The recent discovery of superconductivity in pressurized Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) of nickelates has potential similarities with cuprate superconductors, which may provide unique perspectives on the mechanisms of high-temperature superconductivity. Up to now, most of high-pressure experiments concentrated on the lanthanum-related RP phase. Therefore, the discovery of new superconducting nickelate compounds is highly desired to explore the generality of pressure-induced superconductivity in RP nickelates. Here, we grow high-quality Pr4Ni3O10 single crystal with an optical floating zone furnace under high oxygen pressure and conduct high-pressure transport measurements with various pressure transmitting mediums. The density wave in Pr4Ni3O10 single crystal was suppressed by pressure, accompanying the arising of superconducting state beyond 10 GPa. The maximum and unsaturated Tc of 39 K is obtained within our research pressure. Although zero resistivity was not achieved in our experiments, the pressure and temperature-dependent diamagnetism along with the systematic evolution of resistivity with applied magnetic field, corroborate the superconductivity in Pr4Ni3O10 single crystals. Since the launch of GPT-3.5, intelligent home assistant technology based on large language models (LLMs) has made significant progress. These intelligent home assistant frameworks, such as those based on high-performance LLMs like GPT-4, have greatly expanded their functional range and application scenarios by computing on the cloud, enriching user experience and diversification. In order to optimize the privacy and economy of data processing while maintaining the powerful functions of LLMs, we propose Harmony, a smart home assistant framework that uses a locally deployable small-scale LLM. Based on Llama3-8b, an open LLM that can be easily deployed on a consumer-grade PC, Harmony does not send any data to the internet during operation, ensuring local computation and privacy secured. Harmony based on Llama3-8b achieved competitive performance on our benchmark tests with the framework used in related work with GPT-4. In addition to solving the issues mentioned above, Harmony can also take actions according to the user and home status, even if the user does not issue a command. For example, when the user wants to wake up later than normal on the weekend, Harmony would open the curtains only when the user gets up or prepare the room when the user comes home without requiring user commands.

We report a comprehensive study of electronic band structure for single-layer (SL) and bilayer (BL) RP-nickelates probed by in-situ HP X-ray absorption near edge spectroscopy (XANES). At ambient pressure (AP), the energy splitting delta_E of d_3z^2-r^2 and d_x^2-y^2 bands are directly observed in La3Ni2O7 (BL-La327) but not in La2NiO4 (SL-La214) above E_F, underlining the critical role of inner apical O atoms. A combination of DFT-based electronic band structure and projected density of states (PDOS) calculations with simulated XANES enables us to explain the observed main XANES features labelled by a, A, B', B and C when considering the orbital hybridizations, crystal field splitting (CFS) and core-hole screening of different 3d configurations for SL-La214 and BL-La327 nickelates. At high pressure (HP), the delta_E values of pre-edge peak form a dome-like evolution above 7.7 GPa with the maximum locating at around 20 GPa for metallic BL-La327. Analysis of its integrated area and FWHM provides strong evidence that the bonding d_3z^2-r^2 band crosses E_F above about 7.7 GPa for the metallic BL-La327. Growth of integrated area of pre-edge peak and C peak further evidences pressure-induced hole doping effect. Meanwhile, the pressure dependent FWHM of pre-edge peak implies a nonmonotonic evolution of orbital-selective electronic correlation above 7.7 GPa with extrema emerging at about 20 GPa. Moreover, we estimate the relative hole doping level using the energy shift of pre-edge peak, yielding 0.074 hole per Ni site or equivalently 1.1*10^21 cm^-3 at 20 GPa for the metallic BL-La327, which is comparable to cuprates. Our results have timely examined the electronic band structures as obtained from theoretical calculations, emphasizing the essential role of both d_3z^2-r^2 and d_x^2-y^2 bands as well as the electronic correlation in superconducting pairing for pressurized La3Ni2O7.

In this paper, we present an ultrasound mid-air haptic interaction system that integrates a designed visualization of haptic parameters while maintaining ease of control. The design of corresponding haptic parameters for real-world tactile textures is a complex task. Furthermore, users often face difficulties in simultaneously controlling multi-dimensional haptic parameters to achieve the desired vibration feedback. To address these challenges, the SLS optimization method facilitates user control of these multi-dimensional parameters through a simple one-dimensional slider. Concurrently, our system employs the "Growing Grass" metaphor to visualize haptic parameter adjustments in real-time. This approach combining visual and haptic sensations can bring richer experiences and generate a realistic sensation of touching a grassy surface. Our objective is to enhance users' intuitive comprehension of haptic parameters through this innovative system.

