The coverage of *CO and *H intermediates on the surface of a catalyst plays a pivotal role in determining the selectivity towards C1 or C2 products in the electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR). In this study, we engineered two types of interfaces involving copper and rare earth metal oxides, specifically Cu/CeOx and Cu/CuCeOx solid solution, which exhibit enhanced binding affinities for *H and *CO adsorbates in the CO2RR, respectively. As a result, the Cu/CuCeOx catalyst delivered an ethylene faradaic efficiency of 40.2% at a partial current density of −245.7 mA cm−2, whereas the Cu/CeOx catalyst presented a methane faradaic efficiency of 38.6% at a partial current density of −198.3 mA cm−2. Results of theoretical and experimental analyses have demonstrated that the Cu–Ce–Ox solid solution markedly enhances *CO adsorption by stabilizing Cu+ species, thereby favoring its dimerization to ethylene rather than converting to methane through hydrogenation. This investigation elucidates a strategy for directing the selective electroproduction of C1 or C2 compounds from the CO2RR by effectively manipulating *H and *CO adsorption on Cu/CeOx catalysts. Purpose: Previous studies indicated a positive association between physical education (PE) and mathematics achievement (MA). This study explored how PE curriculum implementation relates to MA using data from the China National Assessment of Education Quality (CNAEQ) in 2015, including Mathematics (CNAEQ-MA 2015) as well as Physical Education & Health (CNAEQ-PEH 2015). Method: This study included 22,619 students (48.7% girls) age 13.96 ± 0.64 yr. from the national sample of Grade 8 students from CNAEQ. During 2015, MA and cardiorespiratory fitness (CF) were assessed. PE curriculum implementation, personal hygiene, eating habits, PE interest, mathematics interest, and self-confidence were collected via a self-report student survey. Personal hygiene and eating habits were combined to create the latent variable, healthy lifestyle (HL). Structural equation modeling was applied to examine the associations. Socioeconomic status, school location, Body Mass Index (BMI), and sex were all controlled. Results: PE curriculum implementation had an indirect, positive association with MA through CF, HL-mathematics interest, and HL-mathematics self-confidence. Together, the model explained 27.8% of the variance in MA. Conclusion: PE curriculum implementation may benefit mathematics education, and this link is mainly through HL, CF, mathematics interest, and self-confidence.

In this article, a P‐N synergistic flame retardant AG601‐DOPO (abbreviated as A‐D) was prepared by the reaction of tetrafunctional glycidyl amine epoxy resin (AG601) with 9,10‐dihydro‐9‐oxa‐10‐phosphaphenanthrene‐10‐oxide (DOPO). The chemical structure of the product was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry (MS). Then, A‐D and bisphenol A benzoxazine (BA‐a) were mixed in different proportions to form a binary mixed system BA‐a‐A‐D (abbreviated as BAD) to improve the flame retardant properties of BA‐a. The results showed that the addition of A‐D can greatly improve the flame retardancy of BA‐a. When the content of A‐D was greater than or equal to 10%, the UL‐94 of BAD cured resin can reach the V‐0 rating. With the increasing of A‐D content, the LOI of BAD cured resin was increased from 23.8% to 37.1%. The results of cone calorimetry (CONE) test indicated that the total heat release (THR) was decreased from 120.7 to 78.2 MJ/m2, and the decrease was 35.2%. In addition, the effect of the introduction of A‐D on the thermal stability and heat resistance of BA‐a resin was analyzed. It was found that the temperature of the BAD‐cured resin at 5% thermal weight loss (Td5%) was above 300°C and the glass transition temperature (Tg) was above 186°C, still maintaining good thermal properties. Aiming at the problem of high noise intensity of tufted carpet loom, a dual-channel adaptive active noise control was carried out on the British COBBLE 1/8 tufted carpet loom. According to the noise characteristics of the tufted carpet loom, a feed-forward dual-channel active noise control system model based on the filter-x least mean square algorithm was established. The secondary path identification was carried out by the additional random noise method to obtain the secondary path transfer function. By MATLAB software simulation analysis and experimental verification, the results show that the dual-channel active noise reduction method can effectively reduce the low-frequency noise of the tufted carpet loom. The noise reduction of total sound pressure level of the tufted carpet loom is up to 3.8 dB(A) in 60 cmX60 cm region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CRISPR/Cas (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/CRISPR-associated protein) is widely used in the field of livestock breeding. However, its low efficiency, untargeted cutting and low safety have greatly hampered its use for introducing single base mutations in livestock breeding. Single base editing, as a new gene editing tool, can directly replace bases without introducing double strand breaks. Single base editing shows high efficiency and strong specificity, and provides a simpler and more effective method for precise gene modification in livestock breeding. This paper introduces the principle and development of single base editing technology and its application in livestock breeding.

