We present 850 $\mu$m polarization observations of the IC 348 star-forming region in the Perseus molecular cloud as part of the B-fields In STar-forming Region Observation (BISTRO) survey. We study the magnetic properties of two cores (HH 211 MMS and IC 348 MMS) and a filamentary structure of IC 348. We find that the overall field tends to be more perpendicular than parallel to the filamentary structure of the region. The polarization fraction decreases with intensity, and we estimate the trend by power-law and the mean of the Rice distribution fittings. The power indices for the cores are much smaller than 1, indicative of possible grain growth to micron size in the cores. We also measure the magnetic field strengths of the two cores and the filamentary area separately by applying the Davis-Chandrasekhar-Fermi method and its alternative version for compressed medium. The estimated mass-to-flux ratios are 0.45-2.20 and 0.63-2.76 for HH 211 MMS and IC 348 MMS, respectively, while the ratios for the filament is 0.33-1.50. This result may suggest that the transition from subcritical to supercritical conditions occurs at the core scale ($\sim$ 0.05 pc) in the region. In addition, we study the energy balance of the cores and find that the relative strength of turbulence to the magnetic field tends to be stronger for IC 348 MMS than HH 211 MMS. We report a new high-sensitivity HI mapping observation of the NGC 5055 galaxy group over an area of $1.^\circ5\times0.^\circ75$ with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST). Our observation reveals that the warped H\,{\sc i} disk of NGC~5055 is more extended than what previously observed by WSRT, out to $ 23.'9$ (61.7 kpc). The total HI mass of NGC 5055 is determined to be $\rm\sim 1.1\times10^{10}\,M_\odot$. We identified three HI clouds with HI masses of the order of $\rm \sim 10^7\,M_\odot$ at the southeastern edge of the HI disk, as well as a candidate high-velocity cloud with an HI mass of $\rm (1.2\pm0.5) \times10^6\,M_\odot$ to the north of NGC 5055. The HI content of UGCA 337 is robustly detected for the first time by the FAST observations. It has a narrow HI linewidth of $W_{50}=17.4\pm3.8$ km s$^{-1}$ with a total \HI\ mass of ($\rm 3.5\pm0.3)\times10^6\,M_\odot$. Comparing the gas content and g-r color of UGCA 337 with typical low-mass dwarf galaxies, UGCA~337 appears relatively gas-poor despite its blue color. This suggests that UGCA 337 may have undergone gas stripping in the past. We also analyzed the possible origin of the diffuse HI clouds located at the outskirts of NGC 5055, and speculate that they might be the remnant features of a merger event in the past., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures

Nondemolition protocols use ancilla qubits to identify the fragile quantum state of a qubit without destroying its encoded information, thus playing a crucial role in nondestructive quantum measurements particularly relevant for quantum error correction. However, the multitude of ancilla preparations, information transfers, and ancilla measurements in these protocols create an intrinsic overhead for information processing. Here we consider an Andreev qubit defined in a quantum-dot Josephson junction and show that the intrinsic time-dependent oscillatory supercurrent arising from the quantum interference of the many-body eigenstates of the Andreev qubit, can be used to probe the qubit itself nondestructively and \textit{without} collapsing its quantum state. This nondestructive and non-collapsing readout of arbitrary superposition states of Andreev qubits avoids ancilla qubits altogether and significantly reduces experimental overhead as no repetitive qubit resetting is needed. Our findings should have an unprecedented impact on advancing research and applications involving Andreev dots, thus positioning them as promising qubit contenders for quantum processing and technologies., Comment: 7 pages and 3 figures

In the field of antiferromagnetic spintronics, the significant change in electrical resistance with the switching of the N\'eel vector of an antiferromagnet plays a crucial role in electrically-readable antiferromagnetic memory with opposite N\'eel vectors as binary "0" and "1". Here, we develop a comprehensive microscopic theory to explore the diverse magnetoresistance effects in an altermagnet. The theory demonstrates an eye-catching antiferromagnetic anisotropic magnetoresistance, i.e., the change in magnetoresistance with the orientation of the N\'eel vector rather than net magnetization, which is bound to become one of the most significant phenomena in spintronics. Furthermore, the interplay between the spin Hall effect and anisotropic spin splitting effect leads to a substantial electrical resistance linear to the magnetic field-controllable N\'eel vector of the altermagnet akin to the giant magnetoresistance in ferromagnetic materials and therefore is crucial for an electrically readable antiferromagnetic memory. Our microscopic theory contributes to a deeper understanding of the fundamental physics underlying antiferromagnetic spintronics and provides valuable insights for designing novel electronic devices involving altermagnets., Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures

Let $\mathcal{F}$ be a family of $r$-uniform hypergraphs. Denote by $\ex^{\mathrm{conn}}_r(n,\mathcal{F})$ the maximum number of hyperedges in an $n$-vertex connected $r$-uniform hypergraph which contains no member of $\mathcal{F}$ as a subhypergraph. Denote by $\mathcal{B}C_k$ the Berge cycle of length $k$, and by $\mathcal{B}P_k$ the Berge path of length $k$. F\"{u}redi, Kostochka and Luo, and independently Gy\H{o}ri, Salia and Zamora determined $\ex^{\mathrm{conn}}_r(n,\mathcal{B}P_k)$ provided $k$ is large enough compared to $r$ and $n$ is sufficiently large. For the case $k\le r$, Kostochka and Luo obtained an upper bound for $\ex^{\mathrm{conn}}_r(n,\mathcal{B}P_k)$. In this paper, we continue investigating the case $k\le r$. We precisely determine $\ex^{\mathrm{conn}}_r(n,\mathcal{B}P_k)$ when $n$ is sufficiently large and $n$ is not a multiple of~$r$. For the case $k=r+1$, we determine $\ex^{\mathrm{conn}}_r(n,\mathcal{B}P_k)$ asymptotically.

A non-extensive (3+1)-dimensional hydrodynamic model for multi-particle production processes, NEX-CLVisc, is developed in the framework of CLVisc where the viscous corrections are turned off. It assumes that the non-extensive effects consistently exist in the initial conditions set by the optical Glauber model, the equation of state and the hadron kinetic freeze-out procedure. The model is then applied to simulate the pseudo-rapidity ($\eta$) distribution, the transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) spectra and the $p_{\rm T}$-differential elliptic flow ($v_2$) of charged particles in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=$ 2.76 TeV and 5.02 TeV, respectively. It is found that the model can reasonably well reproduce the experimental data of the $\eta$ distribution and the charged-particle spectra in a $p_{\rm T}$ range up to 6-8 GeV/c. When compared with the ideal hydrodynamic model, the $p_{\rm T}$-differential $v_2$ of charged particles is suppressed in the NEX-CLVisc model, which is similar to that observed in the hydrodynamic model with a shear viscous correction. Moreover, due to the lack of the viscous corrections and the event-by-event fluctuation, the model can only describe the $p_{\rm T}$-differential $v_2$ up to 3-4 GeV/c, which is smaller than its applicable range for the particle $p_{\rm T}$ spectra., Comment: 9 pages, 4 figures, 4 tables. Inspired by the BESIII newest observation of X(2370) glueball-like particle, we search its productions in both $e^+e^-$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 4.95 GeV and proton-proton (pp) collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV with a parton and hadron cascade model PACIAE. In this model, the final partonic state (FPS) and the final hadronic state (FHS) are consecutively simulated and recorded. The X(2370) glueball- or tetraquark-state is then, respectively, recombined by two gluons or four quarks $ss\bar{s}\bar{s}$ in the FPS using the quantum statistical mechanics inspired dynamically constrained phase-space coalescence (DCPC) model. The X(2370) molecular-state is recombined by the baryon-antibaryon of $\Lambda$-$\bar{\Lambda}$ or $\Sigma$-$\bar{\Sigma}$, or by three mesons of $\pi^+\pi^{-}\eta'$, $K^+K^-\eta'$, or $K_S^0K_S^0\eta'$ in the FHS using DCPC model. In both $e^+e^-$ and pp collisions, significant discrepancies in the yields, the transverse momentum spectra and the rapidity distributions among the X(2370) glueball-, tetraquark-, and molecular-state are observed. These discrepancies are proposed as valuable criteria identifying the X(2370) different states from each other. Our results not only support the BESIII observation of glueball-like particle $\rm X(2370)$ production in $e^+e^-$ collisions, but also serve as a prediction for the $\rm X(2370)$ production in pp collisions. We present the first detection of the ground-state OH emission line at 1612 MHz toward the prototypical carbon-rich planetary nebula (PN) NGC 7027, utilizing the newly installed ultra-wideband (UWB) receiver of the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST). This emission is likely to originate from the interface of the neutral shell and the ionized region. The other three ground-state OH lines at 1665, 1667, and 1721 MHz are observed in absorption and have velocities well matched with that of HCO$^+$ absorption. We infer that the OH absorption is from the outer shell of NGC 7027, although the possibility that they are associated with a foreground cloud cannot be completely ruled out. All the OH lines exhibit a single blue-shifted component with respect to the central star. The formation of OH in carbon-rich environments might be via photodissociation-induced chemical processes. Our observations offer significant constraints for chemical simulations, and they underscore the potent capability of the UWB receiver of FAST to search for nascent PNe., Comment: 17 pages, 3 figures, accepted for publication in ApJ

