Nonreciprocal superconductivity, also called as superconducting diode effect that spontaneously breaks time-reversal symmetry, is characterized by asymmetric critical currents under opposite applied current directions. This distinct state unveils a rich ore of intriguing physical properties, particularly in the realm of nanoscience application of superconductors. Towards the experimental realization of superconducting diode effect, the construction of two-dimensional heterostructures of magnets and $s$-wave superconductors is considered to be a promising pathway. In this study, we present our findings of superconducting diode effect manifested in the magnetic Mott insulator $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$. This phenomenon is induced by the proximity effect within a van der Waals heterostructure, consisting of thin $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$/NbSe$_2$ flakes. Through transport property measurements, we have confirmed a weak superconducting gap of 0.2 meV, which is significantly lower than the intrinsic gap of NbSe$_2$(1.2 meV). Upon the application of a weak magnetic field below 70 mT, we observed an asymmetry in the critical currents under positive and negative applied currents. This observation demonstrates a typical superconducting diode effect in the superconducting $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$. The superconducting diode effect and nonreciprocal resistance are observed exclusively when the magnetic field is aligned out-of-plane. This suggests that an Ising-type spin-orbit coupling in the superconducting $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$ may be responsible for the mechanism. Our findings furnish a platform for the exploration of superconducting diode effect via the artificial construction of heterostructures.

We construct the phase space of a spherically symmetric causal diamond in $(d+2)$-dimensional Minkowski spacetime. Utilizing the covariant phase space formalism, we identify the relevant degrees of freedom that localize to the $d$-dimensional bifurcate horizon and, upon canonical quantization, determine their commutators. On this phase space, we find two Iyer-Wald charges. The first of these charges, proportional to the area of the causal diamond, is responsible for shifting the null time along the horizon and has been well-documented in the literature. The second charge is much less understood, being integrable for $d \geq 2$ only if we allow for field-dependent diffeomorphisms and is responsible for changing the size of the causal diamond., Comment: 9 pages, 2 figures

Large Language Models (LLMs), like GPT, have demonstrated the ability to understand graph structures and have achieved excellent performance in various graph reasoning tasks, such as node classification. Despite their strong abilities in graph reasoning tasks, they lack specific domain knowledge and have a weaker understanding of community-related graph information, which hinders their capabilities in the community detection task. Moreover, local community detection algorithms based on seed expansion, referred to as seed expansion algorithms, often face the seed-dependent problem, community diffusion, and free rider effect. To use LLMs to overcome the above shortcomings, we explore a GPT-guided seed expansion algorithm named ComGPT. ComGPT iteratively selects potential nodes by local modularity M from the detected community's neighbors, and subsequently employs LLMs to choose the node to join the detected community from these selected potential nodes. To address the above issues faced by LLMs, we improve graph encoding method, called Incident, by incorporating community knowledge to improve LLMs's understanding of community-related graph information. Additionally, we design the NSG (Node Selection Guide) prompt to enhance LLMs' understanding of community characteristics. Experimental results demonstrate that ComGPT outperforms the comparison methods, thereby confirming the effectiveness of the improved graph encoding method and prompts.

Large language models (LLMs) have seen rapid improvement in the recent years, and have been used in a wider range of applications. After being trained on large text corpus, LLMs obtain the capability of extracting rich features from textual data. Such capability is potentially useful for the web service recommendation task, where the web users and services have intrinsic attributes that can be described using natural language sentences and are useful for recommendation. In this paper, we explore the possibility and practicality of using LLMs for web service recommendation. We propose the large language model aided QoS prediction (llmQoS) model, which use LLMs to extract useful information from attributes of web users and services via descriptive sentences. This information is then used in combination with the QoS values of historical interactions of users and services, to predict QoS values for any given user-service pair. On the WSDream dataset, llmQoS is shown to overcome the data sparsity issue inherent to the QoS prediction problem, and outperforms comparable baseline models consistently.

