1. Numerical simulation and application of argon blowing from tundish cover for bloom continuous casting

Abstract: During the continuous casting process, the residual oxygen in the tundish can be significantly reduced by argon blowing from the tundish cover (ABTC). As a result, the effect of protective casting can be obviously improved, which helps to reduce the reoxidation of molten steel in the tundish. In the present work, numerical models for the ABTC of a six-strand continuous casting machine were established and verified by the measured oxygen mass fraction in the tundish during the ABTC. The results indicate that the best conditions for ABTC are to install the argon pipes on either side of the tundish cover holes, seal the baking holes, and keep the stopper rod holes open. The argon flow rate should be ≥120 m3/h during the period of empty tundish and ≥60 m3/h during the period of normal casting. Based on the calculation results, industrial testsof ABTC were carried out. The results indicated that the increased nitrogen content in steel(Δw[N]) decreased by 21.5% from 8.78×10- 6 to 6.89×10-6 , from the end of RH to tundish, and the amount of inclusions except for MnS in bloom (scanned size: 8 mm × 8 mm) decreased by 21.3% from 13.43 to 10.57, and the average size of inclusions decreased by 19.0% from 9.27 μm to 7.51 μm.

2. Near-Earth Asteroids as the parents of the $\delta$-Cancrid Meteoroid Stream

Abstract: The $\delta$-Cancrid meteoroid stream forms four active meteor showers which are observable on the Earth annually during January-February and August-September. The stream's definite parent comet has not been established. We performed a search for near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) associated with this stream. We have followed the backward evolution of the orbital elements of a sample of NEAs and found their orbits at the Earth-crossing positions. Using these orbits, we alculated the theoretical parameters of meteor showers associated with the considered NEAs. We carried out our search for observable active showers that match theoretically predicted ones with published data, and the result turned out that the predicted meteor showers of 13 NEAs were identified with the active showers produced by the $\delta$-Cancrid meteoroid stream. The comet-like orbits of NEAs and established association with active meteor showers indicate their common cometary origin. The NEAs considered are moving within the stream and likely represent the dormant remnants of a parent comet of the $\delta$-Cancrid asteroid-meteoroid complex disintegrated more than 12 thousand years ago., Comment: Accepted by RAA; 16 pages, 5 figures

Abstract: Using the B$\rho$-defined isochronous mass spectrometry technique, we report the first determination of the $^{23}$Si, $^{26}$P, $^{27}$S, and $^{31}$Ar masses and improve the precision of the $^{28}$S mass by a factor of 11. Our measurements confirm that these isotopes are bound and fix the location of the proton dripline in P, S, and Ar. We find that the mirror energy differences of the mirror-nuclei pairs $^{26}$P-$^{26}$Na, $^{27}$P-$^{27}$Mg, $^{27}$S-$^{27}$Na, $^{28}$S-$^{28}$Mg, and $^{31}$Ar-$^{31}$Al deviate significantly from the values predicted assuming mirror symmetry. In addition, we observe similar anomalies in the excited states, but not in the ground states, of the mirror-nuclei pairs $^{22}$Al-$^{22}$F and $^{23}$Al-$^{23}$Ne. Using $ab~ initio$ VS-IMSRG and mean field calculations, we show that such a mirror-symmetry breaking phenomeon can be explained by the extended charge distributions of weakly-bound, proton-rich nuclei. When observed, this phenomenon serves as a unique signature that can be valuable for identifying proton-halo candidates.

Abstract: For the High-Luminosity (HL-LHC) phase, the upgrade of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN will include a novel MIP Timing Detector (MTD). The central part of MTD, the barrel timing layer (BTL), is designed to provide a measurement of the time of arrival of charged particles with a precision of 30 ps at the beginning of HL-LHC, progressively degrading to 60 ps while operating in an extremely harsh radiation environment for over a decade. In this paper we present a comparative analysis of the time resolution of BTL module prototypes made of LYSO:Ce crystal bars read out by silicon photo-multipliers (SiPMs). The timing performance measured in beam test campaigns is presented for prototypes with different construction and operation parameters, such as different SiPM cell sizes (15, 20, 25 and 30 $\rm \mu m$), SiPM manufacturers and crystal bar thicknesses. The evolution of time resolution as a function of the irradiation level has been studied using non-irradiated SiPMs as well as SiPMs exposed up to $2\times 10^{14}~n_{eq}/cm^2$ fluence. The key parameters defining the module time resolution such as SiPM characteristics (gain, photon detection efficiency, radiation induced dark count rate) and crystal properties (light output and dimensions) are discussed. These results have informed the final choice of the MTD barrel sensor configuration and offer a unique starting point for the design of future large-area scintillator-based timing detectors in either low or high radiation environments.

