The Actin Depolymerizing Factor (ADF) protein, highly conserved among eukaryotes, is essential for plant growth, development, and stress responses. Cotton, a vital economic crop with applications spanning oilseed, textiles, and military sectors, has seen a limited exploration of its ADF gene family. This research has identified 118 unique ADF sequences across four principal cotton species: Gossypium hirsutum L., Gossypium barbadense Linn, Gossypium raimondii, and Asiatic cotton. The study found that the structural domains and physicochemical properties of these proteins are largely uniform across species. The ADF genes were classified into four subfamilies with a notable expansion in groups III and IV due to tandem and chromosomal duplication events. A thorough analysis revealed a high degree of conservation in gene structure, including exon counts and the lengths of introns and exons, with the majority of genes containing three exons, aligning with the characteristics of the ADF family. RNA-seq analysis uncovered a spectrum of responses by GhADFs to various abiotic stresses with GhADF19 showing the most significant reaction. Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) experiments were conducted to assess the role of GhADF19 in plant growth under abiotic stress. The results demonstrated that plants with silenced GhADF19 exhibited significantly slower growth rates and lower dry weights when subjected to cold, salt, and drought stress compared to the control group. This marked reduction in growth and dry weight under stress conditions highlights the potential importance of GhADF19 in stress tolerance mechanisms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The preparation of high‐performance and fire‐safe electrolytes for flexible quasi‐solid‐state supercapacitors is challenging. In this work, a novel fire‐safe and multifunctional deep eutectic solvent gel (DESG) is fabricated using acrylic acid and urea as hydrogen bond donors and choline chloride as a hydrogen bond acceptor. DESG shows a high ionic conductivity (0.552 S m−1), good electrochemical performance (specific capacitance: 106.8 F g−1), and a wide operating temperature range (−20–90 °C), being a promising candidate for flexible solid‐state supercapacitors. Furthermore, it exhibits a good thermoelectric conversion capability (Seebeck coefficient: 1.56 mV K−1), being ideal for thermoelectric capacitors and fire‐warning sensors. The prepared DESG rapidly self‐extinguishes after removal from fire, reaching a limiting oxygen index value of 38.0% and demonstrating its excellent flame retardancy. In addition, DESG has a good self‐healing performance (healing efficiency of 84.3%). In order to explore the ways to get rich in villages, we had been to the villages around Beijing. On the basis of the field investigation of four villages around Beijing: Huoshaoying Village, Baojiapu Village, Xiaoyuzi Village and Niuzhan Village, the way to get rich in rural areas is discussed in depth based on their rich history, achievements and experience, after investigating four villages that develop homestay tourism, art, agricultural products and food processing industries respectively, we have explored the ways to get rich in villages more comprehensively from different angles. The result of the investigation shows that different villages have different situations, and different villages have different optimal development paths, which requires someone to explore and discover.Rural revitalization must be adapted to local conditions and cannot blindly follow the trend.

The trade-off between the safety and electrochemical performance of electrolytes for electrochemical energy-storage devices is a key and urgent issue to be solved. Herein, a wood-based self-protection electrolyte (DW@SPE) was fabricated by delignified wood (DW), polyethylene oxide-block-polypropylene oxide-block-polyethylene oxide (PEO–PPO–PEO) and lithium chloride (LiCl) via vacuum soaking. DW@SPE displayed excellent electrochemical performance with high ionic conductivity and specific capacitance of 1.09 S m−1 and 112.1 F g−1, respectively. Interestingly, owing to the reversible phase transition characteristic of SPE and the unique channel structure of DW, DW@SPE had an anisotropic electrochemical thermal response. As the temperature increased to the phase transition point, the ionic conductivity of DW@SPE fell sharply when parallel to the through-channel direction of DW, showing the capability of smart thermal-shutdown self-protection. Contrarily, the ionic conductivity increased gradually as the temperature rose when perpendicular to the through-channel direction of DW, thereby exhibiting accurate temperature-sensing and sensitive fire-warning performance (2.6 s). DW@SPE self-extinguished rapidly after fire removal, and its limiting oxygen index reached 61.5%, demonstrating outstanding flame retardancy. Our work provides new insights into the fabrication and application of high-efficiency and high-safety electrolytes with natural renewable material, which is beneficial to promote the sustainable development of energy-storage devices.
