In people with cancer, certain chemotherapy drugs can have hiccups as a side effect, seriously affecting the quality of life. According to the Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, the chemotherapy-induced hiccup is associated with Zangfu, blood stasis and syndrome of Zhuodu and Huoxie. This paper summarized the etiology, pathogenesis and nursing countermeasures of chemotherapy-induced hiccup, investigate the key issues in Traditional Chinese Medicine therapy by syndrome differentiation, and provided reference for precision treatment and care of patients with chemotherapy-induced hiccup. Consumption and emission reduction has become an inevitable trend in the development the food processing industry. While liquid-state osmotic pretreatment can save energy effectively in freeze-dried fruit processing, there is still a need to explore the effect of solid-state osmotic pretreatment. The effects of solid- and liquid-state osmotic pretreatment on waste liquid, resource consumption and product quality in the processing of freeze-dried mango were compared in this study. Results showed that compared with liquid-state infiltration (sucrose concentration of 60%, and solid-to-liquid ratio of 1:1; designated as L60), solid-state infiltration with sucrose concentration of 30% and 40% (designated as S30 and S40, respectively) significantly reduced the waste liquid discharge by 61.00% and 51.71%, the consumption of sucrose by 50.01% and 33.24%, and the total chemical oxygen demand of waste liquid by 60.13% and 41.83%, respectively. Compared with non-osmosed samples, the carbon emission of S30, S40 and L60 during processing was reduced by 10.59%, 12.21% and 8.80%, respectively. Compared with the liquid-state osmosis group, the solid-state osmosis group had lower nutrient retention (total phenolics and VC) during osmosis, but higher nutrient retention during lyophilization. After freeze-drying, the structure of the solid-state osmosis group was shrunk without collapse. In the trend of sustainable development, solid-state osmosis is superior to liquid-state osmosis in energy conservation and emission reduction, which is worthy of further research and exploration.

The widely recognized MAX‐phase materials consist of an early transition metal (M), an A‐group element, and carbon or nitrogen (X) in a hexagonal layered crystal structure. Recently, materials known as MAB phase materials have been developed by substituting boron (B) for the carbon or nitrogen. We have studied an MAB phase alloy system, Hf2(S,Te)B${\rm Hf}_{2}{\rm (S,Te)B}$, by mixing the elements on the A site in the prototypical Cr2AlC-type${\rm Cr}_{2}{\rm AlC\text{-}type}$ MAX‐phase crystal structure instead of the more common M site. We have considered thermodynamic, mechanical and electronic properties of the resulting Hf2S1−xTexB${\rm Hf}_{2}{\rm S}_{1-x}{\rm Te}_{x}{\rm B}$ alloy system in the entire composition range, 0≤x≤1$0 \le x \le 1$. With increasing Te content, the modulus of elasticity and hardness show a decreasing trend, while the material retains its electrical conductivity. Further analysis of the optical properties shows that the studied solid solutions are good candidates for effective absorbing materials in the UV region. Our study indicates that strategic alloying within the A site of MAB phases can selectively tailor certain material properties while preserving their favorable electrical and mechanical performance. Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/Cas have been recognized as powerful genome-editing tools in diverse eukaryotic species, including plants, and thus hold great promise for engineering virus resistance in plants. Nevertheless, further attention is required regarding various issues associated with applying new powerful technologies in the field. This mini-review focuses on the recent advances in using CRISPR/Cas9 and CRISPR/Cas13 systems to combat DNA and RNA viruses in plants. We explored the utility of CRISPR/Cas for targeting the viral genome and editing host susceptibility genes in plants. We also provide insights into the limitations and challenges of using CRISPR/Cas for plant virus interference and propose individual combinatorial solutions. In conclusion, CRISPR/Cas technology has the potential to offer innovative and highly efficient approaches for controlling viruses in important crops in the near future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The rare earth-containing Lu 2 AC (A=Au, Al, Ga, In, Si, Ge, Sn, Pb, P, As, Se, Te) ceramics are studied computationally. The thermal, mechanical, and thermodynamic stabilities are first investigated, where all compounds are stable, and then the electronic, mechanical, and conductive properties are calculated. For Lu 2 AC (A=Si, Ge, Sn, Pb), the Young's modulus and hardness decrease with the increasing atomic number of A element, similarly for Lu 2 AC (A=P, As) and Lu 2 AC (A=Se, Te). However, Lu 2 AC (A=Al, Ga, In) does not follow this trend, first decreasing and then increasing. Overall, Lu 2 GaC is the softest and Lu 2 SeC is the hardest, while Lu 2 SeC is the most electrically conductive, the Lu2PC is the most thermally conductive and Lu 2 AuC is the least conductive. The combined complexity of wind turbine systems and harsh operating conditions pose significant challenges to the accuracy