Abstract: Massive stars end their life as core-collapse supernovae, amongst which some extremes are Type Ic broad-lined supernovae associated with long-duration gamma-ray bursts (LGRBs) having powerful relativistic jets. Their less-extreme brethren make unsuccessful jets that are choked inside the stars, appearing as X-ray flashes or low-luminosity GRBs. On the other hand, there exists a population of extragalactic fast X-ray transients (EFXTs) with timescales ranging from seconds to thousands of seconds, whose origins remain obscure. Known sources that contribute to the observed EFXT population include the softer analogs of LGRBs, shock breakouts of supernovae, or unsuccessful jets. Here, we report the discovery of the bright X-ray transient EP240414a detected by the Einstein Probe (EP), which is associated with the Type Ic supernova SN 2024gsa at a redshift of 0.401. The X-ray emission evolution is characterised by a very soft energy spectrum peaking at < 1.3 keV, which makes it distinct from known LGRBs, X-ray flashes, or low-luminosity GRBs. Follow-up observations at optical and radio bands revealed the existence of a weak relativistic jet that interacts with an extended shell surrounding the progenitor star. Located on the outskirts of a massive galaxy, this event reveals a new population of explosions of Wolf-Rayet stars characterised by a less powerful engine that drives a successful but weak jet, possibly owing to a progenitor star with a smaller core angular momentum than in traditional LGRB progenitors., Comment: 43 pages, 9 figures, 4 tables, submitted. 6. A new method for determination of the theoretical reduction amount for wide-thick slab during the mechanical reduction process

Abstract: Mechanical soft reduction (MSR) is an effective method for elimination of the centerline segregation and porosity of the continuous casting steel slab, and the reduction amount is a key parameter that determines whether the MSR could be applied successfully. In the present work, a 2D heat transfer model was developed for predicting the non-uniform solidification of the wide-thick slab. The measured shell thickness by nail shooting experiment and the measured slab surface temperature by infrared camera were applied to validate the 2D heat transfer model. A new calculation method of theoretical reduction amount that could consider the influence of non-uniform solidification of the wide-thick slab was then derived. Based on the predicted temperature field by the 2D heat transfer model and the newly-proposed calculation method, the required theoretical reduction amount and reduction gradient/rate for the wide-thick slab were calculated and discussed. The difference between the newly-proposed method and the previous method, the influence of the casting speed and slab thickness on the required theoretical reduction amount and reduction gradient/rate were also investigated.

7. Exploring isospin-nonconserving effects in the upper $fp$ shell with new mass measurements

Abstract: Nuclear mass measurements have recently been extended conspicuously to proton-rich region in the upper $fp$ shell. The new data are utilized to study isospin symmetry breaking phenomena}using Coulomb displacement energy (CDE) and triplet displacement energy (TDE) as probes. The new mass data, either measured for the first time or with greatly improved accuracy, removed several previously found ``anomalies" in the systematical behavior in the $fp$ shell. Remarkably, more regular odd-even staggering patterns can be established in both CDE and TDE, calling for a uniform explanation in terms of isospin-nonconserving (INC) forces across the $sd$, $f_{7/2}$, and upper $fp$ shells. By extending the large-scale shell-model calculation [Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{110}, 172505 (2013)] to the upper $fp$-shell region, we found that, in order to describe the new data, the same INC force is required as previously used for the $f_{7/2}$ shell. Especially, we propose the $T=1$ TDE for those triplet nuclei, that have $pp$, $nn$, and $pn$ pairs on top of a common even-even $N=Z$ core, to be a good indicator for the isotensor component of isospin violating interactions, which is estimated here to be 150 keV., Comment: 7 pages, 2 figures

