Tento článek se zabývá vyšetřováním teplotní stability a oxidačního chování metastabilních tenkovrstvých slitin W–Zr s obsahem Zr až 83 at. % se zaměřením na vliv postupného nahrazování Zr za W ve slitinách. Vrstvy byly připraveny dc magnetronovým naprašováním z terčů W a Zr v argonu bez použití ohřevu a předpětí. Bylo zjištěno, že struktura přesyceného tuhého roztoku W(Zr) v případě vrstev s až 19 at. % Zr je v argonu teplotně stabilní až do 1200 °C a že teplotní stabilita tenkovrstvých kovových skel W–Zr (33–83 at. % Zr) klesá s rostoucím obsahem Zr. Bylo však také zjištěno, že teplotní stabilita tenkovrstvého kovového skla W–Zr s 33 at. % Zr dosahuje 1420 °C, což je v případě binárního kovového skla velmi vysoká hodnota. Žíhání vrstev bohatých na W (0–24 at. % Zr) ve vzduchu vede k vytvoření ochranné povrchové oxidové vrstvy, která slouží jako efektivnější difúzní bariéra proti kyslíku. To je způsobené zvyšující se těsností uspořádání a také amorfizací této povrchové vrstvy s rostoucím obsahem Zr. V případě tenkovrstvých kovových skel W–Zr nedochází během ohřevu ve vzduchu k vytvoření žádné ochranné vrstvy. Během oxidace zde dochází k vytvoření kompaktní, homogenně zoxidované substechiometrické vrstvy W–Zr–O s amorfní strukturou a zlepšenými mechanickými vlastnostmi před dosažením konečné hmotnostní změny. The thermal stability and oxidation behavior of metastable W–Zr thin-film alloys with up to 83 at. % Zr were thoroughly investigated with a focus on the effect of gradual substitution of Zr for W. The films were prepared by dc magnetron co-sputtering of W and Zr targets in argon on unheated and unbiased substrates. The experiments showed that a supersaturated α-W(Zr) solid solution structure of as-deposited W-rich films with up to 19 at. % Zr is highly thermally stable up to 1200 °C in argon and the thermal stability of the W–Zr thin-film metallic glasses (33–83 at. % Zr) decreases with increasing Zr content. Nevertheless, the thermal stability of the W–Zr thin-film metallic glass with 33 at. % Zr reaches 1420 °C, which is very high value for binary metallic glass. The annealing of W-rich films (0–24 at. % Zr) in air leads to the formation of a protective surface oxide layer, which serves as a more effective oxygen diffusion barrier due to an increasing packing factor and amorphization with Zr addition. On the other hand, no protective surface oxide layer is grown during the annealing in air in the case of the W–Zr thin-film metallic glasses and the oxidation leads to the formation of compact, homogeneously oxidized substoichiometric W–Zr–O films with an amorphous structure and enhanced mechanical properties before reaching the final mass gain. Použitím metody HiPIMS (vysokovýkonové pulzní magnetronové naprašování) a změnou parametrů při depozici jsme připravili vrstvy oxidu wolframu s různou stechiometrií a krystalickou strukturou. Po následném žíhání byly vrstvy podrobeny pečlivé analýze krystalické struktury (XRD), morfologie (SEM), složení (Ramanova spektroskopie, EDS) a upraveny jako konduktometrické senzory vodíku. Bylo zjištěno, že pomocí vhodného složení (substechiometrie okolo WO2,76) je možné syntetizovat vrstvy, které během žíhání krystalizují v monoklinické fázi. Tato fáze se ukázala jako nejcitlivější na vodík. Pro zvýšení citlivosti a snížení detekční teploty byly použity částice paladia připravené konvenčním DC magnetronovým naprašováním. By tuning the deposition parameters of reactive high-power impulse magnetron sputtering, specifically the pulse length, we were able to prepare WO3−x films with various stoichiometry and structure. Subsequently, the films were annealed in air at moderate temperature (350 °C). We demonstrate that the stoichiometry of the as-deposited films influences considerably the type of crystalline phase formed in the annealed films. The appropriate sub-stoichiometry of the films (approx. WO2.76) enabled crystallization of the monoclinic phase during the annealing. This phase is favorable for hydrogen sensing applications. To characterize the sensory behavior of the films, the tungsten oxide films were decorated by Pd nanoparticles before annealing and were assembled as a conductometric gas sensor. The sensory response of the films that crystallized in the monoclinic structure was proven to be superior to that of the films containing other phases

