Příspěvek se zabývá zhodnocením nerovnosti ekonomické výkonnosti českých podniků polní výroby a vymezením faktorů, determinující zmíněné rozdíly v ekonomické výkonnosti. Metodickým aparátem jsou Giniho koeficient, korelační koeficienty a regresní model hrubé přidané hodnoty. Datovými zdroji jsou zejména Creditinfo – Firemní monitor a Státní zemědělský intervenční fond, ze kterých byla získána data cca 140 podniků za období let 2005-2010. Výsledky článku dokládají vysokou nerovnost účetní přidané hodnoty, která je eliminována provozními dotacemi. Zmíněný efekt dotací však není plně přesunut do nerovnosti výsledku hospodaření v důsledku rozdílné úrovně nákladů a dalších podnikových aktivit. Z hlediska analyzovaných faktorů byl ověřen významný vliv výměry zemědělské půdy, počtu pracovníků a přírodních podmínek na úroveň hrubé přidané hodnoty., The paper deals with the evaluation of disparities in economic performance of Czech farms focused on field production and the identification of factors that determine the differences in economic performance. The methodological tools are Gini coefficient, correlation coefficients and regression model of gross value added. Data sources are especially the Creditinfo – Firemní monitor and the State Agricultural Intervention Fund, from which the data of circa 140 farms from years 2005-2010 were obtained. The results document the high inequality of value added, which is eliminated by operating subsidies. Mentioned effect of subsidies is not fully transferred to the inequality of economic results due to different levels of cost and other business activities. In terms of the analyzed factors, the significant impacts of agricultural land, staffing and natural conditions were verified on the level of gross value added.

Common agricultural policy has fundamentally projected itself into the business management of individual agricultural businesses. The submission addresses the assessment of the effects of subsidy policy on the production, costs and profit of agricultural businesses that engage predominantly in plant production. At the same time, it determines the effects of subsidy policy on demand for the production factors of labour and land. To the research questions more than 100 agriculture businesses were analyzed. The date from financial statements enabled to construct production function model, to quantify the cost function, the function of demand for land, the demand for the production factor of labour and finally the profit function was constructed. The results of research evidence the fact that direct payments have a negative effect on the production of agricultural businesses, but on the other hand they initiate demand for agricultural land and increase the profit of agricultural producers. The results also show direct payments do not motivate agriculture businesses towards increased production. The direct payments also increase the demand for production factor of land and they have also a significant effect on the value of profit.

The paper analyses the differences in the technology and technical efficiency of Czech and Slovak processing companies in the period 2003–2012. A random parameters model with sector and country dummies is employed to capture sectoral and national differences in technology. The paper addresses two research questions. The first question relates to technology. In particular, we investigate whether inter- and intra-sectoral differences, as well as differences between Czech and Slovak processing companies, are pronounced. The second question considers the development of technical efficiency. The paper analyses the differences between the technical efficiency of Czech and Slovak processing companies and the sources of its development.

The article deals with the analysis of inequality in the distribution of the economic result in businesses engaging in field production in the Czech Republic, by way of the assessment of the impact of subsidies on the said inequality and by defining the effect of the size of the business on the economic result as well as inequality. The methodical tool is the quantification of the Gini coefficient and its elasticity. The data basis consists of panel data of 140 agricultural businesses focusing on field production for the period of the years 2005–2010.The main results of the submitted article substantiate a high inequality in the distribution of the economic result for the accounting period among field production businesses. The said inequality is not generally caused by the differing size of the analyzed businesses, and the associated volume of subsidies obtained, but is affected by other factors, such as the management quality, the investment activity of the business, or exceptional events. Subsidies do contribute to the more equal distribution of the economic result, but their impact is very small. Out of the individual categories of subsidies, the ones with the main redistribution effect are direct payments, as a result of the high proportion of total subsidies that they comprise.

The paper focuses on an analysis of income inequality and expenditure inequality of households in the Czech Republic for the period 2001 - 2009, based on data from the Statistics of Family Accounts. The basic methodological tool is the Gini coefficient and its decomposition according to individual categories of consumer expenditure. The conducted research reaches the conclusion that income inequality is higher than inequality in consumer expenditure, and income inequality for the analyzed period is growing at a higher rate than expenditure inequality. Tax-transfer tools effectively eliminate income inequality, but nevertheless inequality of disposable income exceeds the inequality of net monetary expenditure. As regards the mutual relationship of income inequality and expenditure inequality, expenditure inequality within a period of economic growth and boom copied the course of income inequality, while within a period of economic decline and recession both inequalities showed a completely different development. The main determinant affecting income inequality may be considered to be non-consumer expenditure, particularly expenditure for the acquisition of real estate.

A new type of migrating zone boundary in electrophoresis is presented theoretically and evidenced experimentally. This type of the boundary (called hybrid boundary) shows simultaneously a steady-state part with self-sharpening properties and an unsteady-state part with time-dependent electromigration dispersion. It is shown that a sample zone may possess a hybrid boundary both as its front and rear one simultaneously. In such a case, the evolution of a sample zone injected originally as a rectangular pulse exhibits very complex transient shapes before it reaches the well-known fronting or tailing triangular shape. Depending on the stage at which detection of such a sample zone occurs, variable and peculiar-shape peaks may appear in the electropherogram. Based on theoretical predictions, experimental examples of the above-mentioned phenomena are presented in this contribution for direct and indirect UV absorbance detection of sample zones. Excellent agreement of theoretical predictions with the experiments has been found. The knowledge of hybrid boundaries is of key significance for correct interpretation of records of CE analyses in practice.