8. Thermal, topological, and scattering effects of an AdS charged black hole with an antisymmetric tensor background

Abstract: In this study, we explore a spherically symmetric charged black hole with a cosmological constant under the influence of a Kalb--Ramond field background. We compute the photon sphere and shadow radii, validating our findings using observational data from the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT), with a particular emphasis on the shadow images of Sagittarius $A^{*}$. Furthermore, we investigate the \textit{greybody} factors, emission rate, and partial absorption cross section. It is shown that the Lorentz-violating parameter $\bar{l}$ has an important effect on the absorption cross section. Our analysis also includes an examination of the topological charge, temperature-dependent topology, and generalized free energy. In particular, we regard the AdS charged black hole with an antisymmetric tensor background as a topological defect in the thermodynamic space, then the system has the same topological classification to the charged RN-AdS black hole., Comment: 9 pages, 17 figures

9. JWST reveals a rapid and strong day side variability of 55 Cancri e

Abstract: The nature of the close-in rocky planet 55 Cnc e is puzzling despite having been observed extensively. Its optical and infrared occultation depths show temporal variability, in addition to a phase curve variability observed in the optical. We wish to explore the possibility that the variability originates from the planet being in a 3:2 spin-orbit resonance, thus showing different sides during occultations. We proposed and were awarded Cycle 1 time at the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to test this hypothesis. JWST/NIRCam observed five occultations (secondary eclipses), of which four were observed within a week, of the planet simultaneously at 2.1 and 4.5 {\mu}m. While the former gives band-integrated photometry, the latter provides a spectrum between 3.9-5.0 {\mu}m. We find that the occultation depths in both bandpasses are highly variable and change between a non-detection (-5 +/- 6 ppm and 7 +/- 9 ppm) to 96 +/- 8 ppm and 119 (+34) (-19) ppm at 2.1 {\mu}m and 4.5 {\mu}m, respectively. Interestingly, the variations in both bandpasses are not correlated and do not support the 3:2 spin-orbit resonance explanation. The measured brightness temperature at 4.5 {\mu}m varies between 873-2256 K and is lower than the expected dayside temperature of bare rock with no heat re-distribution (2500 K) which is indicative of an atmosphere. Our atmospheric retrieval analysis of occultation depth spectra at 4.5 {\mu}m finds that different visits statistically favour various atmospheric scenarios including a thin outgassed CO/CO2 atmosphere and a silicate rock vapour atmosphere. Some visits even support a flat line model. The observed variability could be explained by stochastic outgassing of CO/CO2, which is also hinted by retrievals. Abstract: Charge-changing cross-sections of $^{11-16}$C, $^{13-17}$N and $^{15-18}$O on a carbon target have been determined at energies around 300 MeV/nucleon. A nucleon separation energy-dependent correction factor has been introduced to the Glauber model calculation for extracting the nuclear charge radii from the experimental CCCSs. The charge radii of $^{11}$C, $^{13,16}$N and $^{15}$O thus were determined for the first time. With the new radii, we studied the experimental mirror-difference charge radii ($\Delta R_{\text {ch}}^{\text {mirror}}$) of $^{11}$B-$^{11}$C, $^{13}$C-$^{13}$N, $^{15}$N-$^{15}$O, $^{17}$N-$^{17}$Ne pairs for the first time. We find that the $\Delta R_{\text {ch}}^{\text {mirror}}$ values of $^{13}$C-$^{13}$N and $^{15}$N-$^{15}$O pairs follow well the empirical relation to the isospin asymmetry predicted by the $ab$ $initio$ calculations, while $\Delta R_{\text {ch}}^{\text {mirror}}$ of $^{11}$B-$^{11}$C and $^{17}$N-$^{17}$Ne pairs deviate from such relation by more than two standard deviations., Comment: 3 figures, submitted to Physics Letters B

Abstract: The discovery of pressurized superconductivity at 80 K in La3Ni2O7 officially brings nickelates into the family of high-temperature superconductors, which gives rise to not only new insights but also mysteries in the strongly correlated superconductivity. More recently, the sibling compound La4Ni3O10 was also shown to be superconducting below about 25 K under pressure, further boosting the popularity of nickelates in the Ruddlesden-Popper phase. In this study, combining high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and ab initio calculation, we systematically investigate the electronic structures of La4Ni3O10 at ambient pressure. We reveal a high resemblance of La4Ni3O10 with La3Ni2O7 in the orbital-dependent fermiology and electronic structure, suggesting a similar electronic correlation between the two compounds. The temperature-dependent measurements imply an orbital-dependent energy gap related to the density-wave transition in La4Ni3O10. By comparing the theoretical pressure-dependent electronic structure, clues about the superconducting high-pressure phase can be deduced from the ambient measurements, providing crucial information for deciphering the unconventional superconductivity in nickelates.