Optical frequency combs play a crucial role in optical communications, time-frequency metrology, precise ranging, and sensing. Among various generation schemes, resonant electro-optic combs are particularly attractive for its excellent stability, flexibility and broad bandwidths. In this approach, an optical pump undergoes multiple electro-optic modulation processes in a high-Q optical resonator, resulting in cascaded spectral sidebands. However, most resonant electro-optic combs to date make use of lumped-capacitor electrodes with relatively inefficient utilization of the input electrical power. This design also reflects most electrical power back to the driving circuits and necessitates costly RF isolators in between, presenting substantial challenges in practical applications. To address these issues, we present an RF circuit friendly electro-optic frequency comb generator incorporated with on-chip coplanar microwave resonator electrodes, based on a thin-film lithium niobate platform. Our design achieves more than three times electrical power reduction with minimal reflection at the designed comb repetition rate of ~ 25 GHz. We experimentally demonstrate broadband electro-optic frequency comb generation with a comb span of >85 nm at a moderate electrical driving power of 740 mW (28.7 dBm). Our power-efficient and isolator-free electro-optic comb source could offer compact, low-cost and simple-to-design solution for applications in spectroscopy, high-precise metrology, optical communications.

Self-supervised learning (SSL) has recently attracted significant attention in the field of recommender systems. Contrastive learning (CL) stands out as a major SSL paradigm due to its robust ability to generate self-supervised signals. Mainstream graph contrastive learning (GCL)-based methods typically implement CL by creating contrastive views through various data augmentation techniques. Despite these methods are effective, we argue that there still exist several challenges: i) Data augmentation (e.g., discarding edges or adding noise) necessitates additional graph convolution (GCN) or modeling operations, which are highly time-consuming and potentially harm the embedding quality. ii) Existing CL-based methods use traditional CL objectives to capture self-supervised signals. However, few studies have explored obtaining CL objectives from more perspectives and have attempted to fuse the varying signals from these CL objectives to enhance recommendation performance. To overcome these challenges, we propose a High-Order Fusion Graph Contrastive Learning (HFGCL) framework for recommendation. Specifically, we discards the data augmentations and instead high-order information from GCN process to create contrastive views. Additionally, to integrate self-supervised signals from various CL objectives, we propose an advanced CL objective. By ensuring that positive pairs are distanced from negative samples derived from both contrastive views, we effectively fuse self-supervised signals from distinct CL objectives, thereby enhancing the mutual information between positive pairs. Experimental results on three public datasets demonstrate the superior effectiveness of HFGCL compared to the state-of-the-art baselines.

Contrastive Learning (CL)-based recommender systems have gained prominence in the context of Heterogeneous Graph (HG) due to their capacity to enhance the consistency of representations across different views. However, existing frameworks often neglect the fact that user-item interactions within HG are governed by diverse latent intents (e.g., brand preferences or demographic characteristics of item audiences), which are pivotal in capturing fine-grained relations. The exploration of these underlying intents, particularly through the lens of meta-paths in HGs, presents us with two principal challenges: i) How to integrate CL with intents; ii) How to mitigate noise from meta-path-driven intents. To address these challenges, we propose an innovative framework termed Intent-guided Heterogeneous Graph Contrastive Learning (IHGCL), which designed to enhance CL-based recommendation by capturing the intents contained within meta-paths. Specifically, the IHGCL framework includes: i) a meta-path-based Dual Contrastive Learning (DCL) approach to effectively integrate intents into the recommendation, constructing intent-intent contrast and intent-interaction contrast; ii) a Bottlenecked AutoEncoder (BAE) that combines mask propagation with the information bottleneck principle to significantly reduce noise perturbations introduced by meta-paths. Empirical evaluations conducted across six distinct datasets demonstrate the superior performance of our IHGCL framework relative to conventional baseline methods. Deep & Cross Network and its derivative models have become an important paradigm for click-through rate (CTR) prediction due to their effective balance between computational cost and performance. However, these models face four major limitations: (1) the performance of existing explicit feature interaction methods is often weaker than that of implicit deep neural network (DNN), undermining their necessity; (2) many models fail to adaptively filter noise while increasing the order of feature interactions; (3) the fusion methods of most models cannot provide suitable supervision signals for their different sub-networks; (4) while most models claim to capture high-order feature interactions, they often do so implicitly and non-interpretably through DNN, which limits the trustworthiness of the model's predictions. To address the identified limitations, this paper proposes the next generation deep cross network: Deep Cross Network v3 (DCNv3), along with its two sub-networks: Linear Cross Network (LCN) and Exponential Cross Network (ECN) for CTR prediction. DCNv3 ensures interpretability in feature interaction modeling while linearly and exponentially increasing the order of feature interactions to achieve genuine Deep Crossing rather than just Deep & Cross. Additionally, we employ a Self-Mask operation to filter noise and reduce the number of parameters in the Cross Network by half. In the fusion layer, we use a simple yet effective multi-loss trade-off and calculation method, called Tri-BCE, to provide appropriate supervision signals. Comprehensive experiments on six datasets demonstrate the effectiveness, efficiency, and interpretability of DCNv3. Medical image synthesis remains challenging due to misalignment noise during training. Existing methods have attempted to address this challenge by incorporating a registration-guided module. However, these methods tend to overlook the task-specific constraints on the synthetic and registration modules, which may cause the synthetic module to still generate spatially aligned images with misaligned target images during training, regardless of the registration module's function. Therefore, this paper proposes registration-guided consistency and incorporates disentanglement learning for medical image synthesis. The proposed registration-guided consistency architecture fosters task-specificity within the synthetic and registration modules by applying identical deformation fields before and after synthesis, while enforcing output consistency through an alignment loss. Moreover, the synthetic module is designed to possess the capability of disentangling anatomical structures and specific styles across various modalities. An anatomy consistency loss is introduced to further compel the synthetic module to preserve geometrical integrity within latent spaces. Experiments conducted on both an in-house abdominal CECT-CT dataset and a publicly available pelvic MR-CT dataset have demonstrated the superiority of the proposed method.