Texture rendering has attracted significant attention as a means of creating realistic experiences in human-virtual object interactions. But in practical applications, many limited device conditions do not support the complete reproduction of spatial and temporal tactile stimuli. Different frequency components of designed vibrations can activate texture-related sensations owing to similar receptors. Therefore, we can utilize corresponding vibration signals to provide tactile feedback within the constraints of limited device environments. However, designing specific vibrations for numerous real-world materials is impractical. This study proposes a human-in-the-loop vibration generation model based on user preferences. To enable users to easily control the generation of vibration samples with large parameter spaces, we introduced an optimization model based on Differential Subspace Search (DSS) and Generative Adversarial Network (GAN). With DSS, users can employ a one-dimensional slider to easily modify the high-dimensional latent space to ensure that the GAN can generate desired vibrations. We trained the generative model using an open dataset of tactile vibration data and selected five types of vibrations as target samples for the generation experiment. Extensive user experiments were conducted using the generated and real samples. The results indicated that our system could generate distinguishable samples that matched the target characteristics. Moreover, we established a correlation between subjects' ability to distinguish real samples and their ability to distinguish generated samples.

High-temperature superconductivity (HTSC) remains one of the most challenging and fascinating mysteries in condensed matter physics. Recently, superconductivity with transition temperature exceeding liquid-nitrogen temperature is discovered in La3Ni2O7 at high pressure, which provides a new platform to explore the unconventional HTSC. In this work, using high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and ab-initio calculation, we systematically investigate the electronic structures of La3Ni2O7 at ambient pressure. Our experiments are in nice agreement with ab-initio calculations after considering an orbital-dependent band renormalization effect. The strong electron correlation effect pushes a flat band of d_(z^2 ) orbital component below the Fermi level (EF), which is predicted to locate right at EF under high pressure. Moreover, the d_(x^2-y^2 ) band shows a pseudogap-like behavior with suppressed spectral weight and diminished quasiparticle peak near EF. Our findings provide important insights into the electronic structure of La3Ni2O7, which will shed light on the understanding of the unconventional superconductivity in nickelates.

As an empirical tool in materials science and engineering, the iconic phase diagram owes its robustness and practicality to the topological characteristics rooted in the celebrated Gibbs phase law (F = C - P + 2). When crossing the phase diagram boundary, the structure transition occurs abruptly, bringing about an instantaneous change in physical properties and limited controllability on the boundaries (F = 1). Here, we expand the sharp phase boundary to an amorphous transition region (F = 2) by partially disrupting the long-range translational symmetry, leading to a sequential crystalline-amorphous-crystalline (CAC) transition in a pressurized In2Te5 single crystal. Through detailed in-situ synchrotron diffraction, we elucidate that the phase transition stems from the rotation of immobile blocks [In2Te2]2+, linked by hinge-like [Te3]2- trimers. Remarkably, within the amorphous region, the amorphous phase demonstrates a notable 25 % increase of the superconducting transition temperature (Tc), while the carrier concentration remains relatively constant. Furthermore, we propose a theoretical framework revealing that the unconventional boost in amorphous superconductivity might be attributed to an intensified electron correlation, triggered by a disorder-augmented multifractal behavior. The (Bi2)m(Bi2Te3)n homologous series possess natural multilayer heterostructure with intriguing physical properties at ambient pressure. Herein, we report the pressure-dependent evolution of the structure and electrical transport of the dual topological insulator BiTe, a member of the (Bi2)m(Bi2Te3)n series. With applied pressure, BiTe exhibits several different crystal structures and distinct superconducting states, which is remarkably similar to other members of the (Bi2)m(Bi2Te3)n series. Our results provide a systematic phase diagram for the pressure-induced superconductivity in BiTe, contributing to the highly interesting physics in this (Bi2)m(Bi2Te3)n series., Comment: 17 pages, 5 figures

