18. Hydrophobic modification of mesh spunlace nonwoven for medical dressing contact layer.

Abstract

The contact layer of traditional medical dressing is easy to adhere to the new wound granulation tissue, which brings the deficiency of secondary wound injury. This work assumed that low-cost and soft mesh spunlace nonwoven was used as medical dressing contact layer. After micro-nano SiO2 modification, polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)/n-heptane were uniformly sprayed on the surface of materials. PDMS modification was studied by using the three-factor three-level orthogonal experiment. The results showed that when the PDMS concentration was 1%, the heat treatment temperature and time were 120°C and 12 h respectively, material possessed the optimal hydrophobicity and its water contact angle (CA) was 151.0 ± 1.1°. Meanwhile, the hydrophobicity, microstructure, thermogravimetry, composition, tensile mechanics, adhesion resistance and durability of materials with/without treatment were compared. It was proved that PDMS was indeed grafted onto the material and could effectively improve the hydrophobicity in coordination with micro-nano SiO2 without affecting the mesh structure of material. The machine direction (MD) and cross-machine direction (CD) strength of material decreased but the elongation increased slightly. The MD and CD peeling energy was 129.7 ± 33.9 J/m2 and 98.1 ± 38.3 J/m2, respectively. Moreover, the water CA of material modified by micro-nano SiO2/PDMS was still 139.4 ± 1.4° after 10 friction stroke tests, indicating that the modified material possessed the great durability. 25. Advances in the blue-green space evaluation index system

Abstract

Blue-green spaces composed of water and green spaces have certain ecological, economic, and social benefits for urban development. Many evaluation index systems have been developed to evaluate the health status of urban ecosystems. However, in these evaluation index systems, blue and green spaces are separately evaluated without considering the synergistic effect between water and green spaces in the ecosystem, thus affecting the unified planning and construction of cities. Therefore, based on existing studies, the development process of the blue-green space evaluation index system is divided into three stages: supply service evaluation stage, adjustment service evaluation stage, and cultural service evaluation stage in order to deeply discuss the development path of the blue-green space evaluation index system. The single blue and green evaluation index systems are compared from the perspectives of index selection and evaluation content. Moreover, the characteristics of conventional evaluation methods are discussed in order to propose an applicable evaluation index system and evaluation method of blue-green spaces for evaluating the degree of blue-green integration of cities. The review provides the basis for urban planning and ecological restoration.

33. Investigation of three-dimensional microstructural features of wood pulp-based wetlaid materials with/without hydroentanglement.

Abstract

Wood pulp-based wetlaid/spunlace (wetlace) material used for cleaning care has sufficient wet strength and disintegration after use. To obtain the effect of high-speed waterjet needle on the change of internal microstructural features of the material, wood pulp/Danufil wetlaid materials with/without hydroentanglement were prepared, and the microstructures of materials were reconstructed virtually by Micro-CT technology. The fault color images of materials along the thickness direction were received and statistical analysis was carried out by software. The results suggest that the pore diameter, fiber longitudinal arrangement and thickness of wetlaid web increases obviously after hydroentanglement. Meanwhile, the layer pore rate of each side of wetlaid and wetlace materials gradually both decreased from outside to inside, and are kept constant at 76% and 67% in the intermediate position, respectively. Furthermore, the longitudinal fiber content of each fault plane on both sides of the material is large, but the fiber arrangement is isotropic when it closes to the scanning center. Overall, hydroentanglement endows the wood pulp-based wetlaid material with special microstructural features and sufficient water absorption. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