The terahertz (THz) frequency range, bridging the gap between microwave and infrared frequencies, presents unparalleled opportunities for advanced imaging, sensing, communications, and spectroscopy applications. Terahertz photonics, in analogy with microwave photonics, is a promising solution to address the critical challenges in THz technologies through optical methods. Despite its vast potential, key technical challenges remain in effectively interfacing THz signals with the optical domain, especially THz-optic modulation and optical generation of THz waves. Here, we address these challenges using a monolithic integrated photonic chip designed to support efficient bidirectional interaction between THz and optical waves. Leveraging the significant second-order optical nonlinearity and strong optical and THz confinement in a thin-film lithium niobate on quartz platform, the chip supports both efficient THz-optic modulation and continuous THz wave generation at up to 500 GHz. The THz-optic modulator features a radio frequency (RF) half-wave voltage of 8V at 500 GHz, representing more than an order of magnitude reduction in modulation power consumption from previous works. The measured continuous wave THz generation efficiency of 4.8*10-6 /W at 500 GHz also marks a tenfold improvement over existing tunable THz generation devices based on lithium niobate. We further leverage the coherent nature of the optical THz generation process and mature optical modulation techniques to realize high-speed electro-THz modulation at frequencies up to 35 GHz. The chip-scale THz-photonic platform paves the way for more compact, efficient, and cost-effective THz systems with potential applications in THz communications, remote sensing, and spectroscopy.

Optical vector analysis (OVA) is an enabling technology for comprehensively characterizing both amplitude and phase responses of optical devices or systems. Conventional OVA technologies are mostly based on discrete optoelectronic components, leading to unsatisfactory system sizes, complexity, and stability. They also encounter challenges in revealing the on-chip characteristics of integrated photonic devices, which are often overwhelmed by the substantial coupling loss and extra spectral response at chip facets. In this work, we demonstrate a miniaturized OVA system for integrated photonics devices based on broadband single sideband (SSB) modulators on a thin-film lithium niobate (LN) platform. The OVA could provide a direct probe of both amplitude and phase responses of photonic devices with kHz-level resolution and tens of terahertz measurement bandwidth. We perform in-situ characterizations of single and coupled microring resonators fabricated on the same chip as the OVA, unfolding their intrinsic loss and coupling states unambiguously. Furthermore, we achieve the direct measurement of collective phase dynamics and density of states of the Bloch modes in a synthetic frequency crystal, by in-situ OVA of a dynamically modulated microring resonator. Our in-situ OVA system provides a compact, high-precision, and broadband solution for characterizing future integrated photonic devices and circuits, with potential applications ranging from optical communications, biosensing, neuromorphic computing, to quantum information processing.

