COVID-19 has remained an uncontained, worldwide pandemic. While battling for the disease in China, six Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) recipes have been shown to be remarkably effective for treating patients with COVID-19. The present review discusses principles of TCM in curing infectious disease, and clinical evidence and mechanisms of the 6 most effective TCM recipes used in treating COVID-19 in 92% of all of the confirmed cases in China. Applications of TCM and specific recipes in the treatment of other viral infections, such as those caused by SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, influenza A virus (including H1N1 and H7N9), influenza B, dengue virus as well as Ebola virus, are also discussed. Among the 6 TCM recipes, Jinhua Qinggan (JHQG) granules and Lianhua Qingwen (LHQW) capsules are recommended during medical observation; Lung Cleansing and Detoxifying Decoction (LCDD) is recommended for the treatment of both severe and non-severe patients; Xuanfeibaidu (XFBD) granules are recommended for treating moderate cases; while Huashibaidu (HSBD) and Xuebijing (XBJ) have been used in managing severe cases effectively. The common components and the active ingredients of the six TCM recipes have been summarized to reveal most promising drug candidates. The potential molecular mechanisms of the active ingredients in the six TCM recipes that target ACE2, 3CLpro and IL-6, revealed by molecular biological studies and/or network pharmacology prediction/molecular docking analysis/visualization analysis, are fully discussed. Therefore, further investigation of these TCM recipes may be of high translational value in enabling novel targeted therapies for COVID-19, potentially via purification and characterization of the active ingredients in the effective TCM recipes.

Introduction: At present, there is a lack of effective treatment for pulmonary fibrosis (PF), and a number of studies have confirmed that curcumin (CUR) has a good effect on PF.Research Qusetion: Is CUR effective in preclinical trials for PF and what is its mechanism of action?Methods: Animal reports of PF treated with CUR were searched from Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane Library from 1 January 2000 to 19 April 2023 to compare CUR treatment of PF with a no-intervention model group. A previous registration (nsply registration number: INPLASY202360084) of this review protocol was undertaken.Results: The meta-analysis included 27 publications and 29 studies involving 396 animals. CUR significantly improved the degree of fibrosis, levels of inflammation, and oxidative imbalances in lung tissue in animal models of PF. In terms fibrosis, such as HYP content (SMD = −4.96; 95% CI = −6.05 to −3.87; p = 0.000).In terms of inflammatory indicators, such as MPO activity (SMD = −2.12; 95% CI = −4.93 to 0.69; p = 0.000). In terms of oxidation index, such as MDA (SMD = −5.63; 95% CI = −9.66 to −1.6; p = 0.000).Conclusion: CUR significantly improved the degree of fibrosis, levels of inflammation, and oxidative imbalances in lung tissue in animal models of PF. Due to the quantitative and qualitative limitations of current research, more high-quality studies are needed to verify the above conclusion.

Aiming at the problem that the conventional oil-immersed lubrication condition cannot truly reflect the operating environment of gear oil-injection lubrication, referring to the FZG A/8.3/90 gear scuffing load capacity test method and using oil injection lubrication gear fatigue test bench, the scuffing load capacity test of 18CrNiMo7-6 carburized gears is carried out based on oil injection lubrication condition with 4106 aviation lubricant. Based on the two-parameter Weibull distribution theory, the gear scuffing performance is evaluated under different reliabilities. Furthermore, based on Python language and database SQLite, a gear scuffing test data management system is developed to realize the effective management and efficient utilization of scuffing test data. The results show that under the same working and process condition, the gear scuffing failure FZG load level has 2-3 degree dispersity. Based on GB/Z 6413.1—2003 flash temperature method, it is found that under the condition of 4106 aviation lubricant injection lubrication, for 50%, 90% and 99% reliability, the gear scuffing temperature of shot peening process is 212.55 ℃, 183.22 ℃ and 152.24 ℃ respectively, improving by 1.51%, 7.31%, 14.99% respectively compared with the grinding process state. The developed data management system realizes scuffing test data flow management. Through the fitting function of two-parameter Weibull distribution, the gear scuffing temperature under different reliability can be obtained, which provides an efficient tool for the evaluation of gear scuffing load capacity.

Governments around the world have paid considerable attention to Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) initiatives. However, there is no clear evidence that current digitization strategies are meeting the expectations of inclusive and sustainable development. Based on panel data from Chinese prefecture-level cities, this paper constructs a quasi-natural experiment with the establishment of the National Comprehensive Big Data Pilot Zones (BDPZ) to examine whether and how big data-based digital policies can address the digital divide. The results show that the construction of the BDPZ significantly contributes to addressing the territorial digital divide. And this policy effect is influenced by factors such as regional innovation capacity, geographical location, and administrative authority. The mechanism analysis shows that the institution-led diffusion effect and administrative supply diffusion effect under the authoritative diffusion model, and the market-driven diffusion effect under the induced diffusion model are the intrinsic mechanisms of BDPZ in addressing the digital divide. To improve the fracture performance of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC), the effects of steel fiber, sisal fiber, and steel-sisal hybrid fiber on the fracture performance of RAC specimens were studied through three-point bending fracture tests. At the same time, digital image correlation (DIC) technology was used to measure the entire process of crack propagation in RAC specimens. The results show that the fracture performance of RAC specimens without fiber addition is poor, while the fracture performance of RAC specimens with fiber addition is significantly improved. When steel fiber is single doped, the cracking toughness is not related to fiber content. When sisal fiber is single doped, the optimal volume content is 0. 15%, the initiation load of RAC specimen is 67% higher than that of RAC specimen without fiber addition. Both single doped and hybrid fiber can improve instability toughness and fracture energy, but hybrid fiber has a better effect. When steel fiber with a volume fraction of 1. 0% and sisal fiber with a volume fraction of 0. 30% are mixed, initiation toughness, unstable toughness and fracture energy of RAC specimens increase by 83. 92%, 575. 86%, and 1 244. 05% compared with RAC specimen without fiber addition, respectively.