We report on high-sensitivity neutral hydrogen observations toward the gas-rich interacting galaxies NGC 3395/3396 with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST). Compared to previous observations carried out by the Very Large Array (VLA) and the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSRT), a more extended HI envelope around this system has been detected. The total HI gas mass of the NGC 3395/3396 system is estimated to be 7.8 x 109 M. This value is 2.7 times more than that reported based on the VLA interferometric maps. Previous observations found a large HI tail extending to the south-west and a minor tail emerging from the north of this peculiar galaxy pair. Based on the high-sensitivity observations of FAST, an extended HI plume to the north-west and a gas plume to the north-east have been detected for the first time. Neutral hydrogen of the two smaller galaxies IC 2604 and IC 2608 on the south of the system have also been detected. We discuss the origins of these extra gas and possible tidal interactions between these galaxies. NGC 3395/3396's most prominent tidal feature, the south-west tail combined with the new detected north-west plume behaves like a large ring. We suggest the ring might be formed by the previous fly-by interaction between NGC 3395 and NGC 3396 which happened 500 Myr ago. Our study shows that high-sensitivity HI observations are important in revealing low column density gas, which is crucial to a deeper understanding of this interacting system.

The FAST All Sky H I survey (FASHI) will cover the entire observable sky ($\sim$22000 square degrees) with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST). With the currently released data, we perform an untargeted survey of 21 cm HI absorption galaxies at redshift $z\lesssim0.09$ over an area of about 10000 square degrees. We have detected 51 HI absorbers, including 21 previously known and 30 new ones. The probability of occurrence for the HI absorbers in all HI galaxies is 1/1078. The radio flux densities of the FASHI absorbers are mainly concentrated in the range of $S_{\rm 1.4GHz}=10\sim100$ mJy, but also as low as $2.6\pm0.4$ mJy. We find that the host galaxies of the associated HI absorbers have relatively high star formation rates, and there is a negative correlation between the HI column density and the stellar mass in the host galaxy. Consequently, FAST has significantly improved the capabilities and performance for HI absorption observations and has provided a true untargeted survey of 21 cm HI absorption galaxies for such studies., Comment: 36 pages, many figures, 3 tables, accepted for publication in ApJS

As a Goldstone boson with zero quantum number and zero SM charge, the decays of long-lived $\eta$ ($\eta^{\prime}$) meson provide a unique window to search new physics beyond the standard model and new sources of CP violation, to test the low-energy QCD theory, and to measure the fundamental parameters of light quarks. For such goals in the physics frontiers we discuss a plan of building a super $\eta$ factory at HIAF high-energy terminal or at CiADS after upgrade. The high-intensity proton beam at HIAF provides a great opportunity of producing a huge number of $\eta$ samples of more than $10^{13}$ events per year, with multiple layers of thin targets of light nucleus. Extreme mass-ratio inspirals are crucial sources for future space-based gravitational wave detections. Gravitational waveforms emitted by extreme mass-ratio inspirals are closely related to the orbital dynamics of small celestial objects, which vary with the underlying spacetime geometry. Despite the tremendous success of general relativity, there are unsolved issues such as singularities in both black holes and cosmology. Loop quantum gravity, a theory addressing these singularity problems, offers a framework for regular black holes. In this paper, we focus on periodic orbits of a small celestial object around a supermassive quantum-corrected black hole in loop quantum gravity and compute the corresponding gravitational waveforms. We view the small celestial object as a massive test particle and obtain its four-velocity and effective potential. Our results indicate that the quantum parameter $\hat{\alpha}$ influences the shape of the effective potential. We explore the effects of quantum corrections on marginally bound orbits, innermost stable circular orbits, and other periodic orbits. Using the numerical kludge scheme, we further explore the gravitational waveforms of the small celestial object along different periodic orbits. The waveforms exhibit distinct zoom and whirl phases in a complete orbital period, closely tied to the quantum parameter $\hat{\alpha}$. We also perform a spectral analysis of the gravitational waves from these periodic orbits and assess their detectability. With the steady progress of space-based gravitational wave detection programs, our findings will contribute to utilizing extreme mass-ratio inspirals to test and understand the properties of quantum-corrected black holes., Comment: 16 pages, 12 figures, and 2 tables