Intent modeling has attracted widespread attention in recommender systems. As the core motivation behind user selection of items, intent is crucial for elucidating recommendation results. The current mainstream modeling method is to abstract the intent into unknowable but learnable shared or non-shared parameters. Despite considerable progress, we argue that it still confronts the following challenges: firstly, these methods only capture the coarse-grained aspects of intent, ignoring the fact that user-item interactions will be affected by collective and individual factors (e.g., a user may choose a movie because of its high box office or because of his own unique preferences); secondly, modeling believable intent is severely hampered by implicit feedback, which is incredibly sparse and devoid of true semantics. To address these challenges, we propose a novel recommendation framework designated as Bilateral Intent-guided Graph Collaborative Filtering (BIGCF). Specifically, we take a closer look at user-item interactions from a causal perspective and put forth the concepts of individual intent-which signifies private preferences-and collective intent-which denotes overall awareness. To counter the sparsity of implicit feedback, the feature distributions of users and items are encoded via a Gaussian-based graph generation strategy, and we implement the recommendation process through bilateral intent-guided graph reconstruction re-sampling. Finally, we propose graph contrastive regularization for both interaction and intent spaces to uniformize users, items, intents, and interactions in a self-supervised and non-augmented paradigm. Social recommendation leverages social network to complement user-item interaction data for recommendation task, aiming to mitigate the data sparsity issue in recommender systems. However, existing social recommendation methods encounter the following challenge: both social network and interaction data contain substaintial noise, and the propagation of such noise through Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) not only fails to enhance recommendation performance but may also interfere with the model's normal training. Despite the importance of denoising for social network and interaction data, only a limited number of studies have considered the denoising for social network and all of them overlook that for interaction data, hindering the denoising effect and recommendation performance. Based on this, we propose a novel model called Dual-domain Collaborative Denoising for Social Recommendation ($\textbf{DCDSR}$). DCDSR comprises two primary modules: the structure-level collaborative denoising module and the embedding-space collaborative denoising module. In the structure-level collaborative denoising module, information from interaction domain is first employed to guide social network denoising. Subsequently, the denoised social network is used to supervise the denoising for interaction data. The embedding-space collaborative denoising module devotes to resisting the noise cross-domain diffusion problem through contrastive learning with dual-domain embedding collaborative perturbation. Additionally, a novel contrastive learning strategy, named Anchor-InfoNCE, is introduced to better harness the denoising capability of contrastive learning. Effective feature interaction modeling is critical for enhancing the accuracy of click-through rate (CTR) prediction in industrial recommender systems. Most of the current deep CTR models resort to building complex network architectures to better capture intricate feature interactions or user behaviors. However, we identify two limitations in these models: (1) the samples given to the model are undifferentiated, which may lead the model to learn a larger number of easy samples in a single-minded manner while ignoring a smaller number of hard samples, thus reducing the model's generalization ability; (2) differentiated feature interaction encoders are designed to capture different interactions information but receive consistent supervision signals, thereby limiting the effectiveness of the encoder. To bridge the identified gaps, this paper introduces a novel CTR prediction framework by integrating the plug-and-play Twin Focus (TF) Loss, Sample Selection Embedding Module (SSEM), and Dynamic Fusion Module (DFM), named the Twin Focus Framework for CTR (TF4CTR). Specifically, the framework employs the SSEM at the bottom of the model to differentiate between samples, thereby assigning a more suitable encoder for each sample. Meanwhile, the TF Loss provides tailored supervision signals to both simple and complex encoders. Moreover, the DFM dynamically fuses the feature interaction information captured by the encoders, resulting in more accurate predictions. Experiments on five real-world datasets confirm the effectiveness and compatibility of the framework, demonstrating its capacity to enhance various representative baselines in a model-agnostic manner. Superior to ferromagnetic (FM) materials, antiferromagnetic (AFM) materials do not have any net magnetic moment and are robust to external magnetic perturbation with ultra-high dynamic speed. To achieve spontaneous valley polarization and anomalous valley Hall effect (AVHE) in AFM materials is of great significance for potential applications in spintronics and valleytronics. Here, we predict an A-type AFM monolayer $\mathrm{Fe_2CF_2}$ with large spontaneous valley polarization. Monolayer $\mathrm{Fe_2CF_2}$ has zero Berry curvature in momentum space but non-zero layer-locked hidden Berry curvature in real space, which provides the basic conditions for the realization of AVHE. Because $\mathrm{Fe_2CF_2}$ possesses the combined symmetry ($PT$ symmetry) of spatial inversion ($P$) and time reversal ($T$) symmetry, the spin is degenerate, which prevents the AVHE. An out-of-plane external electric field can be used to produce spin splitting due to the introduction of layer-dependent electrostatic potential, and then layer-locked AVHE can be realized in $\mathrm{Fe_2CF_2}$. Moreover, the spin order of spin splitting can be reversed, when the direction of electric field is reversed. It is proved that the AVHE can be achieved in Janus $\mathrm{Fe_2CFCl}$ without external electric field due to intrinsic built-in electric field. Our works provide an AFM monolayer with excellent properties to realize AVHE.

