The drivers and spatial distribution trends for net primary productivity (NPP) in Ningxia were studied to determine the priority vegetation restoration areas. NPP data from MOD17 A3 were used to determine the future NPP trends through slope trend analysis and the Hurst index. Spatial drivers were defined by a geographic detector and correlation analysis. Results indicate that NPP positively fluctuated from 2000 to 2020 with an average range between 119.98 and 249.66 gC/m2a, and a multi-year average of 190.15 gC/m2a. The spatial distribution has more obvious divergent characteristics, showing distribution characteristics of low in the central and northern sides and high in the southern and northern middle. Superimposed on the analysis of slope and Hurst indices, the future vegetation NPP in Ningxia will show four scenarios of continuous increase, continuous decrease, change from increase to decrease and change from decrease to increase, accounting for 22.35%, 1.36%, 71.42% and 2.86% of the area of the region, respectively. Driving factor influence can be divided into dominant factors and important factors. The interaction between the two factors is positive, and the maximum q value under the interaction of precipitation and temperature is 0.687. NPP is mainly driven by climatic factors in 50.92% of the area and is mainly distributed in the central, western and southern parts of Ningxia. The non-climatic-factor-driven areas can be used as priority vegetation restoration areas, which accounting for 47.08%, are mainly concentrated in the northern Yellow River irrigation area, the desert steppe in the central and eastern parts, and a small part in the southern Liupan Mountains. Ammonia-borane (AB) is an excellent material for chemical storage of hydrogen. However, the practical utilization of AB for production of hydrogen is hindered by the need of expensive noble metal-based catalysts. Here, we report Cu xCo1− xO nanoparticles (NPs) facilely deposited on graphene oxide (GO) as a low-cost and high-performance catalyst for the hydrolysis of AB. This hybrid catalyst exhibits an initial total turnover frequency (TOF) value of 70.0 (H2) mol/(Cat-metal) mol⋅min, which is the highest TOF ever reported for noble metal-free catalysts, and a good stability keeping 94 % activity after 5 cycles. Synchrotron radiation-based X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) investigations suggested that the high catalytic performance could be attributed to the interfacial interaction between Cu xCo1− xO NPs and GO. Moreover, the catalytic hydrolysis mechanism was studied by in situ XAS experiments for the first time, which reveal a significant water adsorption on the catalyst and clearly confirm the interaction between AB and the catalyst during hydrolysis. Water is the most essential resource for the ecological and biological survival of organisms as well as being an important strategic socio-economic factor. Stable isotopes of δD and δ18O in water are important indicators of hydrological and ecological process. In this study, temporal and spatial variations in δD and δ18O and transformations between three water bodies (precipitation, stream water, and groundwater) under ecological construction were studied in two contrasting watersheds of the Wuding River, China. In order to understanding the spatial and temporal variation of stable isotopes and water transmission times (WTT) under ecological construction, a total of 1028 water samples were collected from the 30 sites, and 79 precipitation samples were collected at the weather station. The results show that variation range of three water bodies occurred in the order precipitation > stream water > groundwater, the local meteoric water line was above the level of the last two, and the isotopic composition of stream water and groundwater in controlling watershed is more enriched than that in natural watershed. WTT from precipitation to stream water in Jiuyuangou were 1.53 times those of Peijiamao. Similarly, WTT from precipitation to groundwater was about 7.6 times than that form precipitation to stream water. Supply ratios exhibited obvious seasonal variation. Precipitation and groundwater recharged stream water mostly in the dry season, while precipitation and stream water recharged groundwater during the wet season. Overall, this study shows that ecological construction measures extend WTTs and enhance water evaporation and fractionation. The results of this research are significant as they enhance our understanding of water transformation on the Loess Plateau under ecological construction. • Water transmission times are effectively extended under ecological construction. • Water convert into each other in the same ways, but supply ratio is different. • Ecological construction had a constructive effect on water transfer on Loess Plateau.
