Methods and means of remote control of the ecological state of the atmosphere are constantly improving. Lidar sensing allows obtaining up-to-date information about natural and technogenic sources of atmospheric pollution. There is a wide range of problems in ecological control, where the deployment of an inexpensive mobile lidar network is required. For this purpose, it is suggested to use Q-switch and MOPA fiber lasers in lidars. Q-switch fiber lasers have a simpler design and are more practical to use. However, pulses from Q-switch lasers have long full-pulse durations. In the present work, a lidar signal inversion method (LSIM) is proposed for solving this problem. Verification and outdoor experimentation of the LSIM was carried out with the reference signal method (RSM). The advantage of the proposed RSM is the minimum number of controllable parameters necessary for LSIM verification and approbation. As a result, the accuracy of the obtained results increased. Thus, the possibility of application of the Q-switch fiber lasers for lidar sensing is shown both theoretically and experimentally. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We used conducting redox-active polymers based on chitosan and bovine serum albumin (BSA), covalently bound to mediators ferrocene or Neutral Red, or thionine, modified by carbon nanotubes, as a base of an amperometric biosensor for determining glucose. The structure of the obtained polymers was studied by IR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Their electrochemical characteristics were studied by cyclic voltammetry. The redox-active polymer based on BSA covalently bound to ferrocene and modified by carboxylated carbon nanotubes demonstrated the most promising characteristics. The biosensor based on the selected hybrid polymer is characterized by high sensitivity, a lower limit of determined concentrations of 0.05 mM, and a high correlation coefficient (R = 0.9919) with the results of determination of glucose in human blood by an alternative method., Author(s): V. Russian youth has in recent years been increasingly involved in crime, narcotics addiction, and alcoholism, possibly due to a failure of socialization in childhood. Researchers are seeking the origins of this phenomenon and searching for ways to combat it through rehabilitation of juvenile offenders. The essential nature of social and pedagogical rehabilitation (or reeducation) involves having the growing individual go through the main stages of the upbringing process all over again, this time on a more in-depth motivational basis. From the standpoint of the ontogenetic development of the basic needs and the needs-information approach to upbringing, the authors present main stages of the continuous social and pedagogical rehabilitation personality of adolescents characterized by deviant behavior. The continuity of the rehabilitation is provided for by restoring and forming the motivational sphere of the inmates by satisfying their basic needs: in the first stage, their vital (somatic) needs; in the second stage, their ideal (mental) needs, and in the third stage their social needs. For the purpose of disseminating and proliferating the experience of the social and pedagogical rehabilitation of the personality of juvenile offenders, the authors suggest to set up a special social institution (or faculty), the purpose of which is to provide supplementary training (in the form of upgrading of qualifications and retraining) to teachers, psychologists, and social workers in the course "The Scientific and Practical Principles of Socialization and Rehabilitation of the Personality."

The increased rates of deviations in sexual behavior among young people and the number of divorces among young married families provide evidence of the urgent relevance of valeological/health-promoting sex education for the young people of Russia. This article discusses scientific and practical experience from the implementation of program methodology complexes on health-promoting sex education, based on the information approach to education. The authors discuss a study they made of the motivation and meaning sphere of the sexuality of today's young people, as well as a study of young people's readiness for married life.