Using the gauge-gravity duality, we investigate the fermionic correlation function in the D(-1)-D3 brane system which describes the instantonic plasma in holography. In this system, the charge of the D(-1) brane as the D-instanton gives the gluon condensate. To simplify the holographic setup, we first reduce briefly the ten-dimensional supergravity background produced by D(-1)-D3-branes to an equivalently five-dimensional background. Then using the standard method for computing the Green function in the AdS/CFT dictionary, we derive the equations for the fermionic correlation functions and solve them numerically with the infalling boundary condition. Our numerical results illustrate that the fermionic correlation function as spectral function includes two branches of the dispersion curves whose behavior is very close to the results obtained from the method of hard thermal loop. And the effective mass generated by the medium effect of fermion splits into two values due to the spin-dependent interactions induced by instantons. The coupon collector is a prototypical model for evaluating the number of samples for identifying a set. By superposing all elements in the set as a pure quantum state, a quantum version of the coupon collector aims to learn the state, which is shown to reduce the sample complexity. Here we propose a quantum coupon collector by encoding the set into a mixed state, where the information of missing elements are labelled with Pauli strings. Remarkably, the encoded mixed state has no quantum entangled state and is easy to prepare. With such mixed-state encoding, it can be efficient to learn the set by performing Bell measurements on two copies and then extracting the missing element by solving a series of equations obtained from the measurements. Our protocol further reduces the sample complexity from $O(n)$ in the case of pure-state encoding to $O(\log n)$ when the missing element is one, where $n$ is the number of elements in the set. The mixed-state encoding scheme provides a new avenue for quantum learning and enlarges the realm for exploring quantum advantages.

Potential wells are employed to constrain quantum particles into forming discrete energy levels, acting as artificial few-level systems. In contrast, an anti-parity-time ($\mathcal{PT}$) symmetric system can have a single pair of real energy levels, while all the remaining levels are unstable due to the negative imaginary part of the energy. In this work, we investigate the formation of bound states in a tight-binding chain induced by a harmonic imaginary potential. Exact solutions show that the real parts of energy levels are equidistant, while the imaginary parts are semi-negative definite and equidistant. This allows for the formation of an effective two-level system. For a given initial state with a wide range of profiles, the evolved state always converges to a superposition of two stable eigenstates. In addition, these two states are orthogonal under the Dirac inner product and can be mutually switched by applying a $\pi$ pulse of a linear field. The characterizations when two natural upper bounds of the set of copulas with a given diagonal section are copulas have been well studied in the literature. Given a curvilinear section, however, there is only a partial result concerning the characterization when a natural upper bound of the set of copulas is a copula. In this paper, we completely solve the characterization problem for this natural upper bound to be a copula in the curvilinear case.

We attain a renormalized and iterative expression of the Andreev level in a quantum-dot Josephson junction, which is bound to have significant implications due to several significant advantages. The renormalized form of the Andreev level not only allows us to extend beyond the limitations of small tunnel coupling, quantum dot energy, magnetic field, and mean-field Coulomb interaction but also enables the capturing of subgap levels that leak out of the superconducting gap into the continuous spectrum. Furthermore, the iterative form of the Andreev level provides an intuitive understanding of the spin-split and superconducting proximity effects of the superconducting leads. We find a singlet-doublet quantum phase transition (QPT) in the ground state due to the intricate competition between the superconducting and spin-split proximity effects, that differs from the typical QPT arising from the competition between the superconducting proximity effect (favoring singlet phase) and the quantum dot Coulomb interaction (favoring doublet phase). This QPT has a diverse phase diagram owing to the spin-split proximity effects which favors the doublet phase akin to the quantum-dot Coulomb interaction but can be also enhanced by the tunneling coupling like the superconducting proximity effect. Unlike the typical QPT, where tunnel coupling prefers singlet ground state, this novel QPT enables strong tunnel coupling to suppress the singlet ground state via the spin-split proximity effect, allowing a singlet-doublet-singlet transition with increasing tunnel coupling. Our renormalized and iterative formalism of the Andreev level is crucial for the electrostatic gate, external flux, and magnetic field modulations of the Andreev qubits., Comment: 13 pages and 5 figures