Abstract: Long gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are believed to originate from core collapse of massive stars. High-redshift GRBs can probe the star formation and reionization history of the early universe, but their detection remains rare. Here we report the detection of a GRB triggered in the 0.5--4 keV band by the Wide-field X-ray Telescope (WXT) on board the Einstein Probe (EP) mission, designated as EP240315a, whose bright peak was also detected by the Swift Burst Alert Telescope and Konus-Wind through off-line analyses. At a redshift of $z=4.859$, EP240315a showed a much longer and more complicated light curve in the soft X-ray band than in gamma-rays. Benefiting from a large field-of-view ($\sim$3600 deg$^2$) and a high sensitivity, EP-WXT captured the earlier engine activation and extended late engine activity through a continuous detection. With a peak X-ray flux at the faint end of previously known high-$z$ GRBs, the detection of EP240315a demonstrates the great potential for EP to study the early universe via GRBs., Comment: 41 pages, 8 figures, 7 tables

Abstract: In addition to the pressurized high-temperature superconductivity, bilayer and trilayer nickelate superconductors Lan+1NinO3n+1 (n = 2 and 3) exhibit many intriguing properties at ambient pressure, such as orbital-dependent electronic correlation, non-Fermi liquid behavior, and density-wave transitions. Here, using ultrafast reflectivity measurement, we observe a drastic difference between the ultrafast dynamics of the bilayer and trilayer nickelates at ambient pressure. Firstly, we observe a coherent phonon mode in La4Ni3O10 involving the collective vibration of La, Ni, and O atoms, which is absent in La3Ni2O7. Secondly, the temperature-dependent relaxation time diverges near the density-wave transition temperature of La4Ni3O10, in drastic contrast to kink-like changes in La3Ni2O7. Moreover, we estimate the electron-phonon coupling constants to be 0.05~0.07 and 0.12~0.16 for La3Ni2O7 and La4Ni3O10, respectively, suggesting a relatively minor role of electron-phonon coupling in the electronic properties of Lan+1NinO3n+1. Our work not only sheds light on the relevant microscopic interaction but also establishes a foundation for further studying the interplay between superconductivity and density-wave transitions in nickelate superconductors.

Abstract: A central paradigm of non-equilibrium physics concerns the dynamics of heterogeneity and disorder, impacting processes ranging from the behavior of glasses to the emergent functionality of active matter. Understanding these complex mesoscopic systems requires probing the microscopic trajectories associated with irreversible processes, the role of fluctuations and entropy growth, and the timescales on which non-equilibrium responses are ultimately maintained. Approaches that illuminate these processes in model systems may enable a more general understanding of other heterogeneous non-equilibrium phenomena, and potentially define ultimate speed and energy cost limits for information processing technologies. Here, we apply ultrafast single shot x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy to resolve the non-equilibrium, heterogeneous, and irreversible mesoscale dynamics during a light-induced phase transition. This approach defines a new way of capturing the nucleation of the induced phase, the formation of transient mesoscale defects at the boundaries of the nuclei, and the eventual annihilation of these defects, even in systems with complex polarization topologies. A non-equilibrium response spanning >10 orders of magnitude in timescales is observed, with multistep behavior similar to the plateaus observed in supercooled liquids and glasses. We show how the observed time-dependent long-time correlations can be understood in terms of the stochastic dynamics of domain walls, encoded in effective waiting-time distributions with power-law tails. This work defines new possibilities for probing the non-equilibrium and correlated dynamics of disordered and heterogeneous media.

