Nanomaterials research interest is growing towards a simple and eco-friendly approach due to its fascinating benefits. This paper reports an initial investigation of structural properties of ZnO nanomaterial via green synthesis method utilizing Tectona grandis leaf extract. ZnO nanomaterial was processed by dissolving a precursor of Zn(CH
3 COO)2 .2H2 O in doubled distilled water and followed by titration of Tectona grandis leaf extract. The analysis of XRD data revealed the formation of wurtzite hexagonal structured of ZnO with crystallite size of 4.48 nm. Besides, the presence of −OH groups of Tectona grandis leaf extract which acts as a reducing agent during the production of ZnO was verified by FTIR characterization. Furthermore, the absence of absorption peaks at wavenumbers between 1000 cm−1 to 4000 cm−1 indicated the high purity of the synthesized ZnO. To conclude, ZnO nanomaterial has been successfully produced via green synthesis route. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published