Superconducting diode effects (SDEs) occur in systems with asymmetric critical supercurrents $|I^c_+|\neq |I^c_-|$ yielding dissipationless flow in one direction $(e.g., +)$, while dissipative transport in the opposite direction $(-)$. Here we investigate the SDE in a phase-biased $\phi$ Josephson junction with a double-barrier resonant-tunneling InAs nanowire nested between proximitized InAs/Al leads with finite momentum $\hbar q$ Cooper pairing. Within the Bogoliubov-de Gennes (BdG) approach, we obtain the exact BCS ground state energy $\mathcal{E}_G(q,\phi)$ and $I^{c}_{+} \neq |I^{c}_{-}|$ from the current-phase relation $I_G(q,\phi) \sim \partial_{\phi}\mathcal{E}_G(q,\phi)$. The SDE arises from the accrued Andreev phase shifts $\delta \phi_{L,R}(q,\phi)$ leading to asymmetric BdG spectra for $q\neq 0$. Remarkably, the diode efficiency $\gamma=(I^{c}_{+} - |I^{c}_{-}|)/(I^{c}_{+} + |I^{c}_{-}|)$ shows multiple Fabry-Perot resonances $\gamma \simeq 26\%$ at the double-barrier Andreev bound states as the well depth $V_g$ is varied. Our $\gamma$ also features sign reversals for increasing $q$ and high sensitiveness to fermion-parity transitions. The latter enables $I^{c}_{+} (\phi_+)\rightleftarrows I^{c}_{-}(\phi_-)$ switchings over narrow phase windows, i.e., $\phi_+, \phi_- \in \Delta \phi\ll\pi$, possibly relevant for future superconducting electronics., Comment: 29 pages, 12 figures

{We report the discovery of 20 new dwarf galaxies in the Local Volume identified as optical counterparts to the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) All Sky HI Survey (FASHI) sources. The galaxies have a median stellar mass of $7.8\times 10^6~M_{\odot}$ and a median HI mass of $1.0\times 10^7~M_{\odot}$. Most of them are field galaxies, while three are probable members of the M 101 and M 106 groups. We also found seven FASHI radio sources to be probable dark HI clouds in nearby groups. Together with four other known HI clouds in the local groups, their mean-square radial velocity difference of 49~km~s$^{-1}$ with respect to the host galaxies yields an average total mass of ($2.7\pm1.0)\times10^{11}~M_{\odot}$ for these groups on the projected scale of 90 kpc., Comment: 9 pages, 4 tables, 4 figures, accepted for publication in A&ALett

We develop a comprehensive logical framework for effectively handling the overcomplete basis set in the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equation that contains two orthonormal basis sets conjugate with each other, such as particle and hole orthonormal basis sets. We highlight the significant implications of our logical framework from theoretical concepts and experimental predictions. Firstly, we rigorously derive all many-body eigenfunctions of arbitrary nonuniform superconductors and uncover that the many-body eigenstates are full of superconducting spin clouds-the electron configuration within the Cooper-like pair of an arbitrary nonuniform superconductor. Secondly, we demonstrate a conjugate loop formed by the effective vacuum states of two orthonormal basis sets conjugate with each other, such as the Fermi sea and sky-the effective vacuum states of positive and negative orthonormal basis sets, respectively. Thirdly, we present a gate-, field-, and phase-tunable tunnel spectroscopy asymmetry arising from the imbalanced particle-hole distribution of the subgap quasiparticles in a quantum-dot Josephson junction. These findings underscore the power of our logical framework and its implications for advancing our understanding and utilization of solid-state devices based on superconductivity., Comment: 28 page, 6 figures

We study the out-of-time-order correlators (OTOC) of Skyrmion as baryon in the D0-D4/D8 model which is expected to be holographically dual to QCD with instantons as D0-branes or with a non-zero theta angle. Baryon states are identified to the excitations of the Skyrmion which are described by a holographic quantum mechanical system in this model. By employing the definition of OTOC in quantum mechanics, we derive the formulas and demonstrate explicitly the numerical calculations of the OTOC. Our calculation illustrates the quantum OTOC with imaginary Lyapunov coefficient indicates the possibly metastable baryonic status in the presence of the instanton while the classical OTOC can not, thus it reveals the instantonic or theta-dependent features of QCD are dominated basically by its quantum properties. Furthermore, the OTOC also implies the baryonic phase becomes really chaotic with real Lyapunov exponent if the instanton charge increases sufficiently which agrees with the unstable baryon spectrum presented in this model. In the field of digital content creation, generating high-quality 3D characters from single images is challenging, especially given the complexities of various body poses and the issues of self-occlusion and pose ambiguity. In this paper, we present CharacterGen, a framework developed to efficiently generate 3D characters. CharacterGen introduces a streamlined generation pipeline along with an image-conditioned multi-view diffusion model. This model effectively calibrates input poses to a canonical form while retaining key attributes of the input image, thereby addressing the challenges posed by diverse poses. A transformer-based, generalizable sparse-view reconstruction model is the other core component of our approach, facilitating the creation of detailed 3D models from multi-view images. We also adopt a texture-back-projection strategy to produce high-quality texture maps. Additionally, we have curated a dataset of anime characters, rendered in multiple poses and views, to train and evaluate our model. Our approach has been thoroughly evaluated through quantitative and qualitative experiments, showing its proficiency in generating 3D characters with high-quality shapes and textures, ready for downstream applications such as rigging and animation.