Abstract: The ground-state mass excess of the $T_{z}=-2$ drip-line nucleus $^{22}$Al is measured for the first time to be $18103(10)$ keV using the newly-developed B$\rho$-defined isochronous mass spectrometry method at the cooler storage ring in Lanzhou. The new mass excess value allowed us to determine the excitation energies of the two low-lying $1^+$ states in $^{22}$Al with significantly reduced uncertainties of 51 keV. Comparing to the analogue states in its mirror nucleus $^{22}$F, the mirror energy differences of the two $1^+$ states in the $^{22}$Al-$^{22}$F mirror pair are determined to be $-625(51)$ keV and $-330(51)$ keV, respectively. The excitation energies and the mirror energy differences are used to test the state-of-the-art \textit{ab initio} valence-space in-medium similarity renormalization group calculations with four sets of interactions derived from the chiral effective field theory. The mechanism leading to the large mirror energy differences is investigated and attributed to the occupation of the $\pi s_{1/2}$ orbital., Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures

19. Assessing Left Main Bifurcation Anatomy and Haemodynamics: A Potential Surrogate for Disease Risk in Suspected Coronary Artery Disease Without Stenosis?

Abstract: Coronary anatomy governs local haemodynamics associated with atherosclerotic development, progression and ultimately adverse clinical outcomes. However, lack of large sample size studies and methods to link adverse haemodynamics to anatomical information has hindered meaningful insights to date. The Left Main coronary bifurcations of 127 patients with suspected coronary artery disease in the absence of significant stenosis were segmented from CTCA images before computing the local haemodynamics. We correlated 11 coronary anatomical characteristics with the normalised lumen area exposed to adverse haemodynamics linked with atherosclerotic processes. These include mean curvatures and diameters of branches, bifurcation and inflow angles, and Finet's ratio as the anatomical parameters, and low Time-Averaged Endothelial Shear Stress (lowTAESS<0.5Pa), high Oscillatory Shear Index (highOSI>0.1), and high Relative Residence Time (highRRT>4.17 1/Pa) for the haemodynamic consideration. We separately tested if the geometric measures and haemodynamics indicators differed between subgroups (sex, smokers, and those with hypertension). We then use a step-down multiple linear regression model to find the best model for predicting lowTAESS, highOSI and highRRT. Finet's Ratio (FR) significantly correlated to lowTAESS (p<0.001). Vessel diameters and curvature correlated to highOSI (both p<0.001). Finet's ratio, vessel diameters and daughter branch curvature independently correlated to RRT (all p<0.01). Our results indicate that specific anatomical vessel characteristics may be used as a surrogate of adverse haemodynamic environment associated with clinically adverse mechanisms of disease. This is especially powerful with the latest computing resources and may unlock clinical integration via standard imaging modalities as biomarkers without further computationally expensive simulations., Comment: 14 pages, 2 figures

Abstract: As the backbone of the fifth-generation (5G) cellular network, massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) encounters a significant challenge in practical applications: how to deploy a large number of antenna elements within limited spaces. Recently, holographic communication has emerged as a potential solution to this issue. It employs dense antenna arrays and provides a tractable model. Nevertheless, some challenges must be addressed to actualize this innovative concept. One is the mutual coupling among antenna elements within an array. When the element spacing is small, near-field coupling becomes the dominant factor that strongly restricts the array performance. Another is the polarization of electromagnetic waves. As an intrinsic property, it was not fully considered in the previous channel modeling of holographic communication. The third is the lack of real-world experiments to show the potential and possible defects of a holographic communication system. In this paper, we propose an electromagnetic channel model based on the characteristics of electromagnetic waves. This model encompasses the impact of mutual coupling in the transceiver sides and the depolarization in the propagation environment. Furthermore, by approximating an infinite array, the performance restrictions of large-scale dense antenna arrays are also studied theoretically to exploit the potential of the proposed channel. In addition, numerical simulations and a channel measurement experiment are conducted. Abstract: We present the charge-changing cross sections (CCCS) of $^{11-15}$C, $^{13-17}$N, and $^{15,17-18}$O at around 300 MeV/nucleon on a carbon target, which extends to $p$-shell isotopes with $N < Z$ for the first time. The Glauber model, which considers only the proton distribution of projectile nuclei, underestimates the cross sections by more than 10\%. We show that this discrepancy can be resolved by considering the contribution from the charged-particle evaporation process (CPEP) following projectile neutron removal. Using nucleon densities from the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum, we investigate the isospin-dependent CPEP contribution to the CCCS for a wide range of neutron-to-proton separation energy asymmetry. Our calculations, which include the CPEP contribution, agree well with existing systematic data and reveal an ``evaporation peak" at the isospin symmetric region where the neutron-to-proton separation energy is close to zero. These results suggest that analysis beyond the Glauber model is crucial for accurately determining nuclear charge radii from CCCSs., Comment: 5 figures