Heterogeneous Graphs (HGs) can effectively model complex relationships in the real world by multi-type nodes and edges. In recent years, inspired by self-supervised learning, contrastive Heterogeneous Graphs Neural Networks (HGNNs) have shown great potential by utilizing data augmentation and contrastive discriminators for downstream tasks. However, data augmentation is still limited due to the graph data's integrity. Furthermore, the contrastive discriminators remain sampling bias and lack local heterogeneous information. To tackle the above limitations, we propose a novel Generative-Enhanced Heterogeneous Graph Contrastive Learning (GHGCL). Specifically, we first propose a heterogeneous graph generative learning enhanced contrastive paradigm. This paradigm includes: 1) A contrastive view augmentation strategy by using a masked autoencoder. 2) Position-aware and semantics-aware positive sample sampling strategy for generating hard negative samples. 3) A hierarchical contrastive learning strategy for capturing local and global information. Furthermore, the hierarchical contrastive learning and sampling strategies aim to constitute an enhanced contrastive discriminator under the generative-contrastive perspective. Finally, we compare our model with seventeen baselines on eight real-world datasets. Our model outperforms the latest contrastive and generative baselines on node classification and link prediction tasks. We study a correspondence between gravitational shockwave geometry and its fluid description near a Rindler horizon in Minkowski spacetime. Utilizing the Petrov classification that describes algebraic symmetries for Lorentzian spaces, we establish an explicit mapping between a potential fluid and the shockwave metric perturbation, where the Einstein equation for the shockwave geometry is equivalent to the incompressibility condition of the fluid, augmented by a shockwave source. Then we consider an Ansatz of a stochastic quantum source for the potential fluid, which has the physical interpretation of shockwaves created by vacuum energy fluctuations. Under such circumstance, the Einstein equation, or equivalently, the incompressibility condition for the fluid, becomes a stochastic differential equation. By smearing the quantum source on a stretched horizon in a Lorentz invariant manner with a Planckian width (similarly to the membrane paradigm), we integrate fluctuations near the Rindler horizon to find an accumulated effect of the variance in the round-trip time of a photon traversing the horizon of a causal diamond., Comment: 21 pages, 1 figure

Radiation therapy plays a crucial role in cancer treatment, necessitating precise delivery of radiation to tumors while sparing healthy tissues over multiple days. Computed tomography (CT) is integral for treatment planning, offering electron density data crucial for accurate dose calculations. However, accurately representing patient anatomy is challenging, especially in adaptive radiotherapy, where CT is not acquired daily. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provides superior soft-tissue contrast. Still, it lacks electron density information while cone beam CT (CBCT) lacks direct electron density calibration and is mainly used for patient positioning. Adopting MRI-only or CBCT-based adaptive radiotherapy eliminates the need for CT planning but presents challenges. Synthetic CT (sCT) generation techniques aim to address these challenges by using image synthesis to bridge the gap between MRI, CBCT, and CT. The SynthRAD2023 challenge was organized to compare synthetic CT generation methods using multi-center ground truth data from 1080 patients, divided into two tasks: 1) MRI-to-CT and 2) CBCT-to-CT. The evaluation included image similarity and dose-based metrics from proton and photon plans. The challenge attracted significant participation, with 617 registrations and 22/17 valid submissions for tasks 1/2. Top-performing teams achieved high structural similarity indices (>0.87/0.90) and gamma pass rates for photon (>98.1%/99.0%) and proton (>97.3%/97.0%) plans. However, no significant correlation was found between image similarity metrics and dose accuracy, emphasizing the need for dose evaluation when assessing the clinical applicability of sCT. The significance of the superconducting diode effect lies in its potential application as a fundamental component in the development of next-generation superconducting circuit technology. The stringent operating conditions at low temperatures have posed challenges for the conventional semiconductor diode, primarily due to its exceptionally high resistivity. In response to this limitation, various approaches have emerged to achieve the superconducting diode effect, primarily involving the disruption of inversion symmetry in a two-dimensional superconductor through heterostructure fabrication. In this study, we present a direct observation of the supercurrent diode effect in a NbSe2 nanobridge with a length of approximately 15 nm, created using focused helium ion beam fabrication. Nonreciprocal supercurrents were identified, reaching a peak value of approximately 380 $\mu$A for each bias polarity at $B_{z}^{max} =\pm 0.2$ mT. Notably, the nonreciprocal supercurrent can be toggled by altering the bias polarity. This discovery of the superconducting diode effect introduces a novel avenue and mechanism through nanofabrication on a superconducting flake, offering fresh perspectives for the development of superconducting devices and potential circuits.