In this paper we calculate the fully differential cross sections for inclusive heavy quark production in deep-inelastic scattering. We construct proper projection operators to give all possible azimuthal angle distributions of the heavy quark for unpolarized and longitudinally polarized scatterings. These projection operators are expressed in terms of momenta of incoming hadron, virtual photon and detected heavy quark. The azimuthal angle distributions are calculated to next-to-leading order of $\alpha_s$, i.e., $O(\alpha_s^2)$, in a unified way. Analytic expressions of the hard coefficients are given. Numerical results on future electron-ion colliders are also given. It is found that at least three azimuthal angle asymmetries can be more than $1\%$ in typical kinematical regions of these colliders., Comment: Numerical results are updated by using consistent PDF sets. In this work, we investigate the worldvolume fermion on the flavor brane in the D0-D4/D8 model which is holographically equivalent to the four-dimensional QCD with instantons, or equivalently with a theta angle. The action for the worldvolume fermion is obtained by the T-duality rules in string theory and we accordingly derive its effectively five-dimensional, canonical four-dimensional forms by using the systematical dimensional reduction and decomposition of spinor. Afterwards, we employ the AdS/CFT dictionary in order to evaluate the two-point correlation function as the spectral function for the worldvolume fermion and interpret the fermion as baryon by analyzing its quantum number with the baryon vertex in holography. In this sense, the interacted action involving the worldvolume fermion and gauge field on the flavor brane are finally derived in holography which describes the various interaction of meson and baryon with instantons in large-N limit. Recently, Cui et al. [Nature \textbf{621}, 711 (2023)] reported that the jet nozzle of M87* exhibits a precession with a period of approximately 11 years. This finding strongly suggests that M87* is a spinning black hole with a tilted accretion disk. In this paper, our aim is to utilize these observations to constrain the parameters of the black hole. Firstly, we investigate the properties of the tilted circular orbits and the innermost stable circular orbits. The corresponding angular momentum, energy, and Carter constant for both prograde and retrograde orbits are calculated. We find that, compared to equatorial circular orbits, these quantities exhibit significant differences for fixed tilt angles. Moreover, the Carter constant takes positive values for nonvanishing tilt angles. Notably, the presence of misalignment of the orbit angular momentum and black hole spin leads to a precession effect in these tilted circular orbits. We then make use of these circular orbits to model the warp radius of the tilted accretion disk, which allows us to determine the corresponding precession period through the motion of massive particles. Further comparing with the observation of M87*, the relationship between the black hole spin and the warp radius is given, through which if one of them is tested, the other one will be effectively determined. Additionally, our study establishes an upper bound on the warp radius of the accretion disk. These findings demonstrate that the precession of the jet nozzle offers a promising approach for testing the physics of strong gravitational regions near a supermassive black holes., Comment: 11 pages, 8 figures. The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) has the largest aperture and a 19-beam L-band receiver, making it powerful for investigating the neutral hydrogen atomic gas (HI) in the universe. We present HiFAST (https://hifast.readthedocs.io), a dedicated, modular, and self-contained calibration and imaging pipeline for processing the HI data of FAST. The pipeline consists of frequency-dependent noise diode calibration, baseline fitting, standing wave removal using an FFT-based method, flux density calibration, stray radiation correction, and gridding to produce data cubes. These modules can be combined as needed to process the data from most FAST observation modes: tracking, drift scanning, On-The-Fly mapping, and most of their variants. With HiFAST, the RMS noises of the calibrated spectra from all 19 beams were only slightly (~ 5%) higher than the theoretical expectation. The results for the extended source M33 and the point sources are consistent with the results from Arecibo. The moment maps (0,1 and 2) of M33 agree well with the results from the Arecibo Galaxy Environment Survey (AGES) with a fractional difference of less than 10%. For a common sample of 221 sources with signal-to-noise ratio S/N >10 from the Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA (ALFALFA) survey, the mean value of fractional difference in the integrated flux density, $S_{\mathrm{int}}$, between the two datasets is approximately 0.005 %, with a dispersion of 15.4%. Further checks on the integrated flux density of 23 sources with seven observations indicate that the variance in the flux density of the source with luminous objects ($S_\mathrm{int}$ $ > 2.5$ Jy km s$^{-1}$) is less than 5%. Our tests suggest that the FAST telescope, with the efficient, precise, and user-friendly pipeline HiFAST, will yield numerous significant scientific findings in the investigation of the HI in the universe., Comment: Accepted by SCPMA. 