Objective To analyze and summarize the clinical features of one patient with anti-GQ1b antibody syndrome presenting with rare and atypical manifestations of headache and visual disturbance. Methods Clinical data of a patient with anti-GQ1b antibody syndrome presenting with rare and atypical manifestations of headache and visual impairment were reported. Relevant case reports were retrieved from PubMed, Web of Science, CNKI and Wanfang Data using Chinese search terms of “visual disturbance”“visual impairment”“headache” and “head pain”, and English search terms of “GQ1b”“vision disorders”“visual disorders”“visual disturbance”“headache”“head pain” and “cephalalgia”, etc. Combined with literature review, the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, laboratory and auxiliary examination and treatment prognosis of patients presenting with this type of manifestations were summarized. Results The 71-year-old male patient had a history of diarrhea at 3 weeks before the onset, manifested with headache and visual disturbance. Cerebrospinal fluid was detected for anti-GQ1b antibody （+） and anti-aquaporin 4 （AQP-4） antibody （-）. He was diagnosed with anti-GQ1b antibody syndrome. Headache symptoms were relieved by steroid treatment, and visual acuity was basically restored after 20 d. According to literature reviews, 9 patients with anti-GQ1b antibody syndrome were manifested with visual impairment and 5 patients presented with headache. All these patients had a history of pre-infection before the onset of disease. Serum or cerebrospinal fluid anti-ganglioside antibody detection contributed to early diagnosis. Prompt use of steroid hormone or immunoglobulin therapy yielded favorable prognosis. Conclusions Patients with anti-GQ1b antibody syndrome can only present with isolated atypical symptoms, such as headache and visual disturbance, if patients have pre-infection histories, early diagnosis and treatment should be performed.

So far, there still existed many challenges on the effective utilization of solar energy and rapid transportation of photo-generated carrier in the photocatalysis fields. The constructing structural/functional configuration of photocatalyst by combining the homojunctions with oxygen vacancies (Ov) was a good project to overcome these inherent disadvantages. Herein, the homogeneous TiO 2 @TiO X photocatalysts were designed and fabricated by a solid-phase thermal reduction technology using sodium borohydride as a reducing agent. The structure, morphology, chemical binding, active species and photo-electrochemical properties of the TiO 2 @TiO X were sufficiently investigated via various characterization techniques and indicated that the high-quality homojunction at the TiO 2 -TiO X interface and abundant oxygen vacancies on the surface was formed. The photocatalytic degradation and H 2 production experiment showed that the constructed TiO 2 @TiO X exhibited more outstanding photocatalytic performances, which was 1.4 times higher and 2 times higher than that of the Raw TiO 2 , respectively. The photocatalytic mechanism was proposed that the synergistic effect of optical and electrical properties of TiO 2 @TiO X , such as narrow gap edge and significant enhancement in conductivity, greatly strengthened the photo-response, expanded the response range of spectrum, enhanced photocarriers migration and the photocatalytic activity. This work could provide new opportunity into the design of novel structures of photocatalyst for more efficient light conversion applications. This study is a continuation of our previous work. It aims to characterize the tribomechanical and tribochemical behaviors of Ti3SiC2 in low-viscosity liquids. We found an interesting phenomenon in which the flowing and nonflowing states of ethanol are related to the tribological behavior of Ti3SiC2. Low friction and wear were obtained in flowing ethanol, which is due to the lubrication of the products of tribochemical reactions, especially the oxide scales on worn surfaces. Friction and wear are worse in nonflowing ethanol than in flowing ethanol, with a complicated evolution of coefficient of friction and high wear rate. Three stages of a tribo-oxidation evolution process contribute to the complicated evolution of the coefficient of friction. First, the formation of oxide scales contributes to low friction. Second, the breakup of oxide scales results in an abrupt increase in the coefficient of friction. Finally, scratches and abrasive wear from cumulated debris in nonflowing ethanol lead to a continuous increase in friction and wear. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The thermal decomposition of Ti3 Si C2 in vacuum furnace up to 1500°C has been investigated. The results show that the mild decomposition of Ti3 Si C2 commences at 1300°C and the higher the holding temperature, the larger the volatilization of Si atoms. The Ti3 Si C2 decomposition occurs simultaneously on the surface and in the bulk. Four phases coexist at 1400°C and 1450°C and the Ti5Si3Cx phase appears in the bulk and/or surface. Diffusion distance, rate, and volatilization of Si contribute to the porous structure and the presence of Ti5Si3Cx. The evolution of furnace pressure reflects the decomposition kinetics of Ti3 Si C2.