He was administered a therapeutic regimen consisting of terbinafine, ketoconazole cream, and miconazole shampoo for 2 months. However, the symptoms recurred 3 months after the treatment ended. Fungal culture and sequencing confirmed the infection of Hortaea werneckii. Drug sensitivity testing showed that the infecting strain of the patient remained sensitive to the five commonly used antifungal drugs in vitro. Considering that glycosylation-related genes have not been reported in patients with asthma, we aimed in this study to identify key glycosylation-related genes involved in asthma and their potential as therapeutic targets.Material and Methods: In the GSE63142 microarray dataset, we performed weighted gene co-expression network, protein–protein interaction network, Gene Ontology, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment, and CIBERSORT analyses to identify glycosylation-related genes associated with asthma. Subsequently, these key genes were validated in the GSE67472 microarray dataset and BEAS-2B cells. Correlation analysis of key gene expression and clinical characteristics of asthma patients were performed using Spearman correlation analysis.Results: Six key glycosylation-related genes related to asthma were identified: FUT5, FUT3, HCRT, B3GNT6, KDELR3, and SCGB1A1. Expression of FUT5, FUT3, B3GNT6, and KDELR3 was significantly upregulated and that of HCRT and SCGB1A1 significantly downregulated in BEAS-2B cells stimulated with IL-13/IL-4. Moreover, expression of key glycosylation-related genes in the peripheral blood of asthma patients correlated strongly with lung function and eosinophils.Conclusion: Our findings have implications for identifying potential therapeutic targets and prognostic markers for asthma.Keywords: asthma, glycosylation, gene, bioinformatics, biomarker

Exosomes are crucial for intercellular signaling of OC and OB in bone repair. Icariin, has been shown to regulate the balance between OC and OB. However, the specific mechanisms by which icariin influences exosomes derived from osteoclasts, and subsequently impacts osteoblast activity, remain unclear. This study aims to investigate the effects of icariin-treated osteoclast-derived exosomes (ICA-OC-Exo) on osteoblast function and bone repair in cases of infected bone defects.Methods: We investigated the exosome profile and localization of multivesicular bodies (MVB) and quantification of intraluminal vesicles (ILVs) in osteoclasts by using transmission electron microscopy. Additionally, the expressions of Rab27A and MITF, which are associated with exosome release, were determined through immunofluorescence staining and Western blot. The profiling of exosomal miRNA expression was conducted via miRNA-sequencing. The effects of ICA-OC-Exo on osteoblast differentiation were determined using RT-qPCR, Western blot, alkaline phosphatase staining. Additionally, ICA-OC-Exo was administered into the localized bone defect of the infected bone rat models, and bone formation was assessed using Micro-CT.Results: Icariin increased the presence of MVBs in the cytoplasm through modulation of the MITF/Rab27A signaling pathway, resulting in higher number of ICA-OC-Exo compared to OC-Exo. Additionally, miR-331-3p expression in ICA-OC-Exo was found to be elevated compared to OC-Exo. ICA-OC-Exo was observed to stimulate osteoblast function by targeting FGF23, reducing DKK1, and subsequently upregulating ALP. In the in vivo study, ICA-OC-Exo exhibited the capacity to enhance bone healing at the site of a local bone defect following anti-infection treatment.Conclusion: Icariin enhanced the quantification of OC-Exo and the expression of miRNA-331-3p in OC-Exo, leading to the regulation of osteoblast function via activation of the miRNA-331-3p/FGF23/DKK1 pathway. This study aims to develop a multifunctional nanodrug, DEX@MPDA-Arg@Si (DMAS), which integrates mesoporous polydopamine, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-siRNA, and dexamethasone (DEX) to address these therapeutic targets.Methods: Physicochemical properties of DMAS were measured using transmission electron microscopy and a nanoparticle size analyzer. The encapsulation efficiency and drug loading capacity of DMAS were measured using a UV-visible spectrophotometer. The in vivo therapeutic efficacy and ocular safety of DMAS were evaluated using three established mouse models, including the alkali burn-induced corneal neovascularization (CoNV) model, the oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) model, and the laser-induced choroidal neovascularization (CNV) model.Results: The DMAS nanoparticles demonstrated a uniform bowl-like shape with an average size of 264.9 ± 2.5 nm and a zeta potential of − 28.2 ± 4.2 mV. They exhibited high drug-loading efficiency (36.04 ± 3.60% for DEX) and excellent biocompatibility. In vitro studies confirmed its potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic properties. In vivo, DMAS treatment led to significant therapeutic effects across all models. It effectively inhibited CoNV, promoted corneal repair, and modulated inflammation in the alkali burn model. In the OIR model, DMAS reduced retinal neovascularization by decreasing VEGF expression. In the laser-induced CNV model, it significantly reduced the CNV area and lesion thickness.Conclusion: This research developed a multifunctional nanodrug, DMAS, capable of co-delivering VEGF-siRNA and DEX, offering synergistic therapeutic benefits for treating ONDs. This study investigates the relationship between ULR and clinical outcomes in patients with cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST).Patients and Methods: A total of 636 patients with CVST were included in the study and randomly divided into a training set (n = 445) and a testing set (n = 119) in a ratio of 7:3.Logistic regression analysis was employed to analyze the risk factors for poor outcomes. The nomogram was established using the training dataset, and its predictive performance was assessed with the testing dataset.Results: ULR accurately predicted poor outcomes in CVST and was linked to a higher likelihood of poor outcomes (OR=1.015, 95% CI: 1.003– 1.026, P = 0.013). Age, infection, intracranial hypertension, coma, and intracerebral hemorrhage were independent predictors of poor outcomes in CVST. Additionally, a new nomogram incorporating ULR was constructed to predict the risk of poor outcomes in CVST patients. The nomogram demonstrated good accuracy and reliability, as shown by the receiver operating characteristic curve, calibration curve, and decision curve analysis.Conclusion: ULR independently forecasted poor outcomes in patients with CVST. 36. Sub-SQL electronic field sensing by simultaneously using quantum entanglements and squeezings