Nickelate superconductors have attracted a great deal of attention over the past few decades due to their similar crystal and electronic structures with high-temperature cuprate superconductors. Here, we report the superconductivity in a pressurized Ruddlesden-Popper phase single crystal, La4Ni3O10 (n = 3), and its interplay with the density wave order in the phase diagram. With increasing pressure, the density wave order as indicated by the anomaly in the resistivity is progressively suppressed, followed by the emergence of the superconductivity around 25 K. Our angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy measurements reveal that the electronic structure of La4Ni3O10 is very similar to that of La3Ni2O7, suggesting unified electronic properties of nickelates in Ruddlesden-Popper phases. Moreover, theoretical analysis unveils that antiferromagnetic (AFM) super-exchange interactions can serve as the effective pairing interaction for the emergence of superconductivity (SC) in pressurized La4Ni3O10. Topological transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) have attracted much attention due to its potential applications in spintronics and quantum computations. In this work, we systematically investigate the structural and electronic properties of topological TMDCs candidate ZrTe2 under high pressure. A pressure-induced Lifshitz transition is evidenced by the change of charge carrier type as well as the Fermi surface. Superconductivity was observed at around 8.3 GPa without structural phase transition. A typical dome-shape phase diagram is obtained with the maximum Tc of 5.6 K for ZrTe2. Furthermore, our theoretical calculations suggest the presence of multiple pressure-induced topological quantum phase transitions, which coexists with emergence of superconductivity. Layered SnAs-based Zintl compounds exhibit a distinctive electronic structure, igniting extensive research efforts in areas of superconductivity, topological insulators and quantum magnetism. In this paper, we systematically investigate the crystal structures and electronic properties of the Zintl compound SrSn2As2 under high-pressure. At approximately 20.8 GPa, pressure-induced superconductivity is observed in SrSn2As2 with a characteristic dome-like evolution of Tc. Theoretical calculations together with high pressure synchrotron X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy have identified that SrSn2As2 undergoes a structural transformation from a trigonal to a monoclinic structure. Beyond 28.3 GPa, the superconducting transition temperature is suppressed due to a reduction of the density of state at the Fermi level. Recently the discovery of superconductivity with a critical temperature Tc up to 80 K in Ruddlesden-Popper phases Lan+1NinO3n+1 (n = 2) under pressure has garnered considerable attention. Up to now, the superconductivity was only observed in La3Ni2O7 single crystal grown with the optical-image floating zone furnace under oxygen pressure. It remains to be understood the effect of chemical doping on superconducting La3Ni2O7 as well as other Ruddlesden-Popper phases. Here, we systematically investigate the effect of external pressure and chemical doping on polycrystalline Ruddlesden-Popper phases. Our results demonstrate the application of pressure and doping effectively tunes the transport properties of Ruddlesden-Popper phases. We find pressure-induced superconductivity up to 86 K in La3Ni2O7 polycrystalline sample, while no signatures of superconductivity are observed in La2NiO4 and La4Ni3O10 systems under high pressure up to 50 GPa. The Zintl compound AIn2X2 (A = Ca, Sr, and X = P, As), as a theoretically predicted new non-magnetic topological insulator, requires experiments to understand their electronic structure and topological characteristics. In this paper, we systematically investigate the crystal structures and electronic properties of the Zintl compound SrIn2As2 under both ambient and high-pressure conditions. Based on systematic angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) measurements, we observed the topological surface states on its (001) surface as predicted by calculations, indicating that SrIn2As2 is a strong topological insulator. Interestingly, application of pressure effectively tuned the crystal structure and electronic properties of SrIn2As2. Superconductivity is observed in SrIn2As2 for pressure where the temperature dependence of the resistivity changes from a semiconducting-like behavior to that of a metal. Here we report a combined study of low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT) on PdCrO$_2$, a delafossite metal with an antiferromagnetic order below ~37.5 K. First, on the CrO$_2$-terminated polar surface we detect a gap-like feature both below and above the N\'eel temperature. The DMFT calculations indicate that this gap is opened due to the strong correlations of Cr-3d electrons, suggesting the hidden Mott nature of the gap. Then, we observe two kinds of Pd-terminated polar surfaces. One is a well-ordered Pd surface with the Fermi-surface-nesting-induced incommensurate charge modulation, while the other one is a reconstructed Pd surface with the individual nano-scale non-periodic domain structures. On the well-ordered Pd surface, the interference between the incommensurate charge modulation and the atomic lattice forms the periodic moir\'e pattern. The quasi-one-dimensional material PdTeI exhibits unusual electronic transport properties at ambient pressure. Here, we systematically investigate both the structural and electronic responses of PdTeI to external pressure, through a combination of electrical transport, synchrotron x-ray diffraction (XRD), and Raman spectroscopy measurements. The charge density wave (CDW) order in PdTeI is fragile and the transition temperature TCDW decreases rapidly with the application of external pressure. The resistivity hump is indiscernible when the pressure is increased to 1 GPa. Upon further compression, zero resistance is established above 20 GPa, suggesting the occurrence of superconductivity. Recently, the hexagonal phase of ternary transition metal pnictides TT'X (T = Zr, Hf; T'= Ru; X = P, As), which are well-known noncentrosymmetric superconductors, were predicted to host nontrivial bulk topology. In this work, we systematically investigate the electronic responses of ZrRuAs to external pressure. At ambient pressure, ZrRuAs show superconductivity with Tc ~ 7.74 K, while a large upper critical field ~ 13.03 T is obtained for ZrRuAs, which is comparable to the weak-coupling Pauli limit. The resistivity of ZrRuAs exhibits a non-monotonic evolution with increasing pressure. The superconducting transition temperature Tc increases with applied pressure and reaches a maximum value of 7.93 K at 2.1 GPa, followed by a decrease. The nontrivial topology is robust and persists up to the high-pressure regime. Considering both robust superconductivity and intriguing topology in this material, our results could contribute to studies of the interplay between topological electronic states and superconductivity., Comment: 17 pages,6 figures, 1 table

