The growth of newly formed particles through new particle formation (NPF) contributes a significant fraction to the cloud condensation nuclei, yet the driving mechanisms remain unclear, especially for polluted environments. To investigate the potential species contributing for nanoparticle growth in environments with significant anthropogenic influences, we measured the hygroscopicity of newly formed particles at 20–40 nm at a rural observational site in the North China Plain during winter 2018. Our results demonstrate that these particles were not very hygroscopic, with the mean hygroscopicity parameter κ of 0.13 ± 0.09. Clear differences in the inferred κ of the growing material responsible for the growth were observed among different events, indicating that even at the same region, the compounds driving particle growth may not be identical. This may be synergistically influenced by the NPF precursors, oxidants and meteorological conditions, suggesting complex mechanisms might co‐exist behind nanoparticle growth in polluted environments. However, the driving mechanisms and the key contributing species for nanoparticle growth are poorly understood. Here, we present direct measurements of the hygroscopicity of particles through new particle formation (NPF) that occurred in a rural environment in the North China Plain (NCP) during wintertime of 2018. Relatively low hygroscopicity of these newly formed particles were observed, suggesting less water‐soluble compounds drove the growth there. We also found that the hygroscopicity of the growing material responsible for nanoparticle growth was not identical on different NPF days. Our results reveal that the compounds driving the growth varied with different NPF conditions, deepening our understanding of nanoparticle growth in polluted environments. China is the largest soybean importer and consumer in the world. Soybean oil is the most-consumed vegetable oil in China, while soybean meal is the most important protein feed raw material in China, which affects the costs of animal husbandry. Volatility in the international soybean market would generate risk spillovers to China's soybean industrial chain. This paper analyzed the channel of risk spillover from the international soybean market to China's soybean industry chain and the asymmetry of the risk spillover. The degree of risk spillover from the international soybean market to the Chinese soybean industry chain was measured by the Copula–CoVaR model. The moderating role of inventory and demand in asymmetric risk spillovers was analyzed by quantile regression. We draw the following conclusions: First, the international soybean market impacts China's soybean industry chain through soybeans rather than soybean meal and oil. The price fluctuation of China soybean market is obviously lower than that of the international soybean market. Second, there are apparent asymmetric risk spillovers from the international soybean market to China's soybean industry chain, especially the soybean meal market. Third, increasing the Chinese soybean inventory and growing demand could effectively prevent the downside risk spillover from international markets to China's soybean market. This also explains the asymmetry of risk spillovers. The research enriches the research perspective on food security, and the analysis of risk spillover mechanisms provides a scientific basis for relevant companies to develop risk-management strategies. This paper uses relevant mathematical statistical models to verify the interactive effect between population mobility and the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry based on the panel data of 43 counties in the Fujian province from 2007 to 2021. The results show that (1) the inflow areas of population flow in the Fujian province are mainly concentrated in the southeast region; (2) there is mutual promotion between population mobility and the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in the Fujian province, and the population mobility in adjacent areas has a significant promotion effect on the high-quality development of the local manufacturing industry; and (3) heterogeneity results show that after 2011, the interaction effect between population mobility and the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry has declined, and population inflow has a stronger role in promoting the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry than population outflow. The conclusions of this study are of great significance to the Fujian province for implementing a reasonable population policy and promoting the coordinated development of manufacturing enterprises. Measuring methods of current mine-used belt conveyor were analyzed, which are electronic belt scale measuring method, nuclear belt scale measuring method, ultrasonic ranging measuring method, laser CCD image measuring method and laser scanning measuring method. Various methods were compared and analyzed from aspects of measurement accuracy, response time,etc. In contact measuring methods, electronic belt scale measuring method has high measurement accuracy, but response speed is slow and stability is poor. In non-contact measuring methods, laser scanning measuring method has high measurement precision, high response speed and good stability. It is indicated that development trend of measuring methods of conveying capacity is to improve measurement accuracy, anti-interference and adaptability; non-contact measurement method or a method combining various technologies will gradually become the mainstream measuring methods of conveying capacity.

Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) classification has become increasingly important in various fields, including ecological and environmental protection, urban planning, and geological disaster monitoring. With the development of high-resolution remote sensing satellite technology, there is a growing focus on achieving precise LULC classification. However, the accuracy of fine-grained LULC classification is challenged by the high intra-class diversity and low inter-class separability inherent in high-resolution remote sensing images. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a novel multi-path feature fusion semantic segmentation model, called MPFFNet, which combines the segmentation results of convolutional neural networks with traditional filtering processes to achieve finer LULC classification. MPFFNet consists of three modules: the Improved Encoder Module (IEM) extracts contextual and spatial detail information through the backbone network, DASPP, and MFEAM; the Improved Decoder Module (IDM) utilizes the Cascade Feature Fusion (CFF) module to effectively merge shallow and deep information; and the Feature Fusion Module (FAM) enables dual-path feature fusion using a convolutional neural network and Gabor Filter. Experimental results on the large-scale classification set and the fine land-cover classification set of the Gaofen Image Dataset (GID) demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, achieving mIoU scores of 81.02% and 77.83%, respectively. These scores outperform U-Net by 7.95% and 3.28%, respectively. Therefore, we believe that our model can deliver superior results in the task of LULC classification. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the present study, we report that a GFP fusion tag facilitated the soluble expression of a pea actin isoform (PEAc1) in E. coli. To investigate the influence of a GFP fusion tag on PEAc1 structure and activity, PEAc1, His-tagged PEAc1 (His-PEAc1), His-tagged GFP (His-GFP), and His-tagged PEAc1 fusion with GFP (His-PEAc1-GFP) were expressed in E. coli. SDS-PAGE and western blot analyses reveal that the solubility of His-PEAc1-GFP was higher than that of PEAc1 and His-PEAc1. The His-PEAc1-GFP and His-GFP fusion proteins were purified from the supernatant of cell homogenate on a Ni-affinity column, and PEAc1 and His-PEAc1 were purified from inclusion bodies. CD spectrum analysis of the four purified proteins indicated that the proportion of α-helix and β-sheet in PEAc1 was closest to the predicted data in His-PEAc1-GFP (compared with His-PEAc1 or PEAc1). In addition, the actin-associated activities of His-PEAc1-GFP, including polymerization to microfilaments under specific ionic conditions and DNase I inhibition by monomers, were more similar to those of muscle actin (compared with PEAc1 and His-PEAc1). These improvements in PEAc1 solubility and activity are likely the result of correct PEAc1 folding mediated by GFP fusion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
