parallel mechanisms that can be used for grasping and sorting. In order to design 6-DOF high performance parallel robots for the above purpose, a structural synthesis method is presented. First, the articulation modes of the APM with integrated grippers are determined based on the motion transmission characteristics of the common single-DOF grippers, and the required motion type of the limbs is obtained by velocity vector mapping analysis. Subsequently, a class of double-Delta-based robots with four types of grippers is presented, and their DOF are verified and demonstrated by means of the displacement group theory. The proposed robots have the characteristics of high speed, large workspace of the Delta robot, as well as high carrying capacity and grasping force, which are suitable for high performance pick-and-place applications.

Abstract

A self-assembling robot system, which combines four deployable manipulators with an operation object, is proposed in this paper. The manipulators can be stacked in a designated area and move independently from each other before being connected to an object. After the connection with the object, the connect units which located at the end of each manipulator ensure that the manipulators can remain connection with the object for operation. The connection can be realized through a vacuum cup or an electromagnet. The resulting robot system, formed by the four deployable manipulators and the operation object, is similar to a kinematic structure of parallel mechanism. The Robot is able to achieve manipulation of objects with 2R1T by actuating exactly three joints in each mode. Each mode is formed by different three manipulators and the object. Kinematics performance and application were demonstrated in this paper. Such a manipulator–object combination possesses some advantages over existing grippers and manipulation robot. It has the repetitive and reconstruction ability with different work mode than existing grippers and manipulation robot with fixed structure parameters.

40. Rigid blocks matching method based on contour curves and feature regions

Abstract

This study proposes a blocks matching method based on contour curves and feature regions that improve the matching precision and speed with which rigid blocks with a specified thickness in point clouds are matched. The method comprises two steps: coarse matching and fine matching. In the coarse matching step, the rigid blocks are first segmented into a series of surfaces and the fracture surfaces are distinguished. Then, the contour curves of the fracture surfaces are extracted using an improved boundary growth method and the rigid blocks are coarsely matched with them. In the fine matching step, feature regions are first extracted from the fracture surfaces. Then, the centroid of each feature region is calculated and the fine matching of rigid blocks with the centroid sets is completed using an improved iterative closest point (ICP) algorithm. The improved ICP algorithm integrates the rotation angle constraint and dynamic iteration coefficient into a probability ICP algorithm, which significantly improves matching precision and speed. Experiments conducted using public blocks and Terracotta Warriors blocks indicate that the proposed method carries out rigid blocks matching more accurately and rapidly than various conventional methods.
