Abstract

Cellulose graphene composite aerogels (CMC/GA) were prepared by one-step hydrothermal reaction based on graphite oxidation with the addition of low cost carboxymethyl cellulose. The functional group structure and microstructure of CMC/GA were characterized. The mechanism and capacity of the adsorption of Methylene Blue (MB) were investigated by CMC/GA in water. The results show that the higher temperature and higher initial concentration of MB are beneficial to the adsorption of CMC/GA. The adsorption isotherm is fitted with Langmuir model, the adsorption activation energy of the system is 57.951 kJ·mol-1, indicating that the adsorption of MB by CMC/GA is monolayer and belongs to chemical adsorption. The adsorption kinetics of MB is fitted with pseudo-second-order kinetics model. The intrapartical diffusion model of MB with different concentration shows that the adsorption process of CMC/GA for MB can be divided into two stages:macroporous diffusion and microporous diffusion, and the diffusion rate of macroporous diffusion is obviously higher than that of microporous diffusion.

4. Mineralogical Characteristics and Genesis of Green Nephrite from the World

Abstract

BACKGROUND In previous studies, due to the limited samples with specific origins and limited methods for measurement, the genesis of serpentinite-related green nephrite and its relationship with dolomite-related nephrite were unclear. OBJECTIVES To understand the genesis of serpentinite-related green nephrite. METHODS Green serpentinite-related nephrite deposits have been collected from Qinghai province in China, Russia, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan for systematic analysis. X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Electron Microprobe Analysis (EMPA), X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (XRF) and Stable Isotope Mass Spectrometry were employed. RESULTS ① Serpentinite-related green nephrite is mainly composed of tremolite with minor quartz, talc, biotite, chromite, chlorite, and garnet. ② O-H isotopic values of samples (δD=-69.763‰--29.251‰, δ18O=4.7‰-13.4‰) indicate that the ore-forming fluids are mainly metamorphic water. ③ whole-rock major elements of Fe2+/(Mg+Fe2+)values range from 0.11 to 0.32. The contents of Cr range from 22.9 to 3400 μg/g, whereas Ni ranges from 700 to 1800 μg/g. All of these geochemical characteristics indicate the input of the mantle material in the formation of serpentinite-related nephrite. CONCLUSIONS Geochemical characteristics of serpentinite-related and dolomite-related nephrite are different, which are related to the geological environment. For example, the composition of dolomite-related nephrite is controlled by the granite and dolomite marble, whereas the composition of serpentinite-related green nephrite is related to the mantle material and metamorphic fluids.

31. A study of two-dimensional hexagonal phase array grating in MgO:LN based on the Talbot effect

Abstract

In this paper, theoretical researches on the MgO:LN tunable hexagonal phase array grating based on the Talbot effect were presented. Researches revealed the effects on the intensity distribution of near-field diffraction from array grating duty cycle which is defined as D, phase difference which is defined as Δφ and the distance coefficient which is defined as β. The results obtained show that good near-field diffraction images can be achieved at D=52%, Δφ=0.75π, β=0.2. Based on the theoretical researches, the tunable hexagonal phase array grating is designed and fabricated from periodically poled MgO:LN crystal. Through experimental test, the Talbot effect diffraction imaging map is successfully obtained at different Δφ and β, which verifies the results of the theoretical researches.

36. Genetic analysis of CHCHD2gene in Chinese Parkinson's disease

Abstract

Recently, mutations in the coiled‐coil‐helix–coiled‐coil‐helix domain containing 2 (CHCHD2) gene have been identified in Japanese families with autosomal dominant Parkinson's disease (PD) and two single nucleotide variants (rs10043 and Pro2Leu) increased risk of sporadic PD. The role of CHCHD2in PD susceptibility in other Asian populations still remains to be clarified. In a large Chinese cohort from mainland China (31 familial PD patients, 1,027 sporadic PD patients, and 1,095 health controls), we examined the association of rs10043 and Pro2Leu variants in CHCHD2with PD. All subjects were homozygous for rs10043. Moreover, we detected six patients (0.57%, one of the six patients has family history) and three controls (0.27%) with a heterozygous Pro2Leu variant. Though the frequency of Pro2Leu variant was two times higher in PD compared to controls, the difference did not reach significance in genotypic distribution (P= 0.47) or allelic distribution (P= 0.47). However, our meta‐analysis in Asian populations revealed that the frequency of Pro2Leu variant was significantly higher in PD patients than in controls (P = 0.0002). Our study suggests that Pro2Leu in CHCHD2may be a risk factor for PD among Asians. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Abstract

In this paper, we establish a theoretical model of reciprocal-lattice vector of the two-dimensional hexagonal phase array optical beam splitter modulated by an external electric field, perform the analysis of the tunable phase-difference array optical beam splitter according to the numerical simulation, and then obtain the images of intensity distribution with different values of fractional Talbot distance and external electric field. The two-dimensional hexagonal phase array optical beam splitter is designed and fabricated by lithium niobate. An experimental study of beam splitting is also given. When the applied voltage is 0.5 kV (with electric field of 1 kV/mm), we observe the phenomenon of the beam splitting in Talbot diffraction. As the external field increases, the images of beam splitting in diffraction become clearer, the experimental results are in agreement with theoretical results.