The aim of this paper is the evaluation of gross value added inequality in the field production businesses, including the definition of determinants that cause or eliminate the mentioned inequality. The fulfillment of this aim is based on the quantification and decomposition of the Gini coefficient and on quantification of random effects model. Panel data for the analysis were gained from the Creditinfo database and the State Agricultural Intervention Fund and represent the economic results of 140 field production companies from 2005-2010. Results of the paper document the inequality of gross value added, which is generated mainly by the differences in farm size and by different natural conditions, in which the firm farms. The inequality is eliminated mainly by income subsidies. Agri-environmental subsidies also eliminate the inequality but in less extent.

An optimized procedure for the fast separation of DNA sequencing fragments in short bare fused-silica capillaries filled with highly alkaline solutions of replaceable linear polyacrylamide is presented. High denaturing abilities of the separation media at pH values over 12 are the main reason for their applications in analyses of ssDNA fragments. Moreover, the alkaline solutions of polyacrylamide provide other advantageous properties: three times higher electrophoretic mobility of ssDNA fragments in comparison to those in urea, negligibly low electroosmotic flow in uncoated capillaries, and an adequate stability to a fast alkaline hydrolysis. The separation power of this procedure is enhanced strongly by using monocarboxy poly(ethylene glycol), a terminator for transient isotachophoresis, which eliminates the electromigration dispersion. A high separation efficiency of our system enables to reduce analysis time to several minutes by decreasing the effective lengths of capillaries to 7 cm. A special sample introduction by diffusion is successfully applied. The experimental results demonstrate a potential of the alkaline electrolytes for an implementation in diagnostic sequencing practice.

The methodology and instrumentation for fast denaturing electrophoresis in short capillaries was developed and exemplified by detection of short tandem repeat polymorphism in the endothelin 1 gene. The resolution of two nucleotides, which is required for the detection of a dinucleotide repeat polymorphism, was achieved in a capillary of an effective length of 2.5 cm at a temperature of 600C and an electric field strength of 600 V/cm in 42 s. Thus, the use of denaturing electrophoresis in short capillaries with laser-induced fluorescence detection resulted in a reduction of analysis time by a factor of 200 when compared to the conventional slab gel electrophoresis. The developed methodology and instrumentation is advantageous for an implementation in clinical diagnostics and genetic population screening where fast analytical instrumentation amenable to automation is of paramount importance.

The optimum separation conditions of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products have been found for high-speed capillary electrophoresis (CE) with laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) detection. DNA fragments obtained after PCR amplification of the region covering the (CA)18 microsatellite repeat in nitron 5 of the gene for FcERIbeta, a high affinity glycoprotein receptor for IgE, located on chromosome 11 (11q13), were analyzed with the aim of investigating the repeat polymorphism. The results of polyacrylamide slab gel electrophoresis (PAGE), agarose gel electrophoresis, CE with absorbance detector and CE with LIF are compared. The CE with LIF proved to shorten analysis time by a factor of 100 when compared to slab gel electrophoresis. CE-LIF utilizes a short capillary with an effective length of 6.3 cm and electric field strength from 100 to 550 V/cm. The respective PCR products of sizes from 116 to 210 base pairs (bp) were analyzed in 3 min.

Seven representatives of the serogroup B Staphylococcus aureus bacteriophages, 29, 53, 55, 83A, 85, phi 11 and 80 alpha, were examined by capillary electrophoresis (CE) for genomic homology using DNA restriction analysis. Genomic DNA of individual bacteriophages was cleaved by HindIII restriction endonuclease, and the resulting restriction fragments were separated by standard horizontal agarose slab gel electrophoresis (SGE) as well as by CE in low-melting-point agarose solutions. The number and size of restriction fragments identified by both methods were compared. The high separation power of CE makes it possible to extend the restriction fragment patterns. In most of the restriction patterns, some additional restriction fragments as small as 150 bp, not identified by SGE, were detected. With respect to speed, high separation efficiency, low sample consumption and automation, CE offers a simple procedure for processing of multiple samples cost-effectively in a reasonable time. The comparison of the complemented restriction patterns of the different phage strains and the subsequent identification of their common fragments leads to a deeper understanding of their phylogenetic relationships. The genome homologies expressed for individual phage pairs in terms of coefficient F values ranged from 15 to 69%. These values are in good accordance with the degree of DNA homology of these phages as determined by DNA hybridization studies and thermal denaturation analysis of DNA by other authors. The total size of each phage genome was estimated by adding the sizes of individual restriction fragments.

The report focuses on the assessment of the rate of inequality in the consumption of foodstuffs and beverages by households in the Czech Republic. It analyzes the said inequality on the basis of data from the Family Account Statistics for the period of 2001–2009. The main methodical tools for the performed analysis are the quantification of the Gini coefficient of natural consumption and the consumption expenditures for foodstuffs and beverages of Czech households, the construction, quantification and verification of consumption functions. The obtained results evidence a greater balance in the consumption of foodstuffs and beverages than which is shown by the allocation of the overall expenditures or income of Czech households. At the same time, the said inequality in the consumption of foodstuffs and beverages is characterized by a slightly declining tendency in time. With regard to individual categories of foodstuffs and beverages, the greatest inequality can be defined in the case of dispensable commodities, which are consumed by quantitatively wealthier strata of the population, who are simultaneously willing to pay a higher price for them. Thus, for a number of commodities, we can note the greater quality of foodstuffs and beverages consumed by higher income groups. These commodities may primarily be characterized as having a greater price elasticity. On the other hand, there are foodstuffs in the case of which consumers react more flexibly to changes in income, but whose consumption is relatively stable. Therefore, inequality of consumption is not unequivocally associated with income elasticity, but rather with price elasticity.
