Abstract: This Letter reports the first measurement of the oscillation amplitude and frequency of reactor antineutrinos at Daya Bay via neutron capture on hydrogen using 1958 days of data. With over 3.6 million signal candidates, an optimized candidate selection, improved treatment of backgrounds and efficiencies, refined energy calibration, and an energy response model for the capture-on-hydrogen sensitive region, the relative $\overline{\nu}_{e}$ rates and energy spectra variation among the near and far detectors gives $\mathrm{sin}^22\theta_{13} = 0.0759_{-0.0049}^{+0.0050}$ and $\Delta m^2_{32} = (2.72^{+0.14}_{-0.15})\times10^{-3}$ eV$^2$ assuming the normal neutrino mass ordering, and $\Delta m^2_{32} = (-2.83^{+0.15}_{-0.14})\times10^{-3}$ eV$^2$ for the inverted neutrino mass ordering. This estimate of $\sin^2 2\theta_{13}$ is consistent with and essentially independent from the one obtained using the capture-on-gadolinium sample at Daya Bay. The combination of these two results yields $\mathrm{sin}^22\theta_{13}= 0.0833\pm0.0022$, which represents an 8% relative improvement in precision regarding the Daya Bay full 3158-day capture-on-gadolinium result.

2. Exploring galactic properties with machine learning Predicting star formation, stellar mass, and metallicity from photometric data

Abstract: Aims. We explore machine learning techniques to forecast star formation rate, stellar mass, and metallicity across galaxies with redshifts ranging from 0.01 to 0.3. Methods. Leveraging CatBoost and deep learning architectures, we utilize multiband optical and infrared photometric data from SDSS and AllWISE, trained on the SDSS MPA-JHU DR8 catalogue. Results. Our study demonstrates the potential of machine learning in accurately predicting galaxy properties solely from photometric data. We achieve minimised root mean square errors, specifically employing the CatBoost model. For star formation rate prediction, we attain a value of RMSESFR = 0.336 dex, while for stellar mass prediction, the error is reduced to RMSESM = 0.206 dex. Additionally, our model yields a metallicity prediction of RMSEmetallicity = 0.097 dex. Conclusions. These findings underscore the significance of automated methodologies in efficiently estimating critical galaxy properties, amid the exponential growth of multi-wavelength astronomy data. 3. Shell structure and shape transition in odd-$Z$ superheavy nuclei with proton numbers $Z=117, 119$: insights from deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov in continuum

Abstract: We present a systematic study on the structural properties of odd-$Z$ superheavy nuclei with proton numbers $Z=117, 119$, and neutron numbers $N$ increasing from $N=170$ to the neutron dripline within the framework of axially deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum (DRHBc). The results are compared with those of even-even superheavy nuclei with proton numbers $Z=118$ and $120$. We analyze various bulk properties of their ground states, including binding energies, quadrupole deformations, root-mean-square radii, nucleon separation energies, and $\alpha$-decay energies. The coexistence of competing prolate and oblate or spherical shapes leads to abrupt changes in both quadrupole deformations and charge radii as functions of neutron numbers. Compared to even-even nuclei, the odd-mass ones exhibit a more complicated transition picture, in which the quantum numbers of $K^\pi$ of the lowest-energy configuration may change with deformation. This may result in the change of angular momentum in the ground-state to ground-state $\alpha$-decay and thus quench the decay rate in odd-mass nuclei. Moreover, our results demonstrate a pronounced proton shell gap at $Z=120$, instead of $Z=114$, which is consistent with the predictions of most covariant density functional theories. Moreover, large neutron shell gaps are found at $N=172$ and $N=258$ in the four isotopic chains, as well as at $N=184$ in the light two isotopic chains with $Z=117$ and $Z=118$, attributed to the nearly-degenerate $3d$ and $4p$ spin-orbit doublet states due to the presence of bubble structure., Comment: 15 pages with 18 figures