21 pages, 14 figures. The FAST All Sky HI survey (FASHI) is broader in frequency band and sky volume, and deeper in detection sensitivity than the Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA survey (ALFALFA). To efficiently expand the sample of OH megamasers (OHMs), whose strongest line has a rest frequency of 1667.35903 MHz, we directly matched the IRAS Point Source Catalog Redshift (PSCz) catalog with the corresponding FASHI data cube. From 145 PSCz sources already covered by FASHI, we obtained 27 OHMs with a detection rate of 18.6%, including 9 previously known and 18 new ones, within a redshift range of $0.14314\lesssim z_{\rm OH} \lesssim0.27656$. We also measured the hyperfine ratio of nine OHMs between the 1667 and 1665 MHz lines. The ratio ranges from 1.32 to 15.22, with an average of $R_{1667:1665}=4.74$. In a fit to the $L_{\rm OH}$ vs. $L_{\rm FIR}$ relation, we have ${\rm log}L_{\rm OH}= (1.57\pm0.10){\rm log}L_{\rm FIR}-(15.80\pm1.19)$, which is almost the same as derived from previous observations. As expected, since the OHM sample was selected by cross-correlation with the IRAS-selected PSCz, our detected OHMs are [ultra]luminous infrared galaxies ([U]LIRGs). However, not all [U]LIRGs have detectable OH emission, suggesting that the OH emission may be triggered within a specific stage of the merger or can only be seen in specific orientations. High-latitude ($|b|>30^{\circ}$) molecular clouds have virial parameters that exceed 1, but whether these clouds can form stars has not been studied systematically. Using JCMT SCUBA-2 archival data, we surveyed 70 fields that target high-latitude Planck galactic cold clumps (HLPCs) to find dense cores with density of $10^{5}$-$10^{6}$ cm$^{-3}$ and size of $<0.1$ pc. The sample benefits from both the representativeness of the parent sample and covering densest clumps at the high column density end ($>1\times10^{21}$ cm$^{-2}$). At an average noise rms of 15 mJy/beam, we detected Galactic dense cores in only one field, G6.04+36.77 (L183), while also identifying 12 extragalactic objects and two young stellar objects. Compared to the low-latitude clumps, dense cores are scarce in HLPCs. With synthetic observations, the densities of cores are constrained to be $n_c\lesssim10^5$ cm$^{-3}$, should they exist in HLPCs. Low-latitude clumps, Taurus clumps, and HLPCs form a sequence where a higher virial parameter corresponds to a lower dense core detection rate. If HLPCs were affected by the Local Bubble, the scarcity should favor turbulence-inhibited rather than supernova-driven star formation. Differential cross sections of the elastic pion-proton scattering are investigated at very small momentum transfer in a holographic QCD model, considering both the strong and Coulomb interaction in the Regge regime. The strong interaction is described by the Pomeron and Reggeon exchange, and the Coulomb interaction is characterized by the one photon exchange. The two interactions are linked through an interference term and we only need to determine a single adjustable parameter involved in this term. As to the parameters for the strong interaction, we can utilize the values determined in the previous studies. The differential cross sections can be predicted without any additional parameters, and it is shown that our predictions are consistent with the experimental data. We explicitly show the momentum transfer dependence for the interference effect. We report 850 $\mu$m continuum polarization observations toward the filamentary high-mass star-forming region NGC 2264, taken as part of the B-fields In STar forming Regions Observations (BISTRO) large program on the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT). These data reveal a well-structured non-uniform magnetic field in the NGC 2264C and 2264D regions with a prevailing orientation around 30 deg from north to east. Field strengths estimates and a virial analysis for the major clumps indicate that NGC 2264C is globally dominated by gravity while in 2264D magnetic, gravitational, and kinetic energies are roughly balanced. We present an analysis scheme that utilizes the locally resolved magnetic field structures, together with the locally measured gravitational vector field and the extracted filamentary network. From this, we infer statistical trends showing that this network consists of two main groups of filaments oriented approximately perpendicular to one another. Additionally, gravity shows one dominating converging direction that is roughly perpendicular to one of the filament orientations, which is suggestive of mass accretion along this direction. Beyond these statistical trends, we identify two types of filaments. The type-I filament is perpendicular to the magnetic field with local gravity transitioning from parallel to perpendicular to the magnetic field from the outside to the filament ridge. The type-II filament is parallel to the magnetic field and local gravity. An $r$-graph $H$ is a hypergraph consisting of a nonempty set of vertices $V$ and a collection of $r$-element subsets of $V$ we refer to as the edges of $H$. An $r$-graph $H$ is called linear if any two edges of $H$ intersect in at most one vertex. Let $F$ and $H$ be two linear $r$-graphs. If $H$ contains no copy of $F$, then $H$ is called $F$-free. The linear Tur\'{a}n number of $F$, denoted by $ex_r^{lin}(n,F)$, is the maximum number of edges in any $F$-free $n$-vertex linear $r$-graph. The crown $C_{13}$ (or $E_4$) is a linear 3-graph which is obtained from three pairwise disjoint edges by adding one edge that intersects all three of them in one vertex. In 2022, Gy\'{a}rf\'{a}s, Ruszink\'{o} and S\'{a}rk\"{o}zy initiated the study of $ex_3^{lin}(n,F)$ for different choices of an acyclic 3-graph $F$. They determined the linear Tur\'{a}n numbers for all linear 3-graphs with at most 4 edges, except the crown. They established lower and upper bounds for $ex_3^{lin}(n,C_{13})$. In fact, their lower bound on $ex_3^{lin}(n,C_{13})$ is essentially tight, as was shown in a recent paper by Tang, Wu, Zhang and Zheng. In this paper, we generalize the notion of a crown to linear $r$-graphs for $r\ge 3$, and also generalize the above results to linear $r$-graphs.

