3. Obstacle-Transformer: A Trajectory Prediction Network Based on Surrounding Trajectories

Abstract

Recurrent Neural Network, Long Short-Term Memory, and Transformer have made great progress in predicting the trajectories of moving objects. Although the trajectory element with the surrounding scene features has been merged to improve performance, there still exist some problems to be solved. One is that the time series processing models will increase the inference time with the increase of the number of prediction sequences. Another lies in which the features can not be extracted from the scene's image and point cloud in some situations. Therefore, this paper proposes an Obstacle-Transformer to predict trajectory in a constant inference time. An ``obstacle'' is designed by the surrounding trajectory rather than images or point clouds, making Obstacle-Transformer more applicable in a wider range of scenarios. 27. Secure Control for Cyber–Physical Systems Subject to Aperiodic DoS Attacks

Abstract

This article addresses the secure control issue for cyber-physical systems (CPSs) under aperiodic denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Malicious DoS attacks disrupt the communication between the controller and the actuator. The finite attack resources of malevolent attackers are taken into consideration, and the DoS attacks are characterized using an aperiodic model. In contrast to prior results, the present study tackles the issues of security analysis and secure controller design by considering the attributes of the DoS attacks, instead of employing a switched system approach to address the aforementioned concerns. First, under aperiodic DoS attacks, sufficient criteria are established to guarantee that the closed-loop CPSs can attain asymptotical stability. Second, within a time-varying attack period, the relationship between the attack active interval and the attack silent interval is derived, if this relation is not satisfied, the stability of the system will deteriorate. Finally, a unified framework is developed to address the external disturbances and aperiodic DoS attacks. Sufficient criteria are introduced for evaluating the security of CPSs, and a corresponding secure control scheme is also designed. To verify the efficacy of the derived theory, a wheeled mobile robot system under aperiodic DoS attacks is illustrated.

Abstract

The gut microbiota has become an essential component of the host organism and plays a crucial role in the host immune system, metabolism, and physiology. Nevertheless, our comprehension of how the fish gut microbiota contributes to enhancing nutrient utilization in the diet and improving host growth performance remains unclear. In this study, we employed a comprehensive analysis of the microbiome, metabolome, and transcriptome to analyze intestines of the normal control group and the antibiotic-treated model group of T. ovatus to investigate how the gut microbiota enhances fish growth performance and uncover the underlying mechanisms. First, we found that the growth performance of the control group was significantly higher than that of the antibiotic-treated model under the same feeding conditions. Subsequent multiomics analyses showed that the gut microbiota can improve its own composition by mediating the colonization of some probiotics represented by Lactobacillus in the intestine, improving host metabolic efficiency with proteins and lipids, and also influencing the expression of genes in signaling pathways related to cell proliferation, which together contribute to the improved growth performance of T. ovatus. Our results demonstrated the important contribution of gut microbiota and its underlying molecular mechanisms on the growth performance of T. ovatus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

47. Evolutionary dynamics and conserved function of the Tudor domain-containing (TDRD) proteins in teleost fish

Abstract

Tudor domain-containing (TDRD) proteins, the germline enriched protein family, play essential roles in the process of gametogenesis and genome stability through their interaction with the PIWI-interacting RNA (piRNA) pathway. Several studies have suggested the rapid evolution of the piRNA pathway in teleost lineages with striking reproductive diversity. However, there is still limited information about the function and evolution of Tdrdgenes in teleost species. In this study, through genome wide screening, 13 Tdrdfamily genes were identified in economically important aquaculture fish, including spotted sea bass (Lateolabrax maculatus), Asian sea bass (Lates calcarifer), and tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis). With copy number, structure, phylogeny, and synteny analysis, duplication of Tdrd6and Tdrd7, as well as loss of Stk31and Tdrd10, were characterized in teleost lineages. Codon based molecular evolution analysis indicated faster evolution of teleost Tdrdgenes than that in mammals, potentially associated with the accelerated evolution of the piRNA pathway in teleost lineages. The evolutionary diversity of Tdrdgenes was also detected between different teleost lineages. RNA-seq analysis showed that most teleost Tdrdgenes were dominantly expressed in gonads, particularly highly expressed in testis, such as Tdrd6, Tdrd7a, Tdrd9, Ecat8, and Tdrd15. The varied expression and evolutionary pattern between the duplicated Tdrd6and Tdrd7in teleosts may indicate their functional diversification. All these results suggest a conserved function of teleost Tdrdfamily in gametogenesis and the piRNA pathway, which could lay a foundation for the evolution of Tdrdgenes and be helpful for further deciphering of Tdrdfunctions in teleosts.