Abstract: This Letter presents results of a search for the mixing of a sub-eV sterile neutrino with three active neutrinos based on the full data sample of the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment, collected during 3158 days of detector operation, which contains $5.55 \times 10^{6}$ reactor \anue candidates identified as inverse beta-decay interactions followed by neutron-capture on gadolinium. The analysis benefits from a doubling of the statistics of our previous result and from improvements of several important systematic uncertainties. No significant oscillation due to mixing of a sub-eV sterile neutrino with active neutrinos was found. Exclusion limits are set by both Feldman-Cousins and CLs methods. Light sterile neutrino mixing with $\sin^2 2\theta_{14} \gtrsim 0.01$ can be excluded at 95\% confidence level in the region of $0.01$ eV$^2 \lesssim |\Delta m^{2}_{41}| \lesssim 0.1 $ eV$^2$. This result represents the world-leading constraints in the region of $2 \times 10^{-4}$ eV$^2 \lesssim |\Delta m^{2}_{41}| \lesssim 0.2 $ eV$^2$., Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures, 1 table

Abstract: Daya Bay presents the first measurement of cosmogenic $^8$He isotope production in liquid scintillator, using an innovative method for identifying cascade decays of $^8$He and its child isotope, $^8$Li. We also measure the production yield of $^9$Li isotopes using well-established methodology. The results, in units of 10$^{-8}\mu^{-1}$g$^{-1}$cm$^{2}$, are 0.307$\pm$0.042, 0.341$\pm$0.040, and 0.546$\pm$0.076 for $^8$He, and 6.73$\pm$0.73, 6.75$\pm$0.70, and 13.74$\pm$0.82 for $^9$Li at average muon energies of 63.9~GeV, 64.7~GeV, and 143.0~GeV, respectively. The measured production rate of $^8$He isotopes is more than an order of magnitude lower than any other measurement of cosmogenic isotope production. It replaces the results of previous attempts to determine the ratio of $^8$He to $^9$Li production that yielded a wide range of limits from 0 to 30\%. The results provide future liquid-scintillator-based experiments with improved ability to predict cosmogenic backgrounds.

Abstract: The full data set of the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment is used to probe the effect of the charged current non-standard interactions (CC-NSI) on neutrino oscillation experiments. Two different approaches are applied and constraints on the corresponding CC-NSI parameters are obtained with the neutrino flux taken from the Huber-Mueller model with a $5\%$ uncertainty. For the quantum mechanics-based approach (QM-NSI), the constraints on the CC-NSI parameters $\epsilon_{e\alpha}$ and $\epsilon_{e\alpha}^{s}$ are extracted with and without the assumption that the effects of the new physics are the same in the production and detection processes, respectively. The approach based on the weak effective field theory (WEFT-NSI) deals with four types of CC-NSI represented by the parameters $[\varepsilon_{X}]_{e\alpha}$. For both approaches, the results for the CC-NSI parameters are shown for cases with various fixed values of the CC-NSI and the Dirac CP-violating phases, and when they are allowed to vary freely. We find that constraints on the QM-NSI parameters $\epsilon_{e\alpha}$ and $\epsilon_{e\alpha}^{s}$ from the Daya Bay experiment alone can reach the order $\mathcal{O}(0.01)$ for the former and $\mathcal{O}(0.1)$ for the latter, while for WEFT-NSI parameters $[\varepsilon_{X}]_{e\alpha}$, we obtain $\mathcal{O}(0.1)$ for both cases., Comment: 25 pages, 16 figures, 6 tables; 36 pages, format changed, references added

9. The bright black hole X-ray binary 4U 1543--47 during 2021 outburst: a thick accretion disk inflated by high luminosity

