The purpose of the present study was to predict the propensity for marital infidelity in relation to the consumption of pornographic material on the Internet, with marital quality serving as a mediator. The statistical population for this descriptive study utilizing path analysis comprised all married individuals residing in Isfahan in 2021. 360 married individuals were selected using an online sampling method and completed questionnaires assessing their propensity for infidelity (TIQ), the quality of their relationships (RDAS), and their exposure to Internet pornography (CPU). The findings indicated that pornography significantly and positively predicted propensity for infidelity, whereas marital quality significantly and negatively predicted the same. The data collected from the questionnaires was analyzed utilizing the path analysis method and the SPSS-26 and Amus-24 software programs. Additionally, path analysis revealed that the quality of marital relations significantly mediates the connection between pornography and marital infidelity. Based on the research findings, it appears that problematic Internet usage, particularly the consumption of explicit sexual content, may incite couples to engage in extramarital affairs. Furthermore, in cases where marital relationships are of poor quality, pornographic viewing appears to exacerbate the propensity for extramarital relationships.

Abstract Background Diphereline is a Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone agonist commonly used in patients with breast cancer. This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of one-month and three-month Microrelin injections produced by Homa Pharmed Company with three-month Diphereline injections manufactured by IPSEN, France. Methods The study was a non-inferiority randomized clinical trial conducted between 2019 and 2023 on premenopausal women candidates for endocrine therapy. The participants were randomly assigned in blocks of six to one of three groups named A (Diphereline 11.25 mg), B (Microrelin 11.25 mg), and C (Microrelin 3.75 mg). The participants’ menopausal symptoms, estradiol, and FSH serum levels were recorded in three-month intervals for one year. The efficacy of each medication and its side effects were compared among the three groups by statistical analysis during the one-year follow-up. Results The study included 133 patients with breast cancer. A decreasing trend in the serum levels of FSH and estradiol and an increasing trend of menopausal symptoms were recorded during the study. No specific side effects leading to drug disruption, hospitalization, or exclusion from the study were observed. Adjusting the effect of study group and time showed no significant changes in estradiol levels between groups B (p = 0.506) and C (p = 0.607) and group A. Also, serum FSH changes between groups B (p = 0.132) and C (p = 0.104) compared to group A were not significant. Moreover, the menopausal symptoms during the one-year follow-up did not significantly increase in group B (p = 0.108) and C (p = 0.113) compared to group A. Conclusions It can be concluded that injections of both Microrelin 11.25 mg and 3.75 mg, produced by Homa Pharmed, Iran, are non-inferior in terms of effectiveness and incidence of menopausal symptoms compared to Diphereline, manufactured by IPSEN, France. Background and aims: The women’s experience of the delivery process has significant consequences. The quality of these experiences affects the health of the mother and child, their emotional connection, the mother’s sexual activity, and her desire to have another child in the future. The present study investigated the women’s experience of the delivery process, the care provided in the unit, and their satisfaction with the delivery environment. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 250 women referred to the labor delivery and recovery room (LDR) unit of Amir al-Momenin hospital (AS) in Zabol city, Iran, in 2022. Data collection tools included the personal characteristics questionnaire, the Childbirth Experience Questionnaire (CEQ), the questionnaire on satisfaction with the delivery environment, and the questionnaire on care provided in the unit. Data analysis was done by SPSS software version 23 using descriptive statistics (absolute and relative frequency, mean and standard deviation) and inferential tests (Pearson correlation test, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA). Abstract Background Identifying breast cancer risk factors is a critical component of preventative strategies for this disease. This study aims to identify modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors of breast cancer in Iranian women. Methods We used international databases (PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Web of Knowledge, and Embase) and national databases (SID, Magiran, and ISC) to retrieve relevant studies until November 13, 2022. The odds ratio (OR) with a 95% confidence interval using the random-effect model was used to estimate the pooled effect. The publication bias was assessed by the Egger and Begg test. A sensitivity analysis was conducted to evaluate the effect of each included study on the final measurement. Results Of the 30,351 retrieved articles, 24 matched case–control records were included with 12,460 participants (5675 newly diagnosed cases of breast cancer and 6785 control). Abstract Background Breast cancer-related lymphedema is one of the most important complications that adversely affect patients' quality of life. Lymphedema can be managed if its risk factors are known and can be modified. This study aimed to select an appropriate model to predict the risk of lymphedema and determine the factors affecting lymphedema. Method This study was conducted on data of 970 breast cancer patients with lymphedema referred to a lymphedema clinic. This study was designed in two phases: developing an appropriate model to predict the risk of lymphedema and identifying the risk factors. The first phase included data preprocessing, optimizing feature selection for each base learner by the Genetic algorithm, optimizing the combined ensemble learning method, and estimating fitness function for evaluating an appropriate model. In the second phase, the influential variables were assessed and introduced based on the average number of variables in the output of the proposed algorithm. Result Once the sensitivity and accuracy of the algorithms were evaluated and compared, the Support Vector Machine algorithm showed the highest sensitivity and was found to be the superior model for predicting lymphedema. Meanwhile, the combined method had an accuracy coefficient of 91%. The extracted significant features in the proposed model were the number of lymph nodes to the number of removed lymph nodes ratio (68%), feeling of heaviness (67%), limited range of motion in the affected limb (65%), the number of the removed lymph nodes ( 64%), receiving radiotherapy (63%), misalignment of the dominant and the involved limb (62%), presence of fibrotic tissue (62%), type of surgery (62%), tingling sensation (62%), the number of the involved lymph nodes (61%), body mass index (61%), the number of chemotherapy sessions (60%), age (58%), limb injury (53%), chemotherapy regimen (53%), and occupation (50%). Conclusion Applying a combination of ensemble learning approach with the selected classification algorithms, feature selection, and optimization by Genetic algorithm, Lymphedema can be predicted with appropriate accuracy. Developing applications by effective variables to determine the risk of lymphedema can help lymphedema clinics choose the proper preventive and therapeutic method.