Abstract: Quantum entanglement and quantum squeezing are two most typical approaches to beat the standard quantum limit (SQL) of the sensitive phase estimations in quantum metrology. Each of them has already been utilized individually to improve the sensitivity of electric field sensing with the trapped ion platform, but the upper bound of the demonstrated sensitivity gain is very limited, i.e., the experimental 3dB and theoretical 6dB, over the SQL. Here, by simultaneously using the internal (spin)-external (oscillator) state entanglements and the oscillator squeezings to effectively amplify the accumulation phase, we show that these sensitivity gains can be effectively surpassed. Hopefully, the proposal provides a novel approach to the stronger beaten of the SQL for the sensitive sensings of the desired electric field and also the other metrologies.

Abstract: We perform correlation and periodicity search analyses on long-term multi-band light curves of the FSRQ 1510-089 observed by the space-based Fermi--Large Area Telescope in gamma-rays, the SMARTS and Steward Observatory telescopes in optical and near-infrared (NIR) and the 13.7 m radio telescope in Metsahovi Radio Observatory between 2008 and 2018. The z-transform discrete correlation function method is applied to study the correlation and possible time lags among these multi band light curves. Among all pairs of wavelengths, the gamma-ray vs. optical/NIR and optical vs. NIR correlations show zero time lags; however, both the gamma-ray and optical/NIR emissions precede the radio radiation. The Generalized Lomb-Scargle periodogram, Weighted Wavelet Z-transform, and REDFIT techniques are employed to investigate the unresolved-core-emission dominated 37 GHz light curve and yield evidence for a quasi-period around 1540 days, although given the length of the whole data set it cannot be claimed to be significant. Abstract: In this work, we successfully applied the Fray-Farthing-Chen Cambridge electro-reduction process on the preparation of chromium from chromium oxide, and for the first time, the synthesis of ferrochromium alloy from chromium oxide and iron oxide mixture and the chromite ore in molten calcium chloride. The present work systematically investigated the influences of sintered temperature of the solid precursor, electrochemical potential, electrolysis temperature and time on the products by using a set of advanced characterization techniques, including XRD and SEM/EDS analyses. In particular, our results show that this process is energy-friendly and technically-feasible for the direct extraction of ferrochromium alloy from chromite ore. Our findings thus provide useful insights for designing a novel green process to produce ferrochromium alloy from low-grade chromite ore or stainless steel slag.

