Abstract

The accuracy of thickness measurement is not high or the measurement method is too complicated at present. It is of great significance to design a set of high-precision thickness measurement device with simple operation, high efficiency, non-destructive measurement and wide application range. In this paper, a high-precision thickness measurement system is developed by using 241Am radioactive source and cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) detector, and a measurement condition compensation method is proposed to achieve non-destructive and high-precision online measurement of samples. The Geant4 program package is used to simulate the design of a high-precision thickness measurement system, and the influence of key parameters such as the size of the collimation hole, the relative position of the source and the detector, and the thickness of the shielding layer are determined. Use the built high-precision thickness measurement system to measure samples such as paper, circular truncated cone sample, ceramics and high-speed steel. The experimental results show that the system can achieve high-efficiency, online thickness measurement when the thickness accuracy is on the order of 100 microns; when the measurement accuracy is required to increase, high-precision measurement can be achieved by extending the measurement time and using the measurement condition compensation method., for example, for a material with a thickness of 1 mm, the measurement accuracy can reach 1 μm; at the same time, the system works stably for a long time, and the relative standard deviation within 24 h is about 0.057%.

Abstract

Characterization of pore systems is a key to better understand the heterogeneity of reservoir quality. However, the complicated pore types and pore facies of carbonates in the Hartha Formation of X Oilfield remain poorly understood. In this study, we recognized pore types and explored the impact of depositional environment and diagenetic alterations on pore facies and reservoir heterogeneity. Six types and nine subtypes of pore facies displaying various physical properties and fossils are classified based on the proportion of depositional pores, fabric‐ and non‐fabric‐selective pores. The distribution of pore facies are controlled by the interaction between depositional environment and diagenesis: (i) the depositional environment has an impact on the primary pore types mainly through different lithology and fossils. Micro‐interparticle pores and intraparticle pores of foraminifera are dominated in lagoon, middle ramp and outer ramp, while interparticle pores between grains are dominated in rudist shoal. Rocks deposited in medium‐ to low‐energy shoal contain interparticle pores between grains, micro‐interparticle pores and intraparticle pores of foraminifera. (ii) Major diagenetic events that modify pore types include micritization, fabric‐selective dissolution, cementation, compaction and non‐fabric‐selective dissolution. Micritization facilitates the development of micro‐interparticle pores, while compaction can cause the loss of interparticle pores between grains and micro‐interparticle pores. Cementation destroys not only interparticle pores between grains but also intraparticle pores of foraminifera. Fabric‐ and non‐fabric‐selective dissolution are the main causes for increasing the volume of pores. (iii) The intensity of the diagenetic event is linked to rock composition, rock fabric and palaeotopography that are controlled by depositional environment. Abstract

In this study, the effects of microwave power, vacuum degree and load weight on the moisture content of seedless white grapes (Vitis vinifera L.) during microwave vacuum drying were investigated. The result found that during microwave vacuum drying, the effective moisture diffusivity (Deff) of seedless white grapes ranged between 1.0232 × 10−9 and 4.6354 × 10−9 m2/s. The Deff values increased with the increase in the microwave power and the decrease in the load weight, the vacuum degree played a relatively minor role. The kinetics of moisture ratio and drying time were established, with the drying process following the Page model, as reflected by the fitting between model-predicted and measured data. The Page model was demonstrated to precisely describe and predict the moisture content variation in seedless white grapes during microwave vacuum drying.

Abstract

As a recent swarm-based intelligent optimization algorithm, Pigeon Inspired Optimization (PIO), is motivated by the natural bio-mechanism of pigeons for their superior skills in destination finding and navigating. The standard PIO has been successfully implemented to solve complex optimization problems. Similar to other swarm intelligent techniques, PIO is suitable to solve global optimization problems for its robustness in adapting to dynamic environments, where the convergence rate is generally limited, since the algorithm does not employ much local information to establish a most promising direction for optima searching. In this paper, we propose a novel hybridized optimization algorithm, Nelder-Mead Pigeon Inspired Optimization (NMPIO), incorporating the global optimization ability of PIO and the capability of fast local convergent of the Nelder-Mead Simplex method. With the implementation of synthesizing a bio-inspired optimization algorithm and a direct local search method, feasible global optimal solution can be found with a faster convergence rate, compared with the original PIO algorithm. Numerical experiments for several well-known benchmarks are conducted to study the performance of this algorithm. The results reveal that our hybridization strategy is effective and efficient for solving global optimization problems.

50. Endocrine Characteristics and Regulatory Mechanism of Follicular Development and Ovulation Failure in Mammalian Ovary

Abstract

In mammals, the follicular development and following ovulation are regulated by reproductive hormones, while polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disorder syndrome with reproductive dysfunction and abnormal glucose metabolism in most PCOS women. Its characteristics are hyperandrogenism, ovarian dysfunction, and the exclusion of other androgen excess or related diseases. Its clinical characteristics are large antral follicle pool from which to recruit and persistent anovulation. The incidence of PCOS in women of childbearing age ranged from 4 to 12%. About one-third of infertility cases had no ovulation, and 90% of them had PCOS. Therefore, further studying the regulatory mechanism of follicular hyperrecruitment and anovulation can provide theoretical basis for exploring the pathogenesis of PCOS and guiding clinical treatment, especially for protecting female fertility and preventing the occurrence of metabolic disorder syndrome. The present article will review the progress in endocrine characteristics and regulatory mechanism of follicular development and ovulation failure in the mammalian ovary.