Large Language Models (LLMs) have emerged as a transformative power in enhancing natural language comprehension, representing a significant stride toward artificial general intelligence. The application of LLMs extends beyond conventional linguistic boundaries, encompassing specialized linguistic systems developed within various scientific disciplines. This growing interest has led to the advent of scientific LLMs, a novel subclass specifically engineered for facilitating scientific discovery. As a burgeoning area in the community of AI for Science, scientific LLMs warrant comprehensive exploration. However, a systematic and up-to-date survey introducing them is currently lacking. In this paper, we endeavor to methodically delineate the concept of "scientific language", whilst providing a thorough review of the latest advancements in scientific LLMs. Given the expansive realm of scientific disciplines, our analysis adopts a focused lens, concentrating on the biological and chemical domains. This includes an in-depth examination of LLMs for textual knowledge, small molecules, macromolecular proteins, genomic sequences, and their combinations, analyzing them in terms of model architectures, capabilities, datasets, and evaluation. Finally, we critically examine the prevailing challenges and point out promising research directions along with the advances of LLMs. By offering a comprehensive overview of technical developments in this field, this survey aspires to be an invaluable resource for researchers navigating the intricate landscape of scientific LLMs.

Nonreciprocal charge transport in heterostructural superconductors exhibits appealing quantum physical phenomena and holds the promising potential for superconducting circuits applications. Realizing a nonreciprocity is, however, fundamentally and technologically challenging, as it requires a material structure without a centre of inversion, which is scarce among superconducting materials. Here, we report an evidence of helical superconductivity, in which the Rashba spin-orbit coupling induces momentum-dependent superconducting gap in the inversion symmetry breaking heterointerface superconductor consisting of Mott insulating Ti$_2$O$_3$ and polar semiconducting GaN. Remarkably, the nonlinear responses emerge in the superconducting transition regime, when the magnetic field is precisely aligned in-plane orientations perpendicular to the applied current. In particular, the observed nonreciprocal supercurrent is extremely sensitive to the direction of the magnetic field for 0.5 degree, suggestive of a crossover from a symmetry breaking state to a symmetric one. Our finding not only unveils the underlying rich physical properties in heterointerface superconductors, but also provides an exciting opportunity for the development of novel mesoscopic superconducting devices.

Click-through rate (CTR) Prediction is a crucial task in personalized information retrievals, such as industrial recommender systems, online advertising, and web search. Most existing CTR Prediction models utilize explicit feature interactions to overcome the performance bottleneck of implicit feature interactions. Hence, deep CTR models based on parallel structures (e.g., DCN, FinalMLP, xDeepFM) have been proposed to obtain joint information from different semantic spaces. However, these parallel subcomponents lack effective supervisory signals, making it challenging to efficiently capture valuable multi-views feature interaction information in different semantic spaces. To address this issue, we propose a simple yet effective novel CTR model: Contrast-enhanced Through Network for CTR (CETN), so as to ensure the diversity and homogeneity of feature interaction information. Specifically, CETN employs product-based feature interactions and the augmentation (perturbation) concept from contrastive learning to segment different semantic spaces, each with distinct activation functions. This improves diversity in the feature interaction information captured by the model. Additionally, we introduce self-supervised signals and through connection within each semantic space to ensure the homogeneity of the captured feature interaction information. The experiments and research conducted on four real datasets demonstrate that our model consistently outperforms twenty baseline models in terms of AUC and Logloss.