Kagome lattice systems have been proposed to host rich physics, which provide an excellent platform to explore unusual quantum states. Here, we report on the discovery of superconductivity in van der Waals material Pd3P2S8 under pressure. The superconductivity is observed in Pd3P2S8 for those pressures where the temperature dependence of the resistivity changes from a semiconducting-like behavior to that of a normal metal. The superconducting transition temperature Tc increases with applied pressure and reaches ~ 6.83 K at 79.5 GPa. Combining high-pressure XRD, Raman spectroscopy and theoretical calculations, our results demonstrate that the observed superconductivity induced by high pressure in Pd3P2S8 is closely related to the formation of amorphous phase, which results from the structural instability due to the enhanced coupling between interlayer Pd and S atoms upon compression., Comment: 13 pages, 5 figures

In recent years, the use of WiFi fingerprints for indoor positioning has grown in popularity, largely due to the widespread availability of WiFi and the proliferation of mobile communication devices. However, many existing methods for constructing fingerprint datasets rely on labor-intensive and time-consuming processes of collecting large amounts of data. Additionally, these methods often focus on ideal laboratory environments, rather than considering the practical challenges of large multi-floor buildings. To address these issues, we present a novel WiDAGCN model that can be trained using a small number of labeled site survey data and large amounts of unlabeled crowdsensed WiFi fingerprints. By constructing heterogeneous graphs based on received signal strength indicators (RSSIs) between waypoints and WiFi access points (APs), our model is able to effectively capture the topological structure of the data. We also incorporate graph convolutional networks (GCNs) to extract graph-level embeddings, a feature that has been largely overlooked in previous WiFi indoor localization studies. To deal with the challenges of large amounts of unlabeled data and multiple data domains, we employ a semi-supervised domain adversarial training scheme to effectively utilize unlabeled data and align the data distributions across domains. The magnetic van der Waals crystals (MnX2Te4)m(X2Te3)n (X = Sb, Bi) have drawn significant attention due to their rich topological properties and the tenability by external magnetic field. In this work, we report on the discovery of superconductivity in magnetic topological insulator candidate MnSb4Te7 (m = 1, n = 1) via the application of high pressure. The antiferromagnetic ordering is robust to pressure until 8 GPa and then fully suppressed. The carrier type converts from hole- to electron-type accompanied with structural phase transition at around 15 GPa. Superconductivity emerges near the critical pressure 30 GPa where MnSb4Te7 converted into a simple cubic phase. Interestingly, MnSb4Te7 shows a dome-like phase diagram with a maximum Tc of 2.2 K at 50.7 GPa.