Abstract: The black hole X-ray binary source 4U 1543--47 experienced a super-Eddington outburst in 2021, reaching a peak flux of up to $\sim1.96\times10^{-7}\rm erg\ \rm cm^{-2}\ \rm s^{-1}$ ($\sim 8.2$ Crab) in the 2--10\,keV band. Soon after the outburst began, it rapidly transitioned into the soft state. Our goal is to understand how the accretion disk structure deviates from a standard thin disk when the accretion rate is near Eddington. To do so, we analyzed spectra obtained from quasi-simultaneous observations conducted by the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT), the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR), and the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory (Swift). These spectra are well-fitted by a model comprising a disk, a weak corona, and a reflection component. We suggest that the reflection component is caused by disk self-irradiation, that is by photons emitted from the inner disk which return to the accretion disk surface, as their trajectories are bent by the strong gravity field. In this scenario, the best-fitting parameters imply that the reflected flux represents more than half of the total flux. Using general relativistic ray-tracing simulations, we show that this scenario is viable when the disk becomes geometrically thick, with a funnel-like shape, as the accretion rate is near or above the Eddington limit. In the specific case of 4U 1543--47, an angle $\gtrsim$ 45 deg between the disk surface and the equatorial plane can explain the required amount of self-irradiation., Comment: Accepted for publication in Astronomy and Astrophysics. 15 pages, 4 tables, 12 figures

Abstract: Properties of the nuclear equation of state (EoS) can be probed by measuring the dynamical properties of nucleus-nucleus collisions. In this study, we present the directed flow ($v_1$), elliptic flow ($v_2$) and stopping (VarXZ) measured in fixed target Sn + Sn collisions at 270 AMeV with the S$\pi$RIT Time Projection Chamber. We perform Bayesian analyses in which EoS parameters are varied simultaneously within the Improved Quantum Molecular Dynamics-Skyrme (ImQMD-Sky) transport code to obtain a multivariate correlated constraint. The varied parameters include symmetry energy, $S_0$, and slope of the symmetry energy, $L$, at saturation density, isoscalar effective mass, $m_{s}^*/m_{N}$, isovector effective mass, $m_{v}^{*}/m_{N}$ and the in-medium cross-section enhancement factor $\eta$. We find that the flow and VarXZ observables are sensitive to the splitting of proton and neutron effective masses and the in-medium cross-section. Comparisons of ImQMD-Sky predictions to the S$\pi$RIT data suggest a narrow range of preferred values for $m_{s}^*/m_{N}$, $m_{v}^{*}/m_{N}$ and $\eta$.

Abstract: Using a data sample of $(1.0087\pm 0.0044)\times 10^{10}$ $J/\psi$ events collected with the BESIII detector, the decays of $J/\psi\to\gamma\pi^{0} (\eta, \eta^\prime)\to\gamma\gamma\gamma$ are studied. Newly measured branching fractions are $\mathcal{B}$$(J/\psi\to\gamma\pi^{0})$=$(3.34\pm 0.02\pm 0.09)\times 10^{-5}$, $\mathcal{B}$$(J/\psi\to\gamma\eta)$=$(1.096\pm 0.001\pm0.019)\times 10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{B}$$(J/\psi\to\gamma\eta^\prime)$=$(5.40\pm 0.01\pm0.11)\times 10^{-3}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. These results are consistent with the world average values within two standard deviations. The ratio of partial widths $\Gamma(J/\psi\to\gamma\eta^\prime)/\Gamma(J/\psi\to\gamma\eta)$ is measured to be $4.93 \pm 0.13$. The singlet-octet pseudoscalar mixing angle $\theta_P$ is determined to be $\theta_P = -(22.11 \pm0.26)^\circ$ or $-(19.34 \pm 0.34)^\circ$ with two different phenomenological models.