As the out-of-time-order correlator (OTOC) is a measure of quantum chaos and an important observable in the context of AdS/CFT, we investigate the OTOC of holographic Skyrmion which is described by an analytical quantum mechanical system from the D4/D8 model (as the holographic QCD). By employing the OTOC defined in quantum mechanics, we derive the formulas and demonstrate the numerical calculations of the OTOC explicitly which is also available for the general case with central force field. Our numerical evaluation illustrates the behaviors of the OTOC with large $N_{c}$, however the expected exponential growth of OTOC is not obtained. Besides, we also take a look at the classical limit of the OTOC and analyze the associated behaviors. At the end of this work, we additionally study the OTOC with three-dimensional Coulomb potential, as another example for the central force field, to support our analyses of the general properties of quantum OTOC., Comment: 30 pages, 8 figures

The FAST All Sky HI survey (FASHI) was designed to cover the entire sky observable by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST), spanning approximately 22000 square degrees of declination between -14 deg and +66 deg, and in the frequency range of 1050-1450 MHz, with the expectation of eventually detecting more than 100000 HI sources. Between August 2020 and June 2023, FASHI had covered more than 7600 square degrees, which is approximately 35% of the total sky observable by FAST. It has a median detection sensitivity of around 0.76 mJy/beam and a spectral line velocity resolution of ~6.4 km/s at a frequency of ~1.4 GHz. As of now, a total of 41741 extragalactic HI sources have been detected in the frequency range 1305.5-1419.5 MHz, corresponding to a redshift limit of z<0.09. By cross-matching FASHI sources with the Siena Galaxy Atlas (SGA) and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) catalogs, we found that 16972 (40.7%) sources have spectroscopic redshifts and 10975 (26.3%) sources have only photometric redshifts. Most of the remaining 13794 (33.0%) HI sources are located in the direction of the Galactic plane, making their optical counterparts difficult to identify due to high extinction or high contamination of Galactic stellar sources. Based on current survey results, the FASHI survey is an unprecedented blind extragalactic HI survey. It has higher spectral and spatial resolution and broader coverage than the Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA Survey (ALFALFA). When completed, FASHI will provide the largest extragalactic HI catalog and an objective view of HI content and large-scale structure in the local universe., Comment: 22 pages, 12 figures, published in SCPMA. Based on the atomic-hydrogen (HI) observations using the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST), we present a detailed study of the gas-rich massive S0 galaxy NGC 1023 in a nearby galaxy group. The presence of an HI extended warped disk in NGC 1023 indicates that this S0 galaxy originated from a spiral galaxy. The data also suggest that NGC 1023 is interacting with four dwarf galaxies. In particular, one of the largest dwarf galaxies has fallen into the gas disk of NGC 1023, forming a rare bright-dark galaxy pair with a large gas clump. This clump shows the signature of a galaxy but has no optical counterpart, implying that it is a newly formed starless galaxy.