In recent years, federated learning (FL) has emerged as a promising approach for machine learning (ML) and data science across distributed edge devices. With the increasing popularity of FL, resource contention between multiple FL jobs training on the same device population is increasing as well. Scheduling edge resources among multiple FL jobs is different from GPU scheduling for cloud ML because of the ephemeral nature and planetary scale of participating devices as well as the overlapping resource requirements of diverse FL jobs. Existing resource managers for FL jobs opt for random assignment of devices to FL jobs for simplicity and scalability, which leads to poor performance. In this paper, we present Venn, an FL resource manager, that efficiently schedules ephemeral, heterogeneous devices among many FL jobs, with the goal of reducing their average job completion time (JCT). Venn formulates the Intersection Resource Scheduling (IRS) problem to identify complex resource contention among multiple FL jobs. Then, Venn proposes a contention-aware scheduling heuristic to minimize the average scheduling delay. Furthermore, it proposes a resource-aware device-to-job matching heuristic that focuses on optimizing response collection time by mitigating stragglers. Millimeter-wave (mmWave,>30 GHz) radars are the key enabler in the coming 6G era for high-resolution sensing and detection of targets. Photonic radar provides an effective approach to overcome the limitations of electronic radars thanks to the high frequency, broad bandwidth, and excellent reconfigurability of photonic systems. However, conventional photonic radars are mostly realized in tabletop systems composed of bulky discrete components, whereas the more compact integrated photonic radars are difficult to reach the mmWave bands due to the unsatisfactory bandwidths and signal integrity of the underlining electro-optic modulators. Here, we overcome these challenges and demonstrate a centimeter-resolution integrated photonic radar operating in the mmWave V band (40-50 GHz) based on a 4-inch wafer-scale thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) technology. The fabricated TFLN mmWave photonic integrated circuit consists of a first electro-optic modulator capable of generating a broadband linear frequency modulated mmWave radar waveform through optical frequency multiplication of a low-frequency input signal, and a second electro-optic modulator responsible for frequency de-chirp of the received reflected echo wave, therefore greatly relieving the bandwidth requirements for the analog-to-digital converter in the receiver. Thanks to the absence of optical and electrical filters in the system, our integrated photonic mmWave radar features continuous on-demand tunability of the center frequency and bandwidth, currently only limited by the bandwidths of electrical amplifiers. We achieve multi-target ranging with a resolution of 1.50 cm and velocity measurement with a resolution of 0.067 m/s. Furthermore, we construct an inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) and successfully demonstrate the imaging of targets with various shapes and postures with a two-dimensional resolution of 1.50 cm * 1.06 cm.

Nontrivial topological superconductivity has received enormous research attentions due to its potential for diverse applications in topological quantum computing. The intrinsic issue concerning the correlation between a topological insulator and a superconductor is, however, still widely open. Here, we systemically report an emergent superconductivity in a cross-junction composed of a magnetic topological insulator MnBi2Te4 and a conventional superconductor NbSe2. Remarkably, the interface indicates existence of a reduced superconductivity at surface of NbSe2 and a proximity-effectinduced superconductivity at surface of MnBi2Te4. Furthermore, the in-plane angular-dependent magnetoresistance measurements reveal the fingerprints of the paring symmetry behaviors for these superconducting gaps as a unconventional nature. Our findings extend our views and ideas of topological superconductivity in the superconducting heterostructures with time-reversal symmetry breaking, offering an exciting opportunity to elucidate the cooperative effects on the surface state of a topological insulator aligning a superconductor., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures

Time reversal symmetry breaking in superconductors, resulting from external magnetic fields or spontaneous magnetization, often leads to unconventional superconducting properties. In this way, a conventional Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state, characterized by the Cooper pairs with nonzero total momentum, may be realized by the Zeeman effect caused from external magnetic fields. Here, we report the observation of superconductivity in a few-layer antiferromagnetic insulator CrOCl by utilizing superconducting proximity effect with NbSe2 flakes. The superconductivity demonstrates a considerably weak gap of about 0.12 meV and the in-plane upper critical field reveals as behavior of the FFLO state at low temperature. Our first-principles calculations indicate that the proximitized superconductivity may exist in the CrOCl layer with Cr vacancies or line-defects. Moreover, the FFLO state could be induced by the inherent larger spin splitting in the CrOCl layer. Our findings not only demonstrate the fascinating interaction between superconductivity and magnetism, but also provide a possible path to construct FFLO state by intrinsic time reversal symmetry breaking and superconducting proximity effect.