Abstract: Using $(1.0087\pm0.0044)\times10^{10}$ $J/\psi$ events collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we search for the lepton number violation decay $\phi \to \pi^+ \pi^+ e^- e^-$ via $J/\psi\to \phi\eta$. Abstract: The feedback from accretion of central supermassive black holes (SMBHs) is a hot topic in the co-evolution of the SMBHs and their host galaxies. By tracing the large scale outflow by the line profile and bulk velocity shift of $[ \rm O~{\scriptsize III}]~ \lambda 5007$, the evolutionary role of outflow is studied here on a large sample of 221 type 2 quasars (QSO2s) extracted from Reyes et al. By following our previous study on local Seyfert 2 galaxies, the current spectral analysis on the SDSS spectroscopic database enables us to arrive at following results: (1) by using the Lick indices, we confirm that QSO2s are on average associated with younger stellar populations than Seyfert galaxies; (2) QSO2s with a stronger outflow are tend to be associated with a younger stellar population, which implies a coevolution between the feedback from SMBH and the host in QSO2s; (3) although an occupation at the high $L_{\rm bol}/L_{\rm Edd}$ end, the QSO2s follow the $L_{\rm bol}/L_{\rm Edd}$-$D_{n}(4000)$ sequence established from local, less-luminous Seyfert galaxies, which suggests a decrease of accretion activity of SMBH and feedback as the circumnuclear stellar population continuously ages., Comment: 15 pages, 8 figures, and 3 tables, accepted for publication in ApJ

Abstract: The Super $\tau$-Charm facility (STCF) is an electron-positron collider proposed by the Chinese particle physics community. It is designed to operate in a center-of-mass energy range from 2 to 7 GeV with a peak luminosity of $0.5\times 10^{35}{\rm cm}^{-2}{\rm s}^{-1}$ or higher. The STCF will produce a data sample about a factor of 100 larger than that by the present $\tau$-Charm factory -- the BEPCII, providing a unique platform for exploring the asymmetry of matter-antimatter (charge-parity violation), in-depth studies of the internal structure of hadrons and the nature of non-perturbative strong interactions, as well as searching for exotic hadrons and physics beyond the Standard Model. The STCF project in China is under development with an extensive R\&D program. This document presents the physics opportunities at the STCF, describes conceptual designs of the STCF detector system, and discusses future plans for detector R\&D and physics case studies.

Abstract: We present a new determination of the smallest neutrino mixing angle ${\theta}_{13}$ and the mass-squared difference ${\Delta}{\rm m}^{2}_{32}$ using a final sample of $5.55 \times 10^{6}$ inverse beta-decay (IBD) candidates with the final-state neutron captured on gadolinium. This sample was selected from the complete data set obtained by the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment in 3158 days of operation. Compared to the previous Daya Bay results, selection of IBD candidates has been optimized, energy calibration refined, and treatment of backgrounds further improved. The resulting oscillation parameters are ${\rm sin}^{2}2{\theta}_{13} = 0.0851 \pm 0.0024$, ${\Delta}{\rm m}^{2}_{32} = (2.466 \pm 0.060) \times 10^{-3}{\rm eV}^{2}$ for the normal mass ordering or ${\Delta}{\rm m}^{2}_{32} = -(2.571 \pm 0.060) \times 10^{-3} {\rm eV}^{2}$ for the inverted mass ordering., Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, 1 table, 10 supplementary files

Abstract: Within the improved quantum molecular dynamic (ImQMD) model we follow the evolution of nuclear matter for planar Couette flow in a periodic box. We focus on the region of liquid-gas phase transition and extract the shear viscosity coefficient from the local stress tensor, directly following viscosity definition. Abstract: Here we present a detailed study of the broadband noise in the power density spectra of the black hole X-ray binary MAXI J1820+070 during the hard state of its 2018 outburst, using the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) observations. The broadband noise shows two main humps, which might separately correspond to variability from a variable disk and two Comptonization regions. We fitted the two humps with multiple Lorentzian functions and studied the energy-dependent properties of each component up to 100--150 keV and their evolution with spectral changes. The lowest frequency component is considered as the sub-harmonic of QPO component and shows different energy dependence compared with other broadband noise components. We found that although the fractional rms of all the broadband noise components mainly decrease with energy, their rms spectra are different in shape. Above $\sim$ 20--30 keV, the characteristic frequencies of these components increase sharply with energy, meaning that the high-energy component is more variable on short timescales. Our results suggest that the hot inner flow in MAXI J1820+070 is likely to be inhomogeneous. We propose a geometry with a truncated accretion disk, two Comptonization regions.

