In the analysis of a train–bridge coupled system, fuzzy uncertainty is a factor that must be considered in the prediction of coupled vibration response, but it has not been considered so far. In this work, the concept of information entropy is used to unify the fuzzy uncertainty and random variables into the train–bridge coupled system, and the fuzzy random train–bridge coupled system is established. The fuzzy dynamic response of trains and bridges with fuzzy parameters of the bridge structures and the mass of the carriage were studied, and the mean and variance of the response quantities were calculated using the new point estimation method (NPEM). The combined effect of the fuzziness is considered and the fuzzy value of the system dynamics is obtained. The feasibility of applying this method to train–bridge problems was verified. The calculation results indicated that the maximum amplitude of the fuzzy vertical displacement of the bridge exceeded the conventional vertical displacement by 25.57%, and the maximum amplitude of the fuzzy vertical acceleration of the train exceeded the conventional vertical acceleration by 23.42%. Obviously, in this case, the traditional deterministic calculation method cannot comprehensively and accurately analyze the dynamic response of the train–bridge system. Immigrants who ultimately attain U.S. lawful permanent residence (LPR) enter with various initial legal statuses, which stratify their access to resources and have great implications for their economic integration. This study examines how initial legal status affects LPRs' asset building by investigating three types of financial assets – bank account ownership, investment account ownership, and retirement account ownership. Results reveal that initial legal status stratifies immigrants' subsequent asset building – those with more institutional resources perform better in accruing assets. Findings provide unique insights into immigrant asset building and highlight postmigration resources, especially institutional-level ones, as facilitators in the process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In an increasingly mobile world, the integration of immigrants and displaced individuals is an important factor in creating cohesive and inclusive societies. Integration has different dimensions; this scoping review examines the conceptualization and measurement of economic integration among immigrants and refugees in the United States. Quantitative peer-reviewed journal papers measuring or conceptualizing the economic integration of first-generation documented adult immigrants or refugees in the United States, as well as relevant conceptual or theory papers on this topic, were included in the review. The search strategy included an online search of the Web of Science Core Collection, PsycINFO, Applied Social Sciences Index and Abstracts (ASSIA), and EconLit. Additional search strategies included scanning the reference lists of studies identified as relevant in the initial database search. An analysis of 72 studies included in the review using a data extraction table reveals seven key domains of economic integration: income and economic security, employment and occupational categories, assets and use of financial services, neighborhood and housing, health, education, and use of public assistance. Income and economic security emerged as the most common indicators of integration in the reviewed studies. Notably, less than half of the reviewed publications had a multidimensional approach to defining or measuring economic integration, and the majority of studies were focused on immigrants, with a smaller proportion dedicated to refugees. This review emphasizes the need for comprehensive frameworks in assessing economic integration among immigrants and refugees, reflecting the multifaceted nature of their economic integration experiences. Tablet-mediated interventions have shown promise in improving the mathematical skills of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or intellectual disability (ID). This meta-analysis aims to provide a quantitative synthesis of single-case experimental studies of using tablet-mediated interventions to teach mathematics to individuals with ASD and/or ID. Twenty-seven published studies between 2012 and 2022 were included. The Tau-U effect size index was used to gauge the overall effect size of tablet-mediated interventions. The obtained effect size (Tau-U = 0.98, 95% CI 0.92–1.00) indicated large improvements in mathematics performance after using tablet-mediated interventions. The analysis of potential moderating variables, including participant characteristics, intervention components, and target mathematical skills found no statistically significant moderators. Implications for researchers and practitioners who use tablet-mediated interventions to teach mathematics to individuals with ASD and/or ID are also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
