Since 2015, with the rapid development of the platform economy, food delivery services have become an indispensable part of daily life, creating a significant demand for employment opportunities. However, female food delivery riders account for only 10% of all riders, placing them at the margins. This paper aims to address this gender segregation phenomenon by analyzing the gender adaptation strategies of female riders in the male-dominated food delivery industry based on gender performativity theory. Through methods such as face-to-face in-depth interviews, online communication, and observation of typical labor processes, we collected and analyzed specific labor experiences of female food delivery riders. Our findings reveal that female riders employ strategies such as degendered dress codes, continuous challenges to physical limitations, and minimizing menstrual periods to adapt to the male-dominated labor environment, thereby securing employment opportunities. Additionally, they must balance the contradiction between family responsibilities and work demands, continuously seeking a balance between professional freedom and maternal duties. Although laws and policies have gradually strengthened protections for female riders' rights, such as labor security, flexible employment support, and platform rule optimization, further innovation and implementation are still needed in practice. The labor experiences of female riders reflect the deep structure of gender inequality in the platform economy. Future efforts should aim to improve relevant policies further and enhance societal support for female workers to promote gender equality and fair development in the labor market.

In order to achieve the “dual carbon” goals, it is of great significance to evaluate the potential environmental impact of emerging technologies and make decisions in the early stages of technological development to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact throughout the entire life cycle of these technologies. Life cycle assessment can analyze the potential environmental impact of a product or service throughout its life cycle. Prospective life cycle assessment has been proposed to evaluate emerging technologies that are uncommercialized. This study analyzed relevant definitions of life cycle assessment, reviewed articles on prospective life cycle assessment both in China and internationally, and used bibliometric methods to explore the status of prospective life cycle assessment research in terms of research trends, objects, and key fields. Considering the four challenges associated with the method, including low comparability, nonlinear scale amplification, limited data availability, and high uncertainty, a comprehensive framework for prospective life cycle assessment has been proposed. This article also discussed the difficulties and challenges of using prospective life cycle assessment in research in China and provides suggestions for future improvement and application prospects. This study provides a reference for the localization application of the method in China, help the development of carbon reduction technology innovation, and coordinate pollution reduction. It can also help us identify product and supply chain hotspots from a systematic perspective, adopt targeted adjustments, avoid the transfer of environmental pollution burden, and achieve the “dual carbon” goals with a lower cost and environmentally friendly path.

The advantages of Magnetic Coupling Resonant Wireless Power Transfer (MCR-WPT) technology include long transmission distance, high efficiency, and high power. Therefore, it shows great potential in the field of smart home. This study aims to explore the specific impacts on the cognitive functions and neuronal excitation of mice exposed to the electromagnetic fields (EMF) emitted by the MCR-WPT platform, thereby providing biological solid experimental evidence for developing Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technology. The research employed a frequency of 90 kHz, which is suitable for wireless charging of household appliances. Mice were exposed to EMF emitted by the WPT biosafety experimental platform for various durations. And they were divided into four groups (control group, 2-week exposure group, 4-week exposure group, and 8-week exposure group). Upon completion of the exposure period, the study employed the Novel Object Recognition (NOR) test to evaluate the learning and memory capabilities of the animals. Following this, whole-cell patch-clamp experiments were conducted to record the action potentials (AP) and potassium currents. It was revealed by our observations that, in comparison to mice without electromagnetic exposure, long-term exposure to WPT-emitted EMF resulted in accelerated release of action potentials, inhibited the activation of Voltage-Gated Potassium Channels (VGKCs) current, accelerated the deactivation of K+ channel current, and thus significantly improved the excitability of neurons in the dentate gyrus (DG) of the hippocampus of mice, but did not significantly affect cognitive function. Plain Language Summary: In this research, we subjected mice to the EMF emitted by the 90 kHz MCR-WPT system. We evaluated the changes in cognitive function and excitability of granule neurons of mice exposed to this EMF for different durations. Behavioral tests revealed no impairment in mice exposed to the EMF. However, a statistically significant increase in granule cell excitability was observed following EMF exposure. Importantly, because 90 kHz is suitable for wireless charging of household appliances, it is crucial to study its safety. Context Both assisted reproductive technology (ART) and obesity are associated with adverse cardiometabolic alterations in offspring. However, the combined effects of paternal obesity and ART on offspring cardiometabolic health are still unclear. Objective To clarify cardiometabolic changes in offspring of obese fathers conceived using ART. This was a retrospective cohort study conducted between June 2014 and October 2019 at a center for reproductive medicine. A total of 2890 singleton visits aged 4-10 years were followed. Age-and sex-specific z-score of body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, insulin resistance, and lipid profile were examined. Results We observed a strong association between paternal BMI categories and offspring BMI, blood pressure, and insulin resistance. Compared with offspring of fathers with normal weight, multivariable-adjusted mean differences for BMI z-score were 0.53 (95% CI 0.37-0.68) for obese fathers, 0.17 (95% CI 0.05-0.30) for overweight fathers, and −0.55 (95% CI −0.95–0.15) for underweight fathers; corresponding values for systolic blood pressure z-score were 0.21(95% CI 0.07-0.35), 0.10 (95% CI −0.01-0.21), and −0.24 (95% CI −0.59-0.11), and corresponding values for homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance z-score were 0.31 (95% CI 0.16-0.46), 0.09 (95% CI −0.02-0.21), and −0.11 (95% CI −0.48-0.28), respectively. The mediation analyses suggested that 57.48% to 94.75% of the associations among paternal obesity and offspring cardiometabolic alterations might be mediated by offspring BMI. Conclusion Paternal obesity was associated with an unfavorable cardiometabolic profile in ART-conceived offspring. Mediation analyses indicated that offspring BMI was a possible mediator of the association between paternal obesity and the offspring impaired metabolic changes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
