The floral color phenotypes of Osmanthus fragrans cultivars range from light yellow to orange yellow, with 'Yanzhi Hong' being the only reported cultivar with a red color. However, the underlying reason for this unique floral coloration remains unclear. The study conducted targeted metabolomics and transcriptomics analyses on the petals of 'Yanzhi Hong' at both initial and peak flowering stages. Candidate gene expression was validated, and expression levels of the petals of three cultivars were compared using RT-qPCR. The results revealed the presence of 27 components in the petals of 'Yanzhi Hong', including 5 carotenoids, 8 xanthophylls, and 14 xanthophyll esters. Notably, lycopene was detected in abundance for the first time in O. fragrans cultivars. Carotenes accounted for 78.82 ± 3.17% and 91.19 ± 1.69% of the total carotenoid content in petals during the initial and peak flowering stages, respectively, with all carotene contents increasing during the peak flowering period. β-carotene, lycopene, and γ-carotene were identified as the top three carotene components in petals during both initial and full flowering stages. The unique blush red color of 'Yanzhi Hong' petals could be attributed to the low content of α-carotene and the rich accumulation of lycopene. Furthermore, a total of 1550 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in petals at the peak flowering stage relative to the initial flowering stage, with 1003 genes being downregulated and 547 genes being upregulated during the full flowering stage. There are 926 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) annotated in the Gene Ontology (GO) database. Among these DEGs, those that were downregulated and upregulated during the peak flowering period showed significant enrichment in carbohydrate metabolism and oxidation–reduction processes, respectively. The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis identified 14 structural genes associated with phenylpropanoid biosynthesis and 7 structural genes linked to carotenoid biosynthesis. Expression levels of candidate genes involved in carotenoid biosynthesis were examined in the petals of three cultivars ('Yanzhi Hong', 'Liuye Jingui', and 'Gecheng Dangui') at both the initial and peak flowering stages. The results indicated that the decreased expression of LYG009054 (LYCE) and LYG018651 (LYCB) in 'Yanzhi Hong' resulted in higher lycopene accumulation and lower α-carotene content in the petals. This study offers valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying the unique flower color phenotype of O. fragrans, proving a basis for further research on carotenoid metabolism pathways and the breeding of new cultivars with a variety of flower colors in O. fragrans. Histone acetylation and methylation, governed by various histone modification (HM) gene families, are vital for plant biological processes. However, there are limited studies that have explored HMs in ornamental horticultural trees, including sweet osmanthus (Osmanthus fragrans). We performed genome-wide search and identified 208 OfHMs, encompassing 81 histone methyltransferases (OfHMTs), 51 histone demethylases (OfHDMs), 49 histone acetyltransferases (OfHATs) and 27 histone deacetylases (HDACs). Our comprehensive analysis covered chromosome locations, gene structures, conserved domains, cis-acting elements, phylogenetic comparisons, protein interaction networks and functional enrichment pathways for these gene families. Additionally, tandem and fragment replications were unveiled as contributors to the expansion of OfHMs, with some genes exhibiting positive selection. Furthermore, we examined OfHM expression profiles across various tissues and flowering stages, and under 5′-azacytidine (Aza) and ethylene treatments. Most OfHMs displayed heightened expression in leaves, and were downregulated during the flower opening and senescence stages, including OfPRMTs, OfHDTs, OfHDAs, OfSRTs, OfJMJs and OfHAGs; 75.86% and 80.77% of the differentially expressed OfHMs were upregulated after Aza and ethylene treatments, including OfHAGs, OfHDAs and OfSDGs. This study offers a comprehensive analysis of the OfHM gene family, which indicated their potential involvement in ethylene and Aza responses, and in the flowering process. Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have been widely used for electric vehicles owing to their high energy density, light weight, and no memory effect. However, their health management problems remain unsolved in actual application. Therefore, this paper focuses on battery capacity as the key health indicator and proposes a data-driven method for capacity prediction. Specifically, this method mainly utilizes Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for automatic feature extraction from raw data and combines it with the Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) algorithm to realize the capacity prediction of LIBs. In addition, the sparrow search algorithm (SSA) is used to optimize the hyper-parameters of the neural network to further improve the prediction performance of original network structures. Ultimately, experiments with a public dataset of batteries are carried out to verify and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity prediction under two temperature conditions. The results show that the SSA-CNN-BiLSTM framework for capacity prediction of LIBs has higher accuracy compared with other original network structures during the multi-battery cycle experiments. Background: To alleviate the damage caused by nerve root entrapment mediated by lumbosacral disc herniation (LDH), an imaging method that allows quantitative evaluation of the lumbosacral nerve injury is necessary. Purpose: To investigate the diagnostic value of magnetic resonance (MR) T2 mapping in nerve root injury caused by LDH. Material and Methods: A total of 70 patients with unilateral sciatic nerve pain and 35 healthy volunteers were divided into three groups: LDH with nerve root entrapment; LDH without nerve root entrapment; and 35 healthy volunteers. All participants underwent 3.0-T MR with T1-weighted (T1W) imaging, T2-weighted (T2W) imaging, and T2-mapping images. T2 was measured and observed with the left and right nerve roots of the L4-S1 segments in healthy volunteers; the differences between the three groups were compared. T2 and the relaxation rate of nerve root injury were analyzed. Results: T2 showed significant differences among the three groups (F = 89.494; P = 0.000), receiver operating characteristic curve revealed that the T2 relaxation threshold was 79 ms, the area under curve (AUC) area was 0.86, sensitivity was 0.77, and specificity was 0.74; the T2 relaxation rate was 1.06, the AUC area was 0.88, sensitivity was 0.74, and specificity was 0.85. Conclusion: T2 mapping could quantitatively evaluate the nerve root injury with lumbar disc degeneration. Hence, it can be used for the clinical evaluation of nerve root entrapment caused by LDH. Background: In recent years, with the development of imaging technology, the accurate diagnosis of precancerous lesions of digestive system and early lymphoma has attracted wide attention in the medical field., Methods: In this study, 82 patients with gastrointestinal diseases, including 32 patients with early gastrointestinal lymphoma and 50 patients with gastrointestinal precancerous lesions, underwent dynamic contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) scanning. The difference ( δ 1, δ 2) and ratio ( Q1 , Q2 ) of density between arterial phase, portal phase and plain scan were measured and compared, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of the subjects was drawn., Results: The results showed no statistically significant differences in the general condition of patients or a difference for the results of the arterial phase δ 1 and Q1 between the two groups (P>0.05). However, the portal venous phase δ 2 and Q2 in the early lymphoma group and in precancerous lesion group were 29.50±6.05, 41.55±10.10 Hounsfield units (HU), and 1.70±0.05, 2.06±0.31, respectively. The area under the ROC curve (AUC) values for δ 2 and Q2 to identify the two diseases were 0.755 and 0.878, respectively. When δ 2 and Q2 were 35.63 and 1.86 HU, the specificity was 89.60% and 67.50%, and sensitivity was 89.60% and 64.90%, respectively. To observe the effectiveness of acupuncture at points of the Du Channel in treating heroinism, seventy patients with heroinism were randomly divided into a treatment group (n= 35) and a control group (n=35). A 10-day decrescendo therapy of methadone and acupuncture at points of the Du Channel were adopted in the treatment group, while the 10-day decrescendo therapy of methadone was simply performed in the control group. The scoring and grading of the abstinence symptoms were recorded and evaluated for both groups. 31 cases in the treatment group and 26 cases in the control group completed the entire treatment process, and a significant difference (P<0.01) in scores of abstinence symptoms before and after treatment was noticed in the two groups. The obvious difference in scores of abstinence symptoms on the first, second, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth day in the treatment group was superior to those in the control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Particularly for such symptoms as perspiration, anxiety and pain in the muscle and bone, the result in the treatment group was much better than that in the control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Acupuncture at points of the Du Channel has an auxiliary therapeutic effect on abstinence symptoms of heroinism, which can effectively help alleviate the abstinence symptoms.