Abstract: This Letter reports the first measurement of high-energy reactor antineutrinos at Daya Bay, with nearly 9000 inverse beta decay candidates in the prompt energy region of 8-12~MeV observed over 1958 days of data collection. A multivariate analysis is used to separate 2500 signal events from background statistically. The hypothesis of no reactor antineutrinos with neutrino energy above 10~MeV is rejected with a significance of 6.2 standard deviations. A 29\% antineutrino flux deficit in the prompt energy region of 8-11~MeV is observed compared to a recent model prediction. We provide the unfolded antineutrino spectrum above 7 MeV as a data-based reference for other experiments. This result provides the first direct observation of the production of antineutrinos from several high-$Q_{\beta}$ isotopes in commercial reactors., Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures, accepted by Physical Review Letters

24. Green-Kubo formula for Boltzmann and Fermi-Dirac statistics

Abstract: Shear viscosity of nuclear matter is extracted via the Green-Kubo formula and the Gaussian thermostated SLLOD algorithm (the shear rate method) in a periodic box by using an improved quantum molecular dynamic (ImQMD) model without mean field, also it is calculated by a Boltzmann-type equation. Here a new form of the Green-Kubo formula is put forward in the present work. For classical limit at nuclear matter densities of $0.4\rho_{0}$ and $1.0\rho_{0}$, shear viscosity by the traditional and new form of the Green-Kubo formula as well as the SLLOD algorithm are coincident with each other. However, for non-classical limit, shear viscosity by the traditional form of the Green-Kubo formula is higher than those obtained by the new form of the Green-Kubo formula as well as the SLLOD algorithm especially in low temperature region. In addition, shear viscosity from the Boltzmann-type equation is found to be less than that by the Green-Kubo method or the SLLOD algorithm for both classical and non-classical limits., Comment: 8 pags, 5 figures

Abstract: A joint determination of the reactor antineutrino spectra resulting from the fission of $^{235}$U and $^{239}$Pu has been carried out by the Daya Bay and PROSPECT collaborations. This Letter reports the level of consistency of $^{235}$U spectrum measurements from the two experiments and presents new results from a joint analysis of both data sets. The measurements are found to be consistent. The combined analysis reduces the degeneracy between the dominant $^{235}$U and $^{239}$Pu isotopes and improves the uncertainty of the $^{235}$U spectral shape to about 3\%. The ${}^{235}$U and $^{239}$Pu antineutrino energy spectra are unfolded from the jointly deconvolved reactor spectra using the Wiener-SVD unfolding method, providing a data-based reference for other reactor antineutrino experiments and other applications. Abstract: The prediction of reactor antineutrino spectra will play a crucial role as reactor experiments enter the precision era. The positron energy spectrum of 3.5 million antineutrino inverse beta decay reactions observed by the Daya Bay experiment, in combination with the fission rates of fissile isotopes in the reactor, is used to extract the positron energy spectra resulting from the fission of specific isotopes. This information can be used to produce a precise, data-based prediction of the antineutrino energy spectrum in other reactor antineutrino experiments with different fission fractions than Daya Bay. The positron energy spectra are unfolded to obtain the antineutrino energy spectra by removing the contribution from detector response with the Wiener-SVD unfolding method. Consistent results are obtained with other unfolding methods. A technique to construct a data-based prediction of the reactor antineutrino energy spectrum is proposed and investigated. Given the reactor fission fractions, the technique can predict the energy spectrum to a 2% precision. In addition, we illustrate how to perform a rigorous comparison between the unfolded antineutrino spectrum and a theoretical model prediction that avoids the input model bias of the unfolding method., Comment: 22 pages, 10 figures, 6 supplemental materials