Background: This scoping review aimed to investigate the status of breast cancer (BC) preventive behaviors and screening indicators among Iranian women in the past 15 years. BC, as the most common cancer in women, represents nearly a quarter (23%) of all cancers. Presenting the comprehensive view of preventive modalities of BC in the past 15 years in Iran may provide a useful perspective for future research to establish efficient services for timely diagnosis and control of the disease. Materials and Methods: The English and Persian articles about BC screening modalities and their indicators in Iran were included from 2005 to 2020. English electronic databases of Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus, and Persian databases of Scientific Information Database (SID) and IranMedex were used. The critical information of articles was extracted and classified into different categories according to the studied outcomes. Results: A total of 246 articles were assessed which 136 of them were excluded, and 110 studies were processed for further evaluation. Performing breast self-examination, clinical breast examination, and mammography in Iranian women reported 0%–79.4%, 4.1%–41.1%, and 1.3%-45%, respectively. All of the educational interventions had increased participants' knowledge, attitude, and practice in performing the screening behaviors. The most essential screening indicators included participation rate (3.8% to 16.8%), detection rate (0.23–8.5/1000), abnormal call rate (28.77% to 33%), and recall rate (24.7%). Conclusion: This study demonstrated heterogeneity in population and design of research about BC early detection in Iran. The necessity of a cost-effective screening program, presenting a proper educational method for increasing women's awareness and estimating screening indices can be the priorities of future researches. Introduction: Herpes simplex virus infection is one of the most common human infections in most parts of the world. Infection of female genitalia, as a common involving region in body, may cause neonatal infection to vitus and lead to dangerous complications. The aim of the current research was the assessment of the seroepidemiology of herpes simplex virus (HSV) in females referring to genetic center of Shahid Beheshti hospital in Hamadan from 2005 to 2010. Methods: In this retrospective descriptive study, from total of 5700 females, referring to the genetic center of ShahidBeheshti Hospital in Hamadan between 2005-2009, 921 females who their medical data of HSV tests were available in their records were studied. The collected data were analyzed using Chi square test, univariate and multivariate logistic regression models and SPSS version 16 software. Results: The results showed that 5.3% of the females referring to genetic center of Shahid Beheshti Hospital of hamadn were seropositive for hsv-2 antibody. The trend for change in prevalence of seropostivity of HSV 2 was significant and there was a meaningful relationship between marriage status and positivity of Hsv2 antibody among females. Conclusion: It seems that the prevalence of HSV-2 infection has had a decreased trend in recent years. The prevalence rate of HSV-2 was in consistent with other parts of the country, which may be due to the awareness of people of transmission routs, prevention as well as treatment methods.

Silicon nitride has attracted a considerable attention because of its excellent properties such as high-temperature strength, good oxidation resistance, high corrosion resistance, good thermal shock resistance, high creep resistance and good thermal and chemical stability. There are several different fabrication methods for synthesizing Si3N4 particles. Such methods are mostly costly and kinetically slow and require lengthy heat treatment. In this study, Si3N4 compounds were synthesized by means of mechanical milling. In the mechanical milling route,Si powder (≤99.0%) was milled under nitrogen gas for 25 h and heated at various temperatures 1100-1200-1300 and 1400 C for 1 h at the nitrogen atmosphere at a rate of 200 ml/min. Silicon powder was also annealed under a similar condition in order to evaluate the impact of milling process on the low temperature synthesizing of Si3N4. Phase identification and microstructural characteristics of products were evaluated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermal analysis were used for characterization of the formed bands and thermal treatment of the sample, respectively. The obtained results exhibited that Si3N4 powder was fully formed with two kinds of morphologies including globular particles and wire with a width of 100–300 nm and length of several microns at sintering temperature of 1300 C. This was confirmed by the Si–N absorption bonds in the FTIR trace. Based on XRD results, 25 h milling reduced temperature of reaction remarkably in comparison with direct nitridation of Si powders for 1 h. With an increase in the reaction temperature, the Si3N4 samples had a phase transformation 𝛂→𝛃, and variation of the morphology followed the vapor–liquid -solid mechanism.