Amorfní vrstvy Hf6B10Si31C2N50 a Hf7B10Si32C2N44 odolné proti oxidaci za vysokých teplot byly připraveny metodou reaktivního pulzního dc magnetronového naprašování. Tyto vrstvy byly dále vyžíhány ve vzduchu až do 1500 °C z důvodu vyšetřování mechanismu jejich oxidace. Vzniklá mikrostruktura byla zkoumána rentgenovou difrakcí a transmisní elektronovou mikroskopií. Bylo zjištěno, že po vystavení vrstev vysoké teplotě dochází k vytvoření třívrstvé mikrostruktury. Oxidová vrstva, která se nachází na horním povrchu vrstev, je tvořena monoklinickými a/nebo ortorombickými nanočásticemi m-/o-HfO2 rozptýlenými v amorfní matrici na bázi SiOx. Spodní vrstva zůstala po ohřevu amorfní (Hf6B10Si31C2N50) nebo částečně rekrystalizovala a nyní se skládá z h-Si3N4 a HfCxN1−x s t-HfO2 u povrchu této spodní vrstvy (Hf7B10Si32C2N44). Horní a spodní vrstva je v obou případech oddělena částečně zoxidovanou přechodovou vrstvou složenou z nanokrystalického h-Si3N4 a tetragonálního t-HfO2. Proces oxidace začíná na rozhraní spodní/přechodové vrstvy buď oxidací oblastí bohatších na Hf v případě amorfní struktury, nebo oxidací nanočástic HfCxN1−x v případě částečně rekrystalizované struktury vedoucí ke vzniku t-HfO2 oddělených oblastmi Si3N4. Druhá fáze oxidace nastává na hranici oxidové/přechodové vrstvy a je charakterizována těsně uspořádanými strukturami HfO2, Si3N4 a SiO2, které slouží jako bariéra pro difúzi kyslíku. Malé nanočástice t-HfO2 se zde spojují a přetvářejí ve větší m-/o-HfO2, zatímco z h-Si3N4 vzniká amorfní matrice SiOx. Podobný princip oxidace byl navzdory odlišnému vývoji mikrostruktury pozorován v případě obou vyšetřovaných vrstev. High-temperature oxidation resistant amorphous Hf6B10Si31C2N50 and Hf7B10Si32C2N44 films were deposited by reactive pulsed dc magnetron sputtering. To investigate the oxidation mechanism, the films were annealed up to 1500 °C in air. The evolved microstructures were studied by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. A three-layered microstructure was developed upon exposure to high temperature. An oxidized layer formed at the top surface for both films consisting of monoclinic and/or orthorhombic m-/o-HfO2 nanoparticles embedded in an amorphous SiOx-based matrix. The as-deposited bottom layer of the films remained amorphous (Hf6B10Si31C2N50) or partially recrystallized (Hf7B10Si32C2N44) exhibiting a h-Si3N4 and HfCxN1−x distribution along with formation of t-HfO2 at its top section. The two layers were separated by a partially oxidized transition layer composed of nanocrystalline h-Si3N4 and tetragonal t-HfO2. The oxidation process initiates at the bottom/transition layer interface with oxidation of Hf-rich domains either in the amorphous structure or in HfCxN1−x nanoparticles resulting in t-HfO2 separated by Si3N4 domains. The second stage occurs at the oxidized/transition layer interface characterized by densely packed HfO2, Si3N4 and quartz SiO2 nanostructures that can act as a barrier for oxygen diffusion. The small t-HfO2 nanoparticles merge and transform into large m-/o-HfO2 while h-Si3N4 forms amorphous SiOx matrix. A similar oxidation mechanism was observed in both films despite the different microstructures developed.

Objective: This study compared groups of patients with calcaneal fractures of Sanders types II and III. One group was treated with ORIF using an LCP (plate), while the second was treated with a minimally invasive method using a C-Nail. Methods: The study included 217 patients in the ORIF group and 19 patients in the minimally invasive nail osteosynthesis group. Results: In the LCP group, the outcomes were excellent for 35.7% of the patients; good, 38.9%; satisfactory, 19.7%; and poor, 5.7%. In the C-Nail group, the outcomes were excellent for 36.9% of the patients; good; 31.6%; satisfactory, 21%; and poor, 10.2%. The mean values of the restoration of Böhler's angle from post-injury were 6.8° to 32.3° in the LCP group and 7.1° to 33.3° in the C-Nail group. After 12 months, there was only a minimal decrease in Böhler's angle to 29.2° in both the LCP and C-Nail groups. Conclusion: The outcomes obtained with C-Nail fixation are statistically identical to those obtained with LCP fixation. We conclude that osteosynthesis with a C-Nail is suitable as the first-choice treatment for Sanders types II and III fractures. Level of evidence IV, retrospective observational study. RESUMO Objetivo: Comparar grupos de pacientes com fratura intra-articular do calcâneo tipos II e III de Sanders. Métodos: Estudo retrospectivo que incluiu 217 pacientes no grupo tratado por redução aberta e fixação interna com placa de compressão (Grupo PC) e 19 pacientes que seguiram um método minimamente invasivo com C-Nail. Resultados: No Grupo PC, os resultados foram excelentes em 35,7%, bons em 38,9%, satisfatórios em 19,17% e ruins em 5,7%. Os resultados registados no grupo que recebeu implante de unha foram excelentes em 36,9%, bons em 31,6%, satisfatórios em 21% e ruins em 10,2% Os valores médios do restauro do ângulo de Böhler desde o pós-ferimento variaram entre 6,8° e 32,3°, no Grupo PC, e entre 7,1° e 33,3°, no grupo tratado com C-Nail. Ao fim de 12 meses, apenas se observou redução mínima do ângulo de Böhler para 29,2° nos dois grupos. Conclusão: Os resultados do método recentemente introduzido de osteossíntese minimamente invasiva com C-Nail são estatisticamente idênticos aos obtidos pela redução aberta e fixação interna com placa de compressão. Assim, o novo tipo de osteossíntese com C-Nail é adequado como primeira escolha em fraturas do tipo Sanders II e III. Nível de evidência IV, Estudo retrospectivo de observação.