Abstract: To maximize the light yield of the liquid scintillator (LS) for the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), a 20 t LS sample was produced in a pilot plant at Daya Bay. The optical properties of the new LS in various compositions were studied by replacing the gadolinium-loaded LS in one antineutrino detector. The concentrations of the fluor, PPO, and the wavelength shifter, bis-MSB, were increased in 12 steps from 0.5 g/L and <0.01 mg/L to 4 g/L and 13 mg/L, respectively. The numbers of total detected photoelectrons suggest that, with the optically purified solvent, the bis-MSB concentration does not need to be more than 4 mg/L. To bridge the one order of magnitude in the detector size difference between Daya Bay and JUNO, the Daya Bay data were used to tune the parameters of a newly developed optical model. Then, the model and tuned parameters were used in the JUNO simulation. This enabled to determine the optimal composition for the JUNO LS: purified solvent LAB with 2.5 g/L PPO, and 1 to 4 mg/L bis-MSB., Comment: 13 pages, 8 figures

Abstract: Providing a possible connection between neutrino emission and gravitational-wave (GW) bursts is important to our understanding of the physical processes that occur when black holes or neutron stars merge. In the Daya Bay experiment, using data collected from December 2011 to August 2017, a search has been performed for electron-antineutrino signals coinciding with detected GW events, including GW150914, GW151012, GW151226, GW170104, GW170608, GW170814, and GW170817. We used three time windows of $\mathrm{\pm 10~s}$, $\mathrm{\pm 500~s}$, and $\mathrm{\pm 1000~s}$ relative to the occurrence of the GW events, and a neutrino energy range of 1.8 to 100 MeV to search for correlated neutrino candidates. The detected electron-antineutrino candidates are consistent with the expected background rates for all the three time windows. Assuming monochromatic spectra, we found upper limits (90% confidence level) on electron-antineutrino fluence of $(1.13~-~2.44) \times 10^{11}~\rm{cm^{-2}}$ at 5 MeV to $8.0 \times 10^{7}~\rm{cm^{-2}}$ at 100 MeV for the three time windows. Under the assumption of a Fermi-Dirac spectrum, the upper limits were found to be $(5.4~-~7.0)\times 10^{9}~\rm{cm^{-2}}$ for the three time windows., Comment: 16 pages, 12 figures, 9 tables

Abstract: Searches for electron antineutrino, muon neutrino, and muon antineutrino disappearance driven by sterile neutrino mixing have been carried out by the Daya Bay and MINOS+ collaborations. This Letter presents the combined results of these searches, along with exclusion results from the Bugey-3 reactor experiment, framed in a minimally extended four-neutrino scenario. Significantly improved constraints on the $\theta_{\mu e}$ mixing angle are derived that constitute the most stringent limits to date over five orders of magnitude in the sterile mass-squared splitting $\Delta m^2_{41}$, excluding the 90% C.L. sterile-neutrino parameter space allowed by the LSND and MiniBooNE observations at 90% CL$_s$ for $\Delta m^2_{41}<5\,$eV$^2$.Furthermore, the LSND and MiniBooNE 99% C.L. allowed regions are excluded at 99% CL$_s$ for $\Delta m^2_{41}$ $<$ 1.2 eV$^2$., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures

Abstract: A new regime in the interaction of a two-colour ($\omega$,$2\omega$) laser with a nanometre-scale foil is identified, resulting in the emission of extremely intense, isolated attosecond pulses - even in the case of multi-cycle lasers. For foils irradiated by lasers exceeding the blow-out field strength (i.e. capable of fully separating electrons from the ion background), the addition of a second harmonic field results in the stabilization of the foil up to the blow-out intensity. This is then followed by a sharp transition to transparency that essentially occurs in a single optical cycle. During the transition cycle, a dense, nanometre-scale electron bunch is accelerated to relativistic velocities and emits a single, strong attosecond pulse with a peak intensity approaching that of the laser field.