Label-free tomographic optical imaging inside scattering media is important for medical diagnosis, biological science, colloidal physics, and device inspection. An outstanding challenge is that the ground-truth structure is often unknown, so one cannot rigorously assess and compare different imaging schemes. Here we demonstrate full-wave simulations of tomographic optical imaging deep inside scattering media, which provide not only the ground truth but also the flexibility to tailor the structure and the convenience of comparing different imaging schemes in the same virtual setup with minimal cost. We model reflectance confocal microscopy, optical coherence tomography, optical coherence microscopy, interferometric synthetic aperture microscopy, and the recently proposed scattering matrix tomography for imaging nanoparticle targets embedded in a large scattering medium. The ground truth enables the identification of artifacts that would typically be mistaken as being correct while setting a rigorous and uniform standard across different methods. This work shows how full-wave simulations can fill the gaps of experiments for studying imaging inside scattering media.

Treatment planning, which is a critical component of the radiotherapy workflow, is typically carried out by a medical physicist in a time-consuming trial-and-error manner. Previous studies have proposed knowledge-based or deep-learning-based methods for predicting dose distribution maps to assist medical physicists in improving the efficiency of treatment planning. However, these dose prediction methods usually fail to effectively utilize distance information between surrounding tissues and targets or organs-at-risk (OARs). Moreover, they are poor at maintaining the distribution characteristics of ray paths in the predicted dose distribution maps, resulting in a loss of valuable information. In this paper, we propose a distance-aware diffusion model (DoseDiff) for precise prediction of dose distribution. We define dose prediction as a sequence of denoising steps, wherein the predicted dose distribution map is generated with the conditions of the computed tomography (CT) image and signed distance maps (SDMs). The SDMs are obtained by distance transformation from the masks of targets or OARs, which provide the distance from each pixel in the image to the outline of the targets or OARs. We further propose a multi-encoder and multi-scale fusion network (MMFNet) that incorporates multi-scale and transformer-based fusion modules to enhance information fusion between the CT image and SDMs at the feature level. We evaluate our model on two in-house datasets and a public dataset, respectively. The results demonstrate that our DoseDiff method outperforms state-of-the-art dose prediction methods in terms of both quantitative performance and visual quality.

Integrated microwave photonics is an intriguing field that leverages integrated photonic technologies for the generation, transmission, and manipulation of microwave signals in chip-scale optical systems. In particular, ultrafast processing and computation of analog electronic signals in the optical domain with high fidelity and low latency could enable a variety of applications such as MWP filters, microwave signal processing, and image recognition. An ideal photonic platform for achieving these integrated MWP processing tasks shall simultaneously offer an efficient, linear and high-speed electro-optic modulation block to faithfully perform microwave-optic conversion at low power, and a low-loss functional photonic network that can be configured for a variety of signal processing tasks, as well as large-scale, low-cost manufacturability to monolithically integrate the two building blocks on the same chip. In this work, we demonstrate such an integrated MWP processing engine based on a thin-film lithium niobate platform capable of performing multi-purpose processing and computation tasks of analog signals up to 92 giga samples per second at CMOS-compatible voltages. We demonstrate high-speed analog computation, i.e., first- and second-order temporal integration and differentiation with computing accuracies up to 98.1 %, and deploy these functions to showcase three proof-of-concept applications, namely, ordinary differential equation solving, ultra-wideband signal generation and high-speed edge detection of images. We further leverage the image edge detector to enable a photonic-assisted image segmentation model that could effectively outline the boundaries of melanoma lesion in medical diagnostic images, achieving orders of magnitude faster processing speed and lower power consumption than conventional electronic processors.
