10. Lambda polarization at Electron-ion collider in China

Abstract

Lambda polarization can be measured through its self-analyzing weak decay, making it an ideal candidate for studying spin effects in high energy scatterings. In lepton-nucleon deeply inelastic scatterings (DIS), Lambda polarization measurements can probe the polarized parton distribution functions (PDFs) and the polarized fragmentation functions (FFs). One of the most promising facilities for high-energy nuclear physics research is the proposed Electron-ion collider in China (EicC). As a next-generation facility, EicC is set to propel our understandings of nuclear physics to new heights. In this article, we study the Lambda production in electron-proton collision at EicC energy, in particular Lambda's reconstruction based on the performance of the designed EicC detector. In addition, taking spontaneous transverse polarization as an example, we provide a theoretical prediction with statistical projection based on one month of EicC data taking, offering valuable insights into future research prospects., Comment: 8 pages, 9 figures

23. Accessing Compton Form Factors at the Electron Ion Collider in China: An Impact study on $\textbf{Im} {\mathcal E}$

Abstract

We estimate the impact of asymmetry measurements of Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) with transversely polarized proton beam taken at a future Electron Ion Collider in China (EicC) on the extraction of Compton Form Factors (CFFs). The CFFs extracted from an analysis based on artificial neural-network approach are reweighted by means of pseudo-data generated in the expected kinematic region of EicC. We find a remarkable improvement in the extraction of CFF $\textbf{Im} {\mathcal E}$, especially at the range of parton momentum fraction $x \sim$ 0.01, thus hinting for a future experimental probe of the parton orbital angular momentum. Abstract

The 2021-22 High-Energy Physics Community Planning Exercise (a.k.a. ``Snowmass 2021'') was organized by the Division of Particles and Fields of the American Physical Society. Snowmass 2021 was a scientific study that provided an opportunity for the entire U.S. particle physics community, along with its international partners, to identify the most important scientific questions in High Energy Physics for the following decade, with an eye to the decade after that, and the experiments, facilities, infrastructure, and R&D needed to pursue them. This Snowmass summary report synthesizes the lessons learned and the main conclusions of the Community Planning Exercise as a whole and presents a community-informed synopsis of U.S. particle physics at the beginning of 2023. This document, along with the Snowmass reports from the various subfields, will provide input to the 2023 Particle Physics Project Prioritization Panel (P5) subpanel of the U.S. High-Energy Physics Advisory Panel (HEPAP), and will help to guide and inform the activity of the U.S. particle physics community during the next decade and beyond., Comment: 75 pages, 3 figures, 2 tables. Abstract Background The role of red blood cell (RBC) counts as potential independent risk factors for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) remains uncertain. This study aims to clarify the associations between RBC counts and DVT incidence among this population. 26. Corrosion Behavior and Corrosion Prediction Model of X65 Steel under Flowing Conditions in Oxygen-Containing Systems

Abstract

The medium of X65 steel injection sea pipe contains dissolved oxygen, causing severe corrosion inside the pipeline. Regarding this issue, based on the basic data of the on-site water injection subsea pipeline, considering the effects of flow rate, temperature, dissolved oxygen and Cl- concentration on the corrosion behavior of X65 steel, 9 sets of orthogonal tests were designed, and the weight loss test and corrosion product characterization were carried out by using high temperature autoclave, scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffractometer. Combined with multiple linear regression method, a corrosion prediction model was established. Results showed that the order of the degree of influence of the four influencing factors on corrosion rate from large to small was: dissolved oxygen concentration > temperature > flow rate> Cl- concentration, and dissolved oxygen concentration was the main control factor of corrosion. The corrosion rate increased with the increases of flow rate, temperature, dissolved oxygen concentration and Cl- concentration. The characterization results of corrosion products showed that the corrosion products were mainly Fe3O4 and Fe2O3. Considering the influence of the above four factors, a corrosion prediction model was established based on seven groups of uniform corrosion rate values. Furthermore, the remaining two groups of uniform corrosion rate values were used to validate the corrosion prediction model, and the maximum error was 8.9%, indicating that the corrosion rate prediction model was accurate.

Detector instrumentation is at the heart of scientific discoveries. Cutting edge technologies enable US particle physics to play a leading role worldwide. Abstract

To determine the definition, foundation, practice, and development of evidence-based rehabilitation medicine (EBRM) and point out the development direction for EBRM. Retrieve the database of PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, China national knowledge infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang, and China science and technology journal database (CSTJ). The search was conducted from the establishment of the database to June 2023. The key words are “rehabilitation medicine and evidence based” in Chinese and English. After reading the abstract or full text of the literature, a summary analysis is conducted to determine the definition, foundation, practice, and development of EBRM. A total of 127 articles were included. The development of 14 sub majors in EBRM are not balanced, evidence-based musculoskeletal rehabilitation medicine (EBMRM) (31 articles, mainly focuses on osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and musculoskeletal pain), evidence-based neurorehabilitation medicine (EBNM) (34 articles, mainly concentrated in stroke, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury) and evidence-based education rehabilitation medicine (EBEDRM) (17 articles, mainly focuses on educational methodology), evidence-based nursing rehabilitation medicine (EBNRM) (2 articles), evidence-based engineering rehabilitation medicine (EBENRM) (7 articles), evidence-based traditional Chinese rehabilitation medicine (EBTCRM) (3 articles), evidence-based internal rehabilitation medicine (EBIRM) (11 articles), evidence-based intensive care rehabilitation medicine (EBICRM) (4 articles), evidence-based oncology rehabilitation medicine (EBORM) (6 articles), evidence-based physical therapy medicine (EBPTM) (3 articles), evidence-based cardiopulmonary rehabilitation medicine (EBCRM) (6 articles), evidence-based speech therapy medicine (EBSTM)/evidence-based occupation therapy medicine (EBOTM)/evidence-based geriatric rehabilitation medicine (EBGRM) (1 article). Abstract

Charged lepton flavor violation has long been recognized as unambiguous signature of New Physics. Here we describe the physics capabilities and discovery potential of New Physics models with charged lepton flavor violation in the tau sector as its experimental signature. Current experimental status from the B-Factory experiments BaBar, Belle and Belle II, and future prospects at Super Tau Charm Factory, LHC, EIC and FCC-ee experiments to discover New Physics via charged lepton flavor violation in the tau sector are discussed in detail. 33. Scaling properties of exclusive vector meson production cross section from gluon saturation

Abstract

It is already known from phenomenological studies that in exclusive deep-inelastic scattering off nuclei there appears to be a scaling behavior of vector meson production cross section in both nuclear mass number, $A$, and photon virtuality, $Q^{2}$, which is strongly modified due to gluon saturation effects. In this work we continue those studies in a realistic setup based upon using the Monte Carlo event generator Sar{\em t}re. We make quantitative predictions for the kinematics of the Electron-Ion Collider, focusing on this $A$ and $Q^{2}$ scaling picture, along with establishing a small region of squared momentum transfer, $t$, where there are signs of this scaling that may potentially be observed at the EIC. Our results are represented as pseudo-data of vector meson production diffractive cross section and/or their ratios, which are obtained by parsing data collected by the event generator through smearing functions, emulating the proposed detector resolutions for the future EIC., Comment: 26 pages and 18 figures