Abstract: The Lobster Eye Imager for Astronomy (LEIA), a pathfinder of the Wide-field X-ray Telescope of the Einstein Probe (EP) mission, was successfully launched onboard the SATech-01 satellite of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on 27 July 2022. In this paper, we introduce the design and on-ground test results of the LEIA instrument. Using state-of-the-art Micro-Pore Optics (MPO), a wide field-of-view (FoV) of 346 square degrees (18.6 degrees * 18.6 degrees) of the X-ray imager is realized. An optical assembly composed of 36 MPO chips is used to focus incident X-ray photons, and four large-format complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensors, each of 6 cm * 6 cm, are used as the focal plane detectors. The instrument has an angular resolution of 4 - 8 arcmin (in FWHM) for the central focal spot of the point spread function, and an effective area of 2 - 3 cm2 at 1 keV in essentially all the directions within the field of view. The detection passband is 0.5 - 4 keV in the soft X-rays and the sensitivity is 2 - 3 * 10-11 erg s-1 cm-2 (about 1 mini-Crab) at 1,000 second observation. The total weight of LEIA is 56 kg and the power is 85 W. The satellite, with a design lifetime of 2 years, operates in a Sun-synchronous orbit of 500 km with an orbital period of 95 minutes. LEIA is paving the way for future missions by verifying in flight the technologies of both novel focusing imaging optics and CMOS sensors for X-ray observation, and by optimizing the working setups of the instrumental parameters. Abstract: A simple and efficient method for preparation of SiAlON ceramics including β-SiAlON, O'-SiAlON and AlN polytypoid (15R and 12H) using reduction-nitridation of coal gangue and reducing agents at 1800K for 6h was described. The phase transformation of SiAlON at various atmospheres was discussed from thermodynamic and experimental analysis. Thermodynamic calculation revealed that different SiAlON phases could be synthesized at 1800K with the suitable atmosphere parameter Y (Y = lg(PO2 /ρθ)--3 2 lg(PN2 / ρθ)). Low Y value was beneficial to synthesis of β-SiAlON. The experimental result showed that β-SiAlON ceramics with the content of 90% was fabricated at strong reductive atmosphere in flowing nitrogen. O'-SiAlON with the content of 85% can be synthesized in flowing nitrogen atmosphere. In view of AlN polytypoid, the suitable condition to produce 15R was flowing nitrogen and 12H was formed at a weak reductive atmosphere. The mechanical properties of SiAlON ceramics synthesized under optimum conditions, i.e., modules of rupture (MOR) at room temperature, have been reported.

Abstract: T91 samples were exposed to static liquid lead-bismuth eutectic (LBE) at 700{\deg}C for 250-500 hours in either an oxidising or reducing environment. Corrosion damage was characterised using electron microscopy techniques, which identified networks of LBE intrusion beneath LBE-wetted surfaces. Under reducing conditions these networks are uniformly distributed, while they appear patchier and deeper under oxidising conditions. The individual intrusions preferentially follow microstructural features, initially along prior-austenite grain boundaries, followed by penetration down martensite lath boundaries. 50. Preparation of polymeric aluminium ferric chloride from bauxite tailings

Abstract: Bauxite tailings are the main solid wastes in the ore dressing process. The Al2O3 and Fe2O3 contents in bauxite tailings can reach 50% and 13% respectively. The present study proposed a feasible method to use bauxite tailings to prepare polymeric aluminium ferric chloride (PAFC), a new composite inorganic polymer for water purification. Bauxite tailings roasted reacting with hydrochloric acid under air, pickle liquor which mainly contains Fe3+, Al3+ was generated, then calcium aluminate was used to adjust pH value and the basicity of the pickle liquor, the PAFC was subsequently prepared after the polymerization process. The optimal synthesizing parameters for the preparation of PAFC obtained were as follows: the concentration of hydrochloric acid of 24 wt%, ratio of hydrochloric acid to bauxite tailings of 6:1, temperature of 90ºC, leaching time of 2.5 hours, ration of pickle liquor to calcium aluminate of 12:1, polymerization temperature of 90ºC and polymerization time of about 3 hours. The basicity of PAFC was higher than 68%, the sum concentration of Al2O3 and Fe2O3 was beyond 12.5%. The results of flocculation tests indicate that the PAFC has a better performance of removing the turbidity of wastewater compared to PAC, and PAFC prepared by bauxite tailings is a kind of high quality flocculants.