In this study, a single base editing system was used to edit the FecB and GDF9 gene to achieve a targeted site mutation from A to G and from C to T in Ouler Tibetan sheep fibroblasts, and to test its editing efficiency. Firstly, we designed and synthesized sgRNA sequences targeting FecB and GDF9 genes of Ouler Tibetan sheep, followed by connection to epi-ABEmax and epi-BE4max plasmids to construct vectors and electrotransfer into Ouler Tibetan sheep fibroblasts. Finally, Sanger sequencing was performed to identify the target point mutation of FecB and GDF9 genes positive cells. T-A cloning was used to estimate the editing efficiency of the single base editing system. We obtained gRNA targeting FecB and GDF9 genes and constructed the vector aiming at mutating single base of FecB and GDF9 genes in Ouler Tibetan sheep. The editing efficiency for the target site of FecB gene was 39.13%, whereas the editing efficiency for the target sites (G260, G721 and G1184) of GDF9 gene were 10.52%, 26.67% and 8.00%, respectively. Achieving single base mutation in FecB and GDF9 genes may facilitate improving the reproduction traits of Ouler Tibetan sheep with multifetal lambs.

Background: MET is involved in the progression of several types of human cancers, while phospho-BAD(Ser-136) is a key molecule in apoptosis and might be regulated by MET. The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between altered expression of MET and phospho-BAD in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and their association with clinicopathologic parameters and overall survival., Methods: MET and phospho-BAD(Ser-136) proteins were evaluated by immunohistochemical analysis in 183 paraffin-embedded specimens and were also assessed by Western blotting analysis in 12 frozen tumor tissue samples, which were representative examples of immunohistochemical staining., Results: Positive expression of MET and phospho-BAD(Ser-136) occurred in 67.2% and 49.2% of the 183 cases of NSCLC, respectively. However, neither MET expression nor phospho-BAD(Ser-136) expression was associated with any clinicopathologic parameter. A significant correlation was found between MET and phospho-BAD(Ser-136) expression levels evaluated by immunohistochemistry (r = 0.268, P < 0.001). Overexpression of MET was significantly associated with shortened overall survival in univariate analysis (P < 0.001). Moreover, patients with a MET+/phospho-BAD(Ser-136)+ phenotype had a poorer prognosis than others (P < 0.001). Multivariate Cox proportional hazard analysis confirmed that MET expression is a prognostic factor for NSCLC., Conclusion: MET expression might be correlated with phospho-BAD(Ser-136) expression, and may be an adverse predictor for NSCLC. Activation of the MET/phospho-BAD(Ser-136) signaling pathway might play a role in the development and progression of NSCLC.

The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation of the expression of MET and cyclin D1 and MET gene copy number in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissues and patient clinicopathologic characteristics and survival. Sixty-one NSCLC tissue specimens were included in the study. The expression of MET and cyclin D1 was evaluated by immunohistochemistry and MET gene copy number was assessed by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (Q-PCR). Positive expression of MET and cyclin D1 protein and increased MET gene copy number occurred in 59.0%, 59.0% and 18.0% of 61 NSCLC tissues, respectively. MET-positivity correlated with poor differentiation (P = 0.009). Increased MET gene copy number was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis (P = 0.004) and advanced tumor stage (P = 0.048), while the expression of cyclin D1 was not associated with any clinicopathologic parameters. There was a significant correlation between the expression of MET and MET gene copy number (P = 0.002). Additionally, the expression of cyclin D1 had a significant association with the expression of MET as well as MET gene copy number (P = 0.002 and P = 0.017, respectively). MET-positivity and increased MET gene copy number were significantly associated with poor overall survival (P = 0.003 and P < 0.001, respectively) in univariate analysis. Multivariate Cox proportional hazard analysis confirmed that the expression of MET and MET gene copy number were prognostic indicators of NSCLC (P = 0.003 and P = 0.001, respectively). The overexpression of MET and the increased MET gene copy number might be adverse prognostic factors for NSCLC patients. The activation of the MET/cyclin D1 signaling pathway may contribute to carcinogenesis and the development of NSCLC, and may represent a target for therapy.

Objective: To determine the influence of different registration scopes and methods on kilo-voltage cone beam CT (kVCBCT) image and CT image and to estimate the appropriate clinical target volume (CTV)-to-planned target volume (PTV) margin for central-type non-small cell lung cancer in image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT)., Methods: Twenty-six patients with central-type non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who received IGRT were enrolled in this study and totally 104 flames of kVCBCT scanning acquired before radiotherapy were analyzed. First, registrations were performed by gray plus manual match and were compared among different registration scopes of tumor and tumor plus vertebra. Then, the results of registration as well as time cost using tumor plus vertebra as registration scope were compared among different registration methods of gray plus manual match and bone plus manual match. At last, 200 registrations using tumor plus vertebra as the registration scope performed by bone plus manual match were recorded and the CTV-to-PTV margin was calculated., Results: There was no significant difference in X, Y and Z translational and rotational movements between the registration scopes of tumor and tumor plus vertebra when gray plus manual match was used as the registration method (P>0.05). The registration results of gray plus manual match and bone plus manual match were equal when tumor plus vertebra was used as the registration scope (P>0.05), but the time cost of bone plus manual match [(1.9±0.3) min] was shorter than that of gray plus manual match [(3.1±0.2) min]. The CTV-to-PTV margins were 5.3, 4.9 and 5.7 mm in X, Y, and Z directions respectively., Conclusion: For central-type NSCLC, tumor and vertebra can be used as registration scope and the bone plus manual match is suggested in IGRT. To avoid errors, we suggest a CTV-to-PTV margin of 6 mm.
