Abstract

In this work, we investigate the (2+1)-dimensional generalized Bogoyavlensky–Konopelchenko (gBK) equation. Based on its bilinear form, the N th-order breather solutions of the gBK equation are successful given by taking appropriate parameters. Furthermore, the N th-order lump solutions of the gBK equation are obtained via the long-wave limit method. In addition, the semi-rational solutions are generated to reveal the interaction between lump solutions, soliton solutions, and breather solutions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

By solving the Friedmann–Robertson–Walker (FRW) geodesic equations for a free test particle with finite mass, we extend the widely used time-of-flight delay expression, which is just valid locally in the neighbourhood of our Galaxy, to the cosmic distance scale. If neutrino masses are known, this may provide a potential method to determine a large scale geometry of the Universe.

Abstract

A series of newly published papers are focusing on the formation of the absorption features discovered by Chandra and XMM-Newton from the young radio quiet x-ray pulsar 1E 1207.4-5209. We try to interpret it as cyclotron absorption lines since this possibility could not be ruled out. With new development and application of a hybrid model, i.e., the magnetic dipole spin-down model combined with the neutrino cyclotron radiation spin-down model, we can easily avoid the contradiction between the normal rotation energy loss rate and the relatively lower magnetic field, and then we obtain the possible initial spin period (~0.420 s). We suppose that the progenitor of 1E 1207.4-5209 may be a white dwarf.

Abstract

An HPLC method was established for the determination of the related substance in erdosteine. Waters ODS-SunFire (250 mm x 4.6 mm ID, 5 microm) column was used, the mobile phase was composed of methanol-acetonitrile-0.01 mol x L(-1) citric acid (20:4:76, the pH value was adjusted by triethylamine to 2.5). The flow rate was 1 mL x min(-1). The detection wavelength was 254 nm. The related substances in the sample of erdosteine taken were calculated by self control with or without the response factor of impurity relative to that of erdosteine. Under the chromatographic condition developed, the impurities in erdosteine were isolated well. The detection limit was 0.2 microg x mL(-1) (signal/noise = 3) by principal component calculated. The method can be adopted to control the related substances in erdosteine.
