In recent years, the global surge of High-speed Railway (HSR) revolutionized ground transportation, providing secure, comfortable, and punctual services. The next-gen HSR, fueled by emerging services like video surveillance, emergency communication, and real-time scheduling, demands advanced capabilities in real-time perception, automated driving, and digitized services, which accelerate the integration and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the HSR system. This paper first provides a brief overview of AI, covering its origin, evolution, and breakthrough applications. A comprehensive review is then given regarding the most advanced AI technologies and applications in three macro application domains of the HSR system: mechanical manufacturing and electrical control, communication and signal control, and transportation management. The literature is categorized and compared across nine application directions labeled as intelligent manufacturing of trains and key components, forecast of railroad maintenance, optimization of energy consumption in railroads and trains, communication security, communication dependability, channel modeling and estimation, passenger scheduling, traffic flow forecasting, high-speed railway smart platform. Density functional theory (DFT) calculation and pyrolysis gas chromatography mass spectrometry (PyGC/MS) analysis were combined to investigate the thermal degradation behavior of polysulfone, poly(ether sulfone) and poly(phenylene sulfone). A series of pyrolysis temperatures from 500°C to 700°C with the interval of 50°C were chosen for their PyGC/MS analyses, and the obtained results indicate that phenol as a pyrolysis product is preferentially generated over SO2during their pyrolysis. In DFT calculations, their bond dissociation energies and first-stage fragmentation products diradicals at various temperatures were calculated by the M05-2x method, and their preferentially produced pyrolysates estimated from the obtained results are in accordance with the experimental findings. Objective: To compare two techniques of the transarticular screw placement in the lower cervical spine, and to suggest and confirm a new technique of the placement., Methods: The techniques of transarticular screw placements used by Takayasu (group A) and Dalcanto (group B) were applied in eight cervical specimens. The splits of facets,the encroachment of the cervical nerve roots and transverse foramens were observed and analyzed. The numbers of transarticular screws which not gone through the facets were counted in both group A and B, respectively., Results: Sixty-four transarticular screws were implanted,thirty-two for group A, the same for group B. Although no splits of the facets were seen in group A, two transarticular screws did not go through the facets. There were ten splits of facets in group B, in which seven involved the inferior border of the inferior facets and three for the lateral border. No superior facets were found to be broken both in group A and B. Eight screws encroached the transverse foramens in group A and none in group B. Eleven of anterior branch and eight of posterior branch of lower cervical nerve roots were involved in group A, two and nine respectively in group B., Conclusion: There are high risk of injury of anterior branch of cervical nerve root and vertebral artery if the screws are too long and the Takayasu's technique is used. However, the rate of facet split is high if the Dalcanto's technique is applied.

A method was studied for simultaneous determination of multi-elements in natural colored cotton by microwave digestion and ICP-AES. The contents of Ca, Mg, Fe, Cu, Ba, Zn, Al, Sr, Mn and Si in colored and white cotton were determined by this method. The recovery ratio obtained by standard addition method ranged between 93% and 111%, and the relative standard deviation was below 4% (n = 5). The results showed that the contents of Ca, Cu, Zn, Al, Fe, Sr and Si in green and brown cotton are higher than those in white cotton. The data from the study gives some references for further researches on the colored cotton.
