7. Visual analysis of domestic and international hotspots of nutritional research in children with tumors

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the literatures related to the nutrition of children with tumors at home and abroad, and sort out the current status, hotspots and frontiers of the research in this field, so as to provide a theoretical basis and reference for relevant research in China. Methods: The Web of Science and CNKI were searched for literatures related to nutrition of pediatric tumor patients since its establishment, and CiteSpace 6.1.R6 software was applied to visualize and analyze the nodes of countries, institutions and keywords. Results: A total of 53 articles in Chinese and 204 in English were included, with fluctuating upward trends in the number of publications. The largest number of publications with the strongest centrality was from the United States, and China was not ranked. Domestic publications were mainly from university-affiliated medical institutions, with Beijing Childrens Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University having the largest number of publications. Foreign publications were mainly from universities and medical institutions, with McMaster University and St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital having the largest number of publications. The main directions of domestic researchs were nutritional status and malnutrition, and the hot populations were children with malignant tumors and hematological tumors. The main directions of foreign researchs were nutritional status, malnutrition and body composition analysis, and the hot populations were children receiving chemotherapy or acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Conclusion: Through CiteSpace software to visualize the hotspots of children's oncology nutrition research at home and abroad directly, the relevant foreign researchs are more mature than the domestic, which can provide reference for researchers in China.

20. Machine: The New Art Connoisseur

Abstract

The process of identifying and understanding art styles to discover artistic influences is essential to the study of art history. Traditionally, trained experts review fine details of the works and compare them to other known works. To automate and scale this task, we use several state-of-the-art CNN architectures to explore how a machine may help perceive and quantify art styles. This study explores: (1) How accurately can a machine classify art styles? (2) What may be the underlying relationships among different styles and artists? To help answer the first question, our best-performing model using Inception V3 achieves a 9-class classification accuracy of 88.35%, which outperforms the model in Elgammal et al.'s study by more than 20 percent. Visualizations using Grad-CAM heat maps confirm that the model correctly focuses on the characteristic parts of paintings. To help address the second question, we conduct network analysis on the influences among styles and artists by extracting 512 features from the best-performing classification model. Through 2D and 3D T-SNE visualizations, we observe clear chronological patterns of development and separation among the art styles. The network analysis also appears to show anticipated artist level connections from an art historical perspective. This technique appears to help identify some previously unknown linkages that may shed light upon new directions for further exploration by art historians. We hope that humans and machines working in concert may bring new opportunities to the field.

Abstract

Studying the mechanical properties and failure mechanisms of damaged rocks holds practical significance in guiding tunnel or roadway support and assessing the stability of engineering rock masses. To uncover the failure mechanisms of sandy mudstone with varying degrees of damage, we conducted cyclic loading‐unloading tests to create specimens at different damage levels. Subsequently, uniaxial loading tests were performed to investigate the fundamental mechanical properties, wave velocity, and acoustic emission (AE) parameter evolution characteristics of the damaged specimens. The classification of damaged rocks was based on the energy evolution characteristics of damaged sandy mudstone. Finally, we discuss the damage and deterioration mechanisms of different types of sandy mudstone. The findings contribute to establishing a theoretical foundation for evaluating the degree of rock damage. Highlights: The damage degree of rocks was calculated according to the dissipated energy.The response characteristics of AE parameters of damage samples were revealed.The classification of damaged samples is based on the mechanical parameters. Abstract

Since the protocol for counterfactual quantum communication was proposed, complete counterfactuality can be achieved as there are no physical particles in the transmission channel. However, it relies on some restrictive factors, such as requiring an infinite number of beam splitters and no degradation. We conducted numerical simulations to assess the reliability of quantum communication combined with the actual test environment and found that the inevitable degradation, including component losses or path losses, limits the number of beam splitters. Furthermore, we carried out the experimental simulation of a high-reliability direct communication protocol using the method of controllable-signal attenuation. The peak reliability of μ 1 = 27.6 ± 0.22 that was obtained was much higher than the current communication protocol of the chained interferometer system. The optimized experimental equipment could compensate the system's balance under various restrictive conditions and make it possible to achieve 100% reliability with imperfect interferometers.