Abstract: This Letter reports the first extraction of individual antineutrino spectra from $^{235}$U and $^{239}$Pu fission and an improved measurement of the prompt energy spectrum of reactor antineutrinos at Daya Bay. The analysis uses $3.5\times 10^6$ inverse beta-decay candidates in four near antineutrino detectors in 1958 days. The individual antineutrino spectra of the two dominant isotopes, $^{235}$U and $^{239}$Pu, are extracted using the evolution of the prompt spectrum as a function of the isotope fission fractions. In the energy window of 4--6~MeV, a 7\% (9\%) excess of events is observed for the $^{235}$U ($^{239}$Pu) spectrum compared with the normalized Huber-Mueller model prediction. The significance of discrepancy is $4.0\sigma$ for $^{235}$U spectral shape compared with the Huber-Mueller model prediction. The shape of the measured inverse beta-decay prompt energy spectrum disagrees with the prediction of the Huber-Mueller model at $5.3\sigma$. Abstract: A high precision calibration of the nonlinearity in the energy response of the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment's antineutrino detectors is presented in detail. The energy nonlinearity originates from the particle-dependent light yield of the scintillator and charge-dependent electronics response. The nonlinearity model is constrained by $\gamma$ calibration points from deployed and naturally occurring radioactive sources, the $\beta$ spectrum from $^{12}$B decays, and a direct measurement of the electronics nonlinearity with a new flash analog-to-digital converter readout system. Abstract: We present the Data Release 4&5 quasar catalog from the quasar survey by Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST), which includes quasars observed between September 2015 and June 2017. There are a total of 19,253 quasars identified by visual inspections of the spectra. Among them, 11,458 are independently discovered by LAMOST, in which 3296 were reported by SDSS DR12 and DR14 quasar catalog after our survey began, while the rest 8162 are new discoveries of LAMOST. We provide the emission line measurements for the Halpha, Hbeta, MgII and/or CIV for 18100 quasars. Since LAMOST does not have absolute flux calibration information, we obtain the monochromatic continuum luminosities by fitting the SDSS photometric data using the quasar spectra, and then estimate the black hole masses. The catalog and spectra for these quasars are available online. This is the third installment in the series of LAMOST quasar survey which has released spectra for totally ~43,000 quasars hitherto. There are 24,772 independently discovered quasars, 17,128 of which are newly discovered. Abstract: The effect of electron-electron interactions on Dirac fermions, and the possibility of an intervening spin liquid phase between the semi-metal and antiferromagnetic (AF) regimes, has been a focus of intense quantum simulation effort over the last five years. We use determinant quantum Monte Carlo (DQMC) to study the Holstein model on a Honeycomb lattice and explore the role of electron-phonon interactions on Dirac fermions. We show that they give rise to charge density wave (CDW) order, and present evidence that this occurs only above a finite critical interaction strength. We evaluate the temperature for the transition into the CDW which, unlike the AF transition, can occur at finite values owing to the discrete nature of the broken symmetry., Comment: 9 pages, 9 figures

Abstract: A search for a time-varying $\bar{\nu}_{e}$ signal was performed with 621 days of data acquired by the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment over 704 calendar days. The time spectrum of the measured $\overline{\nu}_e$ flux normalized to its prediction was analyzed with a Lomb-Scargle periodogram, which yielded no significant signal for periods ranging from 2 hours to nearly 2 years. The normalized time spectrum was also fit for a sidereal modulation under the Standard Model extension (SME) framework to search for Lorentz and CPT violation (LV-CPTV). Limits were obtained for all six flavor pairs $\bar{e}\bar{\mu}$, $\bar{e}\bar{\tau}$, $\bar{\mu}\bar{\tau}$, $\bar{e}\bar{e},\bar{\mu}\bar{\mu}$ and $\bar{\tau}\bar{\tau}$ by fitting them one at a time, constituting the first experimental constraints on the latter three. Daya Bay's high statistics and unique layout of multiple directions from three pairs of reactors to three experimental halls allowed the simultaneous constraint of individual SME LV-CPTV coefficients without assuming others contribute negligibly, a first for a neutrino experiment., Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, 2 tables. Abstract: We report a measurement of electron antineutrino oscillation from the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment with nearly 4 million reactor $\overline{\nu}_{e}$ inverse beta decay candidates observed over 1958 days of data collection. The installation of a Flash-ADC readout system and a special calibration campaign using different source enclosures reduce uncertainties in the absolute energy calibration to less than 0.5% for visible energies larger than 2 MeV. The uncertainty in the cosmogenic $^9$Li and $^8$He background is reduced from 45% to 30% in the near detectors. A detailed investigation of the spent nuclear fuel history improves its uncertainty from 100% to 30%. Analysis of the relative $\overline{\nu}_{e}$ rates and energy spectra among detectors yields $\sin^{2}2\theta_{13} = 0.0856\pm 0.0029$ and $\Delta m^2_{32}=(2.471^{+0.068}_{-0.070})\times 10^{-3}~\mathrm{eV}^2$ assuming the normal hierarchy, and $\Delta m^2_{32}=-(2.575^{+0.068}_{-0.070})\times 10^{-3}~\mathrm{eV}^2$ assuming the inverted hierarchy., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, and 1 table. v4: the published version