Summary: This protocol describes how to identify Dual Expressers (DEs), a rare type of lymphocyte that co-expresses B-cell receptors and T-cell receptors, by flow cytometry using a cocktail of four antibodies. It also shows the subsequent gating strategy for detecting and sorting DEs and the generation of EBV-immortalized DE lymphoblastoid cell lines and clones for antibody production and cloning antigen receptors. Chagas disease (CD), a neglected tropical disease caused by the protozoan Trypanosoma cruzi, affects around six million individuals in Latin America. Currently, CD occurs worldwide, becoming a significant public health concern due to its silent aspect and high morbimortality rate. T. cruzi presents different escape strategies which allow its evasion from the host immune system, enabling its persistence and the establishment of chronic infection which leads to the development of chronic Chagas cardiomyopathy (CCC). The potent immune stimuli generated by T. cruzi persistence may result in tissue damage and inflammatory response. In addition, molecular mimicry between parasites molecules and host proteins may result in cross-reaction with self-molecules and consequently in autoimmune features including autoantibodies and autoreactive cells. Although controversial, there is evidence demonstrating a role for autoimmunity in the clinical progression of CCC. Nevertheless, the exact mechanism underlying the generation of an autoimmune response in human CD progression is unknown. In this review, we summarize the recent findings and hypotheses related to the autoimmune mechanisms involved in the development and progression of CCC.

Background: Cryptosporidium parvum causes severe gastroenteritis in immunocompromised human and new borne animals. The organism can be transmitted through water. Since small number of C. parvum is infectious, the aim of the present study was to develop a chromatography method for the isolation of C. parvum oocyst in samples with limited number of oocysts. Methods: Antibody was prepared against whole antigen from C. parvum oocysts, the achieved Ab bound to the sepharose 4B and used for the isolation of oocysts. Antibody against P23 bound to the sepharose 4B, used also for the isolation of C. parvum oocyst. In comparison to these both methods, 2 traditional methods (Salt floatation and 55% sucrose floatation) were also performed. Results: Both chromatography methods could bind oocysts with capacity depends on the column size. The isolated oocysts were free of bacteria. Our results showed that the traditional methods are useful for the isolation of oocysts from feces, in its smear stained with ziehl-nelsen, at least 3 oocyts are detectable in each microscopic field under 1000 X magnification. In contrast to the chromatography methods, the bacterial contamination was always observed in oocysts isolated with traditional methods. Conclusion: Immunochromatography could be used for the successful isolation of C. parvum oocysts from the samples containing limited number of oocysts.

Background: Scorpions stings are a health problem in many parts of the world. Mesobuthus eupeus (Buthidae) is the most prevalent species in the Middle East and Central Asia. Definition of toxicogenic and immunogenic characteris- tics of the venom is necessary to produce antidote. In this study, the noted properties of M. eupeus venom were eval- uated. Methods: Venom was obtained by milking M. eupeus scorpions for lyophilization. Toxicity was determined after injecting the venom to albino mice and calculating LD50. Polyclonal antibodies against M. eupeus venom were ob- tained from immunized rabbits. The CH-Sepharose 4B column was used for isolating the specific antibodies. 10 mg of the affinity-purified antibodies were conjugated with a CH-Sepharose 4B column and M. eupeus venom was ap- plied to the column. The bound fragments were eluted using hydrogen chloride (pH: 2.5). Crude venom and affinity- purified fractions of the venom were analyzed by SDS-PAGE technique. Results: Lethal dose (LD) was 8.75, 11.5 and 4.5 mg/kg for IP, SC and IV respectively. The LD50 of M. eupeus venom was 6.95 mg/kg. The crude venom had 12 detectable bands with molecular weights of 140, 70, 50, 33, 30, 27,22, 18, 14, 10 kDa and two bands less than 5 kDa. The affinity-purified venom presented eight bands. The 27 kDa band was clearly sharper than other bands but 70, 18, 10 and one of the less than 5 kDa bands were not observed. Conclusions: Contrary to popular belief, which know scorpion venom as non-immunogenic composition, the current study was shown that the most fractions of the M. eupeus are immunogenic.