of operational data in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. Improving the precision of data cleaning for high proportions of stacked abnormalities remains an urgent problem. This paper deeply analyzes the distribution characteristics of abnormal data and proposes a novel method for abnormal data cleaning based on a classification processing framework. Firstly, the first type of abnormal data is cleaned based on operational criteria; secondly, the quartile method is used to eliminate sparse abnormal data to obtain a clearer boundary line; on this basis, the Random Sample Consensus (RANSAC) algorithm is employed to eliminate stacked abnormal data; finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in cleaning abnormal data with a high proportion of stacked abnormalities is verified through case studies, and evaluation indicators are introduced through comparative experiments to quantitatively assess the cleaning effect. The research results indicate that the algorithm excels in cleaning effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy, and rationality of data deletion. The cleaning accuracy improvement is particularly significant when dealing with a high proportion of stacked anomaly data, thereby bringing significant value to wind power applications such as wind power prediction, condition assessment, and fault detection. Root-knot nematodes (RKNs) are plant pests that infect the roots of host plants. Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) nematicidal proteins exhibited toxicity to nematodes. However, the application of nematicidal proteins for plant protection is hampered by the lack of effective delivery systems in transgenic plants. In this study, we discovered the accumulation of leucoplasts (root plastids) in galls and RKN-induced giant cells. RKN infection causes the degradation of leucoplasts into small vesicle-like structures, which are responsible for delivering proteins to RKNs, as observed through confocal microscopy and immunoelectron microscopy. We showed that different-sized proteins from leucoplasts could be taken up by Meloidogyne incognita female. To further explore the potential applications of leucoplasts, we introduced the Bt crystal protein Cry5Ba2 into tobacco and tomato leucoplasts by fusing it with a transit peptide. The transgenic plants showed significant resistance to RKNs. Intriguingly, RKN females preferentially took up Cry5Ba2 protein when delivered through plastids rather than the cytosol. The decrease in progeny was positively correlated with the delivery efficiency of the nematicidal protein. In conclusion, this study offers new insights into the feeding behavior of RKNs and their ability to ingest leucoplast proteins, and demonstrates that root leucoplasts can be used for delivering nematicidal proteins, thereby offering a promising approach for nematode control. BACKGROUND: Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) and its crystal toxin or δ‐endotoxins (Cry) offer great potential for the efficient control of crop pests. A vast number of pests can potentially infect the same host plant, either simultaneously or sequentially. However, no effective Bt‐Cry protein has been reported to control both aphids and plant parasitic nematodes due to its highly specific activity. RESULTS: Our study indicated that the Cry5Ba2 protein was toxic to the green peach aphid Myzus persicae, which had a median lethal concentration (LC50) of 9.7 ng μL−1 and fiducial limits of 3.1–34.6 ng μL−1. Immunohistochemical localization of Cry5Ba2 revealed that it could bind to the apical tip of microvilli in midgut regions. Moreover, transgenic tobacco plants expressing Cry5Ba2 exhibited significant resistance to Myzus persicae, as evidenced by reduced insect survival and impaired fecundity, and also intoxicated the Meloidogyne incognita as indicated by a decrease in galls and progeny reproduction. MAX phases have great research value and application prospects, but it is challenging to synthesize the MAX phases containing Cd and Sb for the time being. In this paper, we confirmed the existence of the 312 MAX phases of Zr3CdC2 and Zr3SbC2, both from theoretical calculations and experimental synthesis. The Zr3AC2 (A = Cd, Sb) phase was predicted by the first-principles calculations, and the two MAX phases were confirmed to meet the requests of thermal, thermodynamic, and mechanical stabilities using formation energy, phonon dispersion, and the Born–Huang criteria. Their theoretical mechanical properties were also systematically investigated. It was found that the elastic moduli of Zr3CdC2 and Zr3SbC2 were 162.8 GPa and 164.3 GPa, respectively. Then, differences in the mechanical properties of Zr3AC2 (A = Cd, In, Sn, and Sb) were explained using bond layouts and charge transfers. The low theoretical Vickers hardness of the Zr3CdC2 (5.4 GPa) and Zr3SbC2 (4.3 GPa) phases exhibited excellent machinability. Subsequently, through spark plasma sintering, composites containing Zr3CdC2 and Zr3SbC2 phases were successfully synthesized at the temperatures of 850 °C and 1300 °C, respectively. The optimal molar ratio of Zr:Cd/Sb:C was determined as 3:1.5:1.5. SEM and the EDS results analysis confirmed the typical layered microstructure of Zr3CdC2 and Zr3SbC2 grains. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