Abstract: This work reports a precise measurement of the reactor antineutrino flux using 2.2 million inverse beta decay (IBD) events collected with the Daya Bay near detectors in 1230 days. The dominant uncertainty on the neutron detection efficiency is reduced by 56% with respect to the previous measurement through a comprehensive neutron calibration and detailed data and simulation analysis. The new average IBD yield is determined to be $(5.91\pm0.09)\times10^{-43}~\rm{cm}^2/\rm{fission}$ with total uncertainty improved by 29%. The corresponding mean fission fractions from the four main fission isotopes $^{235}$U, $^{238}$U, $^{239}$Pu, and $^{241}$Pu are 0.564, 0.076, 0.304, and 0.056, respectively. The ratio of measured to predicted antineutrino yield is found to be $0.952\pm0.014\pm0.023$ ($1.001\pm0.015\pm0.027$) for the Huber-Mueller (ILL-Vogel) model, where the first and second uncertainty are experimental and theoretical model uncertainty, respectively. Abstract: This is the second installment for the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fibre Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) Quasar Survey, which includes quasars observed from September 2013 to June 2015. There are 9024 confirmed quasars in DR2 and 10911 in DR3. After cross-match with the SDSS quasar catalogs and NED, 12126 quasars are discovered independently. Among them 2225 quasars were released by SDSS DR12 QSO catalogue in 2014 after we finalised the survey candidates. 1801 sources were identified by SDSS DR14 as QSOs. The remaining 8100 quasars are considered as newly founded, and among them 6887 quasars can be given reliable emission line measurements and the estimated black hole masses. Quasars found in LAMOST are mostly located at low-to-moderate redshifts, with a mean value of 1.5. The highest redshift observed in DR2 and DR3 is 5. We applied emission line measurements to H$\alpha$, H$\beta$, Mg{\sc ii} and C{\sc iv}. We deduced the monochromatic continuum luminosities using photometry data, and estimated the virial black hole masses for the newly discovered quasars. Abstract: Neutrons produced by cosmic ray muons are an important background for underground experiments studying neutrino oscillations, neutrinoless double beta decay, dark matter, and other rare-event signals. A measurement of the neutron yield in the three different experimental halls of the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment at varying depth is reported. The neutron yield in Daya Bay's liquid scintillator is measured to be $Y_n=(10.26\pm 0.86)\times 10^{-5}$, $(10.22\pm 0.87)\times 10^{-5}$, and $(17.03\pm 1.22)\times 10^{-5}~\mu^{-1}~$g$^{-1}~$cm$^2$ at depths of 250, 265, and 860 meters-water-equivalent. These results are compared to other measurements and the simulated neutron yield in Fluka and Geant4. A global fit including the Daya Bay measurements yields a power law coefficient of $0.77 \pm 0.03$ for the dependence of the neutron yield on muon energy., Comment: 13 pages, 13 figures